Heya. Wikipedia:Administrators should answer most of your questions. An admin is actually just a normal editor that can do more stuff, like blocking users or deleting articles. This does not mean that an admin has anything to say over the content of an article, so you can't be an admin over a certain category, no. If you are an admin, you can use the additional features everywhere. There was some discussion about the possibilty to request just certain features, like page protection or article deletion, but currently you can only apply for the whole package of responsibility and work. --Conti|✉ 23:55, 18 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
How am I vandalising pages? I'm creating new pages to put into a category called Contributors to Economic Methodology. ~ACUMENSCH
Sorry if saying "Vandalism" sounded rude, but the articles you were creating did not have much sense to them. Instead of just creating blank pages to place them in a category, you should add some good useful content to the pages before creating them, and then you should mark them as a stub so other users will take note of the articles (and contribute to them in anyway they can). If you have any other questions or comments, feel free to post them here. Alan Talk - Contributions 21:46, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
How do I mark pages as stubs? Is there something wrong with creating pages and then elaborating on them later? Next time i will make them in word, and them paste them.
Go Here. Those are the different stub categories. clicking on one of them should tell you how to mark a page as a stub in that category. ;)
I appreciate it! SkerHawx 22:14, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- Also, a quick question if you have a sec -- the instructions seemed pretty straightforward, except that the user already had a sockpuppet - that's where I got confused ... the "manually change to Sockpuppet (2nd)..." What should I have done? Thanks again for the help! SkerHawx 22:21, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well he might've not had a sockpuppet case filed against him before. Lucky 6.9 probably just discovered it and investigated it himself. Also, say if there was a prior case against him, all you would have to do is change the link to the Sockpuppt Case to "Wikipedia:Suspected_sock_puppets/Hanna_Films (2nd)", and then edit from there. I hope this solves your problem. AlanTalk - Contributions 22:32, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- It does. Thanks again & have a good weekend. Cheers. SkerHawx 22:45, 21 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Iced_Kola/Archive Thank you very much for voting in my request for adminship. In the end, not many people let their opinion be known, and I didn't get the mop just yet. I have already begun acting on the issues brought up by the community, and will continue to do so. If you have any more suggestions for me, feel free to let me know.

Hi! I came across a few warning templates you left for editors that weren't substituted. Probably just an oversight, but if not, explore that link:-)--all user warning templates should be. By the way, I left some comments on {{longterm4im}} a few days ago at Wikipedia talk:Template messages/User talk namespace; wasn't sure if you noticed.--Fuhghettaboutit 00:46, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I noticed that you edited RAW to redirect to WWE Raw. Right before you made this edit, though, I changed the redirect to point to the disambiguation page Raw because RAW can refer to multiple things, not just WWE Raw. Just curious: what was the point of your edit? Were you running an automated bot or something? —MinorEdits 13:27, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- No. "RAW" is the trademark for WWE Raw, so I redirected it to point to "WWE Raw". Your edit makes more sense though =P. --Iced KolaT - C 20:47, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help in keeping the vandals at bay. Please would you also consider placing warnings on the user talk pages. The administrators patrolling WP:AIV will check to see if a user has been warned sufficiently before an account or IP will be blocked. By adding a notification you assist in blocking the vandals sooner.
Thanks

- I've already been apart of the CVU for a while, just look at my contributions =p. I c e d K o l a (Contributions) 03:18, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- No, the WVC has been submitted for community appraisal on whether it should remain or be deleted, at WP:MfD. Consensus is runnin strongly against it as a duplicate effort of CVU. StonedChipmunk, as creator, posted his position as delete which renderes the MfD automatically a speedy, and an administrator is now in the process of speedy deleting the pages in question. There is a huge difference between an editor submitting pages to MfD and something being "cancelled by two administrators". Please attempt to understand the workings of Wikipedia before commenting on them. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me on my talk page. KillerChihuahua?!? 12:39, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
- No no no... I placed the delete message because two admins told me it was a bad idea... technically, yes I canceled it, but two admins told me to do so. (The pages have already been deleted.) - StonedChipmunk 14:37, 8 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Immoral Nazi ideology should always be reported. If you do not get that , I am sorry for Wiki. I am even thinking of reportiong people like you, who pose as administrators and defend people who are contaminating Wiki with clear Nazi propaganda. To be honest, I worry very much about the possible contents of Wiki when I see what I see. Most users who have been following Thulean, me, Sugaar, Globe, Psichohistorian, etc, agree about his more than obvious Nazi Nordicist agenda and he is using this palce to spread it. What are we supposed to do? Not denounce it? Be quiet? And now you vandalize the discussion page and give warnings to others? There are people who are decent. When I see the most satanic of ideologies be treated as if it was just another opinion or viewpoint I get sick. Veritas et Severitas 03:51, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. You added a lowercase tag to this article. I don't agree that the correct title is eFax. In generic use, one would say "I got an e-fax today" or "I got an efax today", along the same lines as "e-mail" or "email". And the program referred to is called "efax". Only the fax service mentioned is called "eFax". Accordingly, I'll take the liberty of removing the tag. Rwxrwxrwx 12:28, 19 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

- It was recently vandalized by many different IP's, so I reverted that. As for adding to it, both pages seem to be alright right now, and I don't know much about the Naked Brothers Band. Sorry, have a nice day. ÂIced Kola(Mmm...) 22:08, 4 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but the original person who christened the Lusitania was Lady, Wieble Able Smith. But this wasn't a sucessful one, so it was redone by Mary, Lady Inverclyd. I'm sorry for the langauge.

Hi ... Thanks for the message on my talk page about the DL project. Since I don't know how to add a reply to a topic, I'm posting a reply here. I hope that's OK.
You say "{{Dl-s}}, unlike other dead link templates, goes after the dead link, not in place of it". I'm not clear under what circumstance I'm supposed to use each of the templates. Some of the links I'm fixing are embedded in paragraph, either as footnotes or just a link directly from the text in the paragraph. Many others are at the bottom of the article under external links. Can you give me some guidance?
- Hi again, Iced Kola. I think there's something amiss with the dlw template.
- Here's an example from the Khonnor article:
- Andres Lokko on making the Khonnor This is our music documentary. MTV This Is Our Music at the Wayback Machine (archive index)
- I don't know where the {{{2}}} is coming from. I think that's where the "MTV This Is Our Music" text should appear. Instead it appears between "Internet Archive" & "link" and the "MTV" disappears completely.
- Otoh, it worked for me as expected in the Jens Lekman article:
- Schreiber, Ryan, "Jens Lekman Scraps Second Album, Goes on Hiatus", Pitchfork Media, 12/16/2005. Pitchfork Media article at the Wayback Machine (archive index)
- Also, the template generates a couple of blank lines at the end. Is this intentional?
- {{{2}}} is where the caption goes. For example, if you're linking to a news site, and the name of the article you're linking to is "Wikipedia rocks", than you would put "Wikipedia rocks" in {{{2}}}. Template:Dlw should tell you all about how to use the template. ÂIced Kola(Mmm...) 01:45, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- I think I'm using the template properly since I was able to get it to work as expected in the Jens Lekman article (see above). For some reason, when I used it with the mtve.com link in the Khonnor article, it didn't come out right. Would you mind taking a look at how I use them above to see if you can see what's going wrong? Should I be directing these questions to someone else? Are you the author of the template?
- Thanks again for your assistance. Sanfranman59 07:26, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
- Nevermind ... I just realized that I should have looked at the Template:Dlw Talk page. There's a note in there that if there are = in the URL, they have to be replaced with %3D. Hmmm. Sorry to clutter up your page. I'm trying to learn the ropes around here. Some of it is a bit esoteric. Sanfranman59 07:37, 9 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Sorry for the blatant spam, but you have yourself down as active at WikiProject user warnings WP:UW. There is a discussion on going here that might be of interest to you about the future of this project. There are two strawpolls on the talk pages and the second one is about the future of the WP:UW project. Now we have the end in sight we are looking at wrapping up the project and merging it with Template messages/User talk namespace WP:UTM and creating a one stop shop for all userspace template issue. As you are or have been active on this project we feel you may have some input on this issue, and would like you to visit the discussion and give any thoughts you may have on the matter. Special note to spamlist users: Apologies for the formatting issues in previous issues. This only recently became a problem due to a change in HTML Tidy; however, I am to blame on this issue. Sorry, and all messages from this one forward should be fine (I hope!) -Ral315
