I just wanted to say thanks for removing the deletion notice on Worlds Apart. Appreciate the support! Let Me Eat Cake (talk) 17:19, 15 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your welcome; if BenTels is going to revert me, s/he should consider nominating it, rather than add the template the user did; it does not seem to be a genuine proposal. -- Matthew RD 17:24, 15 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Do you feel that this article is ready to become a candidate for WP:FL or possibly WP:FA? (In case you're wondering why I can't decide!) I've been considering nominating it for some time now, but I wanted to ask you first since you are largely responsible for expanding the article. (I am watching this page, so please reply here.) Davejohnsan (talk) 20:44, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Actually I did consider making the first season article an FLC when I was expanding. I kind of put it in the back burner since the second season finished showing in my home country. I don't think it is ready yet. There is still some production that needs expanding (imho), I was also trying to prose the cast section. At one point I did quite a lot of research listing relevant sources to place on the article (such as using Hawaii-based websites, guest cast sources, mention that filming was disrupted or something during the Japanese tsunami that struck the islands last year, etc). However, I listed them in a Word document, and for some reason I can't seem to find it (I hope I didn't delete it by accident :) My opinion is the article needs a little more work, I won't mind if you continue the work and nominate it. -- Matthew RD 21:01, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
FOUND THEM!!! Found the sources again, thank god, there are still a lot of them though. I'll probably put them on the talk page or a sandbox page or whatever so I don't have to forget which document I put them on. -- Matthew RD 21:30, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Posted them here. -- Matthew RD 21:35, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

IP reverter

[edit]

I just did the last warning to set up a 3RR posting, unless you know a friendly admin that will block this turkey the easy way. What do you think? They're not blocked because no one has sought out an admin or posted on the 3RR board. --Drmargi (talk) 20:08, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately I'm not acquanted with any admin. I would just give WP:AN3 another shot. I learned about an attempt on the IP, but it was turned down. Hopefully with the current edit war situation the admins may take action this time. -- Matthew RD 20:20, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Never mind. I took a stab and caught Bushranger online. He's semi'd the article and will block if the IP keeps it up. I asked why no block now, but he needs a little time to reply. --Drmargi (talk) 20:30, 19 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Update! Our IP reverter, who eventually registered as Cardinalsmyles and was indeff'd is back! I started a SPI and alerted Bushranger, so hopefully the latest problems won't last long. --Drmargi (talk) 13:04, 10 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for creating Waterloo Road (series 3), Matthew R Dunn!

Wikipedia editor Alpedio just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:

I am Alpedio, and I am a Wikipedia editor. I just want to note one thing, you keep on failing, in every lead for the series', to spell two correctly, and to capitalize the word "Eponymous School"

The Original Barnstar
This edit made my day, if only because I've always detested writing plot summaries. Funnily enough, I almost began expanding the article a few days ago, but decided to temporarily put it on the backburner (I'll jump back in soon). Keep up the great work! Thanks. I was also planning on adding reception info too. -- Matthew RD 06:55, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Awesome. I should be able to begin a production section soon with the S1 DVD and can help with the reception section. Maybe we can expand this for DYK? Ruby 2010/2013 17:34, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sounds good. -- Matthew RD 17:44, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
As we speak I am already getting started on adding some reviews. -- Matthew RD 17:45, 8 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've nominated the article for DYK and GA. Could you give it another glance and make sure everything looks ok? Thanks! Ruby 2010/2013 21:19, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Good Articles Recruitment Centre

[edit]
Hello! Now, some of you might have already received a similar message a little while ago regarding the Recruitment Centre, so if you have, there is no need to read the rest of this. This message is directed to users who have reviewed over 15 Good article nominations and are not part of WikiProject Good articles (the first message I sent out went to only WikiProject members).

So for those who haven't heard about the Recruitment Centre yet, you may be wondering why there is a Good article icon with a bunch of stars around it (to the right). The answer? WikiProject Good articles will be launching a Recruitment Centre very soon! The centre will allow all users to be taught how to review Good article nominations by experts just like you! However, in order for the Recruitment Centre to open in the first place, we need some volunteers:

  • Recruiters: The main task of a recruiter is to teach users that have never reviewed a Good article nomination how to review one. To become a recruiter, all you have to do is meet this criteria. If we don't get at least 5-10 recruiters to start off with (at the time this message was sent out, 2 recruiters have volunteered), the Recruitment Centre will not open. If interested, make sure you meet the criteria, read the process and add your name to the list of recruiters. (One of the great things about being a recruiter is that there is no set requirement of what must be taught and when. Instead, all the content found in the process section is a guideline of the main points that should be addressed during a recruitment session...you can also take an entire different approach if you wish!) If you think you will not have the time to recruit any users at this time but are still interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still add your name to the list of recruiters but just fill in the "Status" parameter with "Not Available".
  • Co-Director: The current Director for the centre is me (Dom497). Another user that would be willing to help with some of the tasks would be helpful. Tasks include making sure recruiters are doing what they should be (teaching!), making sure all recruitments are archived correctly, updating pages as needed, answering any questions, and distributing the feedback form. If interested, please contact me (Dom497).
  • Nominators, please read this: If you are not interested in becoming a recruiter, you can still help. In some cases a nominator may have an issue with an "inexperienced" editor (the recruitee) reviewing one of their nominations. To minimize the chances of this happening, if you are fine with a recruitee reviewing one of your nominations under the supervision of the recruiter, please add your name to the list at the bottom of this page. By adding your name to this list, chances are that your nomination will be reviewed more quickly as the recruitee will be asked to choose a nomination from the list of nominators that are OK with them reviewing the article.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing this program bring new reviewers to the Good article community and all the positive things it will bring along.

A message will be sent out to all recruiters regarding the date when the Recruitment Centre will open when it is determined. The message will also contain some further details to clarify things that may be a bit confusing.--Dom497 (talk)

Stargate SG-1 Season 1

[edit]

The episode order listed on the Stargate SG-1 (season 1) page was the episode order from the DVD releases. Until you made your edit and I did some research out of confusion, I always assumed that Wikipedia/the DVD releases were correct and that Amazon Instant's listing was incorrect. Now I've been finding evidence pointing otherwise. Do you happen to know why there are two different episode orders for SG-1 Season 1?

P.S. I prefer the DVD order, for the record. --Arkatox (talk) 22:03, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly due to some publishing issue or whatever, lost of DVD box sets include different episode orderings. Also, regardless of which you prefer, episode orders are generally defined by order of first broadcasts, not later DVD releases, as in pretty much every other episode lists. -- Matthew RD 23:12, 1 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Europe 10,000 Challenge invite

[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Europe/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like Germany, Italy, the Benelux countries, Iberian Peninsula, Romania, Slovenia etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. If you would like to see masses of articles being improved for Europe and your specialist country like Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon, sign up today and once the challenge starts a contest can be organized. This is a way we can target every country of Europe, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant and also sign under any country sub challenge on the page that you might contribute to! Thank you. --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 21:08, 7 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm working on a study of political motivations and how they affect editing. I'd like to ask you to take a survey. The survey should take no more than 1-2 minutes. Your survey responses will be kept private. Our project is documented at https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Research:Wikipedia_%2B_Politics.

Your survey Link: https://uchicago.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9S3JByWf57fXEkR?Q_DL=56np5HpEZWkMlr7_9S3JByWf57fXEkR_MLRP_3xBR0nEJWeSSeqN&Q_CHL=gl

I am asking you to participate in this study because you are a frequent editor of pages on Wikipedia that are of political interest. We would like to learn about your experiences in dealing with editors of different political orientations.

Sincere thanks for your help! Porteclefs (talk) 16:40, 19 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Template:Sleepy Hollow ratings, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. -- AlexTW 14:14, 15 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Michael Scofield (fictional character).jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Michael Scofield (fictional character).jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator seven days after the file was tagged in accordance with section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. DMacks (talk) 22:32, 20 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
