Speedy deletion nomination of Category:2021 in Republic of Ireland association football leagues
[edit]A tag has been placed on Category:2021 in Republic of Ireland association football leagues requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. New page reviewer granted
[edit]Hi Joseywales1961. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:
- Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
- If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
- Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. ~Swarm~ {sting} 01:26, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
- Swarm, Thank you JW 1961 Talk 11:33, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
Provide your reasoning as to why my article should be speedily deleted?
[edit]There is no reason for you to get my article deleted, as some other articles such as No Nut November exist, and the article I made is essentially factually correct, and only lacks sources. A quick google search will lead you to find multiple sources to back up my claim, so I'm intrigued to know as to why you want my article to be deleted. /Twistedaxe 10.44 PM UTC
- Twistedaxe Per CSD notice, articles are judged on their own merits not on whether similar articles exist, this article isn't reliably sourced as it stands and as such doesn't prove notability. You may contest the deletion request as explained on the notice and an admin will decide it's fate. As the creator it would be good practice to add sources when creating to avoid future deletion tagging. Happy editing JW 1961 Talk 22:50, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
- Joseywales1961 So in going by that logic, remaking the article with reliable sources will automatically make it good quality? User:Twistedaxe 22:54 UTC, 22 November 2020 (UTC)
- Twistedaxe, No article is automatically good quality and as you see around the site there are many doubtful articles. Reliable sources help prove the notability of the subject see WP:RS and WP:Notability and with those added it could survive an AfD or other deletion process. Hope that helps. Best wishes JW 1961 Talk 23:01, 22 November 2020 (UTC)

Thanks JW for diligently reading through all submissions on WP:ITNRD and providing your notes. New Page Patrol December Newsletter
[edit]Hello Joseywales1961,
- Year in review
It has been a productive year for New Page Patrol as we've roughly cut the size of the New Page Patrol queue in half this year. We have been fortunate to have a lot of great work done by Rosguill who was the reviewer of the most pages and redirects this past year. Thanks and credit go to JTtheOG and Onel5969 who join Rosguill in repeating in the top 10 from last year. Thanks to John B123, Hughesdarren, and Mccapra who all got the NPR permission this year and joined the top 10. Also new to the top ten is DannyS712 bot III, programmed by DannyS712 which has helped to dramatically reduce the number of redirects that have needed human patrolling by patrolling certain types of redirects (e.g. for differences in accents) and by also patrolling editors who are on on the redirect whitelist.
Rank | Username | Num reviews | Log |
---|---|---|---|
1 | DannyS712 bot III (talk) | 67,552 | Patrol Page Curation |

3 | John B123 (talk) | 21,697 | Patrol Page Curation |
4 | Onel5969 (talk) | 19,879 | Patrol Page Curation |
5 | JTtheOG (talk) | 12,901 | Patrol Page Curation |

9 | Hughesdarren (talk) | 4,520 | Patrol Page Curation |
10 | Utopes (talk) | 3,958 | Patrol Page Curation |
- Reviewer of the Year
John B123 has been named reviewer of the year for 2020. John has held the permission for just over 6 months and in that time has helped cut into the queue by reviewing more than 18,000 articles. His talk page shows his efforts to communicate with users, upholding NPP's goal of nurturing new users and quality over quantity.
- NPP Technical Achievement Award
As a special recognition and thank you DannyS712 has been awarded the first NPP Technical Achievement Award. His work programming the bot has helped us patrol redirects tremendously - more than 60,000 redirects this past year. This has been a large contribution to New Page Patrol and definitely is worthy of recognition.

Re:December 2020
[edit]What was your reason for reverting my edit to 2020 in arthropod paleontology? The message you left on my talk page did not clarify what was unconstructive about my edit. Regards.--188.147.51.115 (talk) 21:36, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, In the edit immediately before the revert you blanked a lot of information without explaining why, you can remove it again but please use an edit summary to explain why or it will pop up on the anti-vandalism programs like Huggle again JW 1961 Talk 21:42, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
- Just to explain further, as I see you are relatively new to contributing once a revert is done it will roll back any consecutive edits by the user not just the last one. As I see you are updating a few of these type of article you might want to also read Help:Edit summary so that revievers know what you are doing. Thanks for your contributions. JW 1961 Talk 21:50, 10 December 2020 (UTC)
- I noticed that you both provided further explanation and reverted the article back to the earlier version while I was writing a reply, so I have no further questions. Thank you for your help and patience.--188.147.51.115 (talk) 21:59, 10 December 2020 (UTC)

- Modussiccandi, Hi, I'm not sure I'll ask and admin if I can see a recent one online - what happened was I tagged it afd with page curation but it never showed up on afd and it was re-linked on the article page so I removed the tag and re-submitted it via twinkle at the same time as you aslso reviewed and tagged JW 1961 Talk 22:56, 15 December 2020 (UTC)

- Kinkel Loukaitis Brazill, Hi, as you are new to editing this process should go through articles for creation see WP:AFC (I'm not an AFC reviewer) so I added the template to the top of the draft page, the creator should hit "submit for review" when they think the article is ready for review (It look quite good to me on a quick look through) Happy editing and have a safe and happy Christmas (if you celebrate that holiday) JW 1961 Talk 00:27, 25 December 2020 (UTC)
