I think you have made a mistake somewhere. You have accused me of vandalism and given me a warning for supposedly editing a page about some footballer. I have not done this. I have no interest in football. This is a private computer so you are accusing me only. Please check your facts. I have removed the warning. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.141.153.41 (talk) 19:56, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

As already stated I am the only user of this computer - they cannot have been made by anyone else and I have not been on the page in question. I have removed the warning. Just becuase I am not registered does not mean I am unfamiliar with wikipedia. You are entitled to remove unfair warnings. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.141.153.41 (talk) 20:03, 12 February 2008 (UTC)

Hi Matthew, I have updated the squad list to the 2007 players, although it may not be entirely correct (see my comment on the talk page there). BTW - I see you are a YCFC fan - how did Tim Schaeffers get on when he was on trial? I played with him briefly at Ngongotaha AFC.

Do you reckon I should nominate the article Chris Cohen for Good article status? I've done some work on it and its quite a quality article. Give me some feedback on whether I should nominate it. The sunder king 15:20, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

I am looking up references on the citation needed tags now. The sunder king 15:36, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Found reliable BBC sources on all of the citation needed tags. The sunder king 15:40, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Yeah I had that figured out, but I was first just storing references so they could be at least there for future improvements. The sunder king 15:44, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
That's the cite news done with the football results. Looking at the GA criteria it seems the only thing that would make it fail is the lack of pictures. The sunder king 16:05, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Nominated, because every piece of information in the article is covered, plus its good quality. The sunder king 16:16, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Reverted, no you wouldn't be in violation of WP:3RR because if you read the page it excepts the removal of vandalism or removal of copyright material, the other user has violated 3RR Not you. The sunder king 17:16, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Right I think its time we request a re-review of the article after your improvements. The sunder king 22:17, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Hi the editor who oringally reviewed it has told me to find someone else to review it so they can have a neutral and independant opinion. Anyway our work on the article is really paying off. Reguardless of GA or not. Not many league 1 players will have an article of this quality, look at one like Giles Coke... The sunder king 15:02, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Hi I've renominated Chris Cohen however to apply the finishing touches I've been looking for some images, but I can't find any free ones on the internet. The sunder king 18:58, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Good work for that I added {{User Good Article|Chris Cohen}} to your userpage, I also did the same with mine. The sunder king 20:43, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Derby County F.C. seasons

Hi. I reverted your redirect of Derby County F.C. seasons to History of Derby County F.C.. I did this as these football seasons article can reach all the way to FL status, so I really don't see what improvement removing them is doing for Wikipedia! Just thought I'd let you know. Thanks, Mattythewhite 17:20, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

Given you reverted an edit I made three months ago, I had to think for a while to remember what you're referring to! I'm also afraid that I have no idea what 'these football seasons article can reach all the way to FL status' means. My edit removed nothing: the entire content of the Derby County F.C. seasons article is in the History of Derby County F.C. - there seems very little point in having exactly the same content in two different places. I've therefore changed the seasons article back to a redirect. - Green Tentacle 18:35, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
I entirely beg to differ. I recommend you take a look at these two articles: Ipswich Town F.C. seasons and History of Stoke City F.C.. This is why these should be seperate. Mattythewhite 21:28, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Er, what's your point? Both those articles feature entirely unique content. The content of the Derby County seasons article is entirely copied from the Derby County history page. Wikipedia articles should never consist of content entirely available in other articles. - Green Tentacle 21:34, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Ah... I never actually saw the table on the history article.. my apologies! I'll remove the table from the history article. Could you please then revert the seasons page, as I'll be on 3RR. Thanks, Mattythewhite 21:35, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your apology. Personally, I feel that the seasons table is best off left on the history page, as it is part of the history and the history page isn't that long. Nevertheless, if you want to change it, feel free. You're no where near breaking the three revert rule, as breaking it would mean reverting the page more than three times in twenty-four hours. You're currently only on one reversion (your first reversion was more than twenty-four hours ago). - Green Tentacle 21:46, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Women's football

Hi are women footballers actually notable? Because I aim to create an article on a united states international female footballer known as Julie Fowdy who is the captain of the squad. The sunder king 19:40, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

actually its a mispelling, the footballer is actually called Julie Foudy and she has an article. The sunder king 19:42, 11 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for your contribution! Any idea where we can find a really reliable source for his Welsh stats. Soccerbase has his Wolves-Norwich transfer fee wrong, so I am concerned about their reliability for someone who played as long ago as Iwan. They show 0 goals, but I've seen another (non RS) site who said he scored 2 or 3. Would like something definitive, but FA of Wales site is really really really rubbish! --Dweller 16:03, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

I am contacting individuals in the order of the number of featured lists that they had created by Novemeber 10, 2007. You have created several. So you are among the first. There have been a series of proposals to initiate a Featured List of the Day on the main page. Numerous proposals have been put forth. After the third one failed, I audited all WP:FL's in order to begin an experiment in my own user space that will hopefully get it going. Today, it commences at WP:LOTD. Afterwards I created my experimental page, a new proposal was set forth to do a featured list that is strikingly similar to my own which is to do a user page experimental featured list, but no format has been confirmed and mechanism set in place. I continue to be willing to do the experiment myself and with this posting it commences. Please submit any list that you would like to have considered for list of the day in the month of January 2008 by the end of this month to WP:LOTD and its subpages. You may submit multiple lists for consideration.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:LOTD) 17:09, 15 November 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Joe Thompson

A tag has been placed on Joe Thompson requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Skomorokh incite 21:42, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

I'm very sorry, I didn't realise that any players playing in a professional league were notable. My mistake. Skomorokh incite 21:47, 21 November 2007 (UTC)

FU fixed - BetaCommandBot usually just looks for good FU, i.e. the name of the article MUST be in the FU rationale. Done now. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:25, 26 November 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I've removed the comment about his arrest. The police have not confirmed who they have arrested. It looks likely that he has been arrested, but until it's confirmed I don't think we can risk the legal consequences of it. As soon as we have a source for it, I think it can be added back in. Until then I think we should err on the side of caution. KingStrato (talk) 19:22, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

It's been referenced and added back in now. Seems good enough to me. Sorry to be a pain. KingStrato (talk) 23:10, 28 November 2007 (UTC)

Darren Bent

Hey Matty, I've just popped over to GA and seen the backlog on sports articles, so I thought I'd start wading through them, and it begins with Darren Bent. So, I'll give it a once over and let you know how it's going. I spoke to Darren after ITFC had won in the UEFA Cup against Helsingborgs, he came on as a sub (as far as I recall) and played very well. And the rest is history. So, my comments will follow..... The Rambling Man 18:24, 2 December 2007 (UTC)

Comments added. Let me know if I can help more. The Rambling Man 18:45, 2 December 2007 (UTC)
Cool, I check it out shortly. I'm midway through YCFC History right now, so expect a few comments to deal with there in about ten minutes! The Rambling Man 17:22, 3 December 2007 (UTC)

Copy-edit

No worries. Any time. If you get chance could you have a look at the history section of List of Bradford City A.F.C. managers. I was working towards getting it upto FLC status, though I have put it on hold a little while until I fill in all the gaps, so no hurries. Peanut4 18:38, 4 December 2007 (UTC)

WP:WPF

I had put Leeds seasons in time order, due to the fact that FLCs are time-related. Is that a sensible idea? It goes on the principle of first come first served. Thoughts? Woody (talk) 20:44, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Nope, the alphabetical was simply status quo. It was related to the old system of showing the Featured content. I had only thought about it today when I considered the backlog at WP:FLC. Woody (talk) 20:48, 5 December 2007 (UTC)

Priestfield image font thingy

Sorry dude, I really can't remember. I had to do it in MS Paint as that's all my work PC has on it in terms of image creation software (our home PC was bust at the time) so I guess I just used whatever is the default font in that. Sorry I can't be more help.... ChrisTheDude (talk) 20:43, 7 December 2007 (UTC)

Cheers for clearing that up on his int. stats, didn't realise about the bracketed 0's. Skitzo (talk) 20:36, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Sorry it's been a while, been busy getting ready to go on holiday! As for KKC, yeah, give it a shot at GA. One of the main points of GA is that it's for articles which couldn't, for one reason or another, make FA. In this case I think it's simply due to lack of subject matter, but that ought not stop the article getting to GA - I've seen shorter articles make it. Go list it and good luck! Orphaned non-free media (Image:Hull old badge.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Hull old badge.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot (talk) 20:33, 15 December 2007 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Stuart Taylor

A tag has been placed on Stuart Taylor, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent. If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this.

Fernando Torres

It's been noticed that, along with some constructive edits, you removed the headings in this page that divided Fernando Torres's Atlético Madrid career into sections.

While it's appreciated that you did this because you felt that they broke up the flow, their intention is to make that section of the page more readable, which they do. They make the text more digestable by breaking it down into discrete portions, and that's exactly what is intended.

In fact, this mirrors the style used to break up the Liverpool career section of the Wikipedia page for Steven Gerrard, which also would read less well were they to be removed.

Hey Matty, I noticed your note on Chris' page about featured topics. I think you're in with a really good shout for YCFC, you have five Featured articles and two Good ones to make your topic up. I'd consider going for it. All I'd suggest is that you expand Fulfordgate (or remove it from the template) and get the records page peer reviewed and tidied up a bit. Let me know if I can help. AfD nomination of Daniel Rose

An editor has nominated Daniel Rose, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Daniel Rose and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 18:30, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Re: this edit (sorry it's an old one!) & my comment on the Lloyd Dyer talk page - are you able to add a source for his middle name? Cheers. --Jameboy (talk) 20:15, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

That playerhistory site looks familiar now - I probably asked you before but forgot to include the reference. Anyway I've added it now so cheers. I'm not sure if middle names are always worth referencing or if there is a guideline or policy for it, but in cases where they aren't commonly known I guess a reference is probably useful. In this case I couldn't tell straight away if it was genuine or not. --Jameboy (talk) 23:59, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

YCFC stats and records

I'm not sure, to be honest. With my lot, I added an introductory bit to the Europe section, because it was special for the club in terms of pioneering and success, and hopefully there wasn't enough of it to bore the casual reader (any comments welcome at peer review here :-)

It really comes down to doing what you think appropriate for your club. Don't feel obliged to add a section just because other similar lists have one that your club doesn't. Danger is stepping over the line into almanac-ness. TBH, I'm still not completely convinced these stats-and-records lists do stay the right side of the line.

You could always suggest it in your introduction to the peer review, to try and get other reviewers' opinions. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 15:32, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
