Description
[edit]A Wiki project for the best-selling female artist and vocalist of all time, please join and help out :) She is the best-selling female artist of all time, with well over 225 million records sold worldwide. She is the best-selling Non-Asian act throughout Asia and has success in every worldwide market. She is arguable, the best female vocalist in the world, she has it all, she influenced the use of melisma to the acts such a Beyonce, Britney, Alicia, Christina etc. She has a 5 octave vocal range and has a special whistle register. She has broken almost every record there is, and I am doing everything I can to better her articles :). Please help out CallMeNathan • Talk2Me 19:26, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Support (would join) Like the newly created Wikipedia:WikiProject Beyoncé Knowles this group of editors seems to work very well together. Lets get there experience in music articles focused on Mariah Carey by supporting the proposal. As per Category:Mariah Carey looks like they have lots to work with.Moxy (talk) 19:42, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Side note: I am willing to make the whole project for them assessments and all.Moxy (talk) 20:01, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Support The artist is big enough to warrant a single project devoted to her. Jayy008 (talk) 19:48, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Support I would not join, but Mimi seems to have quite a vast discography and could benefit from a project. Adabow (talk · contribs) 20:28, 14 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

- Suppport, there are plenty of strong and determined editors, of the quality required, how have already made a massive contribution to the development of articles related to Carey. Whether you like her or not, she has made a massive contribution to the industry and so this project would really help in co-ordinating all of the efforts to improve articles. -- Lil_℧niquℇ №1 | talk2me 16:38, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Support Another artist who I really don't understand why she has no WikiProject. Tbh®tchTalk © Happy Holidays 22:58, 15 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Support Over 20 years of being active as a musician and 18 number-ones (tied with the Beatles). Seems like more than enough. -- ipodnano05 * leave@message 00:56, 10 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
- Support definitly interesting.--BabbaQ (talk) 15:25, 27 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Discussion
[edit]- For the record, single artist music projects invariably fail to achieve 'critical' editorial 'mass' and go {{semi-active}}, {{inactive}} or {{historical}} after a year or two. I see this new project only has three members. That's not enough to sustain it. (Also the Music project hasn't been consulted.) I think it's much better to work within genre projects (R&B and Soul in this case?) where development of articles is likely to be ongoing. --Kleinzach 04:30, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- We can deal with the inactive issue when and if it arises. Chances are someguy will tag the project {{inactive}} in a few months anyways and scare of any new editors - Couch Couch hint hint!!! (Then we can merger into a task force if need be). Positive contributions is what we are looking for here. And for the record most old inactive projects did archive lots and is y they dieoff because they did what they set out to do in the first place. Moxy (talk) 05:09, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Moxy: You are involved in almost every one of these micro music projects. Will you be joining this particular project to write and edit actual articles? Or just to make coloured boxes? P.S. Have you always been Moxy? Perhaps you were someone else before? --Kleinzach 05:45, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
- Did you even look at my user page?? I edit genetic and history articles and help set up Music projects with assessments ..perhaps make them a portal and other coding that new people are not familiar with. Yes this is what we do here we join and help were we can and wish to. What have you ever done for any mainstream musician. Your not someone that ever ever helps this projects in fact you go out of your way to make sure they all fail --you tag them prematurely even when asked not do so and shown our policy on that fact. And yes i had another name (Buzzsherman as indicated on my page) the guy that talk about your projects problem with ownership of articles in that you think its ok to tell our editors they must discuss with you before they add an infoboxs to a musicians pages that you edit. Anywas just try and do something positive for this WP just one time pls. PS i am still waiting for you to put a line over this comment (Sorry to all that are reading this i just have had about enough of this guys negative attitude) Moxy (talk) 06:02, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
