Porro
Porro was indeed fortunate in having his portrait painted by Robert Lefèvre. As for Lhoyer, Caresana and Gragnani, no luck, I'm afraid. At least not at the Bibliothèque nationale de France (which is where Porro came from) where I also looked them up in various art magazines that mentioned their names. But all hope is not lost, as the BnF is constantly adding new images of musicians, and I'll keep an eye out for them :) — Mu (talk) 11:28, 31 August 2010 (UTC)

Sorry about that; I just found out I was wrong, but you already reverted my edit. In the future I'll stick to editing things I actually know something about. 78.23.228.141 (talk) 22:43, 15 February 2012 (UTC)
My Badge of Honour
You undid my additions to the Mountain Gorilla which clearly contributed to the page, Wikipedia, and the human species in its entirety. You are an anarchist and a communist. I sincerely hope you stub your big toe on your left foot tomorrow when you get out of bed. I would hope meaner things, but my just and kind heart is capable of no greater levels of hate than I have just described. Due to your rude behavior (which was completely uncalled for by the way) I will no longer contribute my vast intellectual knowledge to Wikipedia, depriving the world of knowledge that it deserves to have, and it is all thanks to you. I am obviously a far better man than you, and will waste no more of my time dealing with your pitiful existence. ;-)

Invitation to the Counter-Vandalism Unit Academy
CVUA
Hi there. Welcome to the Counter-vandalism Unit Academy. I volunteered to be your instructor. If you have any questions please contact me on Freenode or EsperNet (nickname is Krenair). If you're not familiar with IRC then you could email me at krenairgmail.com. I noticed in your enrolment request you mentioned you didn't know what other tools were available. I use Huggle and recommend you give it a go. To use it on the English Wikipedia you'll need rollback rights, but looking at your edits so far that should be easy to get. Is there anything particular you want to know about right now? --Krenair (talk • contribs) 19:11, 13 July 2012 (UTC)

Surely all the merit belongs to the painter, not to mention the engraver – but many thanks all the same for the barnstar! As it happens, I recently had another go at finding the other images you had requested, but again no luck. Next time perhaps – who knows? Mu (talk) 22:41, 14 July 2012 (UTC)
Your request for rollback
Hi Jschnur. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Calmer Waters 18:24, 17 July 2012 (UTC)
NOT COOL BRO
Hello, I am the editor of the DCUO page. I did not intend for that to be negative input. Both me, CAPTAlN AMER1CA, and lRON M4N, are both interested in helping players in game. Reverted change to Haikui page
I added the word ships because the original said "Port officials also called 30,000 back to shore".
My first thought was, "what: ships? sailors?".
I checked the original source article to make sure, and added the word "ships"
There. A thirty word explanation for a one word change.

cross-posted from Talk:Moira (portion)
The dab page Moira includes a link to Moira (fate) which redirects to Moirai and a link to Moira (portion) which redirected to Moirai. I think this defeated the purpose of the dab. I figure that droungos is the most common context for moira (portion) in English, so I switched the redirect.
Thanks for trying to keep up with the trashing. That wasn't my intention, but I can see why it could look like it. 71.191.228.51 (talk) 00:04, 9 August 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of User talk:Ningeba
A tag has been placed on User talk:Ningeba, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Re August 2012
Hello!
Thank you for your help.
Had been editing for the first time without knowing so.
Indeed I am sorry.
I think because it was too one-sided article of Korea, and you want to do something.
South Korea currently has carried out the invasion of Japan.
Started secretly cultural, demographic from 20 years ago, to 10 days of this month has been illegally occupied to dispatch ("DOKUTO" amphibious) warship to Takeshima and finally president.
Do you hair will also see article in Japan?
It would be greatly appreciated if it could help us create a fair article.

Hi, please pay more attention to what you're reverting. I know Huggle makes it very easy to revert with minimal effort, but you are responsible for edits you make with it. In the case of Victoria Police, yes the editor was removing a large amount of content without an edit summary, but the content was mostly unsourced, was written in an extremely negative tone, and was arguably even libellous. If you encounter a situation like that in the future, please read the content and see if there might be a legitimate reason to remove it. Knee-jerk reverts in cases like this can cause a lot more work down the line. Thanks, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 05:48, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- Hi HJ, Point taken about this user reverting negative POV material, however, the main problem I had with this user was the 'inappropriate username' that implied a shared login and what I saw as WP:COI issues. I reported this user not for vandalism but at Wikipedia:Usernames for administrator attention. Please excuse my hasty revert. I try hard not have knee-jerk responses but I do make mistakes. I will be more careful in future. Thanks for bringing this to my attention Jschnur (talk) 06:12, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
- There are problems with the edit, and with the editor, but there were also serious problems with the content they were removing, and it's always better to look at the cause of the problem than to just address the symptom. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 07:13, 17 August 2012 (UTC)

Paul Gray
On the wiki page for "Paul Gray (American musician)", it states that "In his youth, Gray performed in bands such as Nuclear Blast, Vexx, Body Pit, and Inveigh Catharsis". There is no evidence what-so-ever that he played in a band called "Nuclear Blast". "Nuclear Blast" is the name of a major independent heavy metal record label and distribution company, not a band. The band that he actually played in was called "Anal Blast" [1]. I made this change and it was removed. Why? Maybe you felt it was obscene, but the facts are the facts, Paul Gray did not play for "Nuclear Blast", he played for "Anal Blast". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.128.175.175 (talk) 11:30, 20 August 2012 (UTC)
- Dear editor, I did revert your edit on the basis that I thought it likely to be vandalism. You are welcome to reinstate that edit as long as it is founded on a reliable source (see WP:RS) and that it is notable (see Wikipedia:Notability). Please take the time to read these links. When adding such facts make sure you include a citation. This will help your edits stick. For how to write citations, see Citing sources. Thanks for taking the time to discuss this with me. MHS
A few days ago I saw the BBC report about Jack Andraka and tried to find out more. Being annoyed by the quality of his article, I improved it, and today fixed some style problems. Due to typography problems at SFS, the Wiki article is now more useful than his original Science Fair abstract.
You were kind enough to apologize for mistaking my “preliminary” edits.
At the same time as I was looking up Jack, I read some Philadelphia Inquirer articles about the Milton Hershey School. Finding a similar lack of useful information, I tried to add info from recent press coverage, but did too much- since the subject was “sex” (school said they couldn’t trust HIV-kid not to have sex, and routine teacher sex), the article was flagged and the people responding said such coverage had “undue weight”. I basically agree, that the rest of the article should have had four times as much to begin with. But those people also thought, apparently, that the entire subject was off-limits for a “hallowed institution”. A Noticeboard was opened at Wikipedia:Neutral_point_of_view/Noticeboard#Milton_Hershey_School. I don’t know how long such things are supposed to take, but there doesn’t seem to be much notice of it, or answer to my questions. Hard to say how long I will remember to look.
I saw your “Barnstar” rating and thought you could fix the matter. If the long section of press criticism is too much for the original article, why not create a new one, which you could do? I had suggested “Controversies at Milton Hershey School” but perhaps better would be “Press coverage of Milton Hershey School” as there are many more lengthy Inquirer and WSJ articles which would add information. If someone expands the original article then they might merge it back. What do you think?68.238.249.142 (talk) 08:22, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
- Dear editor, Thank you for your confidence in me. I apologise for not responding earlier but real world commitments have intervened.
- You appear to be a thoughtful contributor and so I highly recommend creating a user account which has many benefits not least of which is the ability to edit from multiple locations (ie different IPs) and yet maintain a coherent editing history. As far as the Milton Hershey School issue that you raise, what you see is Wikipedia in action in all its (albeit imperfect) glory. In the end, eventually, in the fullness of time, etc an article of quality may evolve as long as there are editors acting in good faith who adhere to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. I encourage you to be one of those and add your 2 cents to discussions and help resolve contentious issues. I myself am somewhat time challenged at the moment and so wont be participating in that one. Regards. Jschnur (talk) 23:44, 27 August 2012 (UTC)
