Request of Review
[edit]Hi dragon @Jeraxmoira, you moved the article Draft:GreenAir to the draft space. I have heavily rewritten it. Can you review it, please? Thanks, Hegesinus (talk) 07:21, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

Question regarding Draft:Takhteshwar_Temple
[edit]Could you expand on why you draftified Draft:Takhteshwar_Temple? There appear to be multiple sources[1][2][3] (based on a quick WP:BEFORE search) that push it over the brink of notability. Am I missing something here? Sohom (talk) 15:38, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Sohom Datta, please see Wikipedia:Drafts#During_new_page_review. There's no point in having an article with tour/travel company listings that are not WP:RS. Almost none of the information was verifiable in reliable sources that were cited in the article, making it unfit for the mainspace. WP:BEFORE is only for AfDs. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 16:11, 17 June 2024 (UTC)
- I do see your point here, but I'd personally say travel guide listings are in fact RS for a place that is primarily known for it's tourism. Also, while you do point out that the policies as currently written do not explicitly ask you to perform a BEFORE search, I do think performing a BEFORE search before taking a content action that could potentially result in a article being deleted is a good idea in general. Sohom (talk) 04:09, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- Travel/ tour company listings are not reliable for information on architecture, significance or the origins of a location/ temple's name. They can be used for uncontroversial claims, i.e. location, coordinates etc,. SEO optimized travel websites that copy content to rank high on Google are not reliable sources.
- In this case, a before search was not needed as I did not nominate it for deletion. I'm sorry, but it is not the responsibility of NPRs to find sources while patrolling new articles, as this would take up a lot of time for what I believe is an unimportant/ low-interest topic. Regarding your deletion concern, the article was moved to the draftspace. Even if it hadn't been, any editor who nominates the article will have to do their own before search. If the subject is indeed notable, it will not be nominated. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 05:51, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- I hadn't looked at the history, I had assumed you were talking about my book sources. I'd agree that the sources you removed were unreliable.
- However,
I'm sorry, but it is not the responsibility of NPRs to find sources while patrolling new articles, as this would take up a lot of time for what I believe is an unimportant/ low-interest topic.
is an absurd claim to make. The whole point of NPR is to make judgement calls on the notability of subject which inherently require a BEFORE check. Also, you do realize that draft deletions are automatic right, if the draft sits for six months in draftspace? I can understand using draftspace to quickly move obviously underdeveloped pages off off mainspace, however, this page was > 1 month old. The way I would have dealt with the article would have been to remove the unreliable sources, done a BEFORE check and then tagged it {{more references needed}} (or AFDed it if I had determined that RS did not exist). Sohom (talk) 10:55, 18 June 2024 (UTC)- The claim you called absurd is followed day in and day out by new page reviewers. I believe that is also a reason why we have the It needs more sources to establish notability option in the MoveToDraft script. Mainspace articles can be moved to draft with a valid reason until they are more than 90 days old. We also have Wikipedia:Requests for undeletion/G13 to restore drafts that have been deleted. I will not be replying further as my explanations above address the concerns you raised. Cheers Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 11:43, 18 June 2024 (UTC)
- I find your rationale and thought process troubling to say the least. I will bring this up at WT:NPPR for further discussion. However, we can agree to disagree for this thread :( Sohom (talk) 11:53, 18 June 2024 (UTC)

Paid editing?
[edit]Hi Jeraxmoira, I made some edits to trim puffery from Moksha Kalyanram Abhiramula and I noticed that you had marked the other article created by the same editor as possible WP:UPE. I'm not sure what evidence there is for this, but you might want to take a look at this article as well and see if should also be flagged as possible UPE? Thanks. Melcous (talk) 11:54, 28 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Melcous. My concern was that there was a source that was published on the same day the article was also created, 25 June. The article also used the same image from the source. It's highly unlikely for a single-purpose account to create an article with a source published on the same day, which made me think it was UPE. Sadly, there is no actual way to prove this unless this SPA goes back to their previous editing pattern or recreates a deleted article. The sources on Moksha Kalyanram Abhiramula are all biography listings, primary sources, and press releases. I'll do a WP:BEFORE and nominate it for deletion when I get some time. Thank you for the ping Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 17:30, 28 June 2024 (UTC)

- Indiana's Football, there was no G7 tag on the deletion discussion when you removed the AfD notice from the article. You should not remove the AfD notice before the discussion is closed or deleted. There is also a bot that adds back the AfD notice if it is removed before a discussion is closed or deleted. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 07:13, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

I just can’t thank you enough for your work on David Yong—I was shocked to see ya pick up on it just before it was deleted (G13), and even more shocked that it became an article! SoundExchange COI template
[edit]Hi! Why did you remove the COI template over at SoundExchange? Sure, the talkpage is full of COI edit requests but large parts of the article were also written by COI editors (or people who just get super enthousiastic thinking about these music royalty distribution systems, which is the same thing). Also, wyvern or dragon what do you prefer and why. Polygnotus (talk) 21:06, 16 July 2024 (UTC)
- What's the pointing of having maintenance tags when you are addressing the issues? I assumed you were already fixing it. If not, I'll look into it once you are done.
- I call wyverns dragons as well and its just an inclination to mythical creatures. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 21:17, 16 July 2024 (UTC)

Can you kindly remove the SPA tag you have inappropriately and improperly placed on my comment? The SPA tagging section clearly states that the tag should only be used on pages that relate to the single-purpose account's "single purpose"
. If I was a SPA, it would be on the John Lennon topic area, since most of my edits are from there. I have made no edits even remotely pertaining to the 1M1B organisation outside of the Afd discussion. Whoareuagain (talk) 23:38, 4 August 2024 (UTC)

CSD G5s
[edit]Hello, Jeraxmoira,
I untagged a few of the pages you tagged for CSD G5 speedy deletion. Please examine each page before you tag it for deletion because not all of these articles, redirects and drafts met the G5 criteria. One article was in the middle of an article merger and I don't think speedy deletion takes priority over that. Another page had been part of a previous merge and I believe we need to retain it for attribution purposes. Also, the page creator has to be a confirmed sockpuppet, not just an editor listed on an open SPI report and has to be the sole or primary contributor to an article. Several articles you tagged had substantial contributions from several other editors so these articles weren't eligible for CSD G5. Please review WP:G5 to better understand the exact conditions that need to be in place for the G5 criteria to be valid.
But thank you for all of your contributions to the project, your patrolling is appreciated! Liz Read! Talk! 00:22, 17 August 2024 (UTC)

Quick draftifications
[edit]Good morning,
I noticed that today you moved a page to draft space 5 minutes after it was created. You also moved Draft:Mustafa Hills 36 minutes after it was created. Please be aware that WP:NPPHOUR is considered a best practice that NPP members are generally expected to follow. Pages are allowed to be worked on in main space and moving pages to draft space too quickly, before a user has a chance to complete it. These types of quick draftifies may be considered WP:BITEy behaviour and may push new contributors away, which is why we typically give them at least an hour since the last productive edit. Hey man im josh (talk) 13:37, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot IQR IQR (talk) 13:48, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, I shouldn’t have done it, but the author’s talk page history and contributions implied that they weren’t trying to address the issues with the articles they had created earlier. I will keep the WP:NPPHOUR in mind. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 13:59, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
- It may imply it, but the way I view it, a new user may be taking the time to try to figure something out and reading elsewhere. Reference formatting wasn't easy for me early on, so I was reading help pages figuring out the proper syntax for an hour or so. Never hurts to assume good faith and give someone a bit of extra time, it may help keep a potentially good contributor around longer ;) Hey man im josh (talk) 14:05, 14 October 2024 (UTC)
Hi, Jeraxmoira! I wanted to check back in with you regarding quick draftifications as I saw that you moved Draft:Ali Raza (actor) to the draft space less than 40 minutes after the page creator had last edited it. Please keep in NPPHOUR in mind as you work. It looks like you are usingMPGuy2824's MoveToDraft, which should warn you if the article has been edited within the past hour. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 15:02, 19 November 2024 (UTC)
- I wouldn't call it quick, as Munch03 had an hour after creating the article, yet they chose to create more unreferenced articles instead of improving the existing one. They are also linked to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Sunuraju. It's just a bold move nonetheless and AGF shouldn't apply to obvious socks. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 15:17, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

- Hi IP, I am not Jeraxmoira but if there are issues with the article, you need to start a discussion on the article's talk page. However, I will point out Wikipedia goes by what reliable secondary sources state about a subject; not what the subject says about itself. You could be right; I don't know, but be prepared to provide such sources to support your claims or prove the current cited sources do not support the content. Please move this page back to draft space. It failed AFC review and one of the editor, likely sock of the creator of the same page, moved it to mainspace. RangersRus (talk) 09:56, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- @RangersRus (talk page watcher) Please make an SPI (Twinkle allows this with ease). You may also wish to avail yourself of the "Draftify" script which allows you to do this with ease, and even with charm!
- Meanwhile I will draftily it for you (both) 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 10:22, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- It seems I cannot. The redirect has been fiddled with preventing my moving it back. @RangersRus an alternative is to send it to AfD. Your choice. Or Draft:Murivu can be admin deleted and the article moved back to replace it 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 10:27, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- RangersRus, we already have an SPI open for Rydex64. The main issue here is that we couldn’t find Rydex64's master account, so none of their articles were deleted. I already draftified Murivu on 19 July 2024, so I believe it’s not eligible for draftification again unless someone wants to be WP:BOLD. The other way is to check if there is any overlap between User:ArifVlog782 and Rydex64 (which I’ll take a look at shortly). If overlap is found, we could simply WP:BANREVERT and move it back to draftspace. But, articles about latest Indian films are almost always notable since they typically receive 2-3 full length reviews in local / national news media. From my experience, Wikipedia is more inclined to keep such articles if they pass WP:N, even if they were created by a bad faith editor. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 10:50, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- I agree that film pages should have 2-3 reviews to pass WP:NFILM but this film page does not have any and that is why I declined the draft and asked to add multiple reviews and resubmit again. Now this editor ArifVlog782 not only moved the draft to mainspace but also posted a fake AFC acceptance message. I also suspect canvassing. See how other editor tries to fix the fake acceptance message. RangersRus (talk) 12:31, 12 November 2024 (UTC)

- We know that AFC review policies and guidelines have been violated by moving the page from draft to mainspace and posting a fake acceptance message. Adding @CNMall41: here to see what he makes of this. Will WP:ANI be another approach? RangersRus (talk) 13:37, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- Sorry Jeraxmoira for using your talk page for a conference meeting here lol. RangersRus (talk) 13:41, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- As far as I know, AFC review policies and guidelines do not prohibit moving an article to the mainspace, even if it was rejected or created by a sock. There is nothing in the guidelines related to fake acceptance messages as well. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 16:32, 12 November 2024 (UTC)

Observation
[edit]- IMO, also consdiering the timing of the edits, I don't think DareshMohan is involved and the AFC accepting edit was likely just to remove the red link. If needed, DareshMohan could have created or moved the article to the mainspace on his own; I don’t think they would need another account. An editor with 3-4 years of experience would probably not make this rookie mistake.
- User:ArifVlog782 is surely a sock of someone, but IMHO, I don't think they are related to the Rydex64 case. The only overlap here is on the article Murivu. Newly created SPAs/socks usually patrol new pages and dig up old pages/drafts related to other SPI cases, moving them to the mainspace to mislead editors/admins who are trying to find behavioral evidence against them. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 16:23, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- Timtrent and RangersRus, if my observations make any sense, please consider G7'ing the SPI on DareshMohan. If they don't, then let the SPI run its course, but I strongly believe CU will be denied. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 16:29, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- I think, for my part, letting it run does no harm, and may bear some fruit. This is despite your observations making sense. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 16:35, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- DareshMohan with 3 to 4 years of experience, you would expect them to know the difference between an AFC generated acceptance message and the fake one. He could have in good faith told ArifVlog782 that this is not the right way to move a page without AFC's accepted review and reverted the move back. This makes me think of canvas. What you make of it @Timtrent: ? RangersRus (talk) 16:41, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- @RangersRus I will let wiser heads than mine judge this. All editors are Abe to make good faith errors. I include myself in this. 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 16:57, 12 November 2024 (UTC)

Excuse my language but this is a goddam mess. It is likely related to this. Note that a CU will not likely find a strong technical connection due to the SOCK farm's experience in SPI. Give me a few minutes to gather things and I will leave another note here. --CNMall41 (talk) 18:57, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- That one has been annoying me for some time. Good luck 🇺🇦 FiddleTimtrent FaddleTalk to me 🇺🇦 19:23, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
- I do not want to put any more evidence on the SPI page as I know it is already a nightmare for a CU. I will leave it here in the event anyone wants to transfer it over or user ANI as a way to put the brakes on the UPE until the SPI can be figured out. Pinging @Timtrent:, @RangersRus:.
- Rydex64 and ArifVlog782 have a connection based on AfC (not to mention similar name stylings with letters followed by numbers – not strong but a little something). User Rydex64 requested to be an AfC reviewer just prior to their block. This would indicate the intention to use AfC as a tool to help move pages with less scrutiny. User ArifVlog782 leaving this AfC message shows that both are familiar with the process and attempting to use it to their advantage.
- I am of the belief that these are likely MEAT hired by this firm which has been connected to the StayCalmOnTrees SPI (which I believe will be shown in the SPI filing for the link I shared above on Sunuraju). Note that Sunuraju edited Murivu one day after Rydex64. They are being bold which tells me they are likely being careful to avoid using the same IP based on their previous SPI experience and forgot that behavrioal evidence can be just as good as CU evidence. Rydex64 and Sunuraju have the similar generic userpage message typically left by this farm to avoid the redlinked name and to give the impression they are not an SPA. Editor interaction tool shows an overlap with Sunuraju and Rydex64. When looking at those overlaps, I see edits close to each other and often right after a new page creation which to me indicates they are both coordinating.
- Finally, the SPI I linked to above that I recently filed for Sunuraju is going to be connected to a user with 100,000+ edits over the last decade. There is a ton of off-Wiki evidence which was emailed to Wikipedia so waiting on that response. That user has not been outed on Wikipedia as of yet but I think I will do so shortly as their account has been dormant for almost two months and I don’t want it to go past the ability of a CU to gather evidence. For the record, it is not RangersRus and that user has never raised a flag that would indicate I should check their editing history more. Long story short, it is a rabbit hole and I am glad I am not an admin or CU as the rats nest is going to take some time to untangle. --CNMall41 (talk) 19:25, 12 November 2024 (UTC)

- Actually, just found the nail. User Sunuraju left a similar AfC acceptance message on the page of Faymas (both users are listed in the SPI). Feel free to take to ANI at this point. I fear that me piling on at SPI is muddying the waters. --CNMall41 (talk) 19:50, 12 November 2024 (UTC)

Sockfarm
[edit]@CNMall41:@Timtrent: [7] Oddly enough three editors together in the span of half an hour created this article. Approval of the draft was asked on my talk page [8] for Draft:Ijaaz Ebrahim (actor), and I think he went on to create the article himself without the (actor) in the name. DareshMohan (talk) 05:28, 14 November 2024 (UTC)
- Update: I created Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/ArifVlog782. These two edits are very fishy to me [9] [10]. Is he publicly declaring his COI? DareshMohan (talk) 05:41, 14 November 2024 (UTC)

Socks
[edit]Hello, Jeraxmoira,
When you strike the comments of a sock in an AFD could you leave an explanation and also leave your signature? Otherwise, it isn't clear why an editor's comments have been struck out. I mostly usually write "sock strike" and sign my username. Just striking comments raises more questions than necessary if you spend an extra minute to provide an explanation. Thank you for all of your contributions to the project. Liz Read! Talk! 05:36, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- I linked the SPI in the edit summary, but I'll keep in mind to sign them in the future. Jeraxmoira🐉 (talk) 06:02, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
