Hi, while there may not be a source, I actually work as a sampling producer, you can A and B each of the two songs side by side and it's CLEAR one was pulled from the other. The source is each release of the two songs. The songs are the source. — Preceding unsignedcomment added by 76.175.169.95 (talk) 18:13, 5 January 2013 (UTC)

dear friend there was a discussion about the notability of the book. the whole discussion and the result is here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fundamental astronomy book. I mentioned the reasons why this book is notable. please edit the it the best way you think and write it back there! regardsGshahali (talk) 03:13, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
- Dear editor, I am not disputing the notability of the book, but the fact that wikipedia references it 162 times is not in itself notable (Wikipedia itself is NOT a reliable source) and smacks of a circular argument. I will tag the article for improvement, especially the citations. Thank you for taking the time to discuss this with me. Regards.Jschnur (talk) 03:22, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
Processing (programming language)
While I agree with the reversion of the specific text, I believe the attempted change by to the article does have a basis in fact (and I don't think it was a "test" at all!)
The "Processing language" (which I've been teaching for several semesters in our "Intro. to Programming" course) is not really a "language" at all; it actually uses pure Java statements, which are fed thru a pre-processor and linked to some libraries. Therefore, the addition made by the other editor (with whom I have no connection, whatever) was neither unjustified nor inaccurate (but stylistically wanting), and perhaps the issue should be addressed. Tripodics (talk) 16:30, 15 November 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Tripodics, Thank you for your interest in this and sorry for the delayed response. I am a programmer myself and I agree with the assertion that it is not a true language. Of course I reverted the IPs edit on the basis that it was styled as a comment better suited to the talk page. My edit summary should have reflected this and I will aim to be more precise in future. If you feel inclined please edit the article to reflect your thoughts as above. If you don't, I might have a go myself when I get a chance. Best regards Jschnur (talk) 00:25, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
- Hi, Jschnur. Thanks for your message. Go ahead and make the changes, if you wish. I depart in a few hours (flying from LI to CA, for a week in Silicon Valley), and then I'll be preparing and grading final exams, so I doubt I'll get around to it this year! Chapter 23 of Schiffman's book is a good reference; in it, he shows how Processing code gets some boilerplate wrapped around it (and also gets "public" inserted before every function), before being piped on to javac. Best regards.Tripodics (talk) 01:53, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

I am unsure why it is OK for a bar to place the following completely biased comment 'is now seen as the premier night spot' with no citation or evidence to state why this is the case (a blatant advert) but if it is changed to say 'is not seen as the premier night spot' based on my completely biased opinion, with no citation, causes you an issue? Odd. — Preceding unsigned comment added by78.145.52.142 (talk) 22:11, 21 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi, to validly contravene your accusation of impartiality I've now included a direct quote from BB which demonstrates he advocates political violence. It is important to flag people on Wikipedia who advocate violence, so I ask that you now respect and leave unaltered my bringing this fact to light. Best Wishes

Publishers Clearing House (PCH)
Don't understand reason for removal. PCH is known for mail orders, and the previous 5 paragraphs all highlight its acquisitions of social media sites. Clicking the link to any of the sites shows that PCH is pushing it's sweepstakes. Should I copy language from one of the websites and use that?Bilbobag (talk) 23:27, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
- Hi Bilbobag. On reflection I have partially reinstated your edit. My apologies. I left out the bit about the odds which seemed redundant and US centric. I hope that's OK. Best regards Jschnur (talk) 23:38, 29 November 2012 (UTC)
Thanks for explanation. Bilbobag (talk) 13:58, 30 November 2012 (UTC) I do think the comment about odds relative to US population is relevant. The sweepstakes mentioned is only open to US residents. Canada and UK have separate sweeps. I believe the odds comment should be re-instated, since it puts the odds into perspective that most people can understand.Bilbobag (talk) 14:04, 30 November 2012 (UTC) Disregard - I was mistaken, Sorry.Bilbobag (talk) 14:09, 30 November 2012 (UTC)

Hello, I saw that you reverted vandalism on article about Anton Kuivanen. There is still some incorrect info on that article and I didn't know exactly how to report it and decided to notice about them this way. If you could look into it and revert the article back to normal? Thanks! 130.234.207.176(talk) 18:28, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks for the note. I will look into it soon when I get the chance. Jschnur (talk) 23:46, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
- Dear 130.234.207.176 (talk), I am definitely not an expert in this area. I reverted what was obvious vandalism. If you can point out what info is still incorrect I will be happy to fix it. Otherwise feel free to fix it yourself. If you do, make sure you provide an edit summary explaining why you are changing the article. This will help to prevent your changes from being mistaken for vandalism. Best regards. Jschnur (talk) 00:01, 10 December 2012 (UTC)

Template:Essays on building Wikipedia
Hi.
I added the essay WP:NOW as it relates to a philosophy of constructing (editing) pages: the idea that the article will improve at some point in the future is not good enough if people are reading it now. I'm a little puzzled as to what error of fact has been made here? Risingrain (talk) 15:26, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

- ...are you going to ignore it? It's called cross-referencing; sorry if that's difficult for you.

- You and your socks have dealt a blow to 3RR already. Do you idolise Jimmy Savile to such an extent that you can't bear to see him criticised outside of one article? Bizarre.
- PS: On edit, this is from the sister article- 'It was said Savile obtained access to teenage girls through television programmes such as Top of the Pops'. Although not a source, it does (hopefully) demonstrate cross-referncing. Good luck to you!
You Can Walk Like A'Gyptian ;) (talk) 11:45, 17 December 2012 (UTC)

Race and Sport
Hi noticed you re added something I removed from (Race and Sport) that there is inqaulity for Aboriginals in Australian sport. This is untrue, there used be sometime ago but Aboriginals do not get rejected from playing sport in Australia based on their race. The Australian Football League has a (Indigenous Round) that celebrates indigenous Australian's, there is a high number of Aboriginals playing in the (Australian Football League) & the (National Rugby League) and other sports. There hasn't been inqaulity towards Aboriginals in sport in Australia for quite some time.
- I think you are probably right but it doesn't matter what we think (or know), what matters is that the content you removed was sourced and your assertion is not. Wikipedia depends on reliable secondary sources and not on what we believe to be true. Cheers. Jschnur (talk) 09:32, 25 December 2012 (UTC)

Herbythyme
Your message to the talkpage for my IP said if i have any questions, to leave them here. So my question is: why do you want to help an abusive sysop who blocks people without good cause? I had barely been on Meta, and was blocked for no good reason after making a userpage. Herbythyme is an example of the worst kind of abusive sysop, and i suspect he does this kind of thing to others. 174.141.213.14 (talk) 03:58, 7 February 2013 (UTC) I'm unable to review my actions in your case because your sock is unavailable to me. My pleasure Jschnur (talk) 05:23, 9 February 2013 (UTC)
My friend. I know you are eager, but please take a moment to review changes before you confirm them. Example here on huggle where the previous edit said "Kiana Jami one of the best actresses gets pregnant AND PUKES ON JAHLIYA" and you fixed "AND PUKES ON JAHLIYA." I would have hoped the line "Kiana Jami one of the best actresses gets pregnant," would give an editor pause and say "does this make sense" and would investigate. As such this crafty vandal buried this edit in a layer of other edits and as such this probably would not have been fixed until much later. Please be diligent and look for key signs that all is not well. Please do contact me with further questions or concerns. Otherwise keep up the hard work! Jab843 (talk) 05:24, 9 February 2013 (UTC)

Audiometrist article, undoing vandalism
Many thanks for undoing the vandalisim on this article. I have had to undo this again in the meantime. I would appreciate your support if this keeps happening. Since the user is anonymous he/she doesn't have a talk page and I have asked on the article talk page to discuss this further. My own edits on this have already reflected a more worldwide definition, as previous edits from other users either focused entirely on a U.S. or Australian definition, which omitted a UK definition. The English language is the basis for this article and as such the word "audiometrist" is derived from the word "audiometry", although the word audiometry has Latin roots. That is why I included the explanation for why an audiometrist is not the same as an audiologist. The article should focus on audiometry as being distinct from audiology, which becomes unclear from the vandal's deletions. The vandalism also does not include a single citation or internal link. There is no reason why the first paragraph should be deleted in its entirety as I have provided citations and internal links to support this definition. The other paragraphs can be edited or expanded on if the anonymous user has something more constructive to offer than simply vandalism. I appreciate your reversion, thanks. - Hi Jodon1971, I reverted the IP user's edits because they removed referenced material without sufficient explanation or justification. In addition, as you noted above, the removed text included the important distinction between "Audiology" and "Audiometry". That being said, his/her edits are probably not vandalism in the strict sense used here on wikipedia, more of a content dispute and as such we must be wary of engaging in "edit warring". Anyhow, I have that article on my watchlist and will keep an eye on it. Regards and happy editing. Jschnur (talk) 22:32, 18 February 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. There is currently an edit war going on. That user has again made more edits and I have reverted. I have also added that it is disputed on the article page, and I have discussed this at length now on the talk page. I await their response/action. In the meantime I would like you or someone to intervene or offer any suggestions that might help to resolve this. I have also suggested that the article page itself be deleted. Maybe you could give me your thoughts on that after reading the talk page. Thanks. Jodon1971 (talk) 01:15, 25 February 2013 (UTC)
- I have read your discussion on the talk page. I am against deleting the article which I think as it stands is quite good and well referenced. If the content dispute continues, however, there are other ways to resolve this issue, including a Request for Comment (see WP:RfC) to gain consensus on the article's content or perhaps list the dispute at WP:DR/N. Let's wait and see. Regards. Jschnur (talk) 06:01, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks. That User has reverted again, while responding (unsatisfactorily in my opinion) to my discussion. He/she will probably keep doing this ad infinitum, therefore I will not revert any more and will leave his/her edits in tact until a third Wikipedian opinion is brought in. I tried to explain to the user about the importance of making their material verifiable. You can see the difference between his/her edits and mine. I will have to read up on how to get a third opinion, but hopefully it will be resolved soon. Thanks again for your assistance. Jodon1971(talk) 19:21, 26 February 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the award! I wasn't expecting that! My first ever Wikipedia award - I think I'm getting goosepimples (Ha ha)! Jodon1971 (talk) 10:24, 1 March 2013 (UTC)

Sourcing General Wesley Clark's statement on attacking 7 countries in 5 years
Dear Jschnur, I would like to politely inform you that I properly sourced General Clark's statement. In HTML format, it's: [1] url=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ha1rEhovONU

Perhaps what you mean is that I did not use HTML correctly to reference General Clark's statement. I would appreciate it if you can ensure it is correctly written because the source itself is real and exists. FactChecker123 (talk) 02:59, 28 February 2013 (UTC) |
