{{Infobox Hurling All-Ireland }} or {{Hurling All-Irelands}} , also whats wrong with it (Gnevin 19:50, 10 July 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Gaels Against Event Junkies, by Douglasmtaylor (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Gaels Against Event Junkies seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Gaels Against Event Junkies, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. --Android Mouse Bot 2 14:10, 15 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry

[edit]

Sorry about that I hadn't the faintest idea what 'HOTY' meant and I see so much vandalism from IPs and new users that I often make mistakes. Thank you for talking to me in a polite way about this, normally people get really angry. Well done for avoiding this sort of behaviour! Harland1 t/c 11:58, 8 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe it could do with a small gap, but that's an issue with the table, and not something to be solved with ghastly code in the middle of the table. – PeeJay 18:26, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Paul flynn.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Paul flynn.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:29, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GAA Player Infobox

[edit]

The current GAA player infobox supports all that the Hurler one does and more, integrated dob ,height etc , If you just like the style better i'd suggest dropping a quick line at WP:GAA and see what the other think but personality I can't see much different in the two compare Dan Shanahan, Shane Ryan Seán Boylan and Seamus Moynihan .I think the best way forward is to just make style changes to {{Infobox_GAA_dualplayer}} ,{{Infobox_GAA_player}} and {{infobox GAA manager}} as this is the whole purpose of template to make changes across many pages easy a new template will be an unholy pain Gnevin (talk) 09:26, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've added some of the style changes you suggested , the templates do look a lot cleaner all right,if you make any more changes change you make sure to apply accross the 3 {{Infobox_GAA_dualplayer}} ,{{Infobox_GAA_player}} and {{infobox GAA manager}} Gnevin (talk) 21:41, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry i don't understand what your trying to do can you explain further ?Gnevin (talk) 14:25, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Infobox GAA club , the white behind the Irish looks strange dont you thing as it the only text like that, do you plan to convert the entire infobox to white, U tried a test but it was very stark .Gnevin (talk) 00:19, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I've changed the Irish back to grey as i said in the edit summary for lack of the better option atleast this keeps all the text the one colour Gnevin (talk) 23:29, 10 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Gaultier GAA, and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Gaultier. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Replaceable fair use Image:Eoinmurphy.jpg

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Eoinmurphy.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Hello, there. I have noticed (with some delay) that you have re-created a deleted succession template. That template was deleted in the course of a general cleanup in this area, which was intended to remove many of these rather complex templates. Its functions have been taken over by the much simpler templates of the s-start series. Please tell me, is there a specific reason why you have re-created this template? If not, it would probably be better to re-delete the template. I have just gone to Kaká, the only article transcluding it, and brought its succession box up to SBS standards, so it is currently used nowhere. A tag has been placed on Chore of Enchantment, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the page appears to have no meaningful content or history, and the text is unsalvageably incoherent.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

If the page you created was a test, please use the sandbox for any other experiments you would like to do. Feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Avi15 (talk) 13:53, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry but what is wrong with my article about Anthony Kirwan. He is a famous player of the irish game of hurling and played at the top level of the sport for a number of years with a top team in the country ? ManfromDelmonte (talk) 13:55, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Who the hell do you think you are messing with my user page. If you persist with this kind of vandalism you will be banned on wikipedia. ManfromDelmonte (talk) 18:50, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
kk look, from personal experience, my own articles are placed on speedy deletion even though at the time they're under construction. When I placed the speedy deletion tag on your article and talk page, I made 2 inferences: *1. It was a pretty lousy article at the time with little content, *and your talk page is littered with 'speedy deletion' warnings and notices. . . I just assumed you were a repeat offender. - No offence --Avi15 (talk) 01:12, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

sockpuppet

[edit]

Hey mate, dont go around accusing me a sockpuppetry, you have no verification for your claims. As I said, I placed your article up for deletion becuase it was lousy - (nonsense; hardly any content). If you need any proof of my innocence simply refer to my contributions: as you can see everything's legit. For future reference: before badmouthing other users you dislike to admins due to speedy deletion tags, review your personal writing skills. If you had the ability to write better articles, they wouldn't be placed up for deletion! No hard feelings --Avi15 (talk) 14:00, 3 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

ManfromDelmonte, if you ask me, I don't think you should take Avi15 too lightly. After Avi15 vandalized Shindler's List, your user page, and my user and talk pages, there is no doubt in my mind that he/she is a sock. It looks like Avi15 is currently 202.130.192.218, so it is in my best interest that we take extra precautions and block Avi15 and possibly the IP if the problem persists. Cheers, ~ Troy (talk) 01:01, 4 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

McX is sorted as Macx

[edit]

Hi there, I see you have being undoing some of my sorting. Just to let you know, for future reference, that on wikipedia, McX is always sorted as Macx, e.g. McGrath is Macgrath. This is so all the Mc's and Mac's are grouped together. See Wikipedia:Categorization_of_people#Other_exceptions for more info. Tx, Snappy56 (talk) 10:33, 11 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

hCalendar microformat

[edit]

Hi,

I'd like to add hCalendar microformat mark-up to the template on your user page - but I think it would be better if you created a reusable template for each row, first. Andy Mabbett | Talk to Andy Mabbett 16:01, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. I have no idea what you're on about. ManfromDelmonte (talk) 16:50, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Rather than hard-coding the table rows, you should use a template for each. See, for example, {{DoctorWhoEpisodeBody}}, and how it is used on, say, The Seeds of Death. Andy Mabbett | Talk to Andy Mabbett 16:55, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Ah I see. Is it difficult ? I'm guessing we'd only do this for any new players who already don't have the original template on their page ? ManfromDelmonte (talk) 16:57, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's only as difficult as you choose to make it (by adding optional components, or automatic population based on keywords, say). Such templates should initially be used for new instances, but could be applied to existing pages as and when people feel like doing so, to gain the additional benefits the template would bring - there could be no compulsion. Andy Mabbett | Talk to Andy Mabbett 17:02, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I have no problem if it makes things easier for everybody anyways. ManfromDelmonte (talk) 17:05, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thanks - do you know what to do, or do you need help? Andy Mabbett | Talk to Andy Mabbett 18:00, 31 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Since you seem to have made a few edits to this template in the past, could you possibly check if it's up to date ? I've just made a few changes to the article about Tom Gleeson, and notice that his name isn't in the template (assuming that it should be !).Thanks :-) CultureDrone (talk) 11:57, 4 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Saint saviours.gif)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Saint saviours.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Image help

[edit]

Hi!

You seem to be primarily a hurling man, so not sure if you'll be able to help me out, but I'll try anyway. I uploaded a picture of the recent Railway Cup football match between Munster and Ulster and loaded in onto a few pages. Problem is I'm not totally sure who the Munster player in the picture is, which means I can't write a proper caption below the image. He's number 12 and I can see from the team list number 12 is M O'Gorman from Waterford, but I'm not 100% sure what the M stand for. I'm not totally sure but I seem to remember a Maurice O'Gorman playing for Waterford recently, is this him, or does the M stand for something totally different. Here's a link to the image. Thanks. Derry Boi (talk) 00:53, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks, especially for the quick reply! Keep up the great work you're doing, especially on Waterford GAA articles. Derry Boi (talk) 01:24, 28 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

David Beckham

[edit]

To be honest, I'm not really sure. There will be some people that say he should go in Category:A.C. Milan players, and there will be others who say he shouldn't. Either way, he officially becomes registered with the club tomorrow, and it is extremely likely that he will play against Roma at the weekend, so I don't see the harm in waiting. – PeeJay 21:31, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

RE: Photos

Hey, no problems. I usually just check the Ulster Council website from time to time as all their images are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 License, and upload any good ones. Derry Boi (talk) 10:35, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Irish rugby flag

[edit]

So far as I am concerned the four provinces flag is infinitely preferable to the present farce but it's not really in my power to say "yay" or "nay" to it.

The discussion is here. The 6Ns will probably be over before we get a solution. This has been bubbling over for a few years now.GordyB (talk) 18:39, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The various options are still being discussed at the Wikiproject talk page but I think it likely that the four province flag will eventually be adopted.GordyB (talk) 09:34, 20 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[[Category:Hypothetical second category]]

We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Brendan McCann. Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring these articles up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 402 article backlog. Once the articles are adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the list:

Speedy deletion of Template:Infobox hurler

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Template:Infobox hurler requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.

If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes (<noinclude>{{transclusionless}}</noinclude>).

Thanks. Teester (talk) 22:45, 30 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Offaly and Waterford hurling rivalry has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

A "rivalry" existing of two games? Where are the sources that discuss this "rivalry" specifically? Not all combinations of clubs that played against one another in a sport are a notable subject.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Fram (talk) 14:47, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why threaten with speedy deletion? Rather harsh sounding template there. Anyway, I removed the prod, since I found after a brief search of Google news, plenty of detail coverage of this rivalry, and added a good link to the article about this, there more out there if anyone cared to add it. Don't be discouraged by others. If you believe something is notable enough to have an article on Wikipedia, then you should strive to make it happen. Just remember to use Google news and Google Book search to find reliable sources to link to, to prevent anyone from trying to delete it outright. Dream Focus 05:16, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In addition, I will update article. While there has only been 2 games between the teams in the All Ireland Senior Hurling Championship, there is usually at least one game between them in the national hurling league. There has also been a good rivalry between the teams at both minor and u21 level. ManfromDelmonte (talk) 10:17, 3 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged revisions, underwent a two-month trial which ended on 15 August 2010. Its continued use is still being discussed by the community, you are free to participate in such discussions. Many articles still have pending changes protection applied, however, and the ability to review pending changes continues to be of use.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under level 1 pending changes and edits made by non-reviewers to level 2 pending changes protected articles (usually high traffic articles). Pending changes was applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. License tagging for File:Warwickshire colours.PNG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Warwickshire colours.PNG. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 18:06, 9 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Upload your free media to Commons, please!

[edit]

It is better if your free images can be uploaded to Wikimedia Commons as opposed to Wikipedia. Freely licensed or public domain media are more accessible to other Wikimedia projects if placed on Commons. Thank you: Jay8g (talk) 16:43, 20 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited N40 road (Ireland), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Bandon (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Orphaned non-free media (File:All Ireland football logo.PNG)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:All Ireland football logo.PNG.

You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited 2013 Munster Senior Hurling Championship Final, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page John Allen (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The file File:N40 national IE.png has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unused, low-res, no obvious use

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

This bot DID NOT nominate any file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 01:00, 26 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
