Kenneth Ward
[edit]Hey, JJpeterson! You created the article Kenneth Ward just now, and you've probably noticed that I added a tag to the reference specifying that the material was copied from a public domain source- namely, his official US gov profile. Wikipedia has pretty strict rules on both copyright and plagiarism, and it's really important that we all read and follow them.
But now that that's all dealt with, allow me to give you a very belated welcome to Wikipedia! Glad you've decided to stick around and get more active in the project. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask at the teahouse or at my talk page. Happy editing! GreenLipstickLesbian (talk) 06:20, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi GreenLipstickLesbian, thank you so much for your warm welcome and information. This is duely noted. I'm looking forward to more editings! JJpeterson (talk) 17:47, 7 July 2024 (UTC)
- Forgot to @GreenLipstickLesbian you. Here it is. Thanks again! JJpeterson (talk) 03:07, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
Kenneth Ward moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Kenneth Ward. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and those sources should be reliable and independent of the subject. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 02:14, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Significa liberdade, thank you for your message! I wanted to let you know that Kenneth Ward, along with Brent Hartley and Dead Pittman, were found in the list of US Ambassadors lacking a wikipedia page (I cannot recall the exact name but there is one, in the executive branch of US government officials), so I thought these names were notable enough for their pages. @Significa liberdade JJpeterson (talk) 03:06, 8 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi! These individuals are likely notable! However, you'll still want to include additional sources to ensure they meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines for people. Additionally, it would be beneficial to paraphrase the information on the page, even though it's not technically a copyright violation. =) Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 03:10, 8 July 2024 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Jennifer M. Adams
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Jennifer M. Adams requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jennifer M. Adams (2nd nomination). When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. [edit]Hi JJpeterson! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at List of largest empires that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Thank you. TompaDompa (talk) 11:17, 10 July 2024 (UTC)
Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. A page you created or have recently made significant changes to, Catherine Szpindor, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for pages, so it has been blanked and redirected. Three typical reasons for this are that: (1) the article's subject appears to fail our notability guidelines; (2) the article is unsourced; or (3) the sources used in the article are unreliable. The page's history is preserved and it is possible to restore the article: If you believe that this page should remain included on Wikipedia or that this action was taken in error, then you may revert the edit that blanked and redirected the page.
Wikipedia:Your first article has more information about creating articles, and you may also want to read our introduction page to learn more about contributing. Thank you. voorts (talk/contributions) 07:56, 28 July 2024 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for July 25
[edit]An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Pyongyang, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Korean.
(Opt-out instructions.) --DPL bot (talk) 08:35, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
Please review the stylisation guidelines on Korea-related articles. In particular, adding Hangul and Hanja to article leads unnecessarily clutters them and should instead be left to efn notes and infoboxes. The DPRK also does not use Hanja and the ROK rarely uses them outside of references to historical documents. Yue🌙 20:14, 25 July 2024 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Catherine Szpindor
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Catherine Szpindor requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.congress.gov/118/meeting/house/117121/witnesses/HHRG-118-AP24-Bio-SzpindorC-20240417.pdf. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. voorts (talk/contributions) 07:49, 28 July 2024 (UTC)
The pacific review moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to The pacific review. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and it is promotional and reads like an advertisement. - Hi there, thank you for the quick response. However, this is genuinely not promotional. This academic journal is in fact one of the most promient journals in the scholarly world that happen to not have a wikipedia page. It is managed by Warwick University in the United Kingdom. Many lower tier journals have page and I found it weird that if this one is not qualified. I am an emerging academic and I believe you can tell from my editing history. I ask you to please double check it and check my other acedmic journals there, all of which only one one source which is their about page. For example: Journal of Paleontology, The China Journal, Journal of Ancient History, Journal of Peace Research, Journal of Historical Geography, and hundreds of thousands more academic journals are just like this, with a simple reference from their main publishing website. @Discospinster JJpeterson (talk) 03:24, 1 November 2024 (UTC)
