[edit]Hey, I saw you G5'ed List of awards and nominations received by Rakul Preet Singh and then an edit conflict on my AfD nomination resulted in me overwriting your CSD tag with twinkle. I thought I'd let you know that you're welcome to add anything at the AfD here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of awards and nominations received by Rakul Preet Singh but if you wanted to throw the tag back on the page, I'm not opposed to that either.

Invitation
[edit]- Hello Jeraxmoira, we need experienced volunteers.
- New Page Patrol is currently struggling to keep up with the influx of new articles. We could use a few extra hands on deck if you think you can help.
- Reviewing/patrolling a page doesn't take much time but it requires a good understanding of Wikipedia policies and guidelines; Wikipedia needs experienced users to perform this task and there are precious few with the appropriate skills. Even a couple reviews a day can make a huge difference.
- Kindly read the tutorial before making your decision (if it looks daunting, don't worry, it basically boils down to checking CSD, notability, and title). If this looks like something that you can do, please consider joining us.
- If you would like to join the project and help out, please see the granting conditions. You can apply for the user-right HERE.
- If you have questions, please feel free to drop a message at the reviewer's discussion board.
- Cheers, and hope to see you around.

New page reviewer granted
[edit]Hi Jeraxmoira. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group. Please check back at the permissions page in case your user right is time-limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page or ask via the NPP Discord. In addition, please remember:
- Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them ā even if they are not.
- If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it ā just leave it for another reviewer.
- Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page, including checking for copyright violations using Earwig's copyright violation detector, checking for duplicate articles, and evaluating sources (both in the article, and if needed, via a Google search) for compliance with the general notability guideline.
- Please review some of our flowcharts (1, 2) to help ensure you don't forget any steps.
- Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. If you can read any languages other than English, please add yourself to the list of new page reviewers with language proficiencies. signed, Rosguill talk 04:09, 19 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hello, Jeraxmoira,
- I'm pinging Rosguill because I'm concerned that you have this user right. You just took a stub article, blanked the page and tagged it as a CSD G7, which it was not, was a completely inappropriate tagging. I don't think you fully understand the criteria for speedy deletion. Liz Read! Talk! 05:39, 20 December 2023 (UTC)
- And in the discussion below this one, I see another admin removed a tag you placed on an article. Liz Read! Talk! 05:41, 20 December 2023 (UTC)
- Not exactly sure if this is about Blossom Maduafokwa. The revdel was completed by an admin on this. Jeraxmoira (talk) 06:08, 20 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hey Liz. The stub article created by the same editor was already declined at Draft:Chandler Redmond 3 days back and it only has a single database entry. I couldn't move it since it already exists as a draft, and I didn't want to leave a redirect, so I chose to G7 it. I opted for a G7 deletion because when I moved Mark Maasen previously, it was deleted under G7. Could you please let me know which criteria accurately applies here? Jeraxmoira (talk) 06:05, 20 December 2023 (UTC)
- G7 is not appropriate here, that's for self-requested deletion of an article you created. It also arguably wasn't appropriate for the move cleanup of Mark Maasen--G6 would have been more appropriate here. In the case of Chandler Redmond, unless you specifically suspect undisclosed COI/UPE editing, you should not insist that an editor (even a new editor) use AfC and should instead proceed to AfD if the subject does not meet notability guidelines. signed, Rosguill talk 15:03, 20 December 2023 (UTC)

I need advice
[edit]hi, I am reaching out because I have been practicing (as you know by now I guess) in an area where I am interested, which is film producers, Canadian ones and those who work between the states and Canada.
Can I ask for some advice on my Jeff Sackman page that I started last weekĀ ? I have priced my information from many articles that I referenced and used your advice to keep it neutral by deleting certain things.
Is there anyway you have time to review it for me and critique it? After removing what you suggested and rewording, there's a tag on there for "advert" and that is not my intention.
Before I start working on a new one, I want to get this right.
Thank you, happy new year. Any help would he appreciated.
Colinwhite613 (talk) 21:04, 30 December 2023 (UTC)
- Hey Colinwhite613. I would need some time to look at it again. For more information about articles reading like an advert, please see WP:SOAPBOX. Jeraxmoira (talk) 04:29, 31 December 2023 (UTC)
- i went through it and realized some angles of writing could easily look that way. I made changes. One was I wrote that subject when he was president of a co.psny grew the income exponentially... That was probably a mistake. I remove for. Rephrased it. I found another part too when I mention movies he was "known for" and realized they are just movies on his list of credits. Nothing more. Just facts.
- I read several articles after I had messaged you to make sure things were more neutral and went over it again. So hopefully someone will review it again Colinwhite613 (talk) 04:47, 31 December 2023 (UTC)

āĀ SJĀ + 05:08, 27 January 2024 (UTC)TamilNet
[edit]Regarding your removal of TamilNet citations from my article submission: TamilNet has been deemed a qualified source by admins here, and is allowed to be and has been used on Wikipedia, provided explicit attribution is given for controversial claims. However, the articles I cited are only quoting public statements reported elsewhere, and are not opinion pieces. --- Petextrodon (talk) 18:54, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- Petextrodon: Thank you for linking Wikipedia:WikiProject Sri Lanka Reconciliation/Sources. It clearly states that it should be used with attribution, but I don't see any attribution in the article. Are you going to add it now? Jeraxmoiraš (talk) 19:39, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- I will try to find better sources, but as you can see from the archived links Iāve used elsewhere in the article, many old articles have since become dead links and may not be publicly accessible via web search engines, though that doesnāt mean TamilNet was just making up stuffs when they were openly attributing statements to public figures. Other news sites have cited one of the quotes from TamilNet I used: https://www.oneindia.com/2006/04/15/slanka-army-says-foils-attack-violence-simmers-1145084856.html
- I don't mind adding "according to pro-rebel TamilNet" before every sentence citing it, but I thought that would kill the flow of the article and would be unnecessary given that the quotes are already attributed to individuals/groups. --- Petextrodon (talk) 19:45, 17 February 2024 (UTC)
- I've now added the explicit attributions. I'd appreciate it if you could also review my article for approval. Thanks, --- Petextrodon (talk) 20:08, 17 February 2024 (UTC)

I realize that you are also an AFC reviewer and choose which draft articles to review but there is an unofficial guideline for page patrollers that states newly created articles shouldn't be tagged for deletion until at least an hour after a content creator has stopped editing unless there is egregious content like a copyright violation or BLP-violating content. I'm not sure how many articles you have created, but I'm sure you can empathize, especially with brand new editors who are just learning how to edit. If you have just offered a review of their draft, you might consider allowing them time to respond to your review of what they have written. Again, if there is unacceptable content, it should be tagged immediately. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 05:19, 1 March 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Liz. Thank you for letting me know. I thought we had to wait 10 minutes before placing CSD A tags on new articles from this NPP flowchart and the 60-minute guideline for WP:DRAFTIFY. Is this related to Lawrence Puliyanath or just in general? I believe it had 98% copyvio on Earwigs and I saw multiple warnings on their talk page, so I tagged it. I will try to be more considerate and assume good faith going forward. Cheers Jeraxmoiraš (talk) 06:03, 1 March 2024 (UTC)

Thotakura Gopichand
[edit]Hi Jeraxmoira, Thanks for reviewing the article Thotakura Gopichand. I felt that it passes notability test as all mainstream newspapers and mediaoutlets in India have written about him and two of them had full interviews. All are reliable, secondary sources and I took about 10 reliable citations, though about 20 articles existed both in English and Telugu, all reputed newspapers. I am not sure, how you rated it. Anyway, I am writing this in good faith. thanksk and regards, Davidindia (talk) 13:18, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Davidindia. Yes, but all of the sources were from April 2024 and related to a single event. I mentioned the reason for draftifying on your talk page as WP:BLP1E, but you must have missed it as it would have looked like a regular move notice. Here is a recent deletion discussion about the four astronaut candidates chosen for the Indian Human Spaceflight Programme, though the consensus on this has not weight here. If you have sources from other time periods pertaining to other events, please feel free to move it mainspace after adding them. I just got my visual/source editor fixed through the Teahouse IRC, so I couldn't leave you a personal note earlier regarding this. Cheers Jeraxmoiraš (talk) 13:39, 14 April 2024 (UTC)
- No Worries. Yes missed it and I got the point. thanks a lot and will let it be in the draft space until more news appears. Thanks for the clarification. Best Regards, Davidindia (talk) 13:44, 14 April 2024 (UTC)

Question regarding Draft:Takhteshwar_Temple
[edit]Could you expand on why you draftified Draft:Takhteshwar_Temple? There appear to be multiple sources[1][2][3] (based on a quick WP:BEFORE search) that push it over the brink of notability. Am I missing something here? Sohom (talk) 15:38, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Sohom Datta, please see Wikipedia:Drafts#During_new_page_review. There's no point in having an article with tour/travel company listings that are not WP:RS. Almost none of the information was verifiable in reliable sources that were cited in the article, making it unfit for the mainspace. WP:BEFORE is only for AfDs. Jeraxmoiraš (talk) 16:11, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
- I do see your point here, but I'd personally say travel guide listings are in fact RS for a place that is primarily known for it's tourism. Also, while you do point out that the policies as currently written do not explicitly ask you to perform a BEFORE search, I do think performing a BEFORE search before taking a content action that could potentially result in a article being deleted is a good idea in general. Sohom (talk) 04:09, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- Travel/ tour company listings are not reliable for information on architecture, significance or the origins of a location/ temple's name. They can be used for uncontroversial claims, i.e. location, coordinates etc,. SEO optimized travel websites that copy content to rank high on Google are not reliable sources.
- In this case, a before search was not needed as I did not nominate it for deletion. I'm sorry, but it is not the responsibility of NPRs to find sources while patrolling new articles, as this would take up a lot of time for what I believe is an unimportant/ low-interest topic. Regarding your deletion concern, the article was moved to the draftspace. Even if it hadn't been, any editor who nominates the article will have to do their own before search. If the subject is indeed notable, it will not be nominated. Jeraxmoiraš (talk) 05:51, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- I hadn't looked at the history, I had assumed you were talking about my book sources. I'd agree that the sources you removed were unreliable.
- However,
I'm sorry, but it is not the responsibility of NPRs to find sources while patrolling new articles, as this would take up a lot of time for what I believe is an unimportant/ low-interest topic.
is an absurd claim to make. The whole point of NPR is to make judgement calls on the notability of subject which inherently require a BEFORE check. Also, you do realize that draft deletions are automatic right, if the draft sits for six months in draftspace? I can understand using draftspace to quickly move obviously underdeveloped pages off off mainspace, however, this page was > 1 month old. The way I would have dealt with the article would have been to remove the unreliable sources, done a BEFORE check and then tagged it {{more references needed}} (or AFDed it if I had determined that RS did not exist). Sohom (talk) 10:55, 18 June 2024 (UTC)- The claim you called absurd is followed day in and day out by new page reviewers. I believe that is also a reason why we have the It needs more sources to establish notability option in the MoveToDraft script. Mainspace articles can be moved to draft with a valid reason until they are more than 90 days old. We also have Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion/G13 to restore drafts that have been deleted. I will not be replying further as my explanations above address the concerns you raised. Cheers Jeraxmoiraš (talk) 11:43, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- I find your rationale and thought process troubling to say the least. I will bring this up at WT:NPPR for further discussion. However, we can agree to disagree for this threadĀ :( Sohom (talk) 11:53, 18 June 2024 (UTC)

Paid editing?
[edit]Hi Jeraxmoira, I made some edits to trim puffery from Moksha Kalyanram Abhiramula and I noticed that you had marked the other article created by the same editor as possible WP:UPE. I'm not sure what evidence there is for this, but you might want to take a look at this article as well and see if should also be flagged as possible UPE? Thanks. Melcous (talk) 11:54, 28 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Melcous. My concern was that there was a source that was published on the same day the article was also created, 25 June. The article also used the same image from the source. It's highly unlikely for a single-purpose account to create an article with a source published on the same day, which made me think it was UPE. Sadly, there is no actual way to prove this unless this SPA goes back to their previous editing pattern or recreates a deleted article. The sources on Moksha Kalyanram Abhiramula are all biography listings, primary sources, and press releases. I'll do a WP:BEFORE and nominate it for deletion when I get some time. Thank you for the ping Jeraxmoiraš (talk) 17:30, 28 June 2024 (UTC)

CSD G5s
[edit]Hello, Jeraxmoira,
I untagged a few of the pages you tagged for CSD G5 speedy deletion. Please examine each page before you tag it for deletion because not all of these articles, redirects and drafts met the G5 criteria. One article was in the middle of an article merger and I don't think speedy deletion takes priority over that. Another page had been part of a previous merge and I believe we need to retain it for attribution purposes. Also, the page creator has to be a confirmed sockpuppet, not just an editor listed on an open SPI report and has to be the sole or primary contributor to an article. Several articles you tagged had substantial contributions from several other editors so these articles weren't eligible for CSD G5. Please review WP:G5 to better understand the exact conditions that need to be in place for the G5 criteria to be valid.
But thank you for all of your contributions to the project, your patrolling is appreciated! Liz Read! Talk! 00:22, 17 August 2024 (UTC)

Quick draftifications
[edit]Good morning,
I noticed that today you moved a page to draft space 5 minutes after it was created. You also moved Draft:Mustafa Hills 36 minutes after it was created. Please be aware that WP:NPPHOUR is considered a best practice that NPP members are generally expected to follow. Pages are allowed to be worked on in main space and moving pages to draft space too quickly, before a user has a chance to complete it. These types of quick draftifies may be considered WP:BITEy behaviour and may push new contributors away, which is why we typically give them at least an hour since the last productive edit. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:37, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot IQR IQR (talk) 13:48, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, I shouldnāt have done it, but the authorās talk page history and contributions implied that they werenāt trying to address the issues with the articles they had created earlier. I will keep the WP:NPPHOUR in mind. Jeraxmoiraš (talk) 13:59, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- It may imply it, but the way I view it, a new user may be taking the time to try to figure something out and reading elsewhere. Reference formatting wasn't easy for me early on, so I was reading help pages figuring out the proper syntax for an hour or so. Never hurts to assume good faith and give someone a bit of extra time, it may help keep a potentially good contributor around longerĀ ;) Hey man im josh (talk) 14:05, 14 October 2024 (UTC)

TVK
[edit]Sir. This person called Yarohj is adding fake info to TVK page. Marxism is not even there in the citations he added. Please delete that. Vijay or TVK did not say TVK is left wing. It is only said by the news website. Please fix it. He is bringing his political agenda into that page. 2409:4072:6C96:68CF:6F4E:6AE4:BB93:4A69 (talk) 17:31, 27 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi IP, I am not Jeraxmoira but if there are issues with the article, you need to start a discussion on the article's talk page. However, I will point out Wikipedia goes by what reliable secondary sources state about a subject; not what the subject says about itself. You could be right; I don't know, but be prepared to provide such sources to support your claims or prove the current cited sources do not support the content. - @S0091 I asked to him about proof of Marxism in his page (User talk:Yarohj) that he included. He shows me a opinion of a party spokesperson known by no body. He added opinion of one of spokesperson as a primary ideology of party when the party did not tell that is the ideology. 2409:4072:6C96:68CF:854A:ACE2:C6C9:65DB (talk) 01:46, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
Hello, this BLP clearly contains unreliable sources and also includes some original research. Yet, you're removing the tags. May I ask why? ā Saqib (talk I contribs) 07:16, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
- I haven't reviewed the existing sources yet, but the tags were mistakenly removed in the formatting I applied. I've reverted it now. Jeraxmoiraš (talk) 07:21, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
