Hello, please not the article name. Regards --Serols (talk) 10:56, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Tamale Islamic Science Senior High School, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Information icon Hello, I'm Fakescientist8000. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Kingdom of Dagbon, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. One of the sources you used is unreliable. See WP:RS for more info on reliable sources Cheers, atque supra! Fakescientist8000 14:49, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for drawing my attention to that @Fakescientist8000, I did link back one Wikipedia page as a source, which would constitute circular referencing, plus one other you would contest sice it is affiliated to the kingdom. However, you would notice that I added multiple references, including sources from Cambridge, UNESCO and Oxford. If circular reference is removed, I believe the edit can still stand.
I can undo your revert and remove those references. Let me know if that is agreeable.
Thank you. Ihikky (talk) 15:04, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Control copyright icon Hello Ihikky! Your additions to Zosimli Naa have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 23:49, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @I dream of horses. Thanks for your message. I have sat down and rewritten this content. No single sentence matches with any of the sources. Plagiarism of original content is unacceptable. Quoting without quotations is not acceptable. Everything is paraphrased and expanded in detail. The roles have been dotted across the sources. If you had taken your time to go through the sources, you would have noticed that. Kindly revert your action. Thank you. Ihikky (talk) 23:57, 28 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Ihikky There were a couple of sentences that weren't really paraphrased, but perhaps I'm being overly cautious. There will be an admin to review whether or not the edits will be hidden from review, so there'll be an objective third party coming along anyways. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 00:00, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@I dream of horsesYou are right for being overly cautious. That's the best way content can stay neutral. I will go through the content to ensure there are no policy violations, while I await the admin review. Thank you. Ihikky (talk) 00:09, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Close paraphrasing is still a form of copyright violation, and there were instances of that in the article. Best practice is to simply write in your own words, and not to copy and reword text. -- Whpq (talk) 21:28, 29 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Tamale Islamic Science Senior High School

[edit]
Notice

The article Tamale Islamic Science Senior High School has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:GNG No Sign of Significant Importance

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist.
