Cheers

This the one one I sent.

Damon Runyon's short story "Dancing Dan's Christmas" is a fun read if you have the time. Right from the start it extols the virtues of the hot Tom and Jerry

This hot Tom and Jerry is an old-time drink that is once used by one and all in this country to celebrate Christmas with, and in fact it is once so popular that many people think Christmas is invented only to furnish an excuse for hot Tom and Jerry, although of course this is by no means true.

No matter what concoction is your favorite to imbibe during this festive season I would like to toast you with it and to thank you for all your work here at the 'pedia this past year. Best wishes for your 2020 as well K. MarnetteD|Talk 02:29, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

Peace Dove

Peace is a state of balance and understanding in yourself and between others, where respect is gained by the acceptance of differences, tolerance persists, conflicts are resolved through dialog, peoples rights are respected and their voices are heard, and everyone is at their highest point of serenity without social tension. Happy Holidays to you and yours. ―Buster7  00:31, 12 December 2019 (UTC)

Christmas message

Thanks for your Christmas message. 2001 trivia: in the French language dubbed version of the film, when HAL is being disconnected by Dave, he sings "Au clair de la lune" instead of "Daisy Bell". I discovered this while watching the French language version, but there are other versions in German and Italian, which are "Hänschen klein" [1] and "Giro giro tondo".[2] This is similar to the multiple versions of All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy that Kubrick filmed for The Shining.--♦IanMacM♦ (talk to me) 18:10, 18 December 2019 (UTC)

Merry Christmas!

Dear MarnetteD, wishing you a Merry Christmas!🎄🎄🎄🎄 Thank you so much for the card, much appreciated! I'm not very good at the more elaborate things like Christmas cards around here, so please excuse the modesty of my reply. Thank you for getting me into the subject of Powers of Darkness, which I had not planned to do much with. I was actually fun to do the detective work of tracking down and solving this mystery, where I learned a lot about a something that I did not know much about. I have pretty good idea of how this story ended up in Sweden, but the rules on OR means that I cannot put that into the article. Plus, it is nice to have work with editors who are reasonable and kind instead of the obstinate and unpleasant type of which there are far too many around here. Such a blessing to interact with an editor thoughtful and nice for once, and I wish there were more editors like you around here. Anyhow, thank you for all your kindness and support, and wishing you the best for the holidays and the new year! Cheers!--A.S. Brown (talk) 20:00, 19 December 2019 (UTC)

Many thanks A.S. Brown. Such a kind message doesn't need anything to dress it up. Your heartfelt words are deeply appreciated. Best regards. MarnetteD|Talk 21:31, 19 December 2019 (UTC)

Koplimek

Thank you very much Marnette. I actually attended a Christmas show today at a local church. Grade schoolers(or I believe pre-schoolers) came in and sang some Christmas pieces, though a little out of tune. But it was all enchanting. Got some of it on my phone. It was something different and adds to the holiday cheer. Happy Holidays and a safe New Years to you and yours and I look forward to more great editing in 2020. From the files

It's Christmas at the Department of Administrative Affairs...
Sir Humphrey: I wonder if I might crave your momentary indulgence in order to discharge a by no means disagreeable obligation which has, over the years, become more or less established practice in government service as we approach the terminal period of the year — calendar, of course, not financial — in fact, not to put too fine a point on it, Week Fifty-One — and submit to you, with all appropriate deference, for your consideration at a convenient juncture, a sincere and sanguine expectation — indeed confidence — indeed one might go so far as to say hope — that the aforementioned period may be, at the end of the day, when all relevant factors have been taken into consideration, susceptible to being deemed to be such as to merit a final verdict of having been by no means unsatisfactory in its overall outcome and, in the final analysis, to give grounds for being judged, on mature reflection, to have been conducive to generating a degree of gratification which will be seen in retrospect to have been significantly higher than the general average.
Jim: Are you trying to say 'Happy Christmas', Humphrey?
Sir Humphrey: ...Yes, Minister.

Merry Christmas!

I'm wishing you a Merry Christmas, because that is what I celebrate. If you don't like Christmas or just don't celebrate it in any of its forms, then please accept a generic "Happy Holidays". If you celebrate no holidays at this time of year, then hopefully you will be satisfied with an even more generic "Season's Greetings".  :) BOZ (talk) 21:47, 23 December 2019 (UTC)

Joyous Season

A Shaker greeting

A Shaker Christmas wish
Give good gifts, one to another
Peace, joy and comfort gladly bestow
Harbor no ill 'gainst sister or brother
Smooth life's journey as you onward go.
Broad as the sunshine, free as the showers.
So shed an influence blessing to prove;
Give for the noblest of efforts your pow'rs;
Blest and be blest, is the law of love.
