License tagging for File:Settlement Fight - Map.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Settlement Fight - Map.png. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 12:06, 6 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

How do I put a file on another language Wikipedia?

[edit]

So, I asked the question here, but got no answer... So I'm just wondering how I make a version of an image on another language Wikipedia, like the Catalan or Spanish Wikipedia? JaumeBG 08:21, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If the image is on WP:Commons, it is already available to all Wikimedia projects. If not, the easiest way would be to move it to Commons - see WP:MTC. If you are creating an article on another language Wikipedia, you will need an account there, but if you set up a unified login - see WP:SUL - you will have that automatically. Great, thanks John! JaumeBG 09:49, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

10 most populous south australian cities

[edit]

Can you please provide a reference for the 10 most populous South Australian cities template. Stirling isn't considered a city at all and has a population of less than 3,000 meaning somewhere like Naracoorte or Nuriootpa should surely be in there before Stirling. Cheers Donama (talk) 01:03, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I got the list from this article: List of places in South Australia by population#25 largest Urban Centres / Localities by population... But thanks for improving the template, I appreciate it! --JaumeBG 01:35, 7 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Yeah, just decided to update you with a few general things here. First off, I should have a computer permanently tomorrow, but I'm not sure, it may be later. I will have continuous access to the WP thread and MSN, but that's practically it. Also, I enjoy seeing this user-box on your profile.

Yeah, you're pretty optimistic, aren't you? :P SellyminimeTalk 23:12, 6 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I no longer edit in this version of Wikipedia. --JaumeBG 06:00, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
What if I came back and starting editing the sports articles with you again? I'm thinking of finishing the 2007-08 Tunisian Ligue Professionnelle 1 article. SellyminimeTalk 22:08, 7 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If only you knew Catalan... There are a shitload of articles that need to be done and be improved there. Whenever I finish that, I'll start editing here again. --JaumeBG 03:46, 8 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If only, if only. I want to learn Chamorro and improve ch.wikipedia.org, but that ain't happening either. Though I can guarantee I can find you articles that need improving on en.wikipedia.org. Look at the ATP Challenger Tour and any linked articles. SellyminimeTalk 04:30, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Defamed By Wikipedia

[edit]

I no longer attempt to work through Wikipedia talk pages or Wikipedia in general regarding the malicious and defamatory material which left-wing Wikipedia editors, acting out of ideological bias and their own personal agendas, have repeatedly inserted into my Wikipedia entry. I attempted to use the Wikipedia mediation and arbitration procedures, as prescribed, and to date I have not received one single reply from anyone in authority at Wikipedia. Every attempt I have made to use Wikipedia's formal complaints procedure has been simply ignored and my comments taken off line (as this comment probably will be.) FIVE YEARS of discussion was blown away in this manner, I presume because I was making my case against the entry in too persuasive a manner and the Wiki-kooks were becoming embarrassed.

I use multiple accounts, yes, because Wikipedia has responded to my repeated attempts to get them to remove malicious and defamatory material from my entry with silence and with censorship. They say that the greatest compliment one man can pay to another is to attempt to silence him by force. I could do with fewer such compliments from Wikipedia.

These days I carry on my efforts to counter the false, malicious and defamatory material from my entry in a forum which (so far) Wikipedia and the rest of the left has failed to silence. Check out

defamedbywikipedia.blogspot.com

This site has so terrified the Wiki-kooks that they have banned it, so I can't post the complete link. I'm sure you can add in the http etc.

There should be something in newspapers up to c1945, online in Papers Past ([1]). Though the papers covering up to 1945 (Auckland Star & Evening Post) are not South Island papers, they would give the byelection results. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hugo999 (talkcontribs) 21:55, 9 July 2012‎ (UTC)[reply]

Notification of proposal to ban Spanish articles from Did You Know?

[edit]

Dear WikiProject Spain member,

There is currently a proposal to ban articles concerning a large area of southern Andalusia from appearing on the Main Page of Wikipedia in the Did you know? section. This would affect a significant number of articles within the scope of WikiProject Spain. If you have a view on this proposal, please see Wikipedia talk:Did you know/Gibraltar-related DYKs‎#Proposal for one-year moratorium on Gibraltarpedia DYKs. In addition, you may have a view on an alternative proposal to lift restrictions on Gibraltar-related articles on DYK - please see Wikipedia talk:Did you know/Gibraltar-related DYKs#Proposal for lifting the restrictions on Gibraltar-related DYKs. New Challenge for Oceania and Australia

[edit]

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Oceania/The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia/The 5000 Challenge are up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. The Australia challenge would feed into the wider region one and potentially New Zealand could have a smaller challenge too. The main goal is content improvement, tackling stale old stubs and important content and improving sourcing/making more consistent but new articles are also welcome if sourced. I understand that this is a big goal for regular editors, especially being summertime where you are, but if you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Oceania and Australia like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1700 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for the region but fuelled by a series of contests to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. The Africa contest scaled worldwide would naturally provide great benefits to Oceania countries, particularly Australia and attract new editors. I would like some support from existing editors here to get the Challenges off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile and potentially bring about hundreds of improvements in a few weeks through a contest! Cheers.♦ --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:12, 24 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article Dan Morgan (footballer) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:FOOTBALL and WP:GNG. Plays in non professional league. Closest thing would be as a sub in Club World Cup.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. ESEAP Conference 2018

[edit]

Hello JaumeBG,

I’m Irvin from PhilWiki Community, a member of the Communication Committee of the ESEAP Conference. ESEAP Conference 2018 is a regional conference for Wikimedia communities throughout the ESEAP region: ESEAP stands for East, Southeast Asia, and Pacific. Taking place in Bali, Indonesia on 5–6 May 2018, this is the first regional conference for these Wikimedia communities.

East and Southeast Asia and the Pacific are the most under-represented regions within the Wikimedia community. There is a significant number of Wikimedia contributors in our regions, yet we continue to struggle in establishing a well-managed community. This conference will bring participants from various ESEAP communities together in order to better understand the issues and to look for solutions. It also aims to connect people of the Wikimedia movement within ESEAP regions, to share ideas, and to build regional collaborations that are impossible to achieve through online communication.

We’ve got a lot of participation from several countries, but we’re lacking from your country. As we need more participants from your country, we believe that your contribution and participation would be a valuable asset to the success of this event. If you would like to participate in the conference, please do fill the form as soon as possible (by April 5, 2018) and we’ll inform you if you get selected for the conference.

Thank you and we hope to see you soon. --Filipinayzd 01:37, 31 March 2018 (UTC)

Your signature

Please be aware that your signature uses deprecated <font> tags, which are causing Obsolete HTML tags lint errors. Also, the hexadecimal color with semicolon is not proper markup; as far as I can tell, #ffc94b; displays the same as #ff9400. Also, the signature markup has misnested tags, with <font> opened inside a wikilink and closed outside the wikilink.

A tag has been placed on Bit (key requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section R3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a recently created redirect from an implausible typo or misnomer, or other unlikely search term.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. signed, Rosguill talk 16:46, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox discussion and potential alterations

[edit]

The Infobox rugby biography is being debated as to whether modifications are necessary. Some modifications include renaming the "National team(s)" heading to a more inclusive and alternative term such as "Representative teams" or "Representative career". Further discussions include the inclusion of other notable sides in the National team(s) section of the infobox, such as the British & Irish Lions, Māori All Blacks, Emerging Springboks, Barbarian F.C. and so forth.

You are welcome to participate in these debates, which will continue at National team(s) name change and Inclusion of second international teams until a consensus is established. Kidsoljah (talk) 20:25, 28 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to an in-person meetup in Mohua / Golden Bay

[edit]
Golden Bay Air are holding some seats for us until 21 November

Thinking about your summer break? Think about joining other Wikipedians and Wikimedians in Golden Bay / Mohua! Details are on the meetup page. There's heaps of interesting stuff to work on e.g. the oldest extant waka or New Zealand's oldest ongoing legal case. Or you may spend your time taking photos and then upload them.

Golden Bay is hard to get to and the airline flying into Tākaka uses small planes, so we are holding some seats from and to Wellington and we are offering attendees a $200 travel subsidy to help with costs.

Be in touch with Schwede66 if this event interests you and you'd like to discuss logistics. Schwede66 09:14, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for the late reply and thanks heaps for the invite. I unfortunately won't be able to make it but I hope it goes brilliantly. Cheers. JaumeBG (talk) 07:53, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
