Information icon Hello, I'm Dl2000. I noticed that you recently removed content from Kattakkada (State Assembly constituency) without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Your contributed article, Janam TV

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Janam TV. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Janam TV (Kerala BJP channel). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Janam TV (Kerala BJP channel). If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. ❙❚❚❙❙ JinOy ❚❙❚❙❙ 13:27, 1 April 2020 (UTC)

Blocked 60 hours for continuing to make a mess of an article despite numerous warnings

Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 60 hours for abuse of editing privileges. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Sir OhNoitsJamie, I understood that I am blocked for the excess of images on the page Malappuram district. Sir, I humbly request you to replace the lost content during undoing. Some contents too are lost which have credible sources. My intention was just to improve the page. The images I had placed on the page were suitable to those paragraphs. I have a request to revert the page to the previous version. Only sir can do it. I believe that placing suitable images on suitable paragraphs is not against the policies and guidelines of Wikipedia. Every title had only one or two images with it. I understood that there wasn't any need to put the Image Gallery there. The image gallery has already removed from there by sir. After Sir's warnings, I didn't have replaced the gallery there. The images I added then all were just content-related and they were added in suitable paragraphs. I ensure that I will no more add any image on the page more than what was there in my last edit. You can trust me. I believe that the edits made by me in the content were all productive. Faithfully, Kambliyil

Decline reason:

This unblock request is basically incoherent. I can't tell if you think your edits were appropriate or inappropriate. I can't tell, if unblocked, whether you'd reinstate your edits. I can't tell what you think about images. Yamla (talk) 15:15, 21 April 2020 (UTC)

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Wikipedia is not a photo gallery. You were warned multiple times and given policy links, and you continued to add new, redundant images. If after your block expires you resume adding new images or making other disruptive edits (adding unsourced content, etc), your next block will be longer. OhNoitsJamie Talk 15:38, 21 April 2020 (UTC)

Okay, sir. I have understood it.

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Malappuram district, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Elamkulam (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Malappuram district

Some suggestions: (1) Please consider using the "Show preview" function; this helps reduce the need to make small edits or revert your own mistakes or experiments. You're filling the revision history with minor edits, which makes it difficult for others to read the edit history. (2) Please use edit summaries to describe the changes you are making. This also makes the edit history easier to follow. Thanks, OhNoitsJamie Talk 14:34, 18 June 2020 (UTC)

Adding pointless maps to articles, violation of WP:NOR

Please stop adding a pointless "north Kerala" map to articles; a user-created map defining a division that is not backed by a source is a violation of our no original research policy. The article infoboxes already have a map which shows where the district is in the context of the state; having a second map for "North Kerala" confuses the issue as it doesn't appear to be a defined entity. Recent edit reversion

In this edit here, I reverted some information that appears to be a violation of our copyright policy.

I provided a brief summary of the problem in the edit summary, which should be visible just below my name. You can also click on the "view history" tab in the article to see the recent history of the article. This should be an edit with my name, and a parenthetical comment explaining why your edit was reverted. If that information is not sufficient to explain the situation, please ask.

I do occasionally make mistakes. We get hundreds of reports of potential copyright violations every week, and sometimes there are false positives, for a variety of reasons. (Perhaps the material was moved from another Wikipedia article, or the material was properly licensed but the license information was not obvious, or the material is in the public domain but I didn't realize it was public domain, and there can be other situations generating a report to our Copy Patrol tool that turn out not to be actual copyright violations.) If you think my edit was mistaken, please politely let me know and I will investigate. S Philbrick(Talk) 15:36, 25 November 2020 (UTC)

Edit summaries

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Zamorin of Calicut into Valanchery. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 23:06, 28 December 2020 (UTC)

Stop icon

Your recent editing history at Left Democratic Front (Kerala) shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. To resolve the content dispute, please do not revert or change the edits of others when you are reverted. Instead of reverting, please use the talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. The best practice at this stage is to discuss, not edit-war. See the bold, revert, discuss cycle for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you do not violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 08:39, 19 May 2021 (UTC)

I noticed you made these edits on 15 June 2021: diff + diff + diff. They each add the same text to three different articles (History of Kerala + Malabar Coast + Geography of Kerala). Kambliyil, the question was that did you write the text yourself on one page and then copy paste on the others or did you copy the text from somewhere and copy paste it in the pages? I think more than anything, you need to understand that if you copy pasted from a Wikipedia article but didn't write it yourself you need to mention on which page you found the text in the edit summary. On an additional note, I hope you already understand this but if you copy paste something from a different website, it's most likely a copyright violation. Tayi Arajakate, Hi, the edits described above were taken from the page Kerala in Wikipedia. Kambliyil (talk) 08:49, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
Your explanations indicate there is a large problem and I am inclined to block you indefinitely to prevent further disruption. Perhaps you are not able to communicate well in English. If that is the case, you should not be editing here, or, if you are editing here, you should be performing problem-free edits and should not repeat mistakes raised on your talk page.
Suggesting that you "forget to explain the edits" entirely misses the point—there have multiple comments on this page telling you that you must not copy text without proper attribution. That means do not do it.
Regardless of copyright violations, what is the benefit from copy/pasting identical text among multiple articles? Such duplication is not helpful and it should not be done unless a discussion at a relevant WP:Wikiproject has agreed with the procedure.
A final problem is that your response ignores the final two sentences of my comment—it appears you ignored the "3rd request" from Diannaa in the section just above this and only made the above brief comments because I mentioned a possible block at ANI. Johnuniq (talk) 09:56, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
Johnuniq, I've come across Kamabliyil's editing from time to time and they have a lot of productive gnomish edits. Looking at their grammar, I think they have enough grasp of English to be able to understand if they bothered to pay attention and ask questions if they don't understand something properly. So I'm not happy that they might be facing an indefinite block, but then again if they don't change their behavior, it's probably inevitable. Tayi Arajakate Talk 10:48, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
What about User talk:Kambliyil/Archive 1#Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution (3rd request) above? What explanation could there be for the lack of response to that third request, combined with the repeated problems shown in my comment starting this section? Could that really be not bothering to pay attention? What about the desirability of frequent copy/pasting text even if properly attributed? Johnuniq (talk) 10:58, 16 June 2021 (UTC)
Words such as "attribution", "formatted", "licensing", "extensive", etc will sound pretty technical to non-native speakers and is not very common in general English usage in India so it might just be that they didn't properly understand what the section says and didn't bother further. Of course they could look up the meaning of words they don't understand and/or ping the person who left the notice and ask if it could be explained in more simplified terms.
They should probably tone down on the copy-pasting but I don't think these are per se undesirable, some of them individually at least are improvements to their respective articles. Tayi Arajakate Talk 11:33, 16 June 2021 (UTC)

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Kerala, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Azhikode.
