"Never underestimate stupid people in large numbers." ~dannymusiceditor's Dad
I tend to ramble a lot to the point I get incoherent in content debates sometimes. If I say anything totally confusing or even mean-sounding, I probably didn't mean it that way, so just let me know and we'll work it out.
I do not do GA reviews by request unless a trade offer is made.
"Turn Me On"
Hello, you undid my edit on "I'm Good", telling "Turn Me On" never hit #4 on Hot 100. Well, actually it hit that spot on 04. feb. 2012, a little more than two months after "Without You". https://www.billboard.com/artist/david-guetta/# Zsiroskenyeeer (talk) 05:31, 11 January 2023 (UTC)
- That's weird. I swear I checked it before, and Wikipedia's discography for Guetta and the song itself had its peak listed at 7. I even looked at that same source you gave me at the time I put that there and thought it said 7. I don't know how I missed that, I'm sorry. dannymusiceditor oops 14:48, 11 January 2023 (UTC)
"God's Favorite Band"
Hi there! On the article Green Day, you reverted my edit under alternative names, particularly "God's Favorite Band". Actually, on the Stephen Colbert Show, before a performance of the song, "Still Breathing", "God" came down and declared that Green Day was his favorite band. So while you are correct about the title of the compilation, the alternative name should also be listed as correct because of "God's declaration".
https://www.mtv.com/news/eixfpd/green-day-still-breathing-colbert
AugustusAudax (talk) 01:56, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
- The link you have provided me gives insufficient context. What do you mean, "God came down and declared that Green Day was his favorite band"? The video that the MTV source provides is a dead link. dannymusiceditor oops 02:03, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
- As in, an actor came down, pretending to be God, gave his approval, and Colbert quipped that Green Day was "God's Favorite Band".
- Wikipedia says it itself here: Greatest Hits: God's Favorite Band (Background, Paragraph 2)
- Wikipedia's source:https://www.altpress.com/green_day_greatest_hits_gods_favorite_band/#:~:text=One%20of%20the%20compilation's%20new,makes%20an%20appearance%20to%20declare
- Two sources are saying that God's Favorite Band is an acceptable title, as well as a compilation, including one used by Wikipedia itself.
- AugustusAudax (talk) 02:19, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
- @AugustusAudax: that is fine enough reasoning, but we need to do more than just add it back based on what you've shared with me here. It should be sourced just the same way on the band article, and covered somewhere appropriate in the article. Be careful, however, not to word arguments in ways that sound as if you are using Wikipedia itself as sourcing evidence - it took me a while to properly learn that lesson and I still occasionally slip on it.
- Also, I see you are new, and I very much appreciate your earnest effort toward improving the project! If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask. I've been doing this for years. 😊 dannymusiceditor oops 23:20, 22 January 2023 (UTC)
FYI on Justify My Love GAN error
FYI, I saw this edit and thought you might want to know what the problem was. The original problem was this, which set the page number to 2 even though there had never been a GA1. That in itself wouldn't have caused an error, but when they fixed it with this edit the bot decided the review must have failed (since there was no longer a nomination for GA2, so it wasn't still on review, and the article hadn't become a GA, so it hadn't passed), but it complained because there was no review page. I'm going to try to have the bot handle these more elegantly, but for now it just reports the complaint and then I come along behind and clean up the database (since I don't want to keep history records saying there was a review when there really wasn't). Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 03:24, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
- @Mike Christie: Strange. So any editor by themselves can't fix it? To be honest with you, I wasn't even aware Legobot had been retired of GA duty until just a few days ago, so this is all very new to me. I haven't had a GA of my own pass since pre-COVID, and only one nomination overall since then. I missed the whole section of new proposals and have been pretty busy the past week. dannymusiceditor oops 04:36, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
- Well, there's nothing to fix as far as the wiki is concerned -- everything on-wiki is correct. I just don't want the log of what happened to be incorrect, so the bot generates the error message so I can find and fix the issue. The proposals will still be running for at least another week or so, so do take a look if you have time. Mike Christie (talk - contribs - library) 04:41, 23 January 2023 (UTC)

Sorry, my mistake. Doctorhawkes (talk) 23:29, 21 March 2023 (UTC)
- No worries. Sometimes I tend to do the same thing, especially on a page like that of "Joey" where the article is in rough shape, so one would assume those details weren't already available. dannymusiceditor oops 18:09, 22 March 2023 (UTC)
TFA
Thank you today for Tell All Your Friends, "about the debut album by seminal emo band Taking Back Sunday, released in 2002. Although it received little radio support and charted very modestly, it sold at a steady pace, and became the band's best selling record. It became a gold record in America in 2009. In addition to its singles, it featured the emo staple "Cute Without the 'E' (Cut from the Team)" and the album was likened to Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory (2000) as an exemplary effort for its genre."! -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:42, 26 March 2023 (UTC)

Thank you for quality articles about music and its makers such as Tell All Your Friends, Evanescence discography and Mad Season (band), done in collaboration, for GA reviewing, for quoting song title "Everything Is Alive", - Dan, tell all your friends: you are an awesome Wikipedian!

Jesus Christ (Brand New song) draftified
I have closed Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2023 March 30#Jesus Christ (Brand New song)) as "draftify", and restored the article, which is now at Draft:Jesus Christ (Brand New song). JBW (talk) 18:47, 11 April 2023 (UTC)
This is to let you know that the above article has been scheduled as today's featured article for 25 June 2023. Please check that the article needs no amendments. Feel free to amend the draft blurb, which can be found at Wikipedia:Today's featured article/June 2023, or to make comments on other matters concerning the scheduling of this article at Wikipedia talk:Today's featured article/June 2023. I suggest that you watchlist Wikipedia:Main Page/Errors from two days before it appears on the Main Page. Thanks and congratulations on your work!—Wehwalt (talk) 12:26, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
- @Wehwalt: is there any way we could reschedule this and push it back a month? It was released on July 24, and I presumed I would be consulted before it was scheduled. dannymusiceditor oops 16:36, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
- I'll remove it, but since I don't schedule July, you might want to TFA/R nominate it. You can use the blurb I prepared.--Wehwalt (talk) 16:47, 1 May 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you. I want you to know I appreciated the thought, the appointment you made clearly shows appreciation for the work done on the page. So, while I'm honored you chose it, I had a better date in mind. dannymusiceditor oops 21:51, 1 May 2023 (UTC)

Good article reviews
Hello! Thank you for reviewing Jonny's page. I also nominated Guy Berryman, Will Champion and Phil Harvey (manager). If you could review them too it would be great! GustavoCza (talk • contribs) 03:01, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
- If you are willing to take up any of my GANs, I could be convinced to review one more. Any more than that I'd have to decline; I personally believe reviewing more than two connected subjects (multiple band members, works of the same group, etc.) may potentially present as review bias. dannymusiceditor oops 22:03, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
@GustavoCza: just to make sure you see this in case you don't have it watchlisted. I noticed by the time I responded to this you had made so many edits that it was not in the top page of your contribs. dannymusiceditor oops 16:07, 27 June 2023 (UTC)
- I don't believe myself to be a good reviewer, so unfortunately I won't be taking your GANs (or any at all really). But thank you for answering. See you around! GustavoCza (talk • contribs) 16:55, 27 June 2023 (UTC)

- Hi DannyMusicEditor, I think the article relies too heavily on direct quotations from McKinnon so I've marked the worst-affected sections with {{quotefarm}}. Most of these can be safely paraphrased into ordinary text. I also removed the quotebox templates and converted to blockquotes or ordinary text; according to the Manual of Style, pull quotes shouldn't be used in articles. Good luck with your planned GA nom.
