Please help me. Does the tracklist of Loud seem incorrect because this is what is written on the cover of the album. Please explain to me. Syedwaheedhussain (talk) 13:13, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

Hiiiii

Hey! I'm almost done with RTF feedback, I'm wrapping it up right now. In the meantime, some user is determined in making unneeded changes in the lead of Not Myself Tonight switching homage with tribute (wtf) and removing Human Nature homage, which is sourced. I don't want to hit 3RR, so I was wondering could you fix it? Thanks!! Btw, seems like Kelly is back in 2011 for her international release too smh. BUT Ciara's Gimme Dat is HOT. I really don't think it looks like Diva like everyone is saying it just has the same atmosphere since it was a Melina-directed clip. But LaFace is so stupid because right when the song was getting buzz, they have yet to give it a radio add date or digital download date! Smh. Candyo32 15:24, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

Hey boy, what's the problem with "tribute"? That's not my own research, that's according to Christina Aguilera, WHO owns that video. Don't lecture me about Wikipedia policy, saying it a copyvio. Since when cite a someone quotation is a copyvio? Since when "tribute" is an unencylopedic word? I have source, you don't have direct source for "Paying homage to "Express Yourself" and "Human Nature". It's simply your conclusion. Bluesatellite (talk) 11:45, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Not Myself Tonight

MTV said not only those two videos of Madonna, but also various videos of other artists. If we base on it, we should write "Paying homage to 'Bad Romance', 'Dip It Low', 'Freedom 90', blah blah....". What's the problem when Christina Aguilera herself said explicitly she has paid tribute to Madonna's "Express Yourself"? Bluesatellite (talk) 15:54, 16 October 2010 (UTC)

As I said, critics have compared "Not Myself Tonight" to various videos by Madonna and other music artist such as Lady Gaga. BUT, Christina herself only admitted that her video is a 'tribute' to "Express Yourself" (She did not mention the others). MTV also cited "Like a Prayer", why we omited it, why only "Express Yourself" and "Human Nature"? I think it can be WP:OR. So, my point, it better to cite Aguilera quotation. Critics' comments can be placed to "Reception" Bluesatellite (talk) 11:30, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Nelly 5.0 album cover

There's something not quite write with the album cover situation on Nelly 5.0. The new cover—with the sticker—is the one that's currently on the source page [1]. Is the old cover from an old version of the page? It can be called into question whether it's the official album cover or not. There should probably be some discussion of the issue at Talk:Nelly 5.0; I'll be watching there for a reply. —C.Fred (talk) 14:11, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

On a tangent, both of the debated album cover images are at the same resolution, 475x475. —C.Fred (talk) 14:18, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Stop Reverting

The song is as notable is it's going to get. It's only a single. Please Stop. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.173.135.8 (talk) 16:39, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

EDIT: Firstly, this is my first time "reverting the song" i have edited the entire article and added more notable sources. If you look aound wikipeadia, singles that have not even charted, ect, are still valid. This song has been released on iTunes already. Just leave the song as it is. more people find it useful anyways. i think you just being ignorant about it. It doesnt have to be perfect as the article is still being "fixed up" as the days pass.

Sales in charts

Can you further explain this edit summary "we don't list sales in tables anymore. write in prose", [2]? I have not seen this discussed anywhere, but if it has been I would like to read through it. Also if you are going to remove sourced information about sales from a table, shouldn't you then write it in prose instead of deleting the information completely? Hello Again

Hi Lil-unique1! I believe we haven't spoken since the Pussycat Dolls lineup change, just wanted to drop in and see how you are? I'm Lady Gaga obsessed myself, I drive all my friends mad with it. Also, are you from the UK? do you have any idea why Alicia Keys didn't bother to release Un-thinkable and Put It In A Love Song in the UK and has instead decided to release a single from a reloaded version of the Element of Freedom? I personally love both songs and wish she would release them over here plus a music video for Put it in a love song! Cheers--David (talk) 17:12, 18 October 2010 (UTC) (also known as Daaviiid)

lol thank you! At first I thought it was linked to her pregnancy but then she released a brand spanking new single, hormones and a large bump didn't get in her way! Also, I've been led to believe that Dance In The Dark is getting a UK release but Gaga releases her new album in the new year which if you think about it is not that far away when it comes to single and album releases, have you heard anywhere about a release? tbh I don't think it should be released as it would be a chart flop like LoveGame it should just be one of those giant album tracks--David (talk) 19:49, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
Now you mention it yes she would be busy on tour, shes put pics on facebook of her recording the album "Born This Way" she is a musical GENIOUS though!!! Are you from the UK?--David (talk) 19:59, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
I am myself :D I'm a scouser as well--David (talk) 20:03, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
I turned 15 in September (ino god) I believe you watch x factor...are there any rumours about celeb performers? I've been led to believe Cheryl, JLS, Rihanna and Bon Jovi are performing, anymore to add?--David (talk) 20:09, 18 October 2010 (UTC)
After 2008 Capital of Culture Liverpool is full of French, Chinese and Cockneys! rewind 4 years you wouldn't have imagined it lmao. I think Pink may perform as well and if the single is out in time maybe Gaga?--David (talk) 20:19, 18 October 2010 (UTC)

Re: Medleys

And what necessarily is the connection you are making with medleys, when you are referencing "double a singles"? Since it appears you want to get technical, a medley is a series of songs sharing a similar musical composition that (although may be different) is performed as one. Now, proper English grammar states that a series (or list of information) in paragraph form should be preceded by a colon and separated by commas. For example: "My mother sent me to the store to buy: eggs, bread, milk, honey and sugar". On the flip side, you are presenting your information in a list format (as all setlists are written this way on Wiki), then your information should be listed subordinately to your main topic. For example:

  1. Meats
    1. Poultry
    2. Beef
    3. Seafood
  2. Vegetables
    1. Cauliflower
    2. Carrots
    3. Beets

Now, musically speaking, most recorded medleys are given a name such as "Polka Power" or "American Euology" and then the supporting songs will be listed in the linear notes. In the case with live recordings, they will present the medley in the aforementioned fashion or they will deconstruct the medley, making each song within the series its own track. Now, if you would like, I would be more then happy to open this topic to all wiki user as a topic of discussion so that a guideline can be set for this matter. Itsbydesign (talk) 01:48, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

The argument that you are making has zero to do with music listing. Of course its going to be listed in sentence format for a double sided single release because not only it its the title of the song but its the title of the work being released. No one is going to present the title of any work in list form. I've given you examples for both professional music writing and proper grammar writing in general. The argument you are presenting is based on presentation. Should it look like Item A or Item B. Regardless, the point is to communicate the songs are being performed as one. Whether you are writing this in sentence or list form the same ideal is being expressed IMHO, the information is already presented in a list so I see no issue with continuing that trend, it becomes a little more convenient for other circumstances. To illustrate my words, let's say Christina Aguilera goes on tour and performs a medley of "Walk Away", "I Turn to You", "I Got Trouble" and "Understand" but let's also say she performs ITTY to the instrumental of "Sweet Love" by Anita Baker. Should it be presented as
Item A:
Medley: "Walk Away" / 'I Turn to You" (containing elements of Sweet Love) / "I Got Trouble" / "Understand"
Item B:
  1. Medley
    1. "Walk Away"
    2. "I Turn to You" (containing elements of "Sweet Love")
    3. "I Got Trouble"
    4. "Understand"
To make this a win-win solution, any setlist that contains a medley of 3 songs or less or a medley without a title will appear in sentence form. A medley that either has a title, has additional information or has 4 more songs will be shown in list form. Is this an agreeable statement?Itsbydesign (talk) 09:52, 20 October 2010 (UTC)

Re: Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album

Thank you for taking the time to review the list for FL status, though I am sorry to see your opposition to its promotion. Because I have worked on ten other Grammy-related lists and taken them to FL status (see profile for list), I am hoping for additional feedback from other reviewers before making any changes to the Bluegrass list. I want the Grammy-related featured lists to be consistent, hence my hesitation to addressing your concerns immediately. --Another Believer (Talk) 19:17, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for your response. I will take a look at the links you suggested, but please be sure to re-visit the nomination page and article again soon so take sure the table format complies with your concerns. As I mentioned, I am not too familiar with table formats, but if we can come up with one that meets your preferences I will be sure to copy it over to the other Grammy-related FLs. Thanks again! (Oh, and I did not think you came across as snarky, I just wasn't familiar with the requirements so I wanted to make sure I knew the information I needed to make proper changes.) --Another Believer (Talk) 20:10, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
I'm terribly sorry, but I am confused about what I need to do to correct the table. Could you point me in the right direction? I see the link you provided but there is a lot of detail on the page. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. --Another Believer (Talk) 20:24, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
Thanks a million! I went ahead and copied the code to my talk page so that I can study the code and incorporate into future lists. Plus, you can continue using your sandbox. I will try to update my Grammy lists as soon as possible. Please let me know when you concern has been addressed (and by the way, I have another Grammy list at FLC so feel free to take a look at that one soon as well). --Another Believer (Talk) 21:03, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

FLC opposes

While your opinions are obviously valued, it would be more instructive if you'd start a thread on WT:FLC to voice your concerns over recent MOS changes, so we can centralise discussions. Also, it appears that your comments aren't actually helping editors discover why you're opposing the lists, which is a shame, particularly if you work intimately with the accessibility project. If you give specific advice and specify exactly (and I mean exactly) why the lists you oppose fail WP:MOS then fine. It's a shame that MOS keeps changing and causing knock-on effects which clearly aren't considered seriously by those involved in the niche discussions. Cheers. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:09, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

It's also worth noting that about half of the FLCs you've "failed" are waiting for you to explain your opposition, so please revisit these as soon as you can to explain to the good, hard-working members of the project why, suddenly, midway through nominations, their lists don't meet the standards you expect. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:24, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
You need to specify which part of WP:MOS they fail, not point to a help page about table formats. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:36, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
Please respond directly to my previous comment. Specifically. And also have the courtesy to respond to the numerous nominators who have questioned your "fail" (which is downright rude)/"oppose". And please, please, don't "copy-and-paste" your answer to each person. They deserve better than that. Please tell them, each of them, what part of MOS the list fails, and do not point them at a help page which is not part of the MOS. Cheers. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:50, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
No, don't point people to WP:ACCESS, point them to the recent "change" that has suddenly resulted in your mass opposition. Then we'll get somewhere. The Rambling Man (talk) 21:57, 19 October 2010 (UTC)
No, WP:ACCESS has been around for ages. This blanket opposition for reasons that you are not adequately explaining is what is causing the problem. And please stop referring to either WP:Wikitable or WP:DISCOGSTYLE as neither are part of WP:MOS. The Rambling Man (talk) 22:14, 19 October 2010 (UTC)

Your opinion?

Hi, you seem to know a bit about the current popular music (more than me at least...) Since you requested protection of Move That Body (Nelly song), could you please take a look at User_talk:Airplaneman#hey_can_you_fix_the_single? Thanks, Airplaneman 01:07, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

Newnewnwenewn

Have you heard Ciara's new song with Usher. Although I would have loved and R&B rather than pop effort from them, the track is actually hot, but i'm like where the freak is the bass at!?!? CiCi just doesn't sound right without a booming bass (i.e. Gimmie Dat). However Rap-Up is saying it is unmastered so hopefully it goes harder on the real version. But considering that it is pop, it is the type of pop that will totally rule at radio now, and Usher's on a roll so maybe CiCi can jump on for the ride. I've lost hope in "Gimmie Dat" unless the digital release can change things, and "Speechless" tanked, so they need to hop on this song now. Candyo32 03:25, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

Btw, I might add that I still am upset that she's not on "Hot Toddy" it just doesn't seem right when I hear it lol. And I was just thinking about Ciara and Usher performing this song. Now I think Ciara vs. Chris Brown at the '08 BET's was iconic, so it would be awesome if she and Usher did this at the AMAs. Candyo32 03:28, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

Electro Love AfD Closure

Thank you for coming to me with your questions about the AfD closure rather than going straight to deletion review. I hope that I can explain my closure at least enough to make it comprehensible. Upon reading the AfD, I counted the "votes" as 3-2 in favour of keeping (since redirect is a form of keep). Barring evidence of sock-puppetry or outside canvassing, the comments are treated equally, with the arguments weighed according to their compliance with policy and their ability to convince other users. The delete argument cites WP:CRYSTAL for the proposition that future events should not receive coverage unless it is "almost certain to take place". This is a reasonable policy based arguement similar to that advanced at Wikipedia:TenPoundHammer's Law and WP:NFF. However, all these rules of thumb have exceptions where Wikipedia is not engaging in its own speculation but repeating the reliably sourced predictions of others. It is appropriate to report discussion and arguments about the prospects for success of future proposals and projects or whether some development will occur, if discussion is properly referenced. (from WP:CRYSTAL). I took the two keep "votes" (as well as the redirect, which argued that the material should be retained, just not necessarily in its own article) as expressing the view, consistent with policy, that the reliable sources in the article were sufficient to support its content even in the absence of a time frame, or even certainty, of release.

I more closely follow movie rather than music AfD's, but it seems to me that discussions like Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Newt (film) and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Avengers (2012 film) counsel against a rigid application of the "no release date-no article" heuristic. Note that the close is not intended to prevent discussion about redirecting the article to the artist's page (the content has apparently already been merged). Of course, a the merger of content also weighs against the deletion of the article history. See WP:Merge and Delete.

I hope that illuminates my thought process for you. You are certainly free to raise a formal objection to the close at WP:DRV if you want, but I can't hold out much hope of its being successful. While, as the closer I am not unbiased, closes of low participation, evenly divided AfD's are not frequently overturned at DRV. I'd expect a fair number of comments of "I'd have closed it as no consensus but its within admin discretion." Thanks again for your feedback. Eluchil404 (talk) 02:46, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

Help :)

Hi Unique, I noticed the articles you've promoted have a "Composition" section with info on the song from musicnotes.com. Well I have it also for a song I'm working on, but I don't read music and don't know what to do. Did you write those sections? If you did can you add this info from this musicnotes source and write a "Composition" section for "One Sweet Day"? Or please tell me who can. Thanks.--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 01:04, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

Did you take a look at this yet?--CallMeNathanTalk2Me 06:50, 28 October 2010 (UTC)

New Gaga Album

Hey I've heard via Twitter that Gaga did an interview recently on her new album Born This Way I've been looking through digital spy for anything but I fail to find anything..do you have any ideas of what's been said?--David (talk) 11:54, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

Oh okay thanks anyway..looking through the article on The Fame, I wonder why she bothered releasing Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say) and gone for something like Money Honey or I Like It Rough? Surley they'd have fit in better with the theme of Poker Face and Just Dance--David (talk) 17:05, 27 October 2010 (UTC)

New Changes!!!

Hey Lil Unique! :-) Just wanted to drop by and say the changes to this page are absolutely awesome. Keep up the great work and edits! Thank you for being a great Wiki teacher! (mikomango (talk) 21:26, 22 October 2010 (UTC))

Hey!!! I was talking about your contributions to Kelly Rowland discography (keeping us up-to-date with the video releases) and my favourite album of the summer, Flesh Tone. Great job LU1! (mikomango (talk) 22:51, 26 October 2010 (UTC))

Also, while I'm at it...how can I help with the Flesh Tone article? Like I said, it's my absolute favourite and I'd love to assist. (mikomango (talk) 22:51, 26 October 2010 (UTC))

I would love to! I'll make that my edit mission for the next week. :-) (mikomango (talk) 23:37, 26 October 2010 (UTC))

You know what, while we're at it, we should probably create an article for Scream since there's a video now. I guess that can be on the wider Flesh Tone to-do list! :-) (mikomango (talk) 23:48, 26 October 2010 (UTC))
Oh okay. How come we are not allowed to copy edit the article for Scream? (mikomango (talk) 02:18, 27 October 2010 (UTC))
I see they're going after you for the UK charting on Scream. Hopefully it will move up in the charts so the e-hate can cease! (mikomango (talk) 17:07, 28 October 2010 (UTC))

Re: Dance

The whole dance music article is too general. The genre may have a wide scope, similarly to rock music, however, that does not make it as general as you (and our article on it) are implying. Piping to a subgenre when we have an article on the main genre is not appropriate. If a subgenre such as electronic dance should be listed, then use that instead of dance. –Chase (talk / contribs) 23:22, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

(Electronic) dance music

The subject of linking "dance" to "electronic dance music" for the article Flesh Tone has come up again. I've told the editor that a discussion/consensus should be reached as a comprimise was reached before on it, so can u help in that matter if the editor chooses to do so? Dan56 (talk) 23:27, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

As I've already explained to Dan56, there is no consensus if the matter was not even discussed on the article's talk page. Discussions should be between all of the editors of an article, not just two. –Chase (talk / contribs) 23:34, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

Soooooo, i may be away from October 31st - November 3rd. Could you watch; Tik Tok (song), Blah Blah Blah (song), Your Love Is My Drug, Take It Off (song), We R Who We R, Cannibal (EP), Animal (Kesha album) and Kesha discography. Just watch for vandalism and stupid edits basically. The only three that may give you trouble is Cannibal, Animal and We R Who We R, i can gauruntee people are going to add Sleazy and another cover and try to change the tracklisting on Animal and Cannibal, just revert it if they do basically. Would be great if you can do this, lemme know if you cannot :) - (CK)Lakeshade - talk2me - 00:00, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

Don't remove the {{digital singles}} content from Cannibal (EP)'s infobox, again. "Sleazy" has been made available to the public, so it deserves a mention as such.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 20:38, 3 November 2010 (UTC)

That's just silly because "We R Who W R" was only released digitally too so then calling "Sleazy" a digital single makes no sense. Digital is format of release not necessarily a type of single. "Sleazy" is a promo single (if a single at all), part of the iTunes countdown to the album's release. If anything its not even a single just a promotional download/promo song release. The same way that Katy Perry released three songs in countdown to Teenage Dream, and Black Eyed Peas did with E.N.D. Nothing notable enough to distinguish them as singles. Lots of songs get this kind of release and the notion that they should all be included in the infobox is silly. Part of the infobox's purpose in navigational yet these 'promo singles' don't belong because in the majority of cases songs released in the iTunes countdown are not notable for their own pages. A lot of users have disagreed with you according to Cannibal's edit history. On this occasion i simply can't agree with your notion about. In future try and be a bit more information rather than telling me not to do something without explaining clearly why you think its wrong or without a relevant policy. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me
It should still be mentioned on the page. It is getting press. Also there's a discussion on the talk page at Talk:Cannibal (EP)#Sleazy where it has been more or less agreed to include it under the Digital singles header.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 19:06, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
And it is adequately mentioned under the section "Promotional Songs". That's how it should remain. What 'press' are you referring to? if there is anything significant such as reviews/reception this should be added to the article. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me
There have been some reviews that have been touched upon in the other editor's planned Sleazy (Kesha song) article (check the page history). It can go in the infobox and not hurt anything.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 19:12, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
It is not factual and is incorrect. If both singles are released digitally how can you call one a digital single and the other a regular album single? No... you're just not getting the point are you? There isn't a consensus on the talk page either... just CLK and You possibly stating that it might be a good idea to call WE R = Single and Sleazy = Digital. Which again is flawed and silly. Putting it in the infobox is harmful because its not a single. Its just a promotional release. Its not been pushed as a single by the label or received coverage/promotion as a single. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me
What do you mean it's incorrect? It was released digitally as a single, ratherthan "We R" is a regular single because it's played on the radio. Being a promotional single only released through digital means does not mean it should not be mentioned in the article's infobox as a digital single, just because the other single was also released for sale digitally.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 19:20, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
Yes it does. This is getting silly. A song released to iTunes is not automatically a single. There is an on-going discussion on the talk page of Cannibal. Until that establishes a proper consensus the non-standard formatting you keep trying to enforce will not be used. It is misleading because both songs were released digitally. Promo countdown songs should not be in the infobox. After the album's release they disappear from iTunes anyway. I've removed it until there is a consensus it should be kept. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 19:23, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
All singles get removed from the (US) iTunes Store after the album gets released. You can't find Bad Romance or Bulletproof (La Roux song) or New Moon Rising (song) available for sale on their own as singles. The only things that remain for sale are the remix EPs if the song has one. Going by what you are saying, then no songs released digitally should ever be considered as actual singles and should only be promo singles.—Ryūlóng (竜龙) 19:28, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
Again you're view/understanding is flawed. You're under the illusion that iTunes is the be all and end all. You can still purchase the individual single from places like 7 Digital. E.g. Bad Romance is available from 7Digital. I didn't say that because the song's disappear they shouldn't be considered singles. I pointed out that simply releasing a song does not make it a single. Are you seriously trying to tell me that "Not Like the Movies" by Katy Perry should be considered as notable and as important as "California Gurls" just because "NLtM" was released to iTunes? NO ... you keep making you're own point which is you're personal opinion but you can't address the issues and concerns being raised. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 19:35, 4 November 2010 (UTC)

Hi. I'm not sure if we discussed this already, so if my memory is failing me don't bother with this message. I did not follow the discussions at most FLC at the time (which is partly my fault), I didn't suspected there was such debates going on (but I should have expected them). I just realized you opposed several candidates, and you had to retract you comment quickly. Commenting at FLC is definitely an approach we should use, but with such new technical requirements it is best to "encourage" authors to make the changes, or doing them ourselves if they don't know how to do it. The same thing happened at the French Wikipedia, and we decided that only encouraging users is enough. And it works fine most of the time, although the context is different because there is no MoS at :fr.

Also, there may have been a misunderstanding about the conformance to WP:ACCESS. For example, while table captions (aka table headers "|+") are part of this MoS since its creation in 2006, few tables and projects conform to it. When I implemented the new scope="row/col" requirement, it so happened that the first change was proposed it discographies by User:JD554. And so, we naturally tried to see if DICOGS could be updated. I'm sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.

We are progressively addressing the concerns raised about the new layout. Like row headers were centered, now we are discussing to have row headers not bold and display like a regular cell. So it's may not be going smoothly, but it's going in the right direction. I believe the hardest is done, as we now had enough feedback from users. A few smaller concerns may arise again, but I believe it won't be similar. Thanks for your efforts, as you are one of the key persons who made this happen. Kind regards, Dodoïste (talk) 21:21, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

Return the Favor GAN

Everything should be addressed now! Candyo32 15:30, 6 November 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for helping me with my thirtieth GA :)Woooohooooo! Btw, I know you've been busy and I don't know if you have noticed it yet, but I nominated Fantasia Barrino discography based on the WP:DISCOGSTYLE, now there is this big debate on some users questioning all of this Access stuff. What do you make of this? I am disappointed as it took a while to convert that discog and try prepare for FLC, and I have already started converting the Chris Brown discog and it is extremely longer. I hope many changes AGAIN do not come from this. Candyo32 00:57, 7 November 2010 (UTC)
Lol I also will be seen less as I need to get alot of things in school straight before the holiday season approaches. eeeek hahaa. Anyway, thanks again for the GA assistance and the FLC comments! Btw, Gimme Dat has been released over hear and the front isn't looking too well. It hasn't gotten a radio date but even if not radio would play it if it were going to go big. It's been in the #40-#70 range on iTunes since release, so it's a reach if it goes on the Hot 100 and if it does it will probably be #90-#100. smh, she needs to move on and TURN IT UP W/USHER for pop and then another urban banger like Ride. Kelly Rowland's Third CD

Please stop changing her third CD to the title of Kelly Rowland. She has not named her third CD yet. You can see on her page she is asking fans to help her name the new CD, therefore it will NOT be named "Kelly Rowland" It is still as of yet untitled.

Found Source

I have been trying to say this all along. I had changed everything to as of yet untitled album which it is. Just because it has a generic name at the moment doesn't mean that is the title. It's untitled, therefore it should be noted that way.

http://www.rnbmusicblog.com/kelly-rowland-new-album-pushed-back-cd-title-changed/14564/

That source should clear things up. Please change it back to untitled. General Bozz (talk) 02:33, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

Retirement

Yeah, it's kinda sad. We used to be here loads, now all I do is revert vandalism. I'm just annoyed with it and really busy at the moment. There's a user I'm having issues with and it's gone so far I can't be bothered to deal with it any more. I remember when I first started, I was a bad editor and I made a personal attack (nothing like what I received), but I still got blocked and received warnings. I did it to an admin and I think that's the only reason why they cared. When it's done to a normal editor, they don't care. Why have you retired? Jayy008 (talk) 13:01, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

Jeez, that's busy busy! Ever since I've gone into work I haven't had time to do anything. Trying to wein myself off this slowely lol. How are you, anyway? Jayy008 (talk) 18:57, 5 November 2010 (UTC)

Well guys it didnt go as planned. When my date arrived tonight she was like "its so nice to come out with a friend i just met and watch the fireworks" and to make matters worse she kept giving me mixed signals. I went home after she said "im glad we're friends, I'm excited to be able to tell you I've got a date for Monday night." :'(. Jay apart from being busy (and the non-date) I'm generally good... just finding my feet. Wbu? Oh I didn't know you'd starting working? Is it good?

That sucks dude. I'm sure you'll find somebody soon :). Glad you're okay. I'm fine thanks. Yeah, I started last month, really enjoying it. It's only a stepping stone, though. Hopefully going to find a full-time job soon. Jayy008 (talk) 16:59, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
I know what you mean; a relationship would be best when you have available time and attention to give. Full retirement seems like a good idea, but I couldn't do that at this stage. I'm happy to come on once a day and revert all the junk from my watch-list. Although, recently, I overhauled a page. But I was bored. That's like once a year I bother with that. Jayy008 (talk) 22:55, 6 November 2010 (UTC)
I haven't. Any good? Jayy008 (talk) 23:20, 9 November 2010 (UTC)
Oh, don't get me started. I find ballads nowadays "soulless," but then comes "H.A.T.E.U.," which is so great. I'm just surprised she'd put herself in a swimsuit and release it. No effort went into that release. It had a lot of potential. Jayy008 (talk) 00:39, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

Source

What's your source for this? I didn't see one in either the single or album article.—Kww(talk) 01:05, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

"Untitled third album" would be the best choice. You have no source for the name "Kelly Rowland", and the implication of the contest is pretty clear: the title hasn't been chosen.—Kww(talk) 01:29, 9 November 2010 (UTC)

Moved it. This is precisely the kind of thing that leads me to say that I don't care how much information there is, people shouldn't create articles about albums before they are released. Ever.—Kww(talk) 15:15, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

Body Talk series

First of all I'd like to say happy almost anniversary on Wikipedia! And it's sad to see you're semi retired. I don't know if you contribute to the Body Talk series articles by Robyn, I was going to post a message on the talk page about this, but I doubt I'd really get an answer from anyone, but I'm sure you are probably familiar with it. Anyways, there are 3 albums, and I am unsure about how they are um, I don't know the word, but lemme try to explain it. To me, the series is like Part 1, 2 and 3 are EPs or studio albums (not sure as the whole The Fame Monster stuff) and Body Talk is a compilation album of all the songs? Or would it be considered a separate album? I think a separate one should be made for Body Talk Pt. 3 as well, as it's being sold separately, which might help organize it a bit. I'm sorry if this sounds confusing, I'm not the best at explaining things. (I could NEVER be a teacher.) Anyways, thanks! ΣПDiПG–STΛЯT (Talk) 00:48, 11 November 2010 (UTC)

RE: Skylar Grey nomination for deletion

Hey man, I just wanted to ask for some clarification about your nomination of the Skylar Grey article for deletion. There are mentions of Grey being the writer of Love The Way You Lie (proof of Billboard Magazine article here and here where Alex Da Kid clearly mentions Grey as the writer), and the Love The Way You Lie credits list the writers as 'Alexander Grant (Alex Da Kid), H. Hafferman (Skylar Grey), and Marshall Mathers (Eminem)' (as seen here). Also, with Grey being the featured vocalist on two current songs (I Need A Doctor by Dr. Dre and Eminem, and Coming Home by Diddy Dirty Money), I would think that she qualifies for her own page. Other songwriters (such as Kalenna Harper, from Diddy-Dirty Money) qualify for their own pages, so I'm wondering why that would not be enough for Grey's page to qualify as well. Thanks, JackSparrow (talk) 04:57, 19 November 2010 (UTC)

The article Rose Colored Glasses (Kelly Rowland song) you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needed to be addressed. If these are fixed within seven days, the article will pass, otherwise it will fail. See Talk:Rose Colored Glasses (Kelly Rowland song) for things which need to be addressed. Dream in Color

I'd like to bring up the possibility of creating a separate page for Dream in Color, as it is known that none of the songs recorded then will be on the album, since MySpace Records owns all the rights to it. Once the album is released, it will be full of more information, and the Dream in Color information will be much less needed and deleted, but it is still quite notable. Just an idea. Maybe we could start a sandbox on it or something and see how it goes. Ending-start (talk) 18:21, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Alright. I do think it will need some serious cleaning though soon. Ending-start (talk) 18:29, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Taio Cruz

I agree with your change to the birth name, but see my notes on the discussion page. He was born in 1980 in Brent, London, NOT 1982 or 1983 according to official records! Ravenscroft32 (talk) 01:07, 24 November 2010 (UTC)

There are still problems with the same person changing Taio Cruz's birth name. Could use your help, thanks! Ravenscroft32 (talk) 00:03, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Thanks so much for your help! I believe we now have the correct birth name. See this article: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/home/you/article-1278158/In-taxi--Taio-Cruz.html But if the birth name is correct, then we do not have the correct DOB, which I believe is 1980. Trouble is, the only proof are official records which require a subscription. Ravenscroft32 (talk) 00:28, 30 November 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for your note. Are we to believe that the person who keeps making the corrections is the man himself?! This article above says he was born in Kensal Rise (part of Brent). Here are the only three official entries for people born in the UK with the surname Onile-Ere in the early 1980s:

Name: Adetayo Ayowale O A Onile-Ere Mother's Maiden Surname: Vera-Cruz Date of Registration: Apr May Jun 1980 Registration district: Brent Registration county: Hertfordshire, Suffolk, Surrey, Kent, Greater London, Essex

Name: Adewale Oludaisi T A Onile-Ere Mother's Maiden Surname: Kuyoro Date of Registration: Mar 1984 Registration district: Westminster Registration county: Greater London

Name: Kauyinsola Adunwale O A Onile-Ere Mother's Maiden Surname: Kuyoro Date of Registration: Oct 1985 Registration district: Westminster Registration county: Greater London

RE :)

Lol thats so weird I just saw that like only ten minutes ago on TGJ! Lol. Anyway I prefer the original haha! I just want a good uptempo from her I guess. Well "Speechless" flopped, "Gimme Dat" is only up like +30 plays at number forty-something on urban radio. However, by her being a veteran, I'm not worried about Basic Instinct. I think Ciara is like Ne-Yo is without a hit single, and should make the top ten with about 75-100k. Keri's rebounding, Pretty Girl Rock is declining a bit at what it was made for (mainstream and rhythmic) but is booming at urban. The video (which I haven't told, you is I like) helped it big time. However, seeing that atrocity that is the mess of "The Way I Love You f/Rick Ross" I don't even what I myself think of it now. But she, although only one album into her career, should do around what Ne-Yo accomplished too. And Kelly....let's just leave it at that lol! Candyo32 00:35, 1 December 2010 (UTC)

Hi. I see you moved Better Than Today back to Better than Today. Why? For the reason you put "per WP:CAPS". However I can't see anything there which states that "Than" shouldn't be capitalised. Barnstar

The da Vinci Barnstar
This is k-kinda obvious, but this barnstar is being awarded to you for the wonderful work that you are doing on the Kelly Rowland articles. I was checking them, and they are just simply marvellous. I could not even find a simple fault in them. So unique boy, keep up the good work, and will you fucking remove that semi-retired template?? Watching such beautiful articles Kelly would have indeed said "Watching how I fling my hair". :D — Legolas (talk2me) 14:03, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
Ooooh reference to Willow Smith? Me likes it! I know real life can be too busy sometimes, and WP indeed turns into bitchfest sometimes (well most of the times), but lets not lose hope. Our contributions mark us who we are. By the way, what is this biting and "male who is into other males" tendency?? Me wifey will kill ya! And she's human. 0798 cow5tch you say? R u sure it wasnt a 01114 bullhung8inchdog? Lol. I hope that you nominate "Commander" and it passes. We need a recent song to be FA. Its been long since "4 Minutes" was promoted, and people really need something different to look up to. Vadge is not releasing anything else too soon. Wonjder when will Kelly actually release the album :( — Legolas (talk2me) 15:19, 8 December 2010 (UTC)
Come to think of it, it would be better to nominate "When Love Takes Over". "Commander" they might point out 1b, and ask you to withdraw. Then there's still that promo/real single thing which will crop up at FAC also. Adding to that will be prose. Hence, on a greater retrospective, "Commander" will actually be a hassle. "WLTO" is the better option. Compare with "4 Minutes", try to eradicate any redundant material, go through a peer reviuew, and then nominate... don't forget to take Godhelly Jesusland's name before you nominate...:D — Legolas (talk2me) 15:53, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Beyonce Project

Hi, haven't heard from you since long my friend. Did you join the Beyonce Wikiproject? Jivesh boodhun (talk) 18:02, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

Yes i am very fine, thank you. You scared me. Are you in some kind of trouble. I know we may not leave in the same country but i can at least share your worries. Jivesh boodhun (talk) 18:11, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
To be frank i do not have the maturity required to really understand what you mean. But i pray God so that he helps you in taking the correct decisions in your life. And do not worry. Everyone passes through bad times. You will learn a lot from these bad times and it will make you stronger. I feel a little sad to see (i mean the way you are communicating) you like this. Be brave my friend. You will have a bright future. Trust me. I will never forget how much you have helped me. You are an amazing person. Jivesh boodhun (talk) 18:23, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Yes i am very well. I have promoted "Radio", "Diva" to GA. "If I were a boy". "Ego" and in near future "Why Don't You Love me" are all GA nominees. I am taking "Single Ladies" to FA. It seems you have passed me some your excellent abilities to work for GA. Lol. Jivesh boodhun (talk) 18:30, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Bye, i am going to bed. It felt nice to have a chat with you. See you soon. I hope you will soon have good news for me. Jivesh boodhun (talk) 18:36, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

"Higher" Image.

I forgot about the "fair-use reduce" as I call it. Do you want me to upload another version thats 300x300? IHelpWhenICan (talk) 21:55, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

Really? Why does the color look so...off? It's weird... Like here, here, and here. Do you see it? (And on a COMPLETELY UNRELATED note, I love your page! What do I have to do to set mine up the same way?) IHelpWhenICan (talk) 22:14, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
Sounds wonderful. I appreciate and love the work you have done with all of your articles. I hope to help you on your mission. IHelpWhenICan (talk) 22:23, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
I wish you would have uploaded that cover as a (.png) file. Jpg reduces size and quality, making the small fair-use images blurry. IHelpWhenICan (talk) 22:37, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

I started a new section since it is a slightly new topic. Did you intentionally delete the Music video templates I added to the page? IHelpWhenICan (talk) 22:26, 16 December 2010 (UTC)

Hello, just to let you know I have finished reviewing the article "Grown Woman." This is my first GA Review ever so I apologize if it is not what is supposed to include. Constructive criticism is welcomed =D --Blackjacks101 (talk) 01:57, 18 December 2010 (UTC)

Hey. I'm not sure if the people editing this on Rihanna's tours are being even remotely serious. No Boys Allowed

Hey I thought there was already a Japan release date for No Boys Allowed? Source ozurbanmusic (talk) 23:35, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Ok thanks. Hey do you know if Nelly is featured on the "Lose Control" single? Because IP users keep mentioning he is. ozurbanmusic (talk) 23:59, 19 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, I thought so too. Well the IP users will keep adding it, so we got to explain to them that he's not. ozurbanmusic (talk) 00:13, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Ok that's strange, because iTunes, Amazon, Barnes&Nobel etc. don't mention that he is. Let's just wait till the album is released to hear if he is featured on the song. ozurbanmusic (talk) 00:17, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Well, I adore Mariah Carey and Lady Gaga. It would be amazing for me to be able to take The Fame Monster or The Monster Ball Tour to GA or some of my favourite MC songs like Without You (Badfinger song) or I Still Believe to GA. To be honest though I have no idea where to start.--Blackjacks101 (talk) 23:33, 20 December 2010 (UTC)

Hiii/Update

Ciara is set to bomb with 35-40k. Ouch. But I've got to say, Keri is killin' it with her promo, and "Pretty Girl Rock" is burning up radio!!! CError had to wait until the day after the album was released to give her FIRST performance of this era, and it was hot. But Keri's been everywhere and the albums isn't even out yet. But CiCi's "Turn It Up" looks like it may debut on the Hot 100 from downloads, so she needs to just move onto that so she can get at least a hot single from this era. Also Diddy is promoting the heck outta his album and they are only going to do around 60k. At least you could say Ciara had no promo, but that's just embarrasing for Diddy. The problem is he needs to have Dawn and Kalenna up front instead of his talking (its not even rapping). I mean they were barely shown in the "Coming Home" video. Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 18:13, 16 December 2010 (UTC) Also, since BI is now released just lemme know whenever you want to complete "Ride." Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 00:50, 17 December 2010 (UTC)

Woww I love your new userpage! Anyway, I don't necessarily think it was the choice of singles, because "Speechless", to me, wasn't any different than any other slow jam she's done before. "Gimme Dat" isn't radio compatible, but she completely ripped her live television performances of it (which should have happened weeks ago). To me, it was a complete embarrasement that Ciara accompanied N.E.R.D at the VMAs. Blogs can say what they want but from 2004-2007, Ciara was one of the top five female entertainers in the industry. Jive/LaFace promoted the heck out of Usher, but Ciara? Nope. I think she would be suited for Interscope/Zone 4 with Polow da Don like Keri Hilson is. But if you think about it, when this was released at the peak of "Ride", she would have done so much better. Just like "Pretty Girl Rock" is spiking right at the release of No Boys Allowed. "Turn It Up" needs to be released next, that's the only thing that would make this era somewhat respectable. If they could get it out and it would do good on Top 40 & Rhythmic formats, and then they need a hot performance of it at the Grammys. However, we know none of that would happen. For someone who sold 330k first week only four years ago, its really a shame. Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 21:26, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
Yeah that's true. But she really did good with Fantasy Ride, I mean it wasn't great, but she has the highest peaks with that album oversees compared to her first two. Before I listened to some of BI, I would just say the quality of music. Ciara is successful when she sticks to the formula of the upbeats, reminiscent of "Goodies" or "1, 2 Step" and she is somewhat successful when she does slow burners in the vein of "Promise." But as she said "Basic Instinct" brought it back to the basics, its just unfortunate it will tank. Right now, considering previously released albums are peaking this time of year, we'll be lucky if Ciara debuts in the at least the top thirty. It's bad to say this, but right now its not even at the point where she's trying to be successful, she's struggling to be relevant. Hopefully, she'll bounce back and won't go down in history as the girl who dated Bow Wow and sung "Goodies." Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 23:07, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
I agree! But it's not like "Turn It Up" is one of the best from the record, but something to draw attention would be a duet with Usher. Because really, LSM really wouldn't have been that big without Justin Timberlake. It confuses me how Usher continues to throw out songs for R&B audiences and then for the pop people, and is still uberly successful. But then he is considered the Prince of R&B while Ciara is the Princess of Crunk&B. But I think if she threw it back to "Goodies" especially, it might work, I even heard that numerous times on the radio last week. Thats amazing considering the only new thing I ever witnessed from her on radio this year was "Ride." But look at this, honestly I thought "Speechless" was trash because of its chartings. But then when I listened to it the other day, I thought, this is signature Ciara. And the funny thing about it is, reviewers seem to think so, and some of them have called this her best yet. Hood Ciara is my favorite, like she appeared in those remixes over the summer (yet still seemed to be into pop on BI). And its a shame mainstream radio doesn't support urban cuts that much. But unlike Usher, Ciara cannot embrace the "hood" aspect with trying to dabble into electropop. She really needs to pull an Xtina. I know she filmed a movie in like 2007 or 2008 and that hasn't even been released. smh. Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 23:29, 19 December 2010 (UTC)
Btw, is there a thread or something about zobbel.de being unreliable, because if I can recall, during Ciara's discog FLC, it was said to be used. Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 01:09, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
Daaaanng. That's terrible. I mean and on top of no promotion, the released it at Christmas. They should have waited at the beginning of the year when 60k albums were charting at #1 and some albums with 20-30k were in the top ten. Well at least she did more than the predicted 30-35k. Diddy did way better than the predix to with 87k when it was predicted 60k. I guess hogging up 106 & Park all week does something for you. Stupidly, they had Ciara host the show for one whole week back in October.....smh Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 01:58, 21 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for adding the credits! :) But yeah I hate how the charts work out sometimes. For example this album debuted at 19 a few weeks ago with 39k, and Ciara's 36k and at about 43k. Ugh. But in the past weeks, the predictions have been a little bit off with Billboard than usual, so maybe she'll at least get a top forty lol. Also, it tells you something when Ciara didn't even get into the top ten on iTunes, and in less than a day, Keri Hilson and Keyshia Cole stand in the top five. Look at Cole, whose lead single has only reached 58 on the R&B chart. It's so weird for Ciara to be a traditional singles artist, when most R&B singers are albums artist. Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 17:07, 21 December 2010 (UTC)

When Love Takes Over

Is it the damn WP:ACCESS thing that you used for the charts of the article? If so, then I'm afraid the article will be vehemently opposed for the excessive bolding. FAs are still against the WP:ACCESS issue, as it wasn't explained properly at all to them. — Legolas (talk2me) 12:39, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Single Ladies

Hi, thank you wholeheartedly. Can you please explain these two?

1. Eventually, the music video of "Single Ladies" prompted a legion of imitations and parodies from people all around the world as well as celebrities and the American president Barack Obama. (this makes it sound as if parodies were inevitable and thus needs correcting). 2. The introduction in general is not all-encompassing. See 4 Minutes (featured article) for an example of a better more fluid introduction that speaks of each aspect of the song which, the existing introduction does not.

Jivesh boodhun (talk) 05:52, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Simple, 1) It implies that everybody was parodying Single Ladies, including Obama. It makes people read that Obama was probably wearing a leotard and dancing. I'm not joking. 2) The lead doesnot conform to WP:LEAD and just encompasses some points, while leaving others. — Legolas (talk2me) 12:39, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for your latest message. I have already done the intro but the 4th paragraph is quite long. It's because the video has a lot of impact. Please have a look and re commend changes if any. Merry Christmas. Jivesh boodhun (talk) 20:47, 24 December 2010 (UTC)

Warning over long-term edit-warring at Michael (album) article

You seem to have been engaged in an ongoing edit-war at our Michael (album) article.[3] [4][5] [6][7] [8][9] [10] Please note that even if you don't violate WP:3RR, it is still considered edit-warring if you repeatedly make the same changes over and over again. Edit warring is unconstructive and creates animosity between editors, making it harder to reach a consensus. Users who engage in edit wars risk being blocked or even banned. If you continue to edit war, you may be reported to WP:AN/EW. If you have a response, please post it here as I've added your talk page to my watchlist. Thanks. A Quest For Knowledge (talk) 02:22, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

Yes unfortunately I'm aware of the on-going edit war. I don't know but we need a resolution the issue which is ongoing. Its with regret that I've got caught up in the dispute when I don't actually have much interest in the album. Yet from my point of view there is no consensus for anything other than compilation album. But yeah, your warning is fair. As an experienced editor I should know better. -- Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 02:35, 23 December 2010 (UTC)

218.186.8.235: It takes two to edit war. By my count, we have at least 9 editors who've edit-warred over the album type. A Quest For Knowledge (talk) 17:58, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
Right ok it getting too much now. Give me some time and I will set up a resolution on the talk page. -- Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 18:01, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

RE:

Thanks!! I don't know if I did it right, but I reported it. Its crazy how these same socks come around obsessing with one artist and don't think that anyone will notice it. Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 03:24, 26 December 2010 (UTC)

Btw, GREAT work on "Coming Home." I like that song, I just wish there were more Dawn & Kalenna. That's my main problem with DDM. But I guess they try to do more Diddy since their first official single "Love Come Down" featured more of the girls and it flopped. Anyway, I can finish Ride whenever since I'm on break now. All we really need to finish is expand critical reception with reviews of it from the album and update the chart performance. Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 03:30, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
Sure. I'm getting off now, but in an hour or so I'll try to expand on the critical reception and composition from album reviews. It's snowing crazy outside, so it's not like I can go anywhere anyway, lol. Also, I'll try to see if I can dig up any thing on "Love Come Down" and "Loving You No More." Speaking of Love Come Down, I looked on the album page which I know you've been working on, and it looks fantastic, lol, anyway Love Come Down is listed as a promo. Should it be as such, even though it got a download date and radio add date? Wouldn't it be a non-album single like "Massive Attack" ? Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 15:01, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
Also, this random, but after I saw one of their members featured on LTTP, are you familiar with RichGirl? I was disappointed their single "Swagger Right" didn't blow up. Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 15:03, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
Yeahh! I like Alicia. However, I will say I prefer her past material than what was on Freedom. The Beyonce duet was really underwhelming to me, and it looks as if we may never see that video. They are both superstars, but tbh, the song really wasn't hot. Coming from Swizz Beatz, they should have done one of his signature sireney club bangers. Lemme know any help in particular you would like, I would really like to work on "Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart." Also one day I want to work on the opus that is "No One." Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 00:34, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
Ok that's great! Gimmie Dat should be super easy, I already have some composition and reception in one of my sandboxes from back when it was leaked. "Turn it Up" needs to be released like now. Seems like since the album is has poor sales and "Speechless" and "Gimmie Dat" did nothing, it they would release another single by now. But if Gimmie Dat was released for download right after it was leaked, and she had performances and the music video to back it up way back this summer, it would have smashed. Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 02:23, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
Ehh, I don't like her much either, especially since the Chris Brown debacle. But she does make catchy music. But I hate how people (like Bill Lamb of about.com) put her up on such a high pedastal when she's really not that innovative, although she is an awesome singles artist. In a few minutes, I'll be done adding composition and reception from "Gimmie Dat" that I had already done a while back. So if you could go back and merge that with some of the information about the song form the album reviews, that would be great. Sure, I'd love to work on her discog too. I planned to do several discogs and try to FL-them but my current one is still in nomination for so long, I'm getting discouraged. Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 02:32, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Bubbling under

I kind of skimmed it, so does that mean not use it at all or use it only if there is a note describing it, TBubbling under is confusing, because unlike the UK, where a song can fall from 90-116 on the uk singles chart. Bubbling under is for songs that haven't charted on the hot 100, really the song at 125, wouldnt have charted if it was like the uk. Very confusing.--Procrastisanta (talk) 18:43, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

S&M genres

In my opinion, I do not believe "S&M" is an eurodance and electro song. It is a Stargate produced song, like Only Girl (In the World), the two sound very similar. Plus, On the "Only Girl (In the World)" article, the two genres are Europop and dance-pop. I even read an article stating the two sounded the same. Nickyp88 (talk) 19:18, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

Synthpop

Instead of reverting, I decided to take to your talk page. After much consideration and concluding, I've come to decide that I don't think that synthpop classifies R&B and hip-hop songs that use synths. Although I was supporting such during this big debate a while ago, after research, Synthpop seems be reflective of new wave music. Allmusic calls it "was one of the most distinctive subgenres of new wave" started and continued by artists such as David Bowie and Duran Duran. It also lists related styles as "alternative dance" "techno" and "alternative pop/rock." Artists that they have performing synthpop are Devo, Howard Jones, and more. So maybe this would be a good example of modern-day synthpop, but perhaps not "Speechless" What do you think? Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 22:27, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

I don't know what else could be put that would clarify that, so I guess it should be left as such. Even if the genre were reflective on songs such as "Speechless" or "Ride," those songs aren't pop anyway and definitely not sourced as such. Btw, hopefully I can finish up my part on the little bit of "Ride" and do some work on "Loving You No More" and "Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart" before I go back to school next week. Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 22:45, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
Yepp that's about right. If I stop procrastinating I'll try to work on it later on. I just happened to look at "Coming Home" again to see that Cassie has background vocals on it! Diddy has so many females on that song its crazy lol. Did you ever listen to or like her? Many blogs just call her a model lol. But since she and Diddy are supposed to or at one point were together, you can see why she's on there lol. Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 01:23, 28 December 2010 (UTC)
Before I forget to tell you, HDD is reporting Keri should be #11 with 90-110k. I hope she gets a top ten, I hate when respectable albums and songs miss it by one spot. Hopefully they will be off again this week. Back to Cassie, Well reportedly she has recorded like fifty songs already for her new album and is taking her time so "people can respect it." Lol. And J.Lo I'm not too excited about her, or the new American Idol. I'm just ready for the X Factor debut over here. But I do miss her early 2000s heyday. Btw, BRAVO work on "Ass On the Floor." You're just on a roll! Haha. I should have done more work before I had to do some stuff today, but I got kind of discouraged after being told off for not conducing a GAN properly :( Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 02:40, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
Hmm, I would have to say no on it as a single. First of all, "Monster Mondays" is sort of like Kanye's "G.O.O.D Fridays" and are similar to mixtape downloads. MTV Newsroom really can be off sometimes as for several of Justin Bieber's promotional singles, they called them singles. As for performances, it really doesn't guarantee a single as some of the songs Keyshia Cole and Jamie Foxx's songs they performed last week for their albums are not singles. As for "The Silence", Alex is primarily for the UK market which is different from the US, because most singles released here don't get a separate listing anyway. Numerous songs can debut on the R&B chart because several songs appear on Urban airplay that are not singles, because they get minor airplay. This song is probably that case, since it charted so low. Aside from the previous information, I've been seeing that the song with Usher was supposed to be the third single. Anyway, surely it would be a single, then it would have definitely gotten a radio add date. However, I've been wondering about Rihanna's "Raining Men" might be the third, US only single for her album which was sent to urban radio. It appeared moderately on the US R&B, but doesn't have a cover or video. I would put it in the same boat as "Woohoo." But I don't want to change it on her discography as such because I know the stans will have a fit and deny it as such since it didn't chart. Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 03:18, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
The article looks great!!! But one thing I would ask, isn't there surely a source where it could be hip-hop or electrohop? I'm trying to collect information on "Loving You No More" it seems as if critics refused to comment on the song in album reviews. lol Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 03:57, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
You're right, in a short little search I couldn't find a reliable site to call it hip-hop. Smh, what were they thinking lol. The thing about LYNM is Diddy's singing wasn't really appealing and Dawn & Kalenna needed to be up & front like in Ass on the Floor lol. If I bring myself to, I'll try to do some Loving You No More, but my FL FINALLY passed, so I'm going to work on another. Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 04:06, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
Thanks & I'm glad you're gonna work on IPW :) I'm like drained of Keri stuff now lol. The only single left is "Energy", which should be easy. I thought I did "Knock you Down" good, but it has been ripped into at GAN. Anyway, I also wanna work on some Jordin Sparks stuff soon. Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 04:17, 31 December 2010 (UTC)
Me too! It may would take more work than the others since it is her biggest hit. I love it, its my favorite song of hers, and I wish she would go in an R&B direction. Hope she doesn't go in a dance-pop direction, because S.o.S. did good in the UK but it only did good on the dance chart here. But according to some critics in an MTV article, the dance-pop phase should be out soon. Candyo32 - Merry CHRISTmas :) 04:28, 31 December 2010 (UTC)

Hey I noticed you were trying to get Poison to GA quality. Need any help? --Cprice1000talk2me 21:12, 30 December 2010 (UTC)

OK, so I couldn't reference it like Commander, but I was able to give a description like Bad Romance or Womanizer. It's OK, I guess but, this probably won't work.

Music video Directed by Joseph Kahn, the music video for "Poison" features Scherzinger "sporting a skintight ninja outfit as she dance-fights with baddies."[1] The video's superhero theme has been compared to Kahn's "Toxic" video for Britney Spears.

Synopsis The video begins on a city sidewalk where Scherzinger walks into a telephone booth as several men in black suits pass by the booth. As Scherzinger begins to undress, the men stop to stare as she begins taking of her classing and shake her hair back. The video then moves to Scherzinger in a dress walking past four men mopping a floor to a supply closet where she enters and reappears moments later dressed in a black body suit with a cape. As the chorus begins, Scherzinger is shown fighting back-and-forth between jail prisoners dressed in striped suits and the police. As the song progresses, Scherzinger is shown in a classic looking automobile and riding a BMW motorcycle, with a streaking white and black background. Several shots of Scherzinger alone in a room with two prisoners. As the bridge begins, she is shown standing by a podium, talking to a group of reporters while waving her hands in the air. As the bridge ends, she brings her hands down, blowing back all of the reporters, who then begin dancing and pumping their arms to the song. The video moves to Scherzinger dancing with the police and prisoners before ending with her blowing the two men who were in the room with her and walking away.

Reception MTV's Gil Kaufman called the video "slinky". Robbie Daw from Idolator, said that "[we were] unsure about [...] 'Poison' when it first surfaced. But now that it’s been fitted with a somewhat stylish Joseph Kahn video, it’s all sort of starting to fall into place. 'Poison' video is super hot trash on a budget. .. But giving people with this much guilty pleasure in four minutes is just plain priceless."[2] French magazine Musique Mag, said that "[...] varying scenes, and fighting against thugs become [a] frenzied choreography.[3]

It would be nice to work with you on Hush Hush, Doll Domination, and She Wolf! Also, I have yet to add the above to the article, since I was awaiting your feedback. Should we just wait until you add to it, or add what we already have? --Cprice1000talk2me 22:23, 30 December 2010 (UTC)

I caught some serious mistakes in the above and fixed, as well as adding in a few things about the supervillain/superhero egos that you mentioned in your image, which does a great job in illustrating the video. --Cprice1000talk2me 22:40, 30 December 2010 (UTC)

Shakira

Hey. I hope you had a great Christmas! Just dropping by to ask if you'd like to help me with the Shakira discography article. I have already converted it, and fixed up the main discography on my sandbox. And I've also been trying to make a videography article for her here. I've been trying my best to get it quite notable, but I'm still not really sure. I mean, I know she really should have one, with all the videos she has, but I don't find it up to be like Beyoncé Knowles videography, which I was basing it off of. ΣПDiПGSTΛЯT 17:52, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Haha, thanks so much. Well, on the discography, the only thing I think needs some fixing is the lead. It's a bit long I think. I tried to shorten it as much as I could, but I'm not too good at doings leads. xD Yeah, I'm hoping to. ΣПDiПGSTΛЯT 18:02, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

WLTO and crappy crappy songs

I was actually keeping myself away from WLTO as much as I can, so that when I review it, I will have a fresh mindset, and won't remember the GA review that I did for it. That's how you should proceed. Keep away from the article for a few days, then come back and see. You will find more prose errors. Another thing, the non-free checks at FAC are a major pain now. You have to have a tremendously strong non-free content rationale for the music sample, music video image and album cover. I commented at the talk page of teh beyonce wikiproject that dont take the comments as being directed at only the bey articles, but that the level of crappy reviews were more prevalent in the Bey wikiproject now. The Mariah one I believe follows suit. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:21, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

The wikicup wont be a factor because its just starting now. I think the novelty of adding a sign on userpage is becoming too much, and alas, for some of them, it becomes outright hostily for getting an article promoted to GA within the next day it is nominated. It pains me to say so, but although our new bunch of editors are extremely enthusiastic (Jivesh? lol) and good content editors, they are, also kinda hasty, impatient and do not have farsight. They dont understand that GA is not the ultimate level, if you are reviewing an article, review it keeping FAC in mind. That does the trick, but I will probably the only exception to this school of thought. Our new editors hardly pay attention to WP:V and WP:MOS, one of the strongholds for WP's article editing. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:39, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

RE:

I left my two cents. Not wanting to throw names out there, but in recent months we have seen inexperienced users conducting reviews, as well as users rushing to GA articles like tomorrow is not gonna come lol (see my comments on the Bey WP talk). Anyway, I know I say this all the time, but hopefully soon I can start on the Alicia article, the LYNM article, and some Jordin stuff. If you get a chance, could you drop some comments here? Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 06:33, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

Sorry for saying this, when you saw that inexperienced editors conducting review, why didn't you stop it? Candy, your comments are contradicting your edits. — Legolas (talk2me) 06:39, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
Well I didn't want to be all like "Hey, you don't know what you are doing, you shouldn't be reviewing articles." Idk. I also tried my best to politely tell Jivesh he needed to slow wayyy down on those Bey articles, but it seemed as if the more I did, the faster he went trying to get them done. Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 06:43, 2 January 2011 (UTC)
Oh god, Candy you dont know what you've done then. The problem is epidemic now. I won't point to Jivesh, as I scold the poor kid enough times (That probably got me the nickname Rude boy) but the poor kid hasn't done any reviews. Its the existing editors prior to Jivesh. I'm afraid, you were also involved in this "Swap" reviews, started probably by PeterGriffin. That was the sole point from where everything went downhill. Anyways, I hope you take this chance to learn that whenever you see something you dont agree with, please be vocal. You are not getting a Miss Congeniality award here from anyone. :) — Legolas (talk2me) 06:52, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

Raining Men

Could you keep check on the article. I can see and edit war is about to brew. Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 03:08, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

This is getting ridiculous. Now if the song had blown up at radio, they would want to add it. It doesn't even make sense logically, because if S&M also flops, are they going to say that's not a single either? Lol. Anyway, even if it were technically "cancelled" as some said about "Woohoo" and "Like a Surgeon" their is no such thing as that because you cannot retract a release. You may not promote it, but you can't redo. Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 04:20, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Gonna butt in here, but after thinking about it, how can we say "S&M" is going to be a single with only an addon date, but "Raining Men" can't? nding·start 21:00, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

It seems that because S&M is getting a video, Nicky88 thinks it is more of a single than "Raining Men". -- Lil_niquℇ 1 [talk] 21:04, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
Sure I'll take the role of talk page stalker for a while! Lol. And back to the "Raining Men", like I said, both of them got add dates. A single, music video, or promotion does not make a single, but a radio add date or in other situations, a download/CD single would do. Just because promotion does not take place does not take away from the release/add date. Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 23:32, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

Re: Alicia Keys

Merry Christmas to you too! Hope everything's well! I guess I'm not a huge fan of Keys, but I certainly appreciate what she does. And I have to admire her piano-playing skills and her graduation from secondary school at the age of sixteen. :) I'd be glad to help out! I guess I'm better at the c/e-ing stuff. :P Do you have something layed out, like certain articles you would like to work on first, or have you not had time to get there yet? I don't know if I'll be around much; I'm back home for the holidays and catching up with friends and such, but I'd like to help, and will definitely be more active in the new year. Yves (talk) 04:15, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Oh, that sucks; Rolling Stone's a solid reviewer! And it probably got lost when they revamped their site not too long ago. The discography page says they don't have a historical review for it, but they still have its star rating there, as well as on the album guide page. Maybe it was published in their physical magazine? I searched for it using WorldCat, and it's actually from an article entitled "Soul divas in an Auto-Tune age: Mary J. and Alicia meet the future.", published in issue 1096 of Rolling Stone (21 Jan 2010). Looking for it online again, it's not on rollingstone.com, but it is on their Indian site. Does that work? And I'll try looking for more reviewers, but I'm thinking as Americans would be most familiar with Keys and her work, their reviews would be more in-depth and numerous, but that's just my opinion. Yves (talk) 05:45, 27 December 2010 (UTC)
Sure, I'll see what I can do! Paraphrasing and using less direct quotes would shorten it and make it less of a WP:QUOTEFARM. I'm off to sleep now, but work should be done shortly! Yves (talk) 06:13, 27 December 2010 (UTC)

Is it alright if I get rid of some less notable reviews (i.e. The Star-Ledger, PopMatters), or would you rather I not do that? Also, I see several non-American reviews (Toronto Star, BBC Online, Digital Spy, The Independent, The Observer), so maybe I could place some of those in the ratings template instead? Just some initial thoughts. Yves (talk) 02:11, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

Hey, listen. I'm working on the article right now, and I'm just so conflicted on how to approach this. I originally considered rewriting the entire section, but decided that might take too long. Then I thought I could just trim it and merge a couple of reviews and stuff, but that's also proving difficult. I started work on moving some information on composition (genres, sound comparisons, etc.), like the '80s Prince pop sound, to a separate section, and I still may do that. I've just been thinking about it and working on it for the past little while, and I think the best course of action for me here is to start from scratch, on a separate sandbox, starting with one review, and just continuing the building of information. There is just so much there, that I think it's making it seem so daunting, which it could be, but it would be easier if it wasn't all there, you know? Just wanted to update you. Well.....

I tried...... lol. How bad is it? Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 03:23, 10 January 2011 (UTC)

Okeyy dokeyy thankss!! Lol. SO do you wanna make any corrections before I nominate, since I highly doubt any information will come up about the song that would need to be included. I'll make a thourough check up on it too, since I've been criticized by Legolas recently for not copyediting articles before they are nominated loll... Hmmm...lets do "Ride" first, as it has most of the information there, while "Gimmie Dat" might need a bit more pruning. We could split it up, what should be done? Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 03:35, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
Ok sounds good. I'll wait till then. & I'll wait until you see any more erros on LYNM. Btw, another user added that I just hadn't really cleaned up the synopsis yet. Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 20:39, 10 January 2011 (UTC)
BTW, YESSSS Turn it Up is CiCi's next single!! Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 16:07, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
Idk if you saw my past postings, but I've used album reviews to do expansions to Gimmie Dat & Ride. Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 22:46, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
Ok good. Also, I was gonna do a page for "Basic Instinct (U Got Me)" getting composition and reception from album reviews & info from when the song first came out, music video info, and background detailing Keri and Ciara's "feud." But seeing what's going on at Freakum Dress, I shouldn't do it right? Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 22:56, 11 January 2011 (UTC)
Yeah that is true. Because it could be something of Turnin Me On#Diss controversy in the article. Anyway, just drop me an update on any more plans for the CiCi articles. Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 23:04, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

Hold It Against Me

If I upload the image the right size I can put it in place of that? Because I had already created and uploaded to the first page in order to add it to the infobox, but I forgot that the image would have to have the dimensions 300x300.*Fr@Πkl!nG* (talk) 00:04, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

Finished

Hi, I finished the copyedit, so you can do the GA review whenever you want now. Reaper Eternal (talk) 13:46, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

What were you thinking?

:)MuZemike 22:46, 13 January 2011 (UTC)

Hello Lil-unique1. I used to have the problem of accidentally hitting rollback links on my watchlist, especially on a small device. See this edit which makes rollback links disappear from your watchlist (although you still have rollback links on history pages). I lost track of who first recommended this. EdJohnston (talk) 00:24, 14 January 2011 (UTC)

Re: Flesh Tone

The problem wasn't exactly the individual chart sources, but the inconsistent chart names ("Belgium Ultratop Albums", "Dutch MegaCharts"), the references format and the sources itself (i.e.: the source for the Irish chart links to the overall IRMA page, not to a steady source showing the peak position). I wasn't aware that individual references were the standard for GA articles, and if you could show me evidence of this I'd much appreciate it and therefore adopt such standard. Wow, thank you. I mentioned this earlier, but can you take a look at Diva (Bey) article? Many changes have been made. Is it okay now? Also, about the correction, it is okay. And, I won't hold it against you =D The song has become very famous within hours! Novice7 | Talk 12:43, 11 January 2011 (UTC)

I've left a message at the GA page. Also, do you know anything about a singer called Rosie Ribbons? I read she released a single called "A Little Bit" in UK. I was wondering if you know anything about it :) Novice7 | Talk 08:33, 13 January 2011 (UTC)
Hi! You might have seen, that is, Canadian Singles Chart and some other charts do not have a template. I' not allowed to convert the macro back into non-template form. Is it okay if it stays like that? Novice7 | Talk 04:21, 16 January 2011 (UTC)
The Ultratop.be website shows it charted on the Ultratop charts, but a weekly check says it reached number two on the Ultratip chart. I thought Tip calculated both sales/airplay, so I left it that way. Similarly, there is Romanian chart too (I found a reliable archive for it) :) Novice7 | Talk 04:30, 16 January 2011 (UTC)

I think "Good Hit" is just another buzz single, but why would she give it a music video instead of "On the Floor?" Hmmmmmmmm...... does this sound familiar to you? Louboutins Fresh Out the Oven --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 02:40, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

October.......? When's it gonna surface in full? (Or has it already and I'm too slow?) That's good, since I think they're both great songs, but I do want to see a double a-side sorta thing happen here. I'm not going to wait for her to push the album back another 6 months before I can get the song. I'm just a little upset after a year of pushbacks, I guess :P --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 02:48, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Can't tell if that's good or bad... Sounds like if she can't get it out by April they're just gonna cancel it. I'm sure they (Def Jam and Epic) have already invested a lot of money into to keep it afloat for over a year. Also, I'm not sure if the quality is what I was hoping for, looking back on J.Lo and This is Me... Then, as well as other past albums by my favorite aritsts, it seems as if they are all switching from quality to quantity. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 03:08, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

On the Floor

Just got home and listened to "On the Floor!" I have to say I am relieved with this result; I wan't too happy with the leaks at all. But this is awesome!! Certainly better than Fresh Out the Oven and as good, if not better than Louboutins. --ĈÞЯİŒ 1ооо 21:48, 18 January 2011 (UTC)

Hiii

Idk if you saw my new comment on the never-ending "Raining Men is a promo single" debate, but the label is re-sending it to Urban radio, or maybe the first release was cancelled and they are trying it again. Anyway, it seems to be a good deal as it has not only rebounded, but is doing pretty good. Candyo32 - Happy New Year :) 00:41, 19 January 2011 (UTC)

DYK for Hold It Against Me

Materialscientist (talk) 12:04, 21 January 2011 (UTC)

RE:=

Urggh idk. One day, I think it was John from Pickney saw that the ref didn't cover her features (i don't know how that happened) and put astericks beside them. Some one, I forgot who fixed the her solo singles that were unverified, and that's why they are incorrectly formatted. ERggh I just haven't had the time to fix them. I'll get to it soon. Anyway, those Rihanna stans were too quick to call RM a promo. After almost falling off the urban chart, it is back and is in the top 30, +256! Rihanna reign won't let up? Raining Men re-release

Just wanted to bring this up to you. As you've probably seen, the song is being re-released to radio, it looks to me like the December date was just a promotional date, and "S&M" and "Raining Men" are being released together. nding·start 18:58, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Yeah, I know that. I was thinking about it, and it being re-released the same time as "S&M" makes the other date look different in my eyes. I say it's fine for now, until we get more information. If a bigger release comes out with it (such as a video, cover, promotion, etc.) I say that the December date should just be called a promotional date. nding·start 19:04, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
Haha, yeah, I get it. We'll know soon enough I guess. Could you please take part in this discussion about [Talk:Les Folies Tour#Name Change Kylie's upcoming tour name please?]. It seems that this user doesn't agree with the name it has at the moment, and since the tour has a million names, I think one needs to be decided on. nding·start 19:18, 22 January 2011 (UTC)

Shattered Glass

After seeing the mission to create a page for every song from B'Day and I Am... Sasha Fierce, I have made one for Shattered Glass here.
