Searchlight Control radar
Nice work on Searchlight Control radar, but would it be possible to fix the "Description" section? It's currently wholly unreferenced and that will raise hackles if it goes on DYK like that. - The Bushranger One ping only 00:45, 17 January 2018 (UTC)

Maury, I don't normally post requests for FAC reviews, but I have a FAC that needs another review and I was wondering if you'd give it a look; it's ice drilling. I'm planning to review your current nomination, but please don't feel obliged on that account if you're short of time or aren't interested. Ice drilling
I'd already closed this when I saw your reply. I assumed that you'd found no deal-breakers in your review, but if there are any further issues, by all means raise them on the talk page. FA does not mean perfect, and even FAs can be improved, but I think there was a consensus that this met the criteria well enough for promotion. Sarastro (talk) 22:54, 23 March 2018 (UTC)
- Maury, if you would make any additional comments on the talk page I'd appreciate it -- I was glad of your review because there aren't enough reviewers at FAC with a background in physics and engineering. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 01:50, 24 March 2018 (UTC)
Mac Pro
Hi. I see you took an interest in the Mac Pro article when it was last up for reassessment. I am gong through old Good Articles that have cleanup tags on them and was hoping you would be interested in having another look at it. The only real problem I can see is the tiny reception section for the 1st generation. That unfortunately fails the broadness criteria. Regards AIRcorn (talk) 03:43, 27 March 2018 (UTC)
- @Aircorn: Indeed, the reception area needs work. However, I'm working on a major article for FA, so I'm a bit busy now. If you bring it to GAR, let me know, but perhaps after the summer? Maury Markowitz (talk) 17:31, 28 March 2018 (UTC)
- I am not in any major rush. There are a lot worse Good Article articles out there so I am just leaving messages for the not too bad ones that I can't easily fix myself. I imagine I will not get around to running through this list again for quite a few months, so after summer (Northern Hemisphere I assume) should be fine. Will let you know either way. The article Zenoah has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
The coverage (references, external links, etc.) does not seem sufficient to justify this article passing Wikipedia:General notability guideline and the more detailed Wikipedia:Notability (companies) requirement. If you disagree and deprod this, please explain how it meets them on the talk page here in the form of "This article meets criteria A and B because..." and ping me back through WP:ECHO or by leaving a note at User talk:Piotrus. Thank you.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Thank you for Nike-X, the first ABM system intended to deal with full-scale attacks; it envisioned thousands of missiles flying every which way in a war that would last only a few minutes in total. Your summary of History of AC power plugs and sockets
You wrote on my talk page: "We're here to write text, not remove it. If you don't like what I added -which was taken from the page on British connectors ironically- make a better version. Don't revert GF edits just because you don't like them"
The problem is that what you wrote was grossly inaccurate in content and chronology, and therefore deserved to be removed. If you think it was based on "the page on British connectors" then you clearly had not read it. There is no justification in leaving such nonsense up. I have now added a short, and accurate, summary. FF-UK (talk) 13:48, 5 July 2018 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:20, 17 July 2018 (UTC)

Hello, I've reviewed your DYK nomination of Sol-20, and there are still some issues that need to be addressed. Specifically, some statements are only mentioned in the lede and do not have inline citations. There are also some weasel words used in the article. Please fix these issues as soon as possible, otherwise the nomination will be closed as stale. Thank you and happy editing. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 01:31, 10 August 2018 (UTC)

- I'm surprised you haven't made a comment at this AfD. SpinningSpark 17:40, 22 September 2018 (UTC)
- I find participating in AfD to be a complete waste of time. If people really think they are fixing the Wiki by removing people's work, who am I to say otherwise? Maury Markowitz (talk) 17:44, 22 September 2018 (UTC)
- It isn't if you go about it in the right way. At least tell me where the information came from so I can make a fist of trying to save it. SpinningSpark 07:10, 29 September 2018 (UTC)
- @Spinningspark: It was from one of Heppenheimer's books, perhaps The Space Shuttle Decision. But it was over 7 years ago, I really can't say. Maury Markowitz (talk) 14:10, 1 October 2018 (UTC)

Comments at Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Assessment/GL Mk. I radar
Hello Maury, this is just to notify you that there are unaddressed comments at your A-class nomination Wikipedia:WikiProject Military history/Assessment/GL Mk. I radar. The article is fairly close to promotion if those comments could be addressed. Thanks, Kges1901 (talk) 23:54, 1 November 2018 (UTC)
- There are still unaddressed comments left. If these are addressed the article can be promoted. Kges1901 (talk) 15:58, 10 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Kges1901: I believe they have all been addressed. I see no new entries since my last post? Maury Markowitz (talk) 00:09, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- There isn't anything below your last post, yes, but there are still AustralianRupert's initial comments at the top of his comments section about uncited paragraphs. Kges1901 (talk) 00:17, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- Everything in that section was addressed. The uncited sections were either cited or removed. Maury Markowitz (talk) 00:33, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Kges1901: Actually it wasn't, but it is now. Maury Markowitz (talk) 01:05, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for addressing the top two bullets, but the last still does not appear to have been addressed, as of the latest revision. Kges1901 (talk) 01:19, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Kges1901: I believe they have all been addressed. I see no new entries since my last post? Maury Markowitz (talk) 00:09, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
Sorry, which is "the last"? Maury Markowitz (talk) 12:01, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- the entire paragraph ending: In the immediate post-war era, these were in turn replaced by the smaller and lighter AA No. 3 Mk. 7 radar, which remained in use until AA guns were removed from service in the late 1950s. Kges1901 (talk) 14:38, 11 November 2018 (UTC)
- Now that that has been fixed, I would like to inform you that there is still one more issue in the image review. Kges1901 (talk) 12:23, 16 November 2018 (UTC)
