Battle of Dograi
Hi John B123, I have added the links as suggested, on the following pages: Indo-Pakistani War of 1965, Desmond Hayde, Asaram Tyagi. Could you please review? Thanks and cheers!Georgethedragonslayer (talk) 06:38, 31 August 2020 (UTC)

Diponegoro-class
Hi John, you might noticed that i'm not used to the advanced stuffs here in Wikipedia. I just wondering, is it possible to move the 'Diponegoro-class' page to 'Diponegoro-class corvette' page? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diponegoro-class to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diponegoro-class_corvette The Diponegoro-class corvette page have a redirect on it. --EvoSwatch (talk) 16:01, 31 August 2020 (UTC)
- Hi EvoSwatch I don't have the necessary permissions to do that. As it is an uncontroversial move, if you post the request at WP:RM#TR the chances are someone will action the request. Regards. --John B123 (talk) 16:09, 31 August 2020 (UTC)

NotForgotten Digital Preservation Library
Dear John
Thanks for reviewing my new page about the NotForgotten Digital Preservation Library - I appreciate your review and the changes.
On the topic of advertising... I have tried (but I’m probably blinded by my own writing) to find and then strip out anything that appears to be viewed as advertising - I have made some efforts this morning to improve it. I have reviewed the guidelines, but still I may be blind. Is there any chance you can identify any areas I need to further improve in this regard? The library aims to have an educational page.
Kindest regards, and thanks for your efforts Liebena (talk) 19:11, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Liebena. I've made a few minor changes such as removing the numerous inline external links to the organisation's website. (If this is for SEO reasons, then whoever gave you that advice is about 10 years behind the times). The use of words such as "mission" normally occur in press releases not encyclopedic articles, the same applies to the section "The role of the Not Forgotten Library". The adding of __INDEX__ twice to the article further makes me think this article was created for promotion, and again, whoever thought this would help with Google is behind the times. --John B123 (talk) 20:36, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
John thanks very much! The library is grateful. Yes - bad advice was taken on board ... Again .. your work is appreciated! Liebena (talk) 21:42, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
Dear John we have implemented your suggestions now - no reference to mission or role and tidied some of the words up to steer clear of any advertising tone. Please let us know if there is more we need to wrestle with. kindest Liebena (talk) 22:44, 1 September 2020 (UTC)

Dear John - would you be ok for me to request a review from an editor on my talk page to remove the advertising note on the maintenance template? kindest Liebena (talk)
- Hi Liebena. I can't see the harm in that, but I'm not sure that many people would see it? --John B123 (talk) 17:21, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
Dear John - Forgive me I am clueless - how do I get the notification to be reviewed and removed if its deemed I have made acceptable changes? Sorry for being dumb here.I read the guidance and it says that only non vested parties should edit it away.
- Hi Liebena. I'm not sure there is a defined process as such. You could try asking Þjarkur, who made a few edits on the article previously, to have a look. (I would rather somebody else reviewed it as I have made a few changes in order to improve the article) Regards --John B123 (talk) 21:04, 2 September 2020 (UTC)

Hi,
What does it bother you at City of Oradea Stadium? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Rostadia2012 (talk • contribs) 23:29, 1 September 2020 (UTC)
- I don't see how a proposal has notability, especially as the feasability study has not been completed so it may never be built. --John B123 (talk) 06:10, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- Mate, you don't see but I can find the same stadiums from England being actually proposed with no notability tag. It's called discrimination! And this stadium will be built because it's plan of a complex with an already arena under construction. They even had the visit of the prime-minister, just saying. Plus they even clear the ground these days. I only open pages to viable projects and if it ever happens not to be built, which has not happened to me so far, I will personally delete those articles. This category exists https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Proposed_stadiums. Rostadia2012 (talk • contribs) 13:19, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Rostadia2012: I object strongly to being accused of discrimination. See WP:PERSONAL --John B123 (talk) 15:43, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- I apologise if I have offended you, if you feel this way. I said it about the action, by comparison that is resulting discrimination. UK proposed stadiums vs Romania proposed stadiums, world vs Romania and so on. Feel free to read (please) the category, to see I am right! The proposed stadiums/arenas are also notable. I've had a look at Category:Proposed stadiums and its sub-categories and would note:
- Looking at UK articles (a random selection), generally they are far longer and have many more references. Those references are often from mainstream sources rather than specialist sports sources.
- Looking at the rest of the world, again they tend to be longer and have more sources.
- Some of the "Rest of World" articles don't have more sources, but are old articles (1 I looked at was started in 2009). 10 years ago the notability guidelines were less well defined compared to today.
I don't see any discrimination against Romania. What I do see is minimal articles being compared to articles that previous editors have taken the time to show notability. The prime-minister visiting and the ground being cleared is not in City of Oradea Stadium, those sort things help to establish notability. You cannot simply put down the minimum and say it's notable and then compare that with articles where editors have made the effort to show why the proposed stadiums are notable. --John B123 (talk) 19:57, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
Removal of 9Rush entry
I have no idea why you are in favour of removal of information from Wikipedia. The 9 Network has multiple channels. All of them have (had) Wikipedia pages. Now someone has replaced the 9Rush page with a redirect to the main 9 Network page. This is totally inconsistent and reduces the usability of this site! The redirect loses all the information on the page. The editors creating the redirect have not moved the information about 9Rush to the 9 Network page. They have not removed or annotated the existing links to 9Rush on the other channels. All they have done is created an inconsistent mess. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kremmen (talk • contribs) 03:51, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Kremmen: You miss the point. When two editors disagree it should be discussed on the talk page, you should not keep returning the page back to what you think it should be, See WP:BRD. --John B123 (talk) 06:15, 2 September 2020 (UTC)
- @John B123: The editor who put time and effort into creating the page (which is now wasted) and the one who vandalised the site by removing it makes two editors in disagreement. The vandal didn't write anything on the talk page. Why don't you apply your "point" to the original problem? By your own standard, this should have been discussed on the talk page. Kremmen (talk) 09:48, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
- @John B123: There are 31 FTA channels available where I live. Wikipedia has separate pages for 30. It is missing "Openshop", which carries no actual programming, just shopping. It is now missing 9Rush. (You would think that would make 29, but there is an entry for 10Shake, which is not even in operation yet!) Removing the page of one channel out of 30 is just inconsistent and you and the others wrecking wikipedia should just admit it and put it back the way it was. Kremmen (talk) 14:16, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Kremmen: As you have now taken this to wikimedia.org.au I suggest you let them deal with it. --John B123 (talk) 14:25, 11 September 2020 (UTC)
Thanks for taking an interest in the above title. The hatnote I left indicated that it should be open for editing by anybody for several days, which is more than two or three, I am sure you would agree. Sorry I haven't got to it, 'cause I've been pretty busy doing other Wikipedia stuff. I've restored the text and will get to its expansion as soon as possible: I've already done most of the research. Hi. Could you take a look at Angel of Victory (Valdepeñas) to find out if the "copy edit" issues have been already solved and thus remove the template? The article has been continuously edited by new accounts (including blocked socks, I don't know why!!!) and while some of the changes could be indeed an improvement, a number of them (including code botching, wrongly removing diacritics in Spanish words, changing "metres" to "meters" alleging "incorrect spelling" et al.) do not seem improvements at all. Regards.--Asqueladd (talk) 04:50, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hi Asqueladd, it looks fine now so I've removed the tag. Regards --John B123 (talk) 15:26, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
Felix Dothan
Dear John B123, as an admin in the Hebrew Wikipedia, I am quite capable of judging if the article is well established. It was translated from Hebrew (it exists also on the German Wikipedia). Most sources are in Hebrew, but he is mentioned also in the article about the Talpiot program, so I really do not understand where you found a problem. Please elaborate. --Yoavd (talk) 16:13, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoavd: As I posted on your talk page Felix Dothan, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. I would have thought as an administrator you would be familiar with the concept of verifiability and citations. See WP:REFSTART (I would note that both the Hebrew and German versions of the article do have references).
- It surprises me that a Wikipedia administrator seems to have no concept of the WMF requirements for attribution when translating from other language Wikipedias. see WP:HOWTRANS --John B123 (talk) 16:35, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hello , please check again if there are enough citations, I added 9. The norms are probably different, as for us External links are as good as citations. --Yoavd (talk) 05:31, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- Although there are now 9 references, 5 are for one statement, 2 are for another and one is for an external link, leaving the bulk of the article unreferenced. Please read WP:REFSTART. --John B123 (talk) 07:21, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- The 5 references are for each of his books. He is well documented in the External links - do you want me to copy them as references in the "bulk of the article " - I am really sorry but this is new to me, as I am used to the Hebrew rules. By the way - I created more than 600 articles and edited about 140K as of 1.8. --Yoavd (talk) 07:34, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- External links are for further information, not references. Content must be verifiable by inline citations. As a minimum there should be a reference at the end of each paragraph, providing all the content in that paragraph can be verified from that source. If they can't, then individual parts of the paragraph need referencing separately. --John B123 (talk) 15:30, 4 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hello, now there are 15 references that I added covering every one of the stages in his life. Interesting stuff! By the way, my maternal language is Croatian, but for the last 50 years, I did not read a text in that language so it was a nice surprise to find texts about him written in Croatia (he was born in Zagreb, and probably someone thought that he should be added to important Croatian people site). I hope that now the article is written according to the standards of the English Wikipedia. --Yoavd (talk) 06:04, 6 September 2020 (UTC)
List of Kenyan School Articles
Hello, I am re-organising the article List of schools in Kenya, that may involve re-organisation into new articles. I would be happy if you can help expand the articles--waweruboyWaweruboy (talk) 18:42, 3 September 2020 (UTC)
@Waweruboy: Please stop creating unreferenced articles. All content in Wikipedia must be verifiable, which is demonstrated in inline reference. see Help:Referencing for beginners. Speedy deletion nomination of Kirk McCullough
Hello John, I am still updating this page. have added 6 new cited sources and am still refining this page. One of those sources includes a court case with the Arkansas supreme court involving Kirk McCullough and other parties. I hope this justifies the notability of the subject and why I am providing this information to wiki. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Just4kids (talk • contribs) 15:43, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
Hi Just4kids The work you've done is certainly an improvement but it's not quite there yet. I've removed the speedy deletion tag to prevent it being deleted in the mean time. The section "Cut-Down Call" is empty. This section might help with the notability as "the man who invented a better duck call". Regards --John B123 (talk) 16:32, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

Luke17879 (talk) 18:50, 9 September 2020 (UTC)luke17879
- Hi Luke17879. I assume he wants a page about himself on Wikipedia? If so notability needs to be established. see WP:BASIC, WP:ANYBIO and WP:COMPOSER. Whether you or I think he's notable is irrelevant, it needs to be established from reliable sources. Regards --John B123 (talk) 19:02, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
Autopatrol?
Hi John B123 — can I ask for your advice, please? I've noticed that you've kindly reviewed a few of my recent article creations (at least Muurame church, Tampere Central Library, Lahti Ski Museum, Watlington Park and Peter Hagerstein), and I thank you for that. :) Based on your experience, do you think I might have a chance in applying for the autopatrolled status? I realise I've not yet created the 25 or so articles mentioned in WP:AUTOPAT, but I feel like I've got a handle on how to create articles, and also how to spot issues in other editors' new articles, therefore I'd like to think I'm ready to move up to the next level. Any thoughts much appreciated, thanks in advance! Cheers, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 20:43, 9 September 2020 (UTC)
- Hi DoubleGrazing. I've had a look at the articles you've created and there is nothing fundamentally wrong with them. Ristinkirkko, Lahti needs some more citations. Generally, every paragraph need to be referenced. It may well be that the existing references include the information in the paragraphs that are unreferenced, but if this is the case, this needs to be added as a reference to the paragraphs. You may want to have a look at the notability guidelines. Primary schools, such as Watlington Primary School are generally not considered notable by default. I notice Olio (app) has also been tagged for notability. Whilst the 25 articles suggested at WP:AUTOPAT is not written in stone, because you have not reached that figure the articles you have created will be scrutinised and the above may well go against you. Whilst you are well on your way to being eligible, I would suggest creating a few more articles before you apply. Regards --John B123 (talk) 21:16, 9 September 2020 (UTC)

I'm just a little confused as to why I'm not allowed to redirect non-notable and literally unsourced pages like Helen Sinclair (and it is considered "disruptive") but Liv Chenka could be removed? The same reasoning should apply to them all: "Mostly unsourced & notability not established". If you'd like I could redo the redirects with that explanation attached to all of them if the lack of explanation was the issue. Flabshoe1 (talk) 02:03, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
- @Flabshoe1: Various editors have tried to explain the problems with the article Liv Chenka. You are sailing very close to the wind with your edit warring and attitude of "if I can't have the Liv Chenka as a full article then no other characters can be either". It would be far more constructive for you to put your efforts into improving Liv Chenka. --John B123 (talk) 08:51, 10 September 2020 (UTC)
