James Elliott Ferguson II moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, James Elliott Ferguson II, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. - Hi, I have moved this into the draft space, for two reasons.
- Firstly, you have a declared COI with regards to this subject, and therefore you should not publish directly yourself, you should go through the AfC process.
- Secondly, you already have a draft in the system, at Draft:James Elliott Ferguson II, and this appears to be a copypaste of it. Copypaste moves create all sorts of problems, including losing the edit history, and for that reason they are not allowed.
- Please continue pursuing the original draft, and do not create additional copies. Thank you. -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 14:52, 8 September 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:James Elliott Ferguson II copy
[edit]A tag has been placed on Draft:James Elliott Ferguson II copy requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
this was a copypaste of an existing AfC draft, created in the main space by an editor with declared COI; my suggestion is to keep the original draft, and delete this before it takes on a life of its own
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. - Hi Jalynblack, I have searched through library resources available to me trying to find sources about Ferguson. I did find substantial coverage via Newpapers.com about the Wilmington Ten case but those contained largely his statements or general coverage about the trial which are not useful for notability. I did find a couple articles that had information about him, which I added to the draft, but those were mostly interviews with a little bit of background information but still not enough to support notability. I also searched Gale, Proquest and JSTOR. I suggest checking Google Books but be careful about using material based on interviews with him. S0091 (talk) 18:01, 25 October 2022 (UTC)
