Happy New Year!

A cat to ease all of your troubles
A cat to ease all of your troubles
Happy New Year!
Hey there, Indubitably! Happy new Gregorian year. All the best for the new year, both towards you and your family and friends too. I know that I am the only person lonely enough to be running this thing as the new year is ushered in, but meh, what are you going to do. I like to keep my templated messages in a satisfactorily melancholy tone. ;)

Congratulations to Coren, Wizardman, Vassyana, Carcharoth, Jayvdb, Casliber, Risker, Roger Davies, Cool Hand Luke and Rlevse, who were all appointed to the Arbitration Committee after the ArbCom elections. I am sure I am but a voice of many when I say I trust the aforementioned users to improve the committee, each in their own way, as listed within their respective election statements. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to update the 2009 article, heh.

Best wishes, neuro(talk) 00:51, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Happy New Year!

Dear Jennavecia,

Wishing you a happy new year, and very best wishes for 2009. Whether we were friends or not in the past year, I hope 2009 will be better for us both.

Kind regards,

New AN/I thread

There is a brand spanking new thread regarding what I mentioned in my email earlier today. Here is the link. Willking1979 (talk) 01:36, 2 January 2009 (UTC)

CalendarWatcher still at it

Hey remember the user I was telling you about a week or so ago, who showed up in the LawLord case with a sudden opinion to challenge mine and respond incivilly to me after we had, had prior dealings on the Talk:List of shipwrecks article. Well, the user is still at it. A few days later, he showed up out of nowhere yet again, involving himself in yet another debate I was having (an old debate which didn't involve him but another user) on the 2009 article talkpage, as shown here where I return and make a joking comment to the user involved [1] and then here where he incivily chimes in with this edit [2]. I originally had dealings with this user at the bottom of this article talk page Talk:List of shipwrecks regarding an incident in which he violated the 3RR as shown here [3] but an admin gave him a 2nd chance because I didn't give him a warning.

Anyways, now he's added uncivil comments on my user talk page as shown here [4] and when I removed them, he reverted my talkpage with the addition of more incivility, as shown here [5] . He also seems to be trying to cause trouble between myself and the user who adopted me as shown here [6] . Sorry to bother you again, but user CalendarWatcher has already avoided one block for the 3RR and now is continually reverting my own talkpage so he can keep incivility on it. He's broken several rules, so could you please step in. Cheers! Cheers_Dude (talk) 14:34, 3 January 2009 (UTC)

RE: Signature

I do not transclude my signature. Garden. 20:33, 6 January 2009 (UTC)

I am completely lost as to what that thread was about then... nevermind. :/ لennavecia 20:58, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
Because Garden substitutes it rather than transclusion, as he admits here in direct violation of WP:SIG#NT. But the point, of course, is that this particular guidelineypolicythigumy is disputed, and any atempts to clear it up have resulted in, well, nothing. The current guideline says do not subst: your sig. Garden does. There is no consensus as to wether it's a good idea to ignore the guideline or remove it. That's it really. Pedro :  Chat  21:04, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
I wish this would all stop (and I doubt it will until I do what Pedro wants, but still) but this seem to contradict everything SIG#NT says. That's the last I'm saying; there is much more stupid drama to generate than over a signature on ANI. (Not a dig at either of you. Just blown out of proportion a little.) Garden. 21:25, 6 January 2009 (UTC)
It's just discussion, don't let it be a big deal... at least from my perspective. That page is just a help page, thought not official, right? Guide would trump it, but it's still just a guide... so can a guide technically trump anything? Who knows. I don't even understand how one subst's a sig if it's not a template. I'm confused as hell. It doesn't matter. This is not new (me being confused... note the hair color). Garden's sig looks exactly the same to me everywhere I see it. Bold navy. So I don't really know what the point of any subst'ing or whatever is, maybe it doesn't work in FF or maybe I'm missing the point. Either way... I'm rambling. I don't really give a fuck what your sig does, how much it drains servers or whether or not it can be archived by a bot. I enforce policy, not guide. Hahaha. Merry Tuesday. لennavecia 04:30, 7 January 2009 (UTC)

Any suggestions on what to do with this article? I did a tiny little bit of cleanup on it, but I'm not even sure it deserves an article. Enigmamsg 03:31, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Hmm. I don't know. I'd say nom it for deletion. I don't know the standard there. When I go through CSD, I just close my eyes, click and pray. ;) لennavecia 03:50, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Sorry to see the note

Sorry to see another anti-admin go... while we didn't always agree, I think we were on the same side more than not... I do want to give a special thank you for not turning on me when I made my major faux pas back in May. Your voice actually helped me reflect on my own thoughts/feelings, and I might have left WP then if not for you. Thank you, hope that you return when you're ready.---Balloonman PoppaBalloonCSD Survey Results 15:13, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Good things to learn....I just discovered that grating granny smith apples is a great way to cook them in pancakes (cutting them in chunks and cooking them always makes for a fat thing that doesn't cook properly). And reducing blueberries in maple syrup in a few minutes over the stove makes a good blueberry sauce. Blueberries used to be insanely expensive here in Australia but have become much cheaper in the past few years and North of Sydney some of the pineapple and banana plantations have been replaced by blueberries. See, you learn something new every day...think about this next time you cook breakfast and get a warm inner glow ;) Cheers, Casliber (talk · contribs) 05:23, 9 January 2009 (UTC)

Semi! Around, just less often. لennavecia 21:03, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

you just Falsely Warned someone

Hi,

I believe that you just falsely warned someone because that was actually a sandbox that I was experementing on OK? And like I said to a different person on here ( I don't remember who) but I have seen editors blank the sandbox page alot of times amnd they were off the hook for it so I don't really think that was Warnable Ok? Thank you.--Chase25 (talk) 20:45, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Blanking the sandbox is not acceptabe. There is a message in the edit window at the top that clearly states to edit below it, not to delete it or the template above it. Deleting those removes the information and instructions from the page. Repeating the edit will gain you additional warnings and may lead to a block. لennavecia 20:47, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Lets try this again shall we? I have been on Wikipedia for a little while now and I have seen people blank that page and got away with it and you I think are giving a false warning about it. In fact I went through this just last week or the week before with another person on here and they stated that was not actually warnable so yes you gave me a false warning and i'm sorry but I strongly dissagree with that.--Chase25 (talk) 20:51, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Don't blank the sandbox. If others skip the warning because they realize the bot will reset the page within a few minutes, that's great for them. Sandbox edits only show up in Huggle when that template has been removed, as it's not supposed to be removed, which is clearly stated in the sentence below it. Removing the template is inappropriate for that reason. Thus, such blankings may result in a warning, whether you agree with it or not. If it was okay to be removed, there wouldn't be an edit window message telling you not to remove it. Or an administrator warning you not to do it again. لennavecia 20:54, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
ugh: how many times do I have to tell you I went through this issue last week and BLANKING THE SANDBOX is not warnable. even another user said that--Chase25 (talk) 20:58, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for informing me of your conversation from two days ago. I've been here for two years, and admin for one of those. Vandalising the sandbox is, with few exceptions, not a warnable offense. Blanking to template will, if from no one else, get you a warning from me. Don't blank the sandbox and you won't get anymore warnings. لennavecia 21:01, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

do me a favor go watch Dr. Phil and adjust your attitude.--Chase25 (talk) 21:04, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Dude. I totally watched Dr. Phil the other day. It was an episode about finances. According to him, I do well to manage my money, but I really need to think about my retirement. I'm glad you mentioned him, because I'd forgotten and need to get an investment account together. Ah, and I forgot to pick up a copy of my pay stub today, too. Arg. Thanks for the reminders! لennavecia 21:05, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

i'm glad to hear that why don't you go on there and tell him you like to falsely accuse people on Wikipedia and get some help with your attitude issue.--Chase25 (talk) 21:08, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Well. First, I don't think he'd care. Second, I didn't falsely warn you. Did you blank the sandbox? You did. Is it really so hard not to blank it again? Probably not. Lastly, I don't like your attitude either, but you don't see me harping on that. لennavecia 21:12, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Pardon me Missy but you did falsely warn me and I really think you're making a big deal on the sandbox issue because the soxbot always fixes it. Now go tell your mom you can't play on Wikipedia anymore until you adjust your attitude.--Chase25 (talk) 21:15, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

O, Tan. It's okay. I don't get upset about this stuff on my talk page.
Chase, uhm, you're on my talk page. I, sir, am not the one making a big deal of anything. If you do not want me to reply, you do not have to leave messages here. I'm also older than you, but if you really want, I can call my mama and tell her about this, but I'm not the one violating policies and ignoring warnings and notices, so I think I'll be "playing" on wiki for a while longer... plus, I don't think she'd understand what I'm talking about. She's not one to use the intrawebs. لennavecia 21:23, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
I wasn't implying you were upset or couldn't handle this yourself. Hell, I've seen you eviscerate unwitting editors who wander into your talk page with some petty or, in this case, patently false accusation. I just thought I'd jump in; maybe an uninvolved admin..., well, erhm, maybe I was just bored - ahem. Orange whip? Tan | 39 21:33, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Why am I here; don't we not like each other? Or was it you that didn't like my protection philosophies? Or am I projecting some other relationship, possibly that of me and my ex-wife, onto this? Or was it Malleus who doesn't like me and I just see him on here a lot? I need a drink. Tan | 39 21:48, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
I thought no one liked you... or maybe it's me that no one likes. Maybe no one likes either one of us. Can I have a sip? لennavecia 21:51, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

First of all. I apologize for getting so mad at you. But how were you able to figure out I was right?--Chase25 (talk) 21:51, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Well, I was being mostly facetious, but I did put the wrong warning on your page. Blanking the sandbox is a warnable offense, as noted in the template I found and posted to you. A much better option than a template that warns you not to vandalize or blank the sandbox and to instead do your test edits in the sandbox, which really... I mean, I think we can all agree, that makes no sense. I'll ask gurch to add this template to Huggle. That should end such confusion in the future. لennavecia 21:56, 12 January 2009 (UTC)

Jenna, Jenna, Jenna,

Why don't you have a meeting with the other admins and consider changing the policy on that--Chase25 (talk) 19:22, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Well, why would I want to? I'm not the one who spends my time on wikipedia vandalizing a sandbox! Sounds like something better placed on your to-do list. لennavecia 19:23, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

jenna Jenna jenna let's practice your listening skills Hmm?

I don't vandalize sandboxes i just use them to test things and as I said yesterday for the 1,0000,00th timee I do not see that as a warnable offense because its a sanfbox for god's sakes and people remove that line all the time and not get warnings about it. Now sweetie I'd love to say the same thing over and over if you'll excuse i have to go update some articles for the Radio Stations in my town because they have either switched formats or got sold.--Chase25 (talk) 19:31, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

I can't hear you, we're on the internet.
I have no problem with you editing articles, as long as you're not being disruptive. As far as using the sandbox for tests. I see you using it to test my patience.
Leave the header alone. And call me sweetie again, or anything else other than Jenna or Lara, and there may be further issues to deal with. لennavecia 19:33, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

I think you can take it as read that whatever personal information Jennevecia has chosen to reveal can be found on her user page. Where you will find a USAF userbox. Does that give you any clues? --Malleus Fatuorum 20:54, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
PS. I think that she has behaved with remarkable patience in the face of this patronising behaviour from children with too much time on their hands. With a lot more patience than I would have been able to muster, for sure. --Malleus Fatuorum 20:57, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Malleus has clue. Listen to him. لennavecia 21:49, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Curious

Hi Lara / Jenna,
Hope I catch you in, (noticed the semi-retired). I saw on the Sangler post that you said (or rather it's more accurate to say that I read to understand) that the particular RFC wasn't proper. I was wondering why it was an improper RfC? I'd rather learn from someone else's mistakes than my own (I don't appear quite as stupid that way ... LOL). Anyway, was just curious. hmmmm ... personalized smile huh ...I'm thinkin here ... "8D" ....ok, so I'll work on it. all my best Ched (talk) 17:12, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

I think I said it was misplaced, but I may have inadvertently mistyped. The question may be valid, but the location is wrong. Although, RFCs usually come after other discussion has failed to reach a consensus. This just came out of the blue, unless I missed something, which is possible. And, now that I think about it, this is more of an apparent personal disagreement with Wikipedia, rather than a content issue, which is what the process is for. لennavecia 17:28, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
OK .. I went back and read (re-read) all the stuff above the actual RfC's as well. It's more for impasse resolution than a general request for anyone to chip in. I think you typed it properly, I just didn't have a grasp of the intent of RFC. Thanks for taking the time to clear it up for me. Always something to learn here. All my best, Ched (talk) 18:48, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Talk page stalkers, ATTACK!

I hereby command you to at least semi-protect the page Cliff Bleszinski, which has been filled with defaming content, vandalism, and just plain stupid statements for more than a month! Tanisha Escobar (talk) 22:55, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

You don't have the right to command anybody here to do anything. If you want a page protected, list it at WP:RFPP--Jac16888Talk 22:58, 15 January 2009 (UTC)
Ok, but please get some admin to protect it. Also, does Lara still play Counter-Strike? Tanisha Escobar (talk) 23:05, 15 January 2009 (UTC)

Happy Jennavecia's Day!

Jennavecia has been identified as an Awesome Wikipedian,
and therefore, We've officially declared today as Jennavecia's day!
For being overly awesome,
enjoy being the Star of the day, Jennavecia!

Best Wishes,
The Cabal of Awesomeness
06:56, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

Um, cool. Thanks. I thought the BRC was the cabal of awesomeness, though!? >_> XD لennavecia 15:49, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
The Cabal of Awesomeness is who I say it is. – iridescent 16:11, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
So.... then who? لennavecia 16:13, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
Me. I don't think anyone else is awesome enough to compare. – iridescent 16:18, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
I beg to differ... just sayin'. لennavecia 16:27, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
Hmm… OK then, me and Kelly Martin. What is it with these high score tables appearing all of a sudden, anyway? Did we not hammer hard enough on the stake through Esperanza's heart? (This fine bit of bad timing did make me laugh, though.) – iridescent 16:41, 18 January 2009 (UTC)
Funnier than yer baby pics. لennavecia 16:47, 18 January 2009 (UTC)

No there are actually many awesome people around (though sadly awesomeness and tendency to leave this project seem to be correlated) Alas, not me, though what I lack in awesomeness, I make up in ... er... I'll get back to you on that one :| -- Gurch (talk) 23:13, 20 January 2009 (UTC)

Hugliness? – iridescent 23:23, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
ewwwww... -- Gurch (talk) 23:26, 20 January 2009 (UTC)
That is a god-awful word, Iri. Damn. Personally, I think Gurch is awesome, but I've told him this before. And to think, we met because he vandalized my cabal page... and stole my shortcut. XD لennavecia 03:50, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Actually if you take the "H" off the front it's about right :( -- Gurch (talk) 04:21, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Oh, shut up! Yer not ugly. And no self-loathing allowed on my talk page... unless it's me self-loathing! لennavecia 04:35, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Can we loathe other people on your talk page? --Jayron32.talk.contribs 06:03, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Yes, but not by name. >_> لennavecia 14:12, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
Can we loathe you? -- Gurch (talk) 16:10, 21 January 2009 (UTC)
You all wouldn't be the first. لennavecia 16:21, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

hello Jennavecia. Can you tell me why you deleted the page as I posted the content of the article on the discussion page to be helped building the article with a NPOV ? Thanks GregoryCouratier (talk) 14:29, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

It was previously deleted as spam earlier this month. You recreated the page with "==Horizon software==" then blanked the page. When the creator of a page blanks it, it is taken as a request to delete. If you want to recreate the page again, I recommend writing it in a subpage of your userspace, such as User:GregoryCouratier/Sandbox, and then asking if it is appropriate for the mainspace at either Requests for feedback or on the talk page of an established user. Keeping in mind that this is an encyclopedia and not a site for advertisements. لennavecia 15:01, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

I just wanted to say . . .

that you were a horrid admin and really mean person. You lacked focus, commitment and neutrality. I'm jolly glad you're semi-retired and I'll dance the day you're de-sysopped. But, in a spirit of fairness, it'll be a dance of your choice. X MarX the Spot (talk) 15:37, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

I've seen your dancing, it's crap. Why make a sad day even sadder? My only consolation is that you'll likely get blocked before Jennavecia gets desysopped. She's one of the few administrators I think wikipedia would actually miss. --Malleus Fatuorum 16:06, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
I was actually a really good admin. And I may have my mean moments... I don't know who you are, but I get the impression that you're an idiot, so I suppose that's your justification for calling me mean. I was not required to be focused here, to say I lacked commitment is just stupid as hell, and neutrality... well, I suppose it depended on the situation. I couldn't care less if you're jolly, but you can save the dancing for the day I retire, which may be today, and I recommend holding your breath until I'm desysoped... since it won't happen. I've never abused my tools, nor would I. Not to mention, it's practically impossible to desysop an admin here. I do plan to resign though, so you can dance for that too. But just know this... As I walk away from this place, you can kiss the view. لennavecia 18:13, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
I just wanted to say that Jennavecia is the most awesome person in the world, and anyone that says otherwise has their cranium up their anus. We love you Jennavecia! <3 --Jayron32.talk.contribs 18:57, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Hang on, let's not go overboard here. She did pretty well as an admin, but that's hardly a qualification for sanctification. "The most awesome person in the world" comment is interesting as well. How many of the Earth's 6.5 billion population do you actually know? Hardly any I'd guess, because your parents aren't happy to allow you out after it gets dark. Pleeezee. --Malleus Fatuorum 19:10, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
O, Malleus, you know when you are presented with one extreme, it's always appropriate to respond with the opposite extreme! لennavecia 19:25, 25 January 2009 (UTC)
Quack quack quack. 92.11.217.44 (talk) 19:29, 25 January 2009 (UTC)

Your mother. Mike H. Fierce! 01:33, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
I don't know who the eff JeanLatore is. Was I involved in his banning? Doesn't ring a bell and I don't give a shit, so I'm not going to check. لennavecia 05:14, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Hi Lara

I dropped a question at Ioeth's talk page. I saw the semi-retired heading, and the links on your user page as being wiki-gnome and wiki-fairy. That's why I asked at his page. Anyway - I see that you're still active, and I didn't want you to think I was avoiding talking to you personally or anything. Hope life is treating you well .. Ched (talk) 03:02, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Replied on Ioeth's talk. لennavecia 06:28, 26 January 2009 (UTC)

Dear Lara

Never had a chance to leave a message on your talk page (I think) since I've been here, so thought I'll use my final opportunity to do so. <3 Thank you for all your wonderful and valuable contributions. <3 For the limited period of time that I'm still stuck here, will miss ya. Take care, Ncmvocalist (talk) 06:09, 26 January 2009 (UTC) (P. S. Jennaveciawayyy! :P lol.)

Haha, thanks. لennavecia 06:28, 26 January 2009 (UTC)
