Sandstein, I disagree. I think that Logan made the right call to close as No Consensus, and that the article, while in poor condition, should not have been deleted in it's final revision. Deleting a page I created

Dear Logan,

I keep getting messages from you regarding deleting a page I created. I am trying to delete "Christopher Schmidt" I am the only one who has ever added information to the page. Can you please explain to me what I am doing wrong and please educate me on the proper procedure for deletion. Hi Riley - the reason why that article cannot be deleted under the G7 criterion is because it was created by another user, User:Schmidtworldwide. If this is you under another account, I would recommend explaining why you registered a new username, as it could otherwise be considered sockpuppetry. If that other user is not you, then I would recommend using the other deletion processes, including PROD and Articles for deletion. Hope this helps! Logan Talk Contributions 02:50, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

deleting one of two accounts

Logan,

I had no idea that I had two accounts registered until you just informed me. Now it all makes sense. I can log in as SchmidtWorldwide and make the deletion from there. My new question to you is how do I now delete my other account so that I only have one account?? The one I want to delete is username: rileyschmidt. Can I do this or can you do this?

Hello Logan. Sorry for the delay in closing out your RFA, it's something we 'crats need to work on a bit harder, I guess the weekend means there are fewer of us around, but no excuses, so my apologies. Anyway, I'm sorry to say that I have closed the RFA as unsuccessful. You had substantial support from the community, and as you probably already know, your % was in the range where we may sometimes need to discuss things. However, having read through the 29 oppose !votes, I felt there was significant enough community consensus against you receiving the mop at this time. Having been there myself (RFA 1 = fail, RFA 2 = pass) I suggest you take the opinions of the opposers into account, work hard on their comments in the next few months and reapply. Hopefully you'll fly through the next RFA.

Once again, my sincerest apologies for the time taken to finally get you a result, and while not ideal, I hope you'll be encouraged enough to keep plugging away and re-apply at RFA in due course. Hello, Logan! I wish to discuss the reversion of a recent edit of mine.

Good evening, Logan! As is said in the headline, I contact you at this hour to bring into question the removal of a recent edit that was left on the page for the English plural personal pronoun, "We." Specifically, I would like to ask what about my changes were deconstructive to the article. I feel that, because of the underlying example to where my edits were made ("We mean to stop your evil plans!"), these changes were justified in greater contextual relation to the article. The changed example had shown grammatical correctness and displayed broader usage of a common word, which sums in simple context the versatility of the English language. I would like to discuss this at further length if you see fit to, and will be glad to re-implement my changes if not. I bid you a good night!

Hi -- when contesting speedy deletions, it would be helpful to me (and, perhaps, others) if you would indicate in what way you believe he article makes an assertion of importance or significance, sufficient to pass A7. I think you misread the editing history on this article. It was blanked by the author AFTER the IP had made edits to it, therefore G7 was valid at the time the author blanked the page.   ArcAngel   (talk) ) 14:19, 6 June 2011 (UTC)

The G7 criterion can only be used "[i]f requested in good faith and provided that the only substantial content to the page and to the associated talk page was added by its author." I believe that you are reading it as "If a user tags a page under the G7 criterion and then another user edits, it invalidates the speedy," which is not true, iirc. It is, "If a user tags a page under the G7 criterion after somebody else has already made substantial contributions, it invalidates the speedy." Hope that makes sense. This has become a minor Internet phenomenon. I find that removing a reference to one of the newest appearances of Agamemnon, indeed, one where quite a few may meet the character for the very first time, compromises the integrity of wikipedia, not the other way around.

ScholarMatch

Not to criticize much but how does an article like ScholarMatch get created with a major COI like a user with the same name as the organization, and purposely changing the 'o' to '0' to bypass the COI/Username bots? I am not saying it's speedable, which it is not, but has serious COI issues, wouldnt you agree? I tagged the article as COI and will consider blocking the user for spam username. -- Alexf(talk) 18:32, 10 June 2011 (UTC)

I was going to report the username to UAA, but it seemed to be such an unbiased article that I didn't want to be bitey - however, feel free to do a spam username block at this point. It is obvious by the username that there is a COI issue, but I feel that the article read very well, has many references, and does not evince a conflict of interest. Was there really a need for a 7 day delete template ? Surely a template stating that the article needed references would have been more appropriate. The article itself, while not providing reference, clearly shows that the person was notable due to his debut appearance for Waterford earlier that day. WP:BLPPROD is a process that does not inherently account for notability, except for on the negative side (to the point where it doesn't claim enough significance to even pass A7). We don't delete if it's just a bad submission; however, if I recall correctly, if the original author tags the submission for a G7, it is pretty uncontroversial to delete it. Logan Talk Contributions 07:15, 20 June 2011 (UTC)

There are multiple claims of importance/significance in the article, including having founded a "thinking network" with coverage in multiple media. To pass A7, an article only has to have the slighest claims of importance/significance. PROD and AfD are good next steps if an article does claim importance/significance.
