Could you help me solve Prhartcom's comments on Enthiran's talk page? Thanks. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 17:56, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
- You seem to have solved most of them. Kailash29792 (talk) 18:35, 3 March 2015 (UTC)
- But for the few of them that are remaining, I need your help. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 04:40, 4 March 2015 (UTC)
I have solved almost all of Prhartcom's comments till now. How do you suggest to resolve one of his comment which I have posted below.
"The robot Chitti featured in the film was a mannequin created in Los Angeles by Legacy Effects." : I'm sorry, I am confused; I thought that Rajinikanth played Chitti, not a mannequin. Do you mean only for certain shots? I believe others will be confused and this needs to be clarified. Also, it probably needs to be placed somewhere else (again) in a more appropriate location within this section (or completely deleted), not tacked on near the end."
Thanks. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 03:30, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
- I don't know; as I recall in certain scenes, Chitti's mannequin is only visible without the prosthetic skin that would give him Rajinikanth's appearance. Kailash29792 (talk) 03:34, 5 March 2015 (UTC)
Prhartcom has asked me to revamp the "Themes and influences" section. Can you help me with it? — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 04:09, 6 March 2015 (UTC)
Would you like to conduct a GA Review on this article? Let me know if you are interested. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 05:45, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry I can't due to numerous real life roadblocks, but I wish you all the best for the GAR. Kailash29792 (talk) 05:50, 10 March 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks! Will inform you when it is done. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 06:57, 10 March 2015 (UTC)

Enthiran FAC comments
I seem to have got an oppose from Sandy. Can you help me solve the repetitive cases? — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 05:30, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
- I'll do all I can. And please refrain from adding graphics (like " Done") on FAC pages as they can create problems of an unknown nature. Kailash29792 (talk) 05:32, 12 March 2015 (UTC)
Can you expand the awards section as per Doc's comments at FAC? Thanks. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 11:35, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
- I don't know what to do. Apart from the National, Filmfare and Vijay, do you know any other major Indian award worth adding? Kailash29792 (talk) 13:19, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
- How about adding the nominations for each of them as well? — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 13:40, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
- I don't want to clutter up the FAC review more than is necessary, so I'll ask my question here: "The project backfires when the robot falls in love with the scientist's girlfriend, and is manipulated by a rival scientist into destroying all who stand in its way." Stand in its way of doing what? Eric Corbett 20:21, 14 March 2015 (UTC)
- It just becomes a homicidal maniac. Can we write that way? Kailash29792 (talk) 03:42, 15 March 2015 (UTC)
Jr. NTR filmography
Hi, Kailash. Would you mind reviewing or nominating NTR's filmography for FLC. I took a break for one week but there hasn't been any progress. As for Ssven2, he is busy with Enthiran, so I approached you. If there are any errors, let me know.
Thank you, Maheshreddy2 (talk) 16:38, 16 March 2015 (UTC)
- Acually, no. I will not be nominating it because I did not develop the article, but I may review it if possible. Kailash29792 (talk) 03:03, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
Vidya Balan
Happened to see this interview. Her article states she was brought up speaking a mix of Malayalam and Tamil. But in the interview, she answers only in Tamil (albeit the Palakkad dialect) and English, and further confesses that she even lacks the understanding of Malayalam. Don't want to change this in the article, just for discussion sake I'm asking. —Vensatry (ping) 18:35, 13 March 2015 (UTC)
- Krimuk90, is it worth adding the interview as a source to the article? Kailash29792 (talk) 18:38, 13 March 2015 (UTC)
- And this is a nearly a word-by-word translation of what she said in Tamil (in the previous link) to English. —Vensatry (ping) 18:44, 13 March 2015 (UTC)

- @Vensatry: Yes it did. I did not imagine her speaking Telugu till she did when i was watching it on TV. Also if possible, watch the last episode of Meelo Evaru Koteeswarudu season 2. Kamal Haasan spoke many things there which may interest all of you who understand the language. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 07:58, 17 March 2015 (UTC)

- @Vensatry: Two errors committed in a hurry. First a typo error, it was him in place of her. Second, i wanted to ping Ssven2 just before the line :Also if ....". They were committed due to lack of concentration as my sister was yelling at me for not receiving her well. After i checked it, i wanted to rectify, but you gave your reply. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 08:37, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
- Ha okay. Guess his Telugu is way better than Telugu heroes speaking Tamil. :) Yeah, his role as a dance assistant and the "bit-role" in Shrimantudu is a relatively unknown fact. —Vensatry (ping) 10:04, 17 March 2015 (UTC)
- Yes. He used to say ANR was his guru. It was evident at the screening of Manam where he could not control his tears (source: IANS). Who thought that a dance assistant would make it such great as an actor that he is revered by one and all today? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 10:25, 17 March 2015 (UTC)

Yeah, I've read the article. And regarding his command over Telugu, I think you should see all his Telugu films starting from Maro Charitra. With the exception of Anthuleni Katha, I'm sure he must have dubbed for himself in all films. For modulation, you should watch this film. —Vensatry (ping) 10:57, 17 March 2015 (UTC)

- Hmm, let me watch the movie once again. I don't think Papanasam is the kind of film that he should do. I'm not sure how he is going to handle the role of a "common man" with perfection as it's not his forte. —Vensatry (ping) 17:20, 17 March 2015 (UTC)

Images.
My apologies, I realized my mistake after I had done it. We can upload the new image on the old file and mark the new one for deletion, to correct this. There was also no need to call me an idiot, it was a simple mistake. Obi-WanKenobi-2005 (talk) 17:23, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
- Jedi master, I did not call you an idiot. Only you actions. Kailash29792 (talk) 17:26, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
- Well, it was implied through that, but, there was no offense taken from it. I usually upload a new image on an old file and I was tired and entered a new title. Truce? Obi-WanKenobi-2005 (talk) 17:30, 18 March 2015 (UTC)
- I went ahead and added a merger suggestion to the new poster to help get this corrected. I hope that this makes up for my mistake. Obi-WanKenobi-2005 (talk) 17:46, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

Sock notifications
Hi Kailash, a quick unsolicited note with regard to this. You're not required to notify socks the way you are when you file at ANI. In my experience, there is no value to notifying suspected socks, and it only makes them pissy as you may have noticed, and tips them off so that they can quickly move to a new account. I prefer to keep everything on the hush until they get blocked. It's the only real satisfaction that I get from their disruption—it's like watching a fired employee fiddle with the keys when you've already changed the locks. You're obviously free to do as you please, but I thought I'd offer a piece of advice from my own travels. Happy editing! Cyphoidbomb (talk) 17:58, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
- I have found the user's identity (his earliest account User:SanjayJoseph has his Facebook page) which I could use to get him prosecuted. But I hesitate to do so, and Wikipedia, being its own democracy, should be able to. Kailash29792 (talk) 18:06, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
- Tread very carefully here. Just because he posted a FB account that doesn't mean it is really him, and Wikipedia has very specific rules about WP:OUTING, even if the editor is a vandal. I'd hate to see a good editor like you get sanctioned for something that is easily avoidable! No more talk of his suspected identity! Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:42, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
- I'd also advise that. Unfortunately, the internet is full of troublemakers. We can only do what we can on Wikipedia. Cowlibob (talk) 07:44, 20 March 2015 (UTC)

Yes, I understand your point. I have added enough references for all films and yes the principal photography happened for the said films. Thank you for your valid point. Rajeshbieee (talk) 12:48, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
Quick question
Hi. Hope you're well. Quick query. What would be the English translation of this Tamil film's title, Ivanuku Thannila Gandam? Cowlibob (talk) 21:52, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
- I think it's "He has a continent underwater". Kailash29792 (talk) 04:05, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks. I presume it's an idiom of some sort related to not drinking too much? Cowlibob (talk) 07:44, 20 March 2015 (UTC)
- Kailash, presuming you to be a Tamil, are you seriously kidding? @Cowlibob: you're almost there. It's an idiom kind of thing, which roughly translates to a condition where water being inauspicious for someone. In colloquial Tamil, thanni (water) also refers to liquor. So it could be either way. :) —Vensatry (ping) 20:08, 20 March 2015 (UTC)

Images from Behindwoods
A small query. Allu Arjun's image has been deleted on commons on the grounds of copy vio and now, i have two options of same method. One image is from Behindwoods and the same source in the past issued a declaration of consent for Karthi. The other is from Indiaglitz. Both will be used after cropping. My issue is, can i get the email ids of those websites to request permission for usage of the file. If it is successful, the image of N. T. Rama Rao Jr. can be uploaded. Please help me in this matter bu giving me their ids, the templates to request permission and the ones to declare consent (so that i can send them too for the perfect way of replying). Comment on this issue. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 03:14, 22 March 2015 (UTC)
- I don't get it; basically one Behindwoods image of Karthi is being used because they mailed permission, and they have not done the same for Allu Arjun? They should be contactable through their "contact" page. Kailash29792 (talk) 05:10, 22 March 2015 (UTC)
- Good, i require the "template for requesting permission/consent" to use the file here which i should fill and send to them so that they in turn fill the declaration template and send it to OTRS. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 09:30, 22 March 2015 (UTC)
Have Courage and be Kind....!
Did you see Cinderella (2015 film)? It's a mind blowing re-telling of the world's most popular fairy tale. It is by far the best re-telling Disney has served. Much better than Alice in Wonderland, OZ the Great and Powerful and Maleficent. Lily James, Cate Blanchett and Helena Bonham Carter are brilliant. I really loved it.—Prashant 15:24, 22 March 2015 (UTC)
- I intend to see it, but my parents may not approve of me watching a "children's film", even though its rating is PG. I do hope to see it secretly though. And Frozen Fever is attached to it I heard. Kailash29792 (talk) 15:28, 22 March 2015 (UTC)
- Yep! Frozen Fever is a really cute short. It's enough to boost it's merchandise sales. Both Anna and Elsa have new clothes, it is going to make a big dent in parent's account. Frozen 2 will only enlarge that dent. Haha....Jokes apart, it was beautiful. Cinderella was too good. I just hope Beauty and the Beast live-action film will be brilliant too. Because I love Emma Watson. I have heard The Little Mermaid is next.—Prashant 16:06, 22 March 2015 (UTC)

WP:INDICSCRIPT
WP:INDICSCRIPT says, in its entirety, "There is community consensus that the lead sentence of an article should not contain any regional or Indic language script. It is suggested that IPA be used for help with pronunciation. For details, refer to this RfC: Native languages in lead. The closure of the RfC was clarified here and here." It says nothing about Indic script in infoboxes. In fact, that's what the native_name and native_name_lang fields are for. --Geniac (talk) 10:43, 24 March 2015 (UTC)

National Awards
Today the National Awards have been announced and most of the winners are eligible ones except for a very few. I'm happy that Bobby Simha got an award for Jigarthanda, but am equally sad and frustrated that Manam got no awards. Your comment? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 13:19, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
- If a film wins no awards despite such acclaim, it will lose recognition and viewership. Kailash29792 (talk) 13:27, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
- And that happened for the last film of ANR which is really a very good film without the mention of that fact. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 13:51, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
- Telugu films hardly won any National Award over the past decade. Manam is no exception. :) —Vensatry (ping) 17:34, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
- Then, what about Eega and Chandamama Kathalu? I just cant understand one thing. When a film like Dabangg can win a National Award, then why Telugu films like Manam and Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu cant win? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 07:17, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- Exactly which category did Dabangg win in? Kailash29792 (talk) 07:32, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- I know that pretty well Kailash. At least, not in that or any other possible inferior category too? Pavanjandhyala (talk) 07:59, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Eega, as a film, would be more suitable for the "Best Popular Film" rather than any other category. Leaving aside the technical categories, in all possibility, Manam could've won the "Best Telugu Film" award. The jury might have chosen Chandamama Kathalu over Manam as they felt the former was more pleasing. I was shocked when I saw Varanam Aayiram winning a National Award. Naan Kadavul was easily the best choice. While Tamil films emerged as the biggest winner in South India, it was disappointing to see Kochadaiiyaan and I going out of the race. While I expected Kochadaiiyaan to win in this category, I must have been a sure contender for "Best Production Design" and "Best Makeup". As for the "Special Effects" category, it was a cakewalk for directors like Shankar and Rajamouli. Sadly, it could not win in that category also. I don't know if Mary Kom deserved the award. Bangalore Days, which created waves across South India, must have been given the award. —Vensatry (ping) 11:03, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- A special mention should be made about Drishyam too. And, Chandamama Kathalu is indeed too harsh and realistic - a general criteria found in National Award Winning Films. Though we rarely see a sad ending in the lives of those principal characters in Chandamama Kathalu, those few conclusions were too disturbing actually. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 12:14, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Well, Bangalore Days might have created waves but hardly anyone in other parts of India knows about it. Mary Kom was one of the most popular films last year along with Queen, PK and 2 States. Since, they decide in terms of mass appeal, they awarded Mary Kom. If you see, most sports based films went on to win in the Best Popular film category. Chak De, Lagaan, BMB are some other films. If popularity is concerned then, it is the right choice to award as it had message, inspiring themes. But, more than the film they should have awarded Chopra with A Special Jury Award as the best thing about the film was Chopra and she got nothing. Her Special award would have justified everything, her performance, the whole film, Mary Kom herself.—Prashant 14:42, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- Not all films–including Bollywood–will be popular and well-known across the country. It's a known fact that Bollywood films have a large market than all South Indian films put together, and hence their reach is much more. I don't know what's the yardstick the jury set for this category. Ustad Hotel, the directorial debut of Anjali Menon who made Bangalore Days, won the award in 2013. I'm sure nobody in North India would have known this film upon release. It was far less popular than Kahaani, Vishwaroopam, Eega, Gangs of Wasseypur and Talaash. Keeping this aside, Azhagarsamiyin Kuthirai, a relatively unknown film even inside Tamil Nadu, was chosen ahead of Dirty Picture, Ra.One and ZNMD. As for Mary Kom, I seriously don't think it created the kind of sensation that Chak De India, 3 Idiots or even Dabangg had when they were released. Enthiran losing out to Dabangg is another story! Coming to PC, she seemed to have put in a lot of hard work for the role. Her efforts would probably be second only to Vikram (for I) if we talk about the amount of physical efforts that one had put for a role. Though I'm not a fan of hers, she looked very promising in the trailer itself; I'm yet to watch the film. The theme too was good. may be some other factor would have costed her the award. —Vensatry (ping) 16:52, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- Oh! I loved Vikram's performance in I. I would have seen that film probably over 10 times. Maybe Vikram will get the Best Actor next year. But, I think unlike Academy, NFA is anti-disorder as they don't give awards a character with a disorder. Comig to Enthiran and Eega, I think these two films were snubbed for no reasons. Barfi! was another film which didn't even got a single mention at NFA. Again, Chopra was sidelined. Her performance was the level of Rani Mukerji in Black. The reason could have been less screen presence as she was there only for 45 minutes. They should have subbmitted her performance for Supporting category. Another film whichs which were snubbed are Udaan and Lootera. These are pure classic films. I really don't know much about south films. So. I don't know which are brilliant films. But, I have observed (from whatever I have seen) that they are more experimenting. I saw your post on Krimuk's about the Best Actor winner Vijay. I saw that video and thought he deserved every bit of that award. Nobody have courage in Bollywood to play an eunuch or say anyone from LGBT. Hats off to Vijay.—Prashant 10:49, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
- No, we've had many winners who played characters with disorders in the past. Sridevi's performance in Moondram Pirai (the Tamil original of Sadma) almost fetched her the award. Unlike the Academy Awards, National Awards are more inclined towards realistic performances. As for Barfi, the film was rejected at the Academy (India's submission), who stated that it had certain scenes copied from some of the old Hollywood movies. As for I, though it was released in 2015, must have been censored in 2014. Going by that logic, it would've competed already this time winning no award. Vikram surely would not have won the award for reasons already stated. I'm not sure if you know about Pithamagan, which fetched him the Best Actor award. It's available on YouTube but without subtitles. Watch his expressions at 47:54, and starting from 2:18:17. I'm sure not many actors would be able to give out such a performance, including Kamal Haasan, Om Puri, Naseeruddin Shah, etc., —Vensatry (ping) 17:38, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
It is sad if he has already missed it. And, I know he is a NFA Best Actor winner. Though I have not seen the film (saw what you said to see;it's fab), I want to watch it and soon will (when I have time). I have not seen Sadma either, But have heard only good things about it and Sridevi's performance. I feel sorry for a masterpeice like Khamoshi as it was not sent for the NFAs and it missed all the deserving awards. It would have won in almost all leading category including Best Actress for Koiraala (highly deserved), Best Supporting Actor for Patekar and Actress for Biswas alongwith the Best Hindi film. It's producer's mistake and not Jury. I also feel Urmila Matondkar was amazingly snubbed for her performance in Ek Haseena Thi and Bhoot and even Satya. If she did not had those dancing accomplishments then easily she would have been another successor to Shabana Azmi. She is that much talentd.—Prashant 19:11, 26 March 2015 (UTC)

Tabu
I was hoping that Tabu will win Best Supporting Actress, which did not happen. It looks like there is no justice left in the world. Kangana Ranaut was deserving. But, Chopra was the heart of Mary Kom. At least, they should have given her a Special Award. But, they did the opposite and awarded the film. But, It's funny because Chopra had refused Queen and was competing with the role, which she was about to do. It seems bad choices can ruin you. Chopra had done so many mistakes. I am happy for Kangana. Who knows they might swap categories, PC might win Best Supporting Actress for Bajirao Mastaani as this role is a killer one.—Prashant 14:19, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
- But now all the actresses mentioned here are already recipients of the NFA, regardless of which category. But what is most regretting is that Rajinikanth, despite being one of India's biggest stars, has never won any NFA. His performances in the 70's and 80's were completely worth it . Kailash29792 (talk) 14:24, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Prashant!: Kailash and Prashant, My aim now is to get Enthiran as a TFA on his birthday. Think of the sensation it would cause. It would be all over the news. — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 14:35, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
- Yes! I feel the same. Some deserving actors are still away from it. Like Rani Mukerji for Black, Manisha Koirala for Khamoshi, Urmila for Satya/Bhoot, Rajnikant for those 70s films. I don't know how to react to this. I thought it would be a complete surprise this year and Rani will grab it for Mardaani. But, to my dissapointment it didnt happen. I agree, getting Enthiran on TFA would be something. Keep up the good work.—Prashant 14:50, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
- @Ssven2: Not trying to demoralise but, how can you say "it would be all over the news" by creating "sensation"? It should aggressively promoted on social media which requires tremendous support and for that, it should be confirmed that Enthiran will be the TFA on Dec 12. And for Wikipedia's reputation for exceptional test editing makes matters much difficult to convince those who are completely alien to Wiki. Added to this, there will be fake screenshots of every websites posted by fans and anti fans. Ex: A post from some unknown page posts with a photo "At Amazon.com, people also purchased a ceiling fan, 12 feet stool and a noose along with the DVD of Ra.One". Anyways, i wish you all the best, considering the fact that you are giving your time, heart and soul for it. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 14:55, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
- Winning a National Award requires a strong script backed-up by deft direction. In most cases, it's not just because of the performance or an actor's popularity will bring them the award. It's the director who makes the actor win the award. In a film like Nayagan, it was mainly because of Mani, Kamal was able to win the award. Watch this from 7:15 to know about Kamal's take on winning National Awards. On the other hand, even legends like Dilip Kumar and Sivaji Ganesan did not win National Awards in their entire career. Does it make them any lesser than the actors who have won it? As for Rajini, I cannot imagine any other film except Mullum Malarum which could've fetched him the award. It's a pity that the producer did not send the film for any award ceremony. To me, that was more convincing than "Chappani" of 16 Vayathinile. His 80s films were mostly commercial, and I don't think even the films themselves would have won any award. Johnny (was not sent to any ceremony) and Enkeyo Ketta Kural were good content-wise but lacked the potential of winning an award. Coming to this year, I don't know if every other winner deserved for their performances or not, but surely this man looks more convincing. His efforts would've went in vain had the award went to Mammooty/Aamir/Shahid. Thankfully it did not happen. While seeing at the other winners, I think the jury–headed by our Mann Vaasanai–was both wise and impartial in choosing the winners. —Vensatry (ping) 17:16, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
- And your book on Tamil cinema (Dhananjayan's) has won a special mention. :) —Vensatry (ping) 17:32, 24 March 2015 (UTC)
- Correction: It is Pride that won, and not the first book, Best. Kailash29792 (talk) 07:34, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
- Obviously, a book which was published four years ago would't be eligible for this year's presentation. I thought yours is the recent one. —Vensatry (ping) 10:41, 25 March 2015 (UTC)
Bro, Danny's second book, Pride kedaichchutha? — Ssven2 Speak 2 me 05:04, 6 April 2015 (UTC)

Among IBT India and Oneindia Entertainment, which can be considered the most reliable source for adding the film's budget when the facts are contradicting? Also, when a film was made with a budget of 6 crores and promotions costed 3-4 crores, what should be the budget mentioned in the infobox? 6 cr or 10 cr? Please clarify! Pavanjandhyala (talk) 14:43, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
- I think IBT is more reliable. But you can add a footnote. Kailash29792 (talk) 14:45, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
- Stating what? That the film's budget lies between 40 - 50 cr in info box and in the note that IBT says 40 and OE says 50. Unwanted ambiguity. Better i replace OE with IBT now. And, please clarify the second case too. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 14:51, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
- I meant add a footnote stating the inconsistencies, like "He claims this [ref], but he claims this.[ref]". Kailash29792 (talk) 12:17, 6 April 2015 (UTC)
- Done as you suggested. Please have a look here for changes required if any about this issue. And please comment on that second issue too. That has been the source from OE about the budget of Drushyam which i'm planning to take to GA status soon after Missamma. Pavanjandhyala (talk) 05:42, 7 April 2015 (UTC)
Pirates
I wasn't aiming to be a dick or anything, it's just that working on superhero films, the secrecy levels are so high that we have to wait for an official statement from Marvel itself before we add. It's different for the other film studios as they don't do official announcements, all we receive is the news from Deadline and Variety, the two most reliable sites in terms of casting.
