Polow da Don

I blocked that IP rather than semi-protect the article. If he comes back, let me know—I need at least two IPs (preferably more) and I can calculate a rangeblock, but I can't calculate one with just one IP. Cheers, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 03:51, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Tre' Shon Jenkins

I can answer this as the idiot adds it to numerous Kesha pages. Its multiple IP's purposely adding incorrect content, like you said its either him trying to build a reputation or its actually his name and he just needs to find a hobby -__-. Its obvious vandalism so just remove it if you see it. Hope you're well. - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 07:18, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

I removed some I could spot, but as there is a range of IPs, it would take some time, I guess. I researched on him again, but could not verify. Seems like you are right Lakeshade. Novice7 | Talk 12:59, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Jenkins

There are about 20 cases right now: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special%3ASearch&redirs=0&search=Tre%27+Shon+Jenkins&fulltext=Search&ns0=1

My advice: fix those, and find the edits where it was inserted. Then go over to WP:Edit filter/Requested and see if anyone will write a filter to detect it. Make sure not to exaggerate the scope: if people think you are exaggerating, they tend to say no.—Kww(talk) 15:11, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Poison GA

Do you think maybe we could get "Poison" to GA? --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 17:40, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Re: J.Lo disco

Haha yeah. I was just gonna wait to do it all in my sandbox, but decided not to bother. I moved the J to tha Lo singles to promo singles, but I'm kinda unsure about it. I mean, some of them had CD single releases, but they look more like a Why Don't You Love Me (Beyoncé Knowles song) type of release, but not just digitally. nding·start 20:18, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I get what you mean. Right now I'm trying to get a few of the articles fixed up and add sources so we can determine the status. Currently I'm working on Ain't It Funny, it's a mess. This one looks like a promo single. It was first released with the original. And later appeared on the remix album. nding·start 20:48, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
Hmm, true, but I'm pretty sure only one should be listed in the disco. I think the infobox for the Murder Remix should be added into the main one. Interesting story. I'll try to expand this article.. sometime. xD Right now I'm fixing up some of her albums. Her articles are complete messes! nding·start 21:24, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
I never heard of that scandal before, so idk what to say either. xD I'm not really sure. It's kind of a huge project from the looks of it. Probably more of a summer job. ;) I am currently listening to her remix album all the way through for the first time, and my god, it is amazing! nding·start 21:28, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
Haha, yeah, me too. "On the Floor" is so hot. But I prefer "Good Hit" - it's just the shit. The video was just... *dies*. I've liked her ever since I stole her album (J.Lo (album)) from my parents in like 04/05. xD nding·start 21:54, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

PS THX about the userpage. I saw yours and figured it out on my own (I'm a web designer). I Help, When I Can.[12] 02:36, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
I would love it if you could. Still working on my first GA... Hopefully I will get one soon. You yourself have done a wonderful job and are an inspiration to others and not just myself. I thank you for that. I Help, When I Can.[12] 02:49, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
Back in the day, I worked on the Danity Kane articles. Now that they are broken up and done, I plan on wrapping those articles up with a GA bow. BTW, when you work on Better Than Today, try to back up the cites with WebCite. Actually, User:Cprice1000 already did it, but they forgot to actually put it IN the cites...I Help, When I Can.[12] 03:12, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Can you explain to me what this website is exactly, and how it is considered an official download spot? nding·start 02:54, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Ah, alright. Thanks for telling me. I started seeing it being used, and got really confused. xD One quick question, does No Hay Igual seem like an official single to you, or just promo? nding·start 02:59, 24 January 2011 (UTC)
I have found two different ones Amazon - April 11 and iTunes - April 24. Still looking. April 18 - vinyl nding·start 03:07, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Alright. I'm gonna have to find some sources for a date for Promiscuous. nding·start 03:14, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Okay, I really need to know WTF her label was thinking. I just found an iTunes link for Maneater dating it back to May 8, a day before the date of Promiscuous I found see here. On top of that, I can't find one source for Te Busqué being released as a single. nding·start 03:31, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

Hold It Against Me

Hey, sorry but it's been a while since I've been editing on wiki. With regards to the 'label', one thing to keep in mind is the differing nature of digital download versus traditional brick-and-mortar marketplaces. Saying 'Sony Music' is the label for markets that operate the Sony Music label as a standalone/frontline is correct for physical releases, because these offices were set up in each territory by the parent to handle the promotion and distribution of material emanating from the source producer, the frontline labels. These offices operate in those countries in order to have access and deal with local distribution systems/infrastructures to get their product on the shelves of stores in that particular country, to get it on radio stations, etc.

However, with the notion of digital distribution, these vast physical infrastructures are no longer relevant; The internet serves as the transmission mechanism and is readily available in any location with a computer/internet connection. So in effect, digital distribution is not handled by each national office directly. Instead a more centralized approach is possible and can be handled by a sole agent. For Sony Music, this agent for the most part, is "SONY Music Entertainment Downloads LLC". http://www.amazon.com/Hold-It-Against-Me/dp/B004ISGC66/ref=sr_shvl_album_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1295905563&sr=301-1 They are the sales agent who 'release' the song to iTunes and other digital storefronts, and waiver off international rights (as to which territory it'll be released to). However, take a typical country other than the US/UK, where the frontline label is the parent company name, Sony Music, (due to the fact of only having one centralized physical office) and it'll be 'Sony Music' that will be used in the promotion of a Jive recording.

So the greater question is what exactly does the 'label' entry in the table supposed to refer to? The originating label, the label used for promotion in the given territory, or the sales agent, or some combination of the above? Under those three assertions, we would have Jive, Sony Music, and Sony Music Downloads, respectively, as the label for most markets other that the US/UK. Furthermore, (p) symbol you see in iTunes is a standard indication of the phonographic copyright holder of the song, and the owner obviously does not change, regardless of who is mandated to release/promote the material around different territories. On the Floor radio add

You think it's ready? --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 23:03, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

RIAA

That page seems misleading, since the website's other pages on how their certifications work 1 and their definition of "shipment" 2 support the version used at the wikipedia article that lists various countries' certification basis. Dan56 (talk) 02:50, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Perhaps this matter would be better discussed with editors at WP:Albums, as there is contradictory information about certifications/basis here and there? Dan56 (talk) 03:13, 25 January 2011 (UTC)

Re: No Boys Allowed

Hey thanks for that. I will now change it to TWYLM then? Also, could you please expand the commerical performance section because the album has made its debut on the UK charts. Ozurbanmusic (talk) 05:07, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Ok thanks! yeah I can wait till tomorrow. And by the way, on the When Love Takes Over article, I think this cover should be mentioned as well. Her name is Hayley Teal and she performed the song on the Australian version of The X Factor. Ozurbanmusic (talk) 05:29, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
Hey Lil Unique, I'm still waiting for you to expand the 'commercial performance' section on the No Boys Allowed article. I hope you don't mind. You do it better than me, but if your busy then don't worry about it. Ozurbanmusic (talk) 05:40, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
Thank you! it looks great. I hope this album does well, there are a lot of great songs on it. Ozurbanmusic (talk) 00:01, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
I love that song too! I think it should be the next single. For some reason it reminds of Rihanna lol. Breaking Point and TWYLM were bad choices. Ozurbanmusic (talk) 00:23, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Tray J

Hi! I saw your post at Kevin's talk. The IP added Tre' Shon Jenkins to many articles, and in some articles as "Tray J". Did he sing bg vocals on Britney Spears' Circus? I don't see it in liner notes. Novice7 | Talk 05:36, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Me too. I searched after I saw it on the Circus article and found this. It says "submitted by Tre' Shon Jenkins". I guess he is a normal user. Novice7 | Talk 05:43, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
I suspect that too. Like this. Novice7 | Talk 05:49, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Oh, I saw your contributions to Whitney articles. I will soon be working on her discography and debut album articles. I would love to have your help :) Novice7 | Talk 05:57, 23 January 2011 (UTC)

Do you plan on finishing I Look to You and nominating it for GA? Novice7 | Talk 16:04, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
I did think of doing Million Dollar Bill, but dropped as it was not "epic Whitney material" in my words. But I did work on Just Whitney a lot.. Oh well, thanks again for reviewing and hope to work on Whitney articles some day :) Novice7 | Talk 16:23, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
Okay. Thanks. Novice7 | Talk 16:32, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
I've added the edits that I removed. Did I put it correctly? Novice7 | Talk 03:27, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
For some pages, the edits seem to be done long ago (Lolene). Even J.R. Rotem's page has his name, but I didn't remove it as I don't know if the song really exists.. Novice7 | Talk 03:44, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Oh, do you know if Brandy Norwood ever record a song called "Imaginary Boyfriend"? I heard the song, and to my surprise, it is kind of cool. The file says "Written for Brandy Norwood," "By Tre' Shon Jenkins," and produced by "Bangladesh"? Novice7 | Talk 03:44, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
I don't see it on Youtube, but when I searched on Google see this. I had to download it, lol. Also, Google.com gives suggestions for Tre' Shon :O Novice7 | Talk 12:59, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Actually, I kinda like it. But, no reliable sources mention anything about this song. Novice7 | Talk 13:11, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Lol, "the link" :D Yep, I found that out. A little more research reveals that it might by an artist called Antena Birchett (haven't heard about a person like this at all). The Trey guy might either be someone who works, but never gets credits or a ghost songwriter-producer like you said... Novice7 | Talk 13:36, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, I typed Antena instead of Antea. Thanks about telling who she is. So, how did he get coverage on file sharing websites??? Novice7 | Talk 13:43, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Take Care

Omg, "Take Care" by J.Lo leaked, and it's so amazing! :O nding·start 23:18, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Of course, being pro-R&B/urban, I'd have to say the cut is by far my favorite from her leaked material. However the only disadvantage is the overly-processed vocals, but they may be better on the mastered version. Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 23:24, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, I guessed it's probably a demo. Damn, she has been slaying me. But still "Good Hit" is still the best. <3 nding·start 03:58, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
Its a demo, and albeit and atrocious one. The music is really good but such a poo poo quality. — Legolas (talk2me) 19:12, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
Well its kinda like the first version of "On the Floor." The song still isn't my favorite, but its grown on me other than that first version that was floating around. Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 20:44, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

Actually I didn't nominate it for a GA. I reviewed it. I was also doubtful about the issue and asked both Candyo32 and Petergriffin9901. They said it's okay, so I continued. Please see this. I'm really sorry if I've made a big mistake. Novice7 | Talk 13:20, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

WikiCup 2011 January newsletter

We are half way through round one of the WikiCup. Signups are now closed, and we have 129 listed competitors, 64 of whom will make it to round two. Congratulations to The Bushranger (submissions), who, at the time of writing, has a comfortable lead with 228 points, followed by Zanzibar Hurricanehink (submissions), with 144 points. Four others have over 100 points. Congratulations also go to Greece Yellow Evan (submissions), who scored the first points in the competition, claiming for Talk:Hurricane King/GA1, Principality of Sealand Miyagawa (submissions), who scored the first non-review points in the competition, claiming for Dognapping, and United Kingdom Jarry1250 (submissions) who was the first in the competition to use our new "multiplier" mechanic (explanation), claiming for Grigory Potemkin, a subject covered on numerous Wikipedias. Thanks must also go to Jarry1250 for dealing with all bot work- without you, the competition wouldn't be happening!

A running total of claims can be seen here. However, numerous competitors are yet to score at all- please remember to submit content soon after it is promoted, so that the judges are able to review entries. The number of points that will be needed to reach round two is not clear- everyone needs to get their entries in now to guarantee their places! If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, or by email. Good luck! It's not "cotentious", at all, but it's a little strange. Tbhotch* ۩ ۞ 05:24, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
I think my last reply on my talk page should be more explanatory in this case to both you Unique, and Tbhotch. You were never involved in any Madonna article, I don't see any reason for you not to review it. — Legolas (talk2me) 11:01, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Did you see??

Did you see that OTF has moved to the Top 50 of CHR? Man, this is her first CHR entering single since Do It Well. She's really doing things correctly right? And did you see the dance moves she has for the video? Those fab abs are back, and that booty. :P — Legolas (talk2me) 12:12, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Strip Me GA

Don't you think it's a bit early to nominate this for GA? It's only been released in North America so far. By the way, you did a great job on it! nding·start 21:15, 1 February 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, that makes sense. And I don't think much about the album would change anyway if it were to be released in other places, just the charts and stuff. It's sad to see the album do bad, it's actually really good. :( She should just ditch the US like Nicole is doing (which I kind of find tragic.) nding·start 00:53, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
Hmm... I don't know. I read on a different article about her mentioning "Starting Over" to be on the album, but I can't find it again. I agree with you completely. :( She need some variety. I'm not here for just Dream and Tricky. xD Needing some Danja and some D'Mile, and StarGate. :( And Darkchild of course! nding·start 19:06, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

Stereo Love

How hard are you for this genius of a track? — Legolas (talk2me) 06:23, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Never hard? I suggest you listen to "Justify My Love", while watching the video. Actually the reason I was asking, coz I thought of steamrolling the above article through GA. Could have used your help with some of the other languages. "On the Floor" seems like is losing spins, but gaining on audience, and already crossed "Do It Well". — Legolas (talk2me) 16:19, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

Great work you've been doing to the article! Such a master crafter you! I honestly can't wait any longer for her album to come out. It's been too long of a wait. nding·start 03:38, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

I really hope it gets a US release. I can't stand her not releasing things elsewhere. I'm sure you have no problem with it being in the UK haha. I doubt that it would get nominated for deletion, it's an extremely notable article, that just has yet to be released. :P I don't think anybody would question your judgment of moving it to the mainspace. nding·start 03:45, 11 February 2011 (UTC)

Hellooo

I know ya onna break, but I was gonna drop into tell you about the DDM remix, but I see you've already update the AOF remix. And I totally co-sign your suggestion on the "Whip My Hair" page, and I had suggested that before, but they said removing all the information from the page was what needed to be done. They haven't responded back yet. Its such a drag that they've barely even been on Wiki this whole year then come to make a stir on the page. But jumping to CiCi right quick, when the radio date was first announced, I thought it kind of strange that they were setting a March 8th date already back in January. Makes you wonder...Candyo32 02:56, 13 February 2011 (UTC)

Did you see Ciara's statement today? Woooaaaaaaa. Candyo32 01:44, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
OMG It was awful! Sounds like a JLo cover up, really. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 01:50, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
Ughh, I just hope she can get outta Jive. But even when you look back retrospectively, Ciara has really never had any big gigs performing her songs anyway, her promo over there isn't work crap. But changing on a lighter note to Xtina, can you say the Grammys wree a career re-definer for her? Yolanda Adams was wonderful, but Christina was definitely the standout - powerful, yet restrained when she needed to be. And now I can prove to Nathan that SHE DOES have a wonderful falsetto and not a "nasty voice" lol. I say she go slow for a few months, record, and get a new album out by the winter. Candyo32 02:39, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

"Raining Men" by Rihanna

Raining men Was recorded in 2010 because the whole was recorded in 2010. U know this don't you? Dbunkley6 (talk) 18:16, 14 February 2011 (UTC)

Hey Unique. I can't believe what that person said on the "Raining Men" talk page. Like, WTF? Did you report them? nding·start 03:14, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Good. I really can't believe that! IP users in general piss me off so much. The odd thing is the user only has two contribs, both on the talk page. I know that doesn't have to do with this, but still. It seems like anyone can do anything nowadays. nding·start 03:19, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
Yeah I know what you mean. And what does anyone's real life have to do with a song being a single or not? That just makes no sense, and is actually a bit funny. Haha well god I can't believe they did that. I was so damn excited! Now I'm only watching to see how great Xtina did, and see how weird Gaga dressed. xD nding·start 03:35, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Wow! I just read Ciara's Facebook post. How sad. I feel so bad for her. Fantasy Ride and Basic Instinct were actually really good albums. The promo just lacked. Interscope should sing her and give her a chance. They are like the best label out there now IMO. nding·start 03:42, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

I think Jive is about as good as it gets. GaGa is pretty much the only Interscope artist that has been promoted right. They have failed to launch Agnes and Nicole so far. Jive has blown up just about all of their artists. Basic Instinct was just another Brave: a career slump. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 03:47, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
I'd say Interscope does what it sets out to do. For an R&B artist, Keri Hilson is with them and she got to promote what needed to be done with No Boys Allowed. Keyshia Cole did some pretty good last-minute promo too, and she's with them. And then all the shizz Diddy is doing, but that's in part because he's with his own Bad Boy Records, but Interscope must help with some funding. Candyo32 03:58, 15 February 2011 (UTC)
MY guess from Cici's comments is she wants to be independnet. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 04:04, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Wow! I am pissed. I taped the Grammys and never watched them yet. I can't believe she didn't perform. Was she even there? nding·start 03:05, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Go Girl

I think it's safe to say it's just a non-album single. It's not on the main version of Fantasy Ride, and was just put on the Japan version. I don't think that would qualify as a single from the whole album. Don't you think? nding·start 23:49, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, that makes sense. I get what you mean. I was just having some doubts as it wasn't really featured on the main album. And I forgot about that whole T.I. thing. Weird how it's the lead single and it's not on the album. Same here. :L They tried hard to make it look like it didn't exist how I see it. :L nding·start 00:03, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
Haha god. They have to be one of the worst labels ever! They fucked with so artists. J.Lo, Kelly, Avril, Xtina, etc. nding·start 00:09, 16 February 2011 (UTC)

Born This Way's iTunes sales

Hi!

It is said here[2] quite clearly that no sales figures from one retailer should be added, so that's why I deleted the iTunes info you wrote. In other words, only official, comprehensive statistics like those published by IFPI for example (or sources citing IFPI) are allowed. (E.g., check the sales for "Bad Romance"[3]) -- Frous (talk) 21:19, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

Whitney Houston

When you use that evidence, you actually have a very strong point about Whitney Houston's songwriting credits. However, what about Céline Dion? As far as I've researched, she's co-written only about 3-4 released songs out of roughly 150 singles, not including possible unreleased songs and non-singles. If the same rule applies throughout most Wikipedia articles, then why is Dion creditied as a singer, songwriter-composer and actress in her infobox when she rarely writes her own songs? Please explain...

One more thing. As for production credits, Houston is credited as being a producer on four out of her seven studio albums. For evidence, see the following pages: I'm Your Baby Tonight, My Love is Your Love, One Wish: The Holiday Album and I Look to You. In my opinion, this makes quite eligible to be credited as a record producer, either executive or music. This possibly means she is able to play the piano as well as sing. Your thoughts would be well appreciated. Discovermine (talk) 23:19, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

I see what you mean. Alright then, I will accept your decision and leave Houston's article as is. Thank you. Discovermine (talk) 23:25, 22 February 2011 (UTC)

singlechart

I'll have to add in some better error screening code. That's a result of not entering the artist and song title. The Austria case is strange, and I still don't know the right answer: Hung Medien displays 75 positions on a chart that it calls the Top 40. It's hard to be consistent when the sources are inconsistent.—Kww(talk) 19:39, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

TFM

I hope they release a big press release when the track list for Born This Way comes out. And in it I really hope they set the record straight on whether it's an EP or not. Honestly, it could go either way. There are sources that it's an EP, and that it's her second STUDIO album. It would be great if they said something like: "the release is following the release of her the 2009 EP (or saying second studio album, ofc) The Fame Monster." Let's hope they aren't like Sony and leave everything hanging. nding·start 21:20, 23 February 2011 (UTC)

Yay!! It's #2. But, Iglesias is #1 on Mediabase. JLo is too far from top 5 there. – Novice7 (talk) 03:36, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
A top 5 debut would be perfectly fine with me. She's coming!! I actually didn't expect the song to blow up right away. Boy was I wrong. nding·start 03:53, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
The sales would have to be big for a top 5 debut. Glee's Firework made #1 on iTunes, but debuted within the top forty on Hot 100. I hope On the Floor doesn't become like that. – Novice7 (talk) 05:17, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
Being #2 on iTunes is no big deal. Wait and see what it does on Billboard. I've been watching that weekly since late 2010 and observed one week ago today the debut of "Born This Way" at #1, making it the 1,000th Hot 100 #1 song. Look at the chart next Thursday and see if we have any kind of similar performance (though 1,000th ever is taken *LOL*). I can confirm, having scanned for debuts already, that it's not there this week. CycloneGU (talk) 07:25, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

I didn't expect the song to blow up at all. It seems like everywhere I go people hate her, but now it looks like a No.2 debut, which I'm cool with. I wish it could force off BTW... --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 22:26, 24 February 2011 (UTC)

I'm thinking top-thirty or forty personally because there's not enough radio support yet. However with some luck... if radio spins increase in the coming weeks "OTF" could become a top-twenty or even top-ten hit!! — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 04:39, 27 February 2011 (UTC)

WikiCup 2011 February newsletter

So begins round two of the WikiCup! We now have eight pools, each with eight random contestants. This round will continue until the end of April, when the top two of each pool, as well as the next 16 highest scorers of those remaining, will make it to round three. Congratulations to The Bushranger (submissions) (first, with 487 points) and Zanzibar Hurricanehink (submissions) (second, with 459), who stormed the first round. Scotland Casliber (submissions) finished third with 223. Twelve others finished with over 100 points- well done to all of you! The final standings in round one can be seen here. A mere 8 points were required to reach round two; competition will no doubt be much more fierce this round, so be ready for a challenge! A special thanks goes, again, to United Kingdom Jarry1250 (submissions) for dealing with all bot work. This year's bot, as well as running smoothly, is doing some very helpful things that last year's did not. Also, thanks to Bavaria Stone (submissions) for some helpful behind-the-scenes updating and number crunching.

Some news for those who are interested- March will see a GAN backlog elimination drive, which you are still free to join. Organised by WikiProject Good articles, the drive aims to minimise the GAN backlog and offers prizes to those who help out. Of course, you may well be able to claim WikiCup points for the articles you review as part of the drive. Also ongoing is the Great Backlog Drive, looking to work on clearing all of the backlogs on Wikipedia; again, incentives are offered, and the spirit of friendly competition is alive, while helping the encyclopedia is the ultimate aim. Though unrelated to the WikiCup, these may well be of interest to some of you.

Just a reminder of the rules; if you have done significant work on content this year and it is promoted in this round, you may claim for it. Also, anything that was promoted after the end of round one but before the beginning of round two may be claimed for in round two. Details of the rules can be found on this page. For those interested in statistics, a running total of claims can be seen here, and a very interesting table of that information (along with the highest scorers in each category) can be seen here. Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. I guess her acting career is probably why she never did, she probably didn't have any time to tour. Hopefully her upcoming tour will doing amazing. They need to label it her "first ever concert tour" and say she's performing all her hits, etc. And hooray at "On the Floor" peaking in the top ten so far. :) I really hope it gets to #1. nding·start 12:33, 7 March 2011 (UTC)

Nicole Scherzinger

Hi there!

I accept your point regarding the lack of a source for the Nicole Scherzinger singles being promotional. However, I do think you have a misunderstanding about what a 'promotional single' can be.

For example, in the Wikipedia article for 'Promotional recording' or 'Promotional single' it states, "iTunes and other markets have recently began distributing promotional singles for a price separate from their parent albums." A recent example of this is when The Black Eyed Peas released "Do It Like This" as a promotional single for their recent album The Beginning.

There is also further information regarding this in an AOL article detailing the release of promotional singles to iTunes individually. These tracks, like those of Scherzinger, were not released to radio, nor given a video release or promotion, they were released as promotional tools for the artist and parent album. They are also not listed in the artist's discography section. Also, couldn't this sentence: "Neither was released to radio because they did not chart of downloads and so the label felt there was not point releasing them..." be regarded as Wikipedia:OR? (I'm aware this is not in the article but it could be the basis for you keeping Scherzinger's songs as official singles).

I also noticed in the history section for Mary J. Blige's "Each Tear" single, you stated "Stairway to Heaven" was a 'promo single', even though that was given an iTunes release. By your definition, "Songs which were released for downloads cannot simply be called promotional singles" - wouldn't this be contradictory? Sadly, there is no source detailing this specifically for Scherzinger, so we'll stick with what you have at present. TopopMAC1 (talk) 03:43, 14 March 2011 (UTC)

R.e. "Stairway to Heaven" you did state "(Undid revision 406180090 by Dluisboi (talk) stairway to heaven was a promo single)" which it wasn't, as by your definition it was an official single (and you edited the page in 2011). I also gave you links to sources to back up the promotional singles argument, such as the AOL and Top 40 articles as they detailed information regarding promotional singles to iTunes. Katy Perry also did the same, as detailed in this article. I was not using Wikipedia:OR regarding this. If you disagree with articles by major corporations such as AOL, fair enough but it doesn't mean they're incorrect. AOL are, however, a reliable source. I guess we'll agree to disagree on this one! One more day, I cannot wait!!!!!! :) And "Don't Hold Your Breath" is just smashing up iTunes where it was released. Interscope knows where they need to target for Nicole's chart domination, that's for sure. nding·start 10:53, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

Uh oh. Could LA Reid leaving Def Jam this cause J.Lo any trouble with her album, or her recording contract? nding·start 20:07, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

Haha, thank god. I got a little scared and was like "NOT AGAIN". Yay!! I'm just getting to listening to the album now. :D It kept me going all day. (Last day before spring break begins... woo!) Yeah, I don't think that will be possible until Monday. xD Unless maybe if someone uploads scans or something on a fansite. I guess the US release is gonna be quite different, I believe she said something about it on her Twitter. I really hope "Cold" is on there and her song with Steven Tyler. Pressing play to listen to the album now... So pumped!! Now Christina Milian & Cassie have to release their albums. xD nding·start 19:40, 18 March 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for finally getting that user to quit it on Killer Love. I had a bit of a war over it the other day. :P Great job on the expansion by the way too! I've so far listened to Killer Love 14 times all the way through, and it's still amazing at each listen. I love each and every track, but I'm gonna have to dub the title track as my favorite. I love the rock-ish vibe to it. I know Twitter isn't reliable, but that other user was right about Toby and Dave not producing it, the producer s/he added talked about it on Twitter. Nicole also said on her Twitter that she didn't write "Desperate". Guess we're gonna have to wait and see, but just wanted to tell you that. xD It's spring break here, so I'm gonna be working on Her Name is Nicole a bit and trying to finally get it to become an article. :D nding·start 20:56, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
Let's hope so. :D iTunes could be wrong, I don't think Nicole would lie and say she didn't write "Desperate". xD It will be out in the UK tomorrow, we should know all the credits by then. Are you planning on buying it (physically) tomorrow? I'm gonna be buying an import soon. xD I'm so anxious for the US release details. I really think they should release "Poison" over here. I think it would slay, personally. And isn't it amazing that DHYB debuted at #1 in the UK?! :O She's really coming for UK domination! I didn't like "Club Banger Nation" at first, but now I love it! It's so sick! nding·start 21:12, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, I expect that. I just hope they don't do some shit like they did with Esmee. I hope they don't ditch CBN. I honestly don't know which ones they could remove, I love them all. xD They'll probably get rid of a few of the ballads. Yeah, they will definitely add "Guns and Roses" and the Steven Tyler song. I really hope they add "Cold". :( I wouldn't even mind if they added some of the songs done for Her Name is Nicole, like "Physical", that song is just amazing. Just make it a bit more now, and it would be perfect. They seriously can't waste that song. I hope they don't change it up too much. They'll probably remove "You Will Be Loved" because of the yodeling, and possibly "Right There." ...I don't know, ARG! All I know is: "Poison", "Killer Love", "Don't Hold Your Breath", "Wet", "Power's Out", "Desperate", "Everybody" and "Casualty" better be on the US version. And for the singles, I don't think "Wet" should be released, it would get too many similarities between "Only Girl", but then again, I'd love to see a hot video for it, so I don't know. "Killer Love" for third single!!! nding·start 21:42, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

You've only bought one album?! :O I have a collection of over 100+. xD I have like OCD over having to own physical copies. :P And maybe you're right, "Killer Love", I don't think would do as well as "Poison" and "Don't Hold Your Breath", "Wet" is probably the best bet. "Killer Love" still needs to be a single. I say last single would be good. I'd love a video for "Club Banger Nation", I could just imagine "Whatever U Like"/Janet Jackson type video for it.

I'd love the singles internationally to go like...

  1. "Poison" (October 2010)
  2. "Don't Hold Your Breath" (March 2011)
  3. "Wet" (July 2011)
  4. "Casualty" (September 2011)
  5. "Killer Love" (November 2011)

And then another single from the US version. Possibly the one with Steven. nding·start 21:55, 20 March 2011 (UTC)

Hi there. Can you please explain to me the logic behind singling out the GCC certification for She Wolf (album)? I mean, the album was certified in 11 places, and the GCC is probably one of the least notable, why mention it and not any of the other? In addition, so far 12 albums were certified platinum in the GCC, and none of the other albums singles out this certification, so why in this album? Is there something special I'm missing? Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 18:47, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

Hi there,
You reason for removing it is illogical. It is reliabley sourced. Instead you should look at expanding the section by including mentions of the the other certifications. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 18:49, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
I returned the conversation here rather than split it in two pages.
I never said it isn't sourced. I said the it looks bad when one of the least notable items is singles out. Imagine writing an article about a top athlete who won medals in the Olympics and in world championship, with a table of medals won. Yet on a section about the athlete's achievements you only mention he won a gold medal at a local championship in high school. Doesn't it look bad on the athlete? Isn't it better not to mention everything? This is exactly the same situation - the article already has a table with all the certifications, and it looks bad to single out one of the least significant ones, at least to me. --Muhandes (talk) 19:04, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
My point was that rather than remove the certification you should add mentions of the album's other ones. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 19:53, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
I understand that. And my point was that until someone does this, it's better to mention nothing than to mention the least notable certification. --Muhandes (talk) 21:51, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
Again that's illogical. Add an expansion tag instead. Its like saying iif someone starts writing a music video section but the section isn't massive, it should be deleted until someone can go through and expand it... — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 22:05, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

Shellback

Well at least here in Sweden, where I'm from, it's not mandatory to use the first of your names as your proper first name. For another example where the middle name is used as first name see August Strindberg (a Swedish author). In the same way Shellback's first name is Johan, with Karl added as kind of a prologue to that name. Chribba (talk) 18:55, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

Single covers

I don't wish to argue with you as I know we're trying to make Wikipedia more accurate!

R.e. "Ass on the Floor", the Rap-Up article did not confirm it to be an official single. As listed by the Outside Organisation, Diddy is a client of theirs. Also, the single has not been confirmed for an official release anywhere else apart from the UK. The article was also just a 'song' article prior to the UK single confirmation, which is why I think that cover should be used. The single cover in the Rap-Up article doesn't list the artist correctly either as per all the other single covers from the album.

R.e. The Each Tear single cover (in my opinion) used should have been the iTunes solo iTunes cover with Mary on alone as each market had a different cover, depending on the guest vocalist version released in that territory. But the most popular version was with Jay Sean, so I understand it being kept!

For the record, I think you do a great job keeping everything here accurate... those J.Lo reverts kept driving me nuts! TopopMAC1 (talk) 23:26, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

WikiCup 2011 March newsletter

We are half way through round two of the WikiCup, which will end on 28 April. Of the 64 current contestants, 32 will make it through to the next round; the two highest in each pool, and the 16 next highest scorers. At the time of writing, our current overall leader is Zanzibar Hurricanehink (submissions) with 231 points, who leads Pool H. Poland Piotrus (submissions) (Pool G) also has over 200 points, while 9 others (three of whom are in Pool D) have over 100 points. Remember that certain content (specifically, articles/portals included in at least 20 Wikipedias as of 31 December 2010 or articles which are considered "vital") is worth double points if promoted to good or featured status, or if it appears on the main page in the Did You Know column. There were some articles last round which were eligible for double points, but which were not claimed for. For more details, see Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring.

A running total of claims can be seen here. However, numerous competitors are yet to score at all- please remember to submit content soon after it is promoted, so that the judges are able to review entries. The number of points that will be needed to reach round three is not clear- everyone needs to get their entries in now to guarantee their places! Good luck! If you wish to start receiving or stop receiving this newsletter, please feel free to add or remove yourself from Wikipedia:WikiCup/Newsletter/Send. J Milburn and The ed17 01:00, 1 April 2011 (UTC)

According to Allmusic "Love?" has explicit lyrics. :O I'm actually shocked. I can't wait though. And also, they list the album's name as "LOVE?" so it looks like it may be stylized in caps. I'm not sure if that's needed or not on the article, just wanted to say that. "I'm Into You" is growing on me finally. I didn't care too much for it at first, but I really like it. Love? label

Hey, I noticed you added both 'island' and 'a' as labels for the album. Such a setup would be peculiar since both labels are under the same umbrella. I know the different blogs and news sites at the time reported her signing to 'def jam', but I would think this was more of a colloquialism in reference to 'Island Def Jam', if anything. Do you have any further evidence? If not, then it should be switched back to solely being marked Island Records, as evidenced by official sources. Imperatore (talk) 03:39, 2 April 2011 (UTC)

Thanks for clearing up your rationale. Fortunately you have addressed the same issues that commonly plague editors. Firstly, the phonographic copyright (p) for the Island Def Jam Group is generally always credited to the group itself, so if you pay attention to the vast majority of IDJ albums (whether island, def jam, mercury, or any of the other affiliated imprints), you'll notice a (c)&(p) credited to the group. Secondly, there's no doubt in my mind that references of her signing to 'Def Jam' were just vague colloquialisms to indicate IDJ, as I aforementioned. After all, her official statement or whatever on her website called Sony Music Entertainment: 'Sony Music Group', so her publicists aren't exactly paying attention to such details lol. As for the Yahoo article, a scenario like that is definitely interesting but I would think that was more speculation on the part of the author (and since it's been taken down it probably had other reporting issues anyway). It would be seriously strange if one division produced and the other takes up marketing while being directly under the same umbrella, at least to the point that such a setup goes beyond internal administration and is exhibited to the consumer (having both logos on the album). Now I know you're thinking that within IDJ there are several associated, often 'third party' imprints, which are usually controlled by artists/producers and which have the power to sign artists to the IDJ label system (ROC A FELLA, Disturbing tha peace, etc), but those imprints are a different story as that's what they're designed for; Effectively those imprints have contractual agreements to split different tasks between the main division and themselves.Imperatore (talk) 04:06, 3 April 2011 (UTC)
I also just remembered that Lady Gaga's wiki might ironically be a victim of this same issue. As you may know and from what is indicated on her page, she was originally signed to 'def jam' but was then dropped like three months later, and this was of course her first ever major label signing. Problem is I would think we have the same issue here as Lopez. It would only make sense that Gaga, who at that time was prior to hooking up with RedOne, was singing ballad-like pop/glam rock songs, just like on her amateur Stefani Germanotta credited album/demo 'Red & Blue'. A sound like this is definitely more conducive to the more pop / rock centric Island label, rather than the hip hop centric def jam label. So in reality this was probably an Island signing (or who've been if it's not determined 'on the spot' when signing), but there are no solid source to my knowledge (even the current source is not reliable). I think the most reliable sources, at best, say 'Island Def Jam', including an article by New York Magazine and possibly Billboard, which talk about how Reid supposedly slashed her from 'Island Def Jam' (Reid was president/CEO of IDJ, the entire umbrella) http://nymag.com/arts/popmusic/features/65127/index5.html So unfortunately, Gaga, who is among the top 20 or so most viewed wikis of our time, has 'def jam' as the first (chronologically ordered) signing in her infobox, something that is certainly not verifiable by accurate sources. The 'sourced' information because I'm pretty sure it's not true. Dermot O'Leary said in a video interview by word of his own mouth that he had made the shortlist to be the host for the US X Factor, and he said he was on the shortlist with 4 other people, but that they were all American. So that rules out Welsh Steve Jones immediately. Not only that, but I have yet to see any proof besides a few sources that tend to change their gossip daily that he's in the running, since I haven't seen any video or radio interviews where Simon or anyone else involved with the show mentions him, or where Steve Jones himself says this. But atlas, if you'd like me to leave it, I can. It's just most likely untrue. Then again I'm kind of biased after almost every American and especially British tabloid being wrong so far. 1Dbad (talk) 04:32, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

Re: Love?

Thanks for the reminder. I totally forgot about that. xD Yeah, I get what you mean. I was trying to find a reliable source saying so, but can't. I think we should really remove some of the songs listed on the article, tbh. I think we should only list ones confirmed to be on the album. It's a bit messy. And J.Lo said herself she was choosing between 20 recorded between 2009-2011, and there's 27 (I believe) on the page. nding·start 19:45, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

I realize that, but it's not a case of who says what, but how it's been said. I've seen Dermot say otherwise with his own mouth via a video interview, while I have seen nothing but written articles about Steve Jones, nothing from his own mouth. It's not a case of one person being more reliable than another but the way in which the info was received. It's just at this rate I'm believing things actually confirmed by celebrities themselves via interviews more than the gossip, since it seems to be changing on the daily. (and while it it possible Steve Jones could be being considered now, it just seems odd they would change their mind on the shortlist at the last minute like that) And while true, any gossip website would be aware of the recent gossip and could have fabricated the whole article and added stuff like that to make it seem more current and more likely. While that may not be the case, it still is a possibility. But fine, while it is sourced and from one that is okay from Wikipedia I will leave it. Do know this is nothing to do with Steve Jones but the way in which our info right now is being received, and the way things now seem to be contradicting prior official statements. 1Dbad (talk) 23:39, 3 April 2011 (UTC)

Comment?

Unique, there is an issue. An IP keeps on removing information about Susan Boyle cover from "I Know Him So Well" stating "it plummeted from its peak position and so is not notable". Re: I'm Into You

Yeah, it's coming along so well. You've done a great job with it! I think it's coming along very great! It's no problem really, I use Firefox, so it just underlines them. xD They actually use the "u"'s in the US too, I believe. I never do though. I'm sure both ways are okay anyway. But I'm not sure. I've never used the "u"'s, so. xD All we need is it to chart somewhere and it will be reliable enough to become its own article! :D Yeah, it really grew on me as well. It actually has more spins on my iTunes than "On the Floor". :O nding·start 02:00, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Was wondering if you could web citate this for "The Story of Us". I haven't a clue how to use it. And I noticed it was done to "On the Floor", so I assumed you would have done it. :P nding·start 02:52, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Nicki Minaj singles chronology

Noticing you doing some fiddling with the chronology. Just wanted to let you know I believe it's supposed to be sorted by alphabetical order if two releases are released on the same day, per {{Infobox album}} (see section 4). Yves (talk) 02:16, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

LOL so true. I tend to use album and single guidelines interchangeably since their projects are very much linked and similar to each other. I used this rule when deciding what the order would be with "2012 (It Ain't the End)" and "Letting Go (Dutty Love)", also both released on the same day, but I see the chronology on the respective single pages don't reflect that—it's all pretty inconsistent at the moment. I think having one chain is better because you can't present singles as a fork in navigation templates, album infoboxes, or discography articles. Yves (talk) 03:02, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Brazil Billboard Hot 100

Hi, I think in Wikipedia you have to use sources that everyone can check. I am from Spain and I have not access to the Billboard Magazine in Brazil. I am not saying the chart is fake but we can`t check it. I checked many songs charts in Wikipedia and any of them is ussing Brazil Billboard Hot 100. The same happen with Turkey top 20, it is on their Billboard magazine but we can`t use it as official because we can't check it.--Albes29 (talk) 10:51, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Your right about a reliable sources but for that you need to add at least a pic with the magazine to show what you are saying is true. People can say now that in that magazine Hold It Agaisnt Me was #1 and there is not way if you live out of Brazil to check if it is true or not. As I told you that is why on Wikipedia they almost never add the brazilian chart on the songs pages. Sorry for my english it is a bit difficult for me to explain you exactly what I want to say.--Albes29 (talk) 13:54, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
Ok, Thanks for the explanation. I will have to agree with the rule, even if I am not agree.;).--Albes29 (talk) 14:12, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Dutch Top 40 = Radio 538 but you said that Croatia and Iceland is not valid because it can't for the radio charts. So now I don't understand is how the Dutch Top 40. Dutch Top 40 must not be valid. In addition, Lady Gaga, "Born This Way" and Britney Spears "Hold It Against Me" Dutch Chart see list them as I have taken some other Dutch Top 100 Chart List. You're in conflict with yourself because it is available on both radio charts as well as you say, not doing the same thing, really very interesting. Please don't make changes. Thank you.

LOVE? track listing & "Louboutins"

F-I-N-A-L-Y!! It sounds so good to me! I can't wait to hear it! I'm glad they put on "Everybody's Girl" on the deluxe! Now that the track list is out, I'm gonna bring up an issue. I know that "Louboutins" was released as an official single, and I know that it was first released to promote LOVE?, but I don't think it should be considered as a single from the album. It was released as the first single back in 2009, and the original album where the song was promoted, but has since been changed. She also had changed record labels in between the singles release, and albums upcoming release. I find this kind of similar to Nicole's debut album. The original remains unreleased, and the singles are attached to the unreleased project. We don't list the 4 singles from that album as singles from Killer Love. I think the same should be done here. I think "Louboutins" should just be simply labeled a non-album single. I know you're probably against this, but I think we should at least maybe open a discussion about it, and see what people think. nding·start 23:54, 8 April 2011 (UTC)

I love all those songs, especially "Good Hit". I'm fine with it, really. I wish "Hooked on You" was a bonus track too though. I was really hoping for "Take Care" as the album closer, but when you think of it "Starting Over" is a good closer too. I wish there were more tracks on the standard though. What do you think about the "Louboutins" thing? You didn't reply to that. And I think we should change it to LOVE? or at least say like (stylized as LOVE?). nding·start 00:08, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, that'd be a good idea. Yeah, I saw the message on the talk page. That's what I was referring. Damn, that long? :O I'm not that much of a fan either. I don't like The-Dream at ALL after that whole thing with Christina (Milian). They make They have made some amazing productions though. "Good Hit" is my JAAAAMMM. "Villain" is just Tricky, and I love his solo work. I hope it's changed up a bit though. nding·start 00:18, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, I've heard it. I actually first listened to it a few months ago, and was jamming out to it for a bit. Can't wait to hear J.Lo's version. And LOL @ "Louboutins" 'japan bonus track?'. That would be a huge fail, and wouldn't make much sense at all. xD If anything, it might be a pre-order or iTunes bonus. Also, do you know any productions by this RADIO producer? I've never heard of him before. nding·start 00:48, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
Engineer, so kind of like how Ron Fair produced "Speechless" by Gaga? But technically was the audio engineer? Interesting. Can't wait to hear "Until It Beats No More". I think it's safe to move Love? (album) → LOVE?. J.Lo's website, Allmusic and Amazon all list it as such. nding·start 00:55, 9 April 2011 (UTC)
Yeah that's true. We should probably wait. LOVE could stand for something for all we know (ala The E.N.D.). nding·start 01:05, 9 April 2011 (UTC)

Nevermind, I see someone removed it on the Love? article, and you didn't revert it. nding·start 04:45, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
Haha, I know what you mean. It's forever going to be constantly removed. I think it's pretty safe though to just label it a non-album single. On a kind of similar note, I don't know if you saw this, but I added some promo singles to J.Lo's discography. Gonna source up them album appearances, and music videos, and fix links and shit, and hopefully nom for FLC. :) I'd be great if you could help out sometime. nding·start 04:55, 10 April 2011 (UTC)
Yay! It's so close! I really wanna get some of her singles done, but seriously, there's too many of them, and they are all in very bad shape, and it's just like -_____-' "fuck that shit". Sometime maybe they'll get done. xD I'd love for her main page to get a revamp soon as well, and get it as a FLC, ala Madonna's. A long way to go. xD Also get Jennifer Lopez filmography expanded a bit, and create a videography article, LOL. There's so much needed doing with her articles, it's unreal. nding·start 05:02, 10 April 2011 (UTC)

I don't know if you noticed, but I finally finished converting Jennifer Lopez discography, and I also moved the video releases & music videos to create Jennifer Lopez videography. If you have the time, it'd be great if you could reconstruct the lead over at her main discography (I suck to high heavens at them), and maybe at the new videography page as well, but the main focus right now is her main discography. I think that it needs to be a bit more sourced, and have some refs fixed in it, and I think it might be ready for FLC. nding·start 23:42, 11 April 2011 (UTC)

Strange requested move

Hi there, I just closed the requested move you started at Talk:She's Got Nothing On (But the Radio)#Requested move because, as far as I could tell, you wanted it moved to the title that it's already at (see She's Got Nothing On (But the Radio) → She's Got Nothing On (But the Radio)). Please feel free to tell me if I've been an idiot and missed something really obvious and I will revert my close. Cheers, Jenks24 (talk) 17:09, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

Hmmm that's quite strange. Anyway, I have undone my close (sorry about that) and I agree that the article should be moved over the redirect. Thanks for explaining, Jenks24 (talk) 18:47, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

People WILL NOT STOP recreating the article and making new articles to do it. I wish it could chart already. It's really starting to annoy me! We Have I'm Into You, I'm Into You (song) and I'm into You (that I'm aware of). nding·start 15:29, 13 April 2011 (UTC)

Pasted the information from the sandbox! The song has officially charted! :) I was gonna move it to the page, but I then realized I had used it before for other sandboxes (ugh, I know, I'm stupid), so all our edit counts on it are gone, but that doesn't really matter in the end anyway. xD nding·start 02:09, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

How can they be incorrect? On The Floor is officially a #1 in Germany, even if the site you gave me has not updated the page yet. http://top40-charts.com/chart.php?cid=12 <- that site has updated the chart (16/4) So, Scotland is a country now? It's not a UN member state, nor it is officially recognized by any other countries. It is just part of the United Kingdom which is the official country. http://geography.about.com/od/politicalgeography/a/scotlandnot.htm wikipedia does not descriminate against any country Really? The country "Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia" (recognized name by UN, EU) appears as "Macedonia" in Wikipedia. That's a discrimination.--Chronisgr (talk) 18:23, 14 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi Lil-unique1. Why have you done this? It is not in the tracklisting, as the source states. Angel talk to me 20:03, 15 April 2011 (UTC) That was not my intention. But it's ok, I'll just add that. Angel talk to me 20:21, 15 April 2011 (UTC)

Ms. Kelly

Is freaking NUMBER 41 on US iTunes!! For an R&B song in this dance-pop era, that's slaying. Urban was definitely the way to go. But once the song will max out on urban airplay will be when the sales fall, so, ughhh. Last train to paris

iTunes is more correct than allmusic, because people download the album directly from there. So theres no way they can put up a fake tracklist. Plus amazon has the same tracklist as iTunes, and it is reliable as well. Dirty Money's official even links their purchasing engine to itunes. So, I think the iTunes one is correct as allmusic is just what a label sends and not what is actually bought.--68.79.98.217 (talk) 00:12, 18 April 2011 (UTC)

Hey CLK, if I'm honest I kinda went inactive when both Lopez and Rowland delayed their projects. Im back cus both projects have picked up but with them have come a long train of new editors so its sometimes like teaching a new class of school kids how to read and write *sighs*. Re: LOVE? snippets

I love them all! I've been whoring them all for over an hour. I think the "Everybody's Girl" snippet is messed up, cuz it sounds very low quality. I love the changes done to "Villain", and the other songs we're already heard. I cannot wait for this album!! Disagree with "Charge Me Up", it does sound like a Kat type of song, but much better than her songs. Don't even get me started on the mess that is Inside Out. "Take Care" is one of my favorites off the album! I don't know people don't like it. It reminds me so much of This Is Me... Then, and I love that. nding·start 01:47, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

Sorta agree, but I actually like that it's under produced. I like the vibe it gives off. I honestly don't mind, the song is a damn masterpiece and should have been left as is. I don't really care about hearing part 2, if it leaks, that'd be cool, but if it doesn't, I won't be too broken up about it. Never heard anything from "This Cannot Be Love", so I don't know. xD "Hooked on You" should have been on the album yes! The song is so fierce, and that's my only real problem with the track list. Well, and how "What is Love?" is titled, and the fact it isn't the opening song, but oh well. Did you see this? The japan cover of the album. I love the original, but that one is so hot as well! Gonna have to get it off eBay for the cover alone. xD I am searching google like crazy to see if someone scanned the booklet somewhere online. nding·start 02:10, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
Lmao, omg, I never noticed that! I hope it is fake then, but how the hell would someone get that picture though? xD Did pics leak that I don't know about? I hope it will. It will deff outsell her last two albums, and probably pass Rebirth as well, but I don't expect too high sales. Albums deff don't sell like they used to. Yeah, it is pretty accurate. The order is pretty much the only thing not completed. I fixed up the "On the Floor" credits per the album booklet. As we learned from Killer Love, Achraf Janussi = AJ Junior, and Geraldo Sandell = Teddy Sky. Speaking of Killer Love, I don't know what Interscope is thinking. The remix of "Right There" better be completely different than the original if they want a US hit. I really hope they know what they're doing. Since she said the album will feature production from RedOne, Ne-Yo, Jim Jonsin, The-Dream and Tricky Stewart, does that mean "Heartbeat", "AmenJena", "Casualty", "You Will Be Loved", and "Don't Hold Your Breath" won't be on the US version? Or was she just listing a few? Oh, and Ne-Yo... I swear to god if "Save Me from Myself" from Her Name Is Nicole is on the US version I will just die and go to heaven. That song. <3 nding·start 02:37, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
Per the discussion at Born This Way (song) and WP:SONGS the infobox should list the legal credits as provided by BMI/ASCAP. The rest of the article should use the credits from the album booklet/CD liner. With regards to Killer Love, she would benefit from removing "Heartbeat," "Casualty," "You Will Be Loved" and "Club Banger Nation." They're all too European sounding. However I'm pretty sure "Don't Hold Your Breath" will still be on there, it IS the BEST song on the album. If she included a HQ "Save Me from Myself" that would be the business. I know she's recorded a song with Snoop Dogg called "Black Dog" which sounds hella-interesting. We'll have to wait and see what happens really. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 02:43, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
That's weird. I think it should be all credited as per the album booklet. I think "Born This Way" was deff a diff situation because the CD single was excluding writers. And if this is how it should be done now, "Poison" should be fixed up as well. Yeah, that's true, and I don't really mind, as long as she replaces them with great songs. "Black Dog" hmm... sounds... hmm. xD And LOL. I'm done. You don't know how crazy I am going trying to read the full credits from those teasers, and raping google trying to find someone who scanned them. xD nding·start 03:01, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
I must sound so crazy to you. :L But the hype is killing me!! I wish they'd just not bother releasing "I'm into You" to radio, it's not too late. "Papi" is a much better choice for second single. I don't see "I'm into You" doing much damage to the charts. nding·start 03:09, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

Third album

Your right about the whole songs on the album thing, but some of those things for the singles are a little much. You only need reviews if the songe= doesn't have a page for itself. And you only need the peak, not the debut # and date. What do you think?--68.79.98.217 (talk) 02:38, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

Nobody's Perfect

That would be an abuse of my powers, and could even lead to me being desysopped.—Kww(talk) 03:41, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

About your reversion on Nobody's Perfect (Jessie J song) - again

Well it seems that you reverted/edited some of my editions once again, well, what do I need to say? Removing blogs is one thing, but unreliable sources? Did you ever read WP:V or WP:RS completely? Did you ever identified a unreliable site, all by yourself? Check out articles like Ego (Beyoncé Knowles song), Halo_(Beyoncé_Knowles_song) cites some sources from same place I've added on Nobody's Perfect (Jessie J song). So yes I'm reverting it once again preserving your good edits (wohoooooo) and if you don't know to identify a Reliable Source there is a process called WP:RSN, that you need to nominee a site and ask if it is reliable or not, but in a case for reliability, you also should know that reliable sources are only KEPT and NEEDED when talking about future releases (to prevent the WP:CRYSTAL issue). Should I refer our case to RfC? Because it seems that we have engaged an impasse. Regards Eduemoni↑talk↓

Also, about our last discussion, if you take a look at Wikipedia talk:Notability (music) you are going to clear up some misunderstandings, I've even started a new one in case you wanna take a part in it. Eduemoni↑talk↓ 05:00, 22 April 2011 (UTC)
And reliability and verifiability walks with hands shaken, to remove a unreliable source you need to make a further research and if you find any conflicting information (from a reliable source, it would strength up that the information is not true, while from a unreliable it would make up that there is no common sense), and many unreliable sources ARE black listed on Wikipedia to prevent additions, so why did you remove them? Just because one of them carried a blog in the domain name? Just because they are using WordPress as their CMS are them unreliable? Eduemoni↑talk↓ 05:35, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

Killer Love

You know what I was just thinking, what if Nicole did the sort of thing Natasha did with N.B. and Pocketful of Sunshine with Killer Love. I think that'd be an amazing idea. They shouldn't change the title though, but I bet they will probably have a different cover. "Right There" with 50 Cent got a US date, it will be released to radio on May 24th. Assuming the US album release will be out in August. It's weird seeing like MTV saying that she is set to release her debut album, when it already came out. xD Maybe they are treating this different like N.B and POS. nding·start 18:29, 22 April 2011 (UTC)

Question!!

Hi Hashim [bhai]! I was wondering if the history merge can be used to merge selected revisions? Like from a selected date onwards? Novice7 (talk) 18:01, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Thanks Lil. I hope the admins don't go crazy :D Can you suggest someone? Kevin? I'm really good! How are you? How's the University work going? Yeah, I don't like the new Bey song too, but I do like "Till the World Ends" remix. I'm so excited for the new J.Lo, Jojo and Kelly Rowland albums!!! "Papi" is much better than "I'm Into You". What do you think? Novice7 (talk) 18:07, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
I just listened to Love? snippets and the album is very well organised. The songs are very good (infact much much better than Brave). I didn't like "Good Hit" that much, but "Villain" sounds very cool! "Run the World (Girls)" is the weakest lead single by Beyonce. I really can't wait for the album. Btw, the article looks really really good! That makes me want to get the album even more :D Novice7 (talk) 18:33, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, I know. Bey's very smart indeed :D Thank you for your help Lil. Going to bed now. Good night :) Novice7 (talk) 18:40, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Beyonce controversy

If this is really a problem, I will remove myself from the Wikiproject. I don't do anything in it anyway. I Help, When I Can. [12] 18:50, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Also, I'm kind of insulted that you would just sweep up my judgement in the "fan shenanigans" pile. I Help, When I Can. [12] 18:51, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
Actually, after I get done, I'll put it up for second opinion (I was gonna do so anyway). I Help, When I Can. [12] 18:53, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
Since I'm already in the middle, I'll finish and then I will put it up for second op. I Help, When I Can. [12] 19:23, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
Look at it now. -_-. Not even close to done... I Help, When I Can. [12] 19:33, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Nobody's Perfect cover

Hey there, I wasn't able to find the cover from the original source, but you mentioned that BBC used a image from Coverlandia, however they are not the same, I've found this [6], but it misses the single title. Cheers Eduemoni↑talk↓ 01:48, 24 April 2011 (UTC)

Ok then, I'll put a speedy delete tag on it, hence it will be orphaned. Eduemoni↑talk↓ 02:08, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
Hey I want your review, I'm about to add this subsection to the video one with this text

Background and concept

The music video for "Nobody's Perfect" was shot in a disclosed place in Bulgaria on March 24, 2011 and was directed by Emil Nava. The music video premied on April 14, 2011 in the United Kingdom through Jessie's Vevo channel[1]. The music video is inspired by Lewis Carroll classic tale Alice in the Wonder world, Cornish sits in a banquet table similar to the Mad Hatters' tea party. Cornish is shown in a hall of doors that either gives a resemblance of Scooby-Doo's chasing sequence or to the curious hall in the first chapter of Alice in Wonderland. Cornish also rolls in tar and appears dressed as the Roman goddess Libertas, who is better known as the robed female figure of the Statue of Liberty, what could be interpred as Black-and-white dualism.
Eduemoni↑talk↓ 06:30, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
The only part that is synthesized is the one referring to the black and white dualism, but I saw something about the black and white (like good and evil) somewhere. So I can source anything, but the part about the black and white dualism does not become synthesis if we openly discuss it and let if fall on common sense. Eduemoni↑talk↓ 02:26, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
What about the common sense I mentioned, if we discuss about it (either on RfC or with Third-User review) it falls on common sense, so we can add it. Eduemoni↑talk↓ 02:39, 25 April 2011 (UTC)
My apologies, I forgot that it is rude to tell someone about common sense like that, but we can use the Ignore all rules policy and discuss about it openly, because such a view is important to the article as it improves it and gives the reader a comprehensive background about the music video. Fight For This Love

Hi there. Thanks for your comment regarding Cheryl Cole's song. Do you think it sounds similar to the version by Bruce Hornsby? I think it's too similar, if you ask me.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1NAGhiVqdg

Check it out.

AWDRacer (talk) 09:20, 24 April 2011 (UTC)

Hi.

I think the resemblance is most obvious during the bridge of Cole's song.

Have a listen to Tupac's song Changes: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8Y9-JlSRXw

Regarding "original research" - where is that? I was merely suggesting that a couple of songs sound similar to Cole's song. I didn't plagiarize off anyone's ideas.

LOVE? leak

Me too! But that's good though. I hope it doesn't leak at all. I don't want it to be available until at least the 29th. I expected it to leak today though. Happy Easter by the way! nding·start 01:17, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Kelly Rowland - It’s All Leak! (2011)

Hey!
You probably know about It’s All Leak!. I'm lovin', lovin' it! :) As soon as I heard "I'm Dat Chick", (as shown there) I was sure Ester Dean was at least a co-writer on it. And sure enough at Kelly Rowland's third album it is sourced as such ("I'm That Chick"). You probably did it :) I added it to Dean's article.
I must admit to being somewhat surprised to see an article for an untitled upcoming album (don't remember ever seeing one before), but it has TONS of material and TONS of sources too. Oh, back to business ;) Just wondering if It’s All Leak! is an 'official' mixtape? that could/should be mentioned in the 'Marketing and promotion' section of the album and at her Discog article. I leave it up to you as you seem to be quite up (knowledgeable) on her. Hope you havin' a GREAT day and GREAT holiday.—Iknow23 (talk) 03:08, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Hey Iknow... yeah the thing is Kelly's album kept changing its name but since the information is so detailed it simply could not be deleted. "I'm Dat Chick" was confirmed months ago... it leaked like 1 month ago but yeah its written by Ester Dean and produced by Tricky Stewart. Its actually a hot record much better than that cheap "Pon de Floor" rip-off that Rowland's one time colleague had. Erm what's this about It's All Leak? i've not heard about this at all???? — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 16:53, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
Don't thinks its official. Is it on sale anywhere? — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 16:55, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

(Talk page stalker) Gotta say it, "Girls", is bad. It's the exact same instrumental as "Pon de Floor". Completely unoriginal. And that's coming from a Beyonce fan. nding·start 18:00, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Ah, okay, thanks. LOL! I'm such a n00b. xD nding·start 18:06, 23 April 2011 (UTC)
LMAO at "Rowland's one time colleague"! I guess I'm not all that sure about mixtapes? Do they have to be sold to be 'official', or can they be just the artist working with a DJ (sometimes DJ voiceover) that they allow for FREE download for promotion. Like say the MANY Gucci Mane mixtapes listed, are they all being sold? As long as the artist participates willingly and know it's going to 'go out', does that also count as 'official'? As long as it is NOT just a compilation put together by a FAN? About the title It’s All Leak!, I was thinking maybe this is just a clever title and not REALLY meaning it is leaked? :O, u haven't heard of it? Just Google it and u should find it.
AGREE "Girls" isn't that great, smh. LOL, are we starting a consensus on that! :D It should just be a club performance song, like when artists do covers in Live performances. They don't have to record and release them...but sometimes they do. What they call it? A audience 'call-out' or something, where they elicit an audience participation as in: "Who runs this m-f? Do the Ladies run this m-f?" (Ladies shout, "Hell Yeah!!!") Then, "Do the Fellas run this m-f?" (Fellas shout, "Hell Yeah!!!") of course the m-f is fully said.Iknow23 (talk) 01:55, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
LOL Iknow...! erm well the mixtape is definately a fan made. "Heartbreakers" (a wonderful song) is clearly more like a Shontelle song though the vocals are neither Rowland nor Shontelle. "I Don't Wanna" which is actually a demo called "Criminal" by ReVaugn Brown, rumoured to be for Rowland. Equally, "Love You" is actually the Rico Love Urban Remix of "Forever and a Day". The version of "Free Fall" included is simply a radio rip... its actually Rune RK feat. Kelly Rowland. Only a demo version of "Motivation" exists on the mixtape (you can hear its been snipped to remove the DJ-callouts) and the version of "Forever and a Day" on there is also a radio rip. Rowland also confirmed the song "Shake Them Haterz Off" is actually called "Haters". Its definately not official LOL. Plus tbh... I'd heard all these songs months ago. But it still sounds miles better than "Only Girl In the World Who Runs the Word Cus I'm Not Myself Tonight but Cause I'm Allegedly a Songwriter/Producer I Can Sing Anything and Claim that I Wrote It" → you'd think she'd come up with a better name??? — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 02:10, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
WOW, Lil-unique ! See I knew you were knowledgeable here :D Thanks for the low-down. Haha, so obviously you had to check it out ;) "Rowland's one time colleague" cuda def come up with a better name. Every time I hear it, it makes me think of the club 'call-out' I mentioned. :smh x2.—Iknow23 (talk) 02:24, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
Seems like many people hate Bey's new single. Jivesh Talk2Me 12:35, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
TBF its very catchy and the lyrics are decent but the way Beyonce went on about a new genre, revolutionary sound etc. I was expecting something more original than just a remix of the 2009 club hit "Pon de Floor". Seriously when I've been out clubbing it used to be a staple song to hear "Pon de Floor" and so the idea of having to listen to "Run the World (Girls)" which is basically "Pon de Floor" + lyrics is quite downgrading on the song. it might work against Bey and explain why its debut was not as successful as "On the Floor", "ET", "Hold It Against Me" or "We R Who We R". — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 16:51, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
My friend, i hope you did not get me wrong. I have no hard feelings. I am a bit disappointed about how the single is doing. But i really do not know where Beyonce's ass is. Why isn't she promoting the song? I mean, you kin the Oprah Show and company. Where is she? This is pathetic. If she does not have time to promote it, she should not have released it now. And no music video. What even more incomprehensible, is why shew hasn't yet said SOMETHING about the song? Jivesh Talk2Me 17:40, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
Bah! Who knows... if radio picks the song (which it probably will) she'll do fine. She'll promote it in good time... there's no rush. She has staying power. I was just disappointed by the hype if im honest. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 17:44, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
It has debuted at number 18 in the UK. Just saw it. Jivesh Talk2Me 18:07, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
Can you please explain your above message in simpler words to me? Especially the last line? Please. Jivesh Talk2Me 18:09, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
The thing about Airplay in the US is that it sometimes takes several weeks for stations to increase the number of spins thus even if Bey doesn't have strong sales she can still peak high thanks to airplay. A prime example from last week would be "Judas" selling 160,000 copies but debuting at number ten while "On the Floor" sold 130,000 copies but moved to number eight. That's the beauty of airplay. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 23:00, 24 April 2011 (UTC)
But do you think Beyonce has enough fans for that? Jivesh Talk2Me 11:15, 25 April 2011 (UTC)

Hmmm, so Bey's first outting w/o her father is not well. So is she like a 'newborn' foal or calf looking for her own footing? (Absolutely NO insult intended, just for example.) Or should she have kept her father in her biz?—Iknow23 (talk) 00:09, 26 April 2011 (UTC)

In terms of their next albums... I think people are more bothered about Kelly Rowland and Jennifer Lopez tbh. oh that reminds me, I was going to ask a favor. Would you consider helping me copyedit (and webcite archive) the sources for Kelly Rowland's third album. I'm all too aware that I've been writing the article for six months + it might be quite out of date. Plus sources have already started going dead. Its hard to copy edit something you edit very frequently. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 00:13, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
;) way to return to topic. :D I know (not meaning my sn, HA) that I am currently more interested in Rowland and Lopez. Sure, I'll look more at the 'third album', maybe not exactly today tho' as I am just getting back to wiki after the holiday. Oh, and my comment before; I was just surprised to see an article for an 'unnamed' album. Just making sure that you didn't think I meant it as a complaint.—Iknow23 (talk) 00:34, 26 April 2011 (UTC)
Haha good stuff. Nah don't worry I know you didn't mean it as a complaint. I know you well enough to know that (mind the pun :D). I did consult several people before the album was left un-named simply cus its so unusual to have this much info but no title. cool... whenever really its not a massive rush but yeah we can try and do a small amount every couple of days. + i have some new information to add. My aim is to try and get it more like Love? but that will be hard because I don't know why, but that article came out better than I could have imagined LOL. — Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk]
