Uncivil behaviour
Hi! Sorry, to bother you. Could you have a quick look at my talk page and Talk:Wigan. Some of the comments have been fairly un civil at the least, but I would be interested to know if you think if they are personal attacks. Certainly I've got myself dragged into an edit war that is proving very boring. Thanks in advance for any advice. Regan123 04:05, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

where did "cold fusion/tmp" go ?
You seem to have deleted cold fusion/tmp on Sept 18, 2006. This temporary page was written by a cold fusion researcher, and, as such, contained valuable information. I wanted to have a second look at it to improve the cold fusion article. Why was it deleted ? Was the deletion discussed and approved somewhere ? Is there anyway to find it again ? It would be sad if we could not find it anymore. Pcarbonn 22:07, 17 December 2006 (UTC)

Yeagley article
Hi, you've been following the recent controversy at David A. Yeagley? Multiple IPs (most likely sockpuppets) keep deleting the entire article, replacing it with a strongly negative/POV "hatchet job" article. I realize that this individual is political and thus leaves his writings open to scrutiny and commentary, but the continued reversion without collaboration or use of the discussion page (it's been several weeks) is a bit difficult to deal with. Nobody has responded to the posting I made to the biographies noticeboard so I wonder how I should proceed, other than keep reverting the article for an indefinite duration into the future. I suppose the IPs could be considered to be committing repeated vandalism, but your input would be appreciated. Badagnani 04:38, 18 December 2006 (UTC)

1-5-7-1
Were you going to put this on AfD? I've created Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/1-5-7-1 and added my arguments for deletion there. I like a lot of the telephony articles on Wikipedia; they were one of the reasons I came here. However I don't think we need an article on what appears to be little more than a voicemail service. Can We Block This User?
This User: 210.5.121.190. You removed vandalism from the Prussian Blue (duo) Talk Page that that User left before. The User left this vile, threatening vandalism before; and I believe they should be blocked for it. By the content of the vandalism, I consider this User to be dangerous. Acalamari 16:05, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks for blocking them. Most vandalism is annoying, but the type of vandalism that the User far, far beyond "normal" vandalism. I gave this User a warning when they first left the threat, but it seems that the User wrote the threat again. We'll see if the vandal keeps doing it after the block. Again, thanks. I would like to inquire about recent deletion of "Church Of Google" article. The reason given was quite criptic, and I`d like an explanation, please. Alice Shade 22:21, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
Re:Church Of Google
Article was placed in Wikipedia according to "Search engine criteria". At the current time, requesting search for "church google" or "church of google" will yield several top-rank search results, which are either highly relevant, either directly connected with subject at hand. (tested at www.google.com and www.yahoo.com)
It was designed primarily not as a reference to particular organisation, but as a summary of religion/philosophy, geared to provide relevant information and refute several common misconceptions. Subject was referenced several times, both by internet resources and press - it could be seen in the search results, which back up earlier claim.
As an example of relevant press - http://www.cnn.com/2003/US/06/29/nyt.friedman/
This article was printed in New York Times, and references to subject as religion/philosophy.
As a side note, article represented a work in progress, and the state it was deleted in, could be described as stub - expansion of it was planned to follow through, along with wikification and compilation of references. It is a joint project, thus it`s compilation was stretched to accomodate contributors from different time zones. Alice Shade

Re:Re:Church Of Google
Well, if it comes to that...
http://www.pandia.com/sw-2004/16-god.html
http://www.webpronews.com/news/ebusinessnews/wpn-45-20040504GoogleFindsReligion.html
Those articles date back to 2004 (another two of top searches for "church of google"), and reference solely to idea of religion/philosophy. They have no connection whatsoever with www.thechurchofgoogle.org - which was founded at summer of 2006. Moreso, those articles reference an Orkut society, which is quite a different medium, then web site.
I think, that this provides enough of proof to state, that the idea of such religion/philosophy is not a singular joke occurance, and had been voiced and researched in several different cases and sociums, which, in my opinion, would be reason enough to provide an outline in Wikipedia.

Recent Changes
Did you notice on RC that there are (-152) and (+155) on the changes? What do they mean? Bearly541 00:32, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
- The numbers mean how many characters are being added or removed. A character is each letter/number/symbol - for example, cat has three. (+572) means 572 characters were added to the article, whilst (-176) means 176 were removed. Cheers, Daniel.Bryant [ T · C ] 10:24, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Wobble
I cant stand this user and the crap hes posting on here. I cant allow such anti-diversity, anti-racial, anti-ethnic things tobe posted on Wikipedia because even thoug hhe thinks hes doing something good, all it does is feed far-right, fascist, racists opionons who fear of losing their distinct identities, cultures and other features. Im sorry, but people like Wobble are a waste of air. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 69.157.107.88 (talk) 21 December 2006
Ok, I will try to make an official complaint about him with the measures you suggested. I like Wikipedia, and I only wish for it to have the most valid, factual, correct information and sources as well as trying to better human society rather than negatively and faslely altering or affecting peoples perceptions of the truth. 69.157.107.88 11:53, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
- This user has a history of making personal attacks and has specifically targeted me for some reason. He has been blocked in the past for this sort of behaviour.[3] I don't know what his problem is, but he never participates in discussions on talk pages, and seems to think that all of the changes he doesn't like are somehow down to me (when often the changes were nothing to do with me). Often when changes are made they are the result of a discussion on the talk page. Alun 12:09, 21 December 2006 (UTC)
- And you Wobbs have been consistently warned and near-blocked for vandalism and POV pushing. Read what I said above and that is my problem with you. Some of your opinions are dangerous and unwanted and I'll do everything I can on Wikipedia to stop someone from you pushing such an agenda. Your views insult aspects of peoples identity and distinctivess that they value, and such views need to be stopped. 69.157.107.88 12:13, 21 December 2006 (UTC)

Bill Rane
Your decision to eliminate the article "Bill Rane" based on lack of notability is in error. You should check this in greater detail. While Bill Rane is not known extensively in some places, he is, in the opinion of many, the most notable artist to come out of Art Colony Taos, NM in the entire last half of the twentieth century. You need to google "Bill Rane" and go through the many articles in the Taos newspapers to really understand just how important he is to the Taos Art Colony. This is a mistake that hurts wikipedia, and does not help it. Wikipedia is the appropriate place for speicialized knowledge. Just because you are not personally familiar with Bill Rane does not justify your deletion on notability grounds. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.35.122.142 (talk) 07:07, 22 December 2006 (UTC).
- Hey, there. I have no objection to a review of my actions -- if what you say is true, then it's possible I've acted in error. A discussion has been started at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bill Rane so that the community can have more input and develop a consensus as to what should be done. If you haven't already, you may wish to read about our deletion policy, about the AfD process in particular, and perhaps how to use a discussion page, so that you can have your say in the discussion. I highly encourage you to direct your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bill Rane. Thanks for your time. Luna Santin 09:17, 22 December 2006 (UTC)

Barnstar
The Defender of the Wiki Barnstar | ||
For knowing when to welcome a user and when to rangeblock an entire ISP, for your anti-vandalism efforts, for your general ability to get stuff done, for your attempts to calm down the petty squabbles about IRC on the incidents noticeboard, and for being a more experienced administrator than me despite making your first edit only six months ago, when I was already at RfA, you get another barnstar to add to your collection. – Gurch, 24 December 2006 |

Shall I protect it and add instructions to take it to WP:RFP when the block expires, if you think that's OK? Tonywalton | Talk 10:15, 25 December 2006 (UTC)
- Khoikhoi's run a checkuser on Technajunky and warned him/her about sockpuppetry; that one was blanked as well. I've protected it now. Merry Xmas, by the way! Tonywalton | Talk 10:23, 25 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi,
I was just having a go at a BiancaMed page. I am hoping to do something along the lines of ResMed (who happen to be an investor) without being spam-like. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Biancamed (talk • contribs) 25 December 2006.
Allah ditta lunewala
Hi, I wish you to please restore the articles Allah Ditta lunewala or at lest give the the stuff so that I may re-create it and add some more information to it He is famous regional singer. Abulfazl 09:25, 26 December 2006 (UTC)
what is your problem —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mcgillismusic (talk • contribs) 26 December 2006.
Looking at the deleted revisions, I believe that the band article Explosion (band) doesn't fall under CSD A7 - they were claimed to have toured multiple countries, which certainly satisfies WP:MUSIC. Secondly they had at least one member who later joined a notable(?) band - Menudo. Finding sources for these claims is another thing, but the mere presence of a plausible claim is enough for the article to escape speedy. Please restore the page. Kimchi.sg 11:18, 27 December 2006 (UTC)
Sorry, I was looking at Explosion (the band) which Mcgillismusic had moved explosion to - that was the one you deleted as CSD A7. But the content is identical. :] I'll undelete the "(band)" version since it's the proper disambiguated title, and list at AfD for input.
(I do think there are WP:COI and WP:SPAM concerns with the Mcgillismusic user, but I think the article is re-writeable if there are enough sources so I'm letting more eyes take a look. OTOH if everyone wants the stuff to be deleted we'll have a consensus to do so. ;-) Kimchi.sg 12:04, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Cleanup after puppet account
Hi,
Thank you for your help with the puppet account User:IanFuller (block log). I was wondering if you mind deleting Image:SIA Cabin Crew.jpg? Since the purpose of the puppet account was to give the impression of being the copyright holder, I thought that it seemes unnecessary to wait for the image to be deleted as a orphaned fair use image.
Sincerely, Oden 14:56, 26 December 2006 (UTC)

Serial vandalism
You have reverted several vandal attacks by User:Ranceturd, and blocked him/her, apparently on the grounds of an inappropriate username. This vandal has already been banned several times for making identical attacks -- see Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Szamuels, Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/Fumigate, Wikipedia:Requests for checkuser/Case/RanceRol. S/he sets up frequent new user ids, apparently using an anonymiser or proxy server, solely with the purpose of posting abuse about Roland Rance. S/he clearly looks at my contributions history, using this as a guide to where to post this abuse -- there is no other logical explanation for posting comments on Farouk Kaddoumi, Gilad Atzmon and Roberto Rosselini; the only connection is that I had recently edited all of them.
This person is stalking me on Wikipedia, and abusing the project as a whole. Is there any way that s/he can be stopped? --RolandR 00:24, 27 December 2006 (UTC)

Hello-- I have no idea what's going on with this page-- When you were doing your revert I also was reverting it to remove that image and take it back to an earlier version. I note that on your edit a link to the image still appears. I don't know if there was anything of value eliminated, but it would be a small price to pay to get rid of that image. You said: "Any chance you'd care to comment on this unblock request? This isn't the only person who seems to have been caught up in it."
- I lifted the block. The ISP has completely ignored my abuse report. This means we almost certainly will now have to fight yet more Cute 1 4 u (talk · contribs) sockpuppets. Additionally, this block shouldn't have affected anyone who already had an account. I'm sorry for the collateral, however. --Yamla 19:28, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

where did "cold fusion/tmp" go ?
Copied from archive: You seem to have deleted cold fusion/tmp on Sept 18, 2006.

Blocking my account
You blocked my ISP address for simply restoring a link named the Lets talk Dusty site repeatedly, that was previously destroyed and removed by ravenfire again and again. I really resent that you took it on yourself to see my actions as vandalism when I was only restoring the links and NOT deleting them. You should have contacted by message first! Do it again and I'll report you to Wikipedia. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Brum2k (talk • contribs) 30 December 2006.
Reply to declined message on my talk page
To add to that, the IP address doesn't seem to be a shared one, or isn't shared among very many people, and it's starting to look like you're the same person. Do you have a slightly more robust explanation, perhaps?
(Gives you the stupid dog look) Seven minutes? How'm I supposed to know I logged in seven minutes after the dweeb was blocked? Pffft, I can't help bad timing on my part. :P Yes, it has been a while, obviously....death in the family, grieving, and probate chaos tends to do that. But I suppose that's not robust enough for you...*shrugs* So... I have questions for you. You apparently glanced at my article edit dates, but... (1) Have you looked at the subject matter? Does the subject matter match the other dweeb's usual haunts? (2) Since you won't google me, have you looked at the COMMENTS that I've made on articles I watch? That's where most of my blabbering has been. (Since it's been a while, you'll probably need to search the respective article "talk"'s archives.) Otherwise, hey, you can always drop me an email and I'll explain things further that way. Open invitation to land in my inbox. :) There's a link via my user page, I believe, I don't want to direct link my email here since I get more than enough spammage already. Loads o Rangeblocks
Hello Luna, I notice you have been making quite a few large rangeblocks recently and I was just wondering why, since these /16 blocks affect over 65000 IPs each. Sorry to bother you, Prodego talk 04:34, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Hi, I see you blocked this user indef with the reason vandal account. This user has claimed his account was compromised by a household member. Looking through the users contribution history I tend to believe him. All vandalism is at the end of his contributions following general helpfulness.
I reduced the block to 4 days warning the user that he is responsible for his account. I hope I have not stepped on your toes too much with this. If you know something I do not I will gladly rethink this. I will be watching the user's contributions very closely. HighInBC (Need help? Ask me) 16:26, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
quick question re: SEGA checkuser
The SEGA checkuser was moved to complete with only 1 of SEGA's 3 IP addys being blocked. It is nice to see an overdue punishment handed down...but SEGA does just as much damage using the other 2 IP addresses. Should they not have been given the same block duration as the "prime" IP? Just wondering. Thanks, cheers and Happy New Year! Anger22 (Talk 2 22) 05:49, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

I need your help
Dear Luna Santin,
First of all, I want to say, you are the only administrator that has shown any respect to me, and for that, I come to ask that you help me overcome this outstanding prejudice directed toward myself by the many pompous admins that continue to block me and harass me unfairly. While I have made mistakes in the past, I assure you I am committed to only contributing to wikipedia.
I am angry because the last time I was blocked was completely unfair. I was issued a warning because I posted "I love you" on two users talk pages. While they took this as a joke, I took it as my try to make peace with these people that i felt wronged me in the past. I'm sorry if "love" is considered a joke around here. While I tried explaining that I should not be warned for something like this, they decided they did not want to hear the radical idea that they were exerting their overzealous attitude towards me, instead of being responsible admins. As a result, they decided to keep me quiet by blocking me for a week. While on this ban, they decided to accuse me of having a sockpuppet, because this user claimed he was me in an edit. Everybody knows a sockpuppet would not admit he is one in his own edit. Since they foolishly thought this user was a sockpuppet of mine, they extended the block to 1 month, to further keep me quiet. I, obviously finding this as unfair, decided to request an unblock, because an accusation that has no actual evidence is no reason to extend the block. Since this was a way of me speaking out, they rejected and even protected my page, which is why you may not be able to respond on my page until the user decides to unprotect it.
I hope you can get back to me, and really help me out. I feel mistreated, and, as a person that cannot stand unjust people and a person that fights for what is right, I want to fight this, so that this whole mishap is solved. If you can help in any way, that would be appreciated. I know that I might even get blocked again for writing this letter, since it involves me speaking out against the almighty admins, even though what I am speaking out against, is wrong.
Thank you, Sportsguru9999 08:19, 3 January 2007 (UTC)
