- @Vchimpanzee, this is the milder end of vandalism; I suppose the AIV report can wait until you get back. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 18:56, 30 October 2021 (UTC)
- Regardless of your opinion, once a person has simply put inappropriate content in an article seven times, it's time to take action. I suspect there is a reliable source somewhere for that name or a similar one, but the person is simply putting it the lede unsourced.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 15:52, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
- @Vchimpanzee, regardless of your opinion, I can't actually do anything, except tell you to go talk to them, ping them or direct you where to go to get the attention of people who can Do Something, so...yeah, not sure what to tell you. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 17:03, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
- Understood. I submitted a report but WP:AIV wasn't the place to go since it wasn't clearly vandalism. I tried to be as fair as possible because all of the edits if properly sourced would have been possibly constructive farther down in the article, but unlikely to be accepted.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 17:05, 31 October 2021 (UTC)
- Update: Tbake293 did come back, and did protest on the talk page, but this person's new edits weren't really any better, and after I reported the person, there was a block.— Vchimpanzee • talk • contributions • 17:23, 1 November 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hi User Talk.
I do have a file and some resources that can be used to back up what I am saying in my most recent updates. If you want to edit the remarks to make the piece more neutral or double check what I'm saying, that's fine with me.
I can send the file to your email address if you want to see the info for yourself.
See if you are able to permit me to update the stub or offer some assistance from the team.
Thanks: Michael

- Are you talking about a physical file or a digital one? I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 20:27, 6 November 2021 (UTC)
Digital. I have PDFs, Digital News Articles, YouTube videos, Local Media Websites(if not more. I'll have to double check everything I compiled).
You can contact me at michaelsalzillo17@gmail.com and I'll get it all to you there.
Happy to help out however I can. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 100.10.21.190 (talk) 22:08, 6 November 2021 (UTC)

Hello, I just read your message. This is my first contribute to Wikipedia. I work for Fulvio Bonavia and I just wanted to update his biography since the present one was edit from one of his agent more than 10 years ago. There are a lot of informations about his carrier that are missing. In particularly many awards, like "Fine art photographer of the year in US", books and exhibitions. I also would like to update all the external links and add all the list of the awards and recognitions. Many thanks for your help. Kristina KRadic (talk) 18:21, 7 November 2021 (UTC)
- So, here's how to edit in a way that's ethical and in compliance with Federal Trade Commission Law and Wikipedia's Terms of Usage:
- Write that you work for Fulvio Bonavia here.
- Use {{requested edit}} on the article talk page so everything can be evaluated by another editor for neutrality and proper sourcing. --I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 18:26, 7 November 2021 (UTC)

[edit]I wanted to ask you a question regarding the page I wrote Nacsport Video Analysis Software. You recently did a big edit, deleting more than half of the article, and I was just wondering why? I realise that this information was unsourced, but I think it is important to the understanding of how the software works. I also realise that it is quite technical, but analysts working in the niche that the software is aimed at will understand all the info presented. Lastly, I used the software pages Ableton Live and Cubase as a guide for the creation of this page. Both of these pages present their information in a similar fashion to how I did with Nacsport. So, yes, I would appreciate it if you would take another look at the Nacsport page, the edit you made, and let me know your thoughts, as I would like to restore it.
Just as an aside, are you a fan of Belle and Sebastian? Your user name reminds of their song "Judy and Her Dream of Horses".
Anyway, I look forward to hearing your reply,
Many thanks,
talkDuncRitchie (talk) 08:40, 8 November 2021 (UTC)
- @DuncRitchie Not only were they unsourced, they also read more like a combination of a promotional pamphlet and an instructional pamphlet; Wikipedia is neither, per these two sections on what Wikipedia is not. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 22:57, 8 November 2021 (UTC)

- There's so much on Wikipedia that we can't keep up with it, so you'll find plenty of low-quality articles. That doesn't mean those articles should exist as they are. It just means that they fell through the cracks. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 05:32, 12 November 2021 (UTC)

guidance request
[edit]Hello, good day, I am editing articles related to Iranian artists. Most of them have problems such as not having a proper link and writing format problems that I will fix. But many of them do not have the conditions to stay in Wikipedia at all. I want to request removal for them. What is the written algorithm for removal request? many of these articles were created for abuse, and the person who owns the article does not have the credentials of prominence at all! I know the rules of Wikipedia and I have worked on Wikipedia before, but now the rules and codes have changed, I now need the writing code (request to delete article - candidate to delete article) Iranianbio (talk) 12:34, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Iranianbio, most of the time, you can use procedural deletion or an article for deletion discussion. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 21:32, 16 November 2021 (UTC)
Thanks
[edit]In response to your ping: Thanks for the vote of confidence on auto-patrolled. I do appreciate random patrollers occasionally coming to see if I missed something obvious and/or tag the page, but I also think that any articles I make are fairly unlikely to be deletable, so there's something to be said for keeping the patrolling focused on the problem cases. Anyway, that's all. I'll just add while checking the linked tools I got to be reminded of Special:Log?page=Governorate_of_the_the_Río_de_la_Plata_and_of_Paraguay , an ancient G7-self deletion... spot the problem! SnowFire (talk) 07:21, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
- @SnowFire The problem is that the page doesn't exist. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 07:25, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
- Huh, guess that can't be linked easily. Ah well, Governorate of the the Río de la Plata and of Paraguay, then. (It's nothing special, just a typo.) SnowFire (talk) 07:26, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
- @SnowFire If there's a typo (I can't see it), perhaps a redirect is in order. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 17:47, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
- Sorry, guess I've killed the joke at this point. There's two "the"s in a row there - I didn't notice it either when I made that, "Governorate of the the...". I too was baffled at first when seeing this in my deleted article creations and figured I'd mention it, but alas! SnowFire (talk) 17:55, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
- @SnowFire Of course, visual editor didn't show the deletion, but thankfully the source editor did. Anyways, I've added a redirect myself, since others might make the same mistake. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 17:59, 19 November 2021 (UTC)
- Hmm, you sure? I don't think repeated "the"s are that often kept at RFD, they'd call it an implausible typo, which is why I submitted it myself for deletion before immediately after I created it accidentally... that said, not a big deal either way. SnowFire (talk) 18:06, 19 November 2021 (UTC)

Recently, I added highly meritorious references to the wiki page on Autophagy under Inflammation sjubsection and they were removed with a message to me. I think it's a loss for Wikipedia, as the infomration is rather obscure. I provided 2-3 modest sentences clarifying this important area, and given you key references in the field. Currently you have a 2016 reference, quite dated and also miss some of the seminal references and concepts, including references by the deceased Beth Levine, a giant in the field of autophagy, who provided so much for the field. It's up to you, but I'd restore those changes.

review for Bi Ghanoon
[edit]Hi, I created an article called "Bi Ghanoon" that article was reviewed by you and you told me the problems of that article, a user:bonadea deleted my article for no reason, I rebuilt the article and linked I added some articles from the national newspaper of Iran and the state news agency of Iran to it, and this film won three awards. The article automatically entered the main space, but a user who is hostile to me entered it into my space. Please see the article again because I did not enter the article in the main space and it must be returned to the main space, I fixed the problems you had doubts about the links, thank you. Iranianbio (talk) 16:48, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Iranianbio Well, you've notified bonadea through linking their userpage, so I'm sure they will be here soon enough. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 17:59, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Iranianbio:, what happened was this: you created Draft:Bee Ghanoon (film) on 14 November and submitted it for review; I dream of horses reviewed it on the same day and declined it, because the sources did not show notability. Instead of editing the draft and resubmitting it, you moved it to mainspace and after that, you added a couple of references. I moved it back to draftspace yesterday, because it was still not sourced, and some of it was hard to understand. (I posted to your user talk page about that.) You immediately moved it back to mainspace, another editor moved it to draftspace again, and I restored the decline notice. At least three editors have asked you not to create articles in mainspace or move drafts there. Instead of editing and resubmitting Draft: Bee Ghanoon (film), you created Bi Ghanoon in mainspace. It is about the same film, and it had the exact same problems as the previous draft. The sources did not show that it was notable. The only thing I did was move Bi Ghanoon to draftspace and redirect it to Draft:Bee Ghanoon (film). Feel free to edit that draft, but please do not move it to mainspace. Regards, --bonadea contributions talk 21:19, 21 November 2021 (UTC)
A message from Chippiteas
[edit]Hi, there!
Thank you for your messages. I am not being paid to make a wikipedia page. Thanks!
Chippiteas (talk) 03:43, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Chippiteas, please explain this edit summary: "[...]For verification please visit our corporate website[...]" Are you editing the article about your employer on company time? Have you been told by your boss to edit the article? Do you own the company? Then there's a financial incentive to edit the article you're editing, and you need to disclose such on your userpage to comply with Wikipedias' Terms of Use and Federal Trade Commission law. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 03:51, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
Hi, actually no, my employer has not told me to change anything. If you won't allow me then please do it yourself to update the article since it's super old. once again. NO ONE told me to update it but it's for twitter verification. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chippiteas (talk • contribs) 03:54, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Chippiteas: So why is Twitter verification needed? I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 03:55, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
if you want a blue checkmark on the side of your name options are as follows: 1. Google Trends 2. Wikipedia Page 3. Public Stock Exchange
So we're still fixing the google trend and if that fails we need a backup. So I opted to update the wiki page. So if you don't want my help then update the article to that you can actaully help instead of chatting with me here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chippiteas (talk • contribs) 03:59, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Chippiteas I'm trying to ascertain whether or not you actually need to disclose. This is probably more helpful than you realize.
- Who is "we?" I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 04:02, 22 November 2021 (UTC)
- I believe Chippiteas is trying to get a stable Wikipedia page for his company so they can get a verified Twitter account (Blue tick beside their twitter account id). See here under the Companies, brands, and organizations section, stable Wikipedia articles that meet the encyclopedia’s notability standards. If this is the intended goal, this is obvious COI.
- Chippiteas' task is probably to get the blue tick for their company twitter account, Wikipedia is just a means to this end. --Justanothersgwikieditor (talk) 07:19, 23 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Justanothersgwikieditor, right, too bad they weren't willing to honestly answer my questions. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 16:39, 23 November 2021 (UTC)

Battle of Fornovo
[edit]Hello, I would like to point out that the page battle of Fornovo has been recently hijacked by a user, “Kansas Bear”, who rewrote it with a very clear bias. While most sources (including several he himself cited in the discussion held in the talk page) describe the outcome of the battle as either inconclusive, disputed, or at best a hard-fought French tactical victory which allowed Charles to save his army from encirclement and destruction, this user has presented it as a “French triumph”, with Italian troops being scattered and destroyed in a few minutes (whereas all sources state that the fighting lasted all day), omitting the fact that the entire loot and baggage train of the French army were captured by the Italian league and that Charles quietly withdrew at night during a truce that had been called to bury the dead, hardly the behaviour of someone who had “triumphed”. Additionally, this user has cherry-picked a single source claiming a ridiculously low casualty figure for the French (only 100 killed vs 3,500 on the Italian side) when all sources agree that, while French casualties were lower than those suffered by the Italians, were no less than one thousand in the most optimistic estimate (likewise, the high end estimates have been picked for the Italian stength, which ranged betwen 14,000 and 20,000 but is here presented as 20,000). This user has either ignored or removed all sources that don’t fit his narrative (that is, most), reverted all edits adding more sources and details, and refused, in the past, any discussion about the edit he has done. Can anything be done about it? Could you help in any way? Before you tell me to try to discuss with him or to report him for edit war (which describes his activity extremely well), I will tell you that I won’t, for a very simple reason: the former would be pointless – others have already tried discussing with him on the talk page, to no avail – and the latter as well, as I know well this kind of user, who has been disgracefully made into an admin for unexplainable reasons. He will keep reverting, secure the support of some other admin friend, game the rules to his own advantage, and avoid any discussion or change from his edits, instead having me banned. I know very well this will happen, and in that case, that will be the end of my activity here, for I am tired of seeing an individual being allowed to blatantly violate Wikipedia’s rules and make a travesty of history at his whim. --Jannizzero1 (talk) 22:54, 23 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Jannizzero1 1. Mind adding paragraphs in your wall of text? Otherwise, I can't read much of it.
- 2. Consider @Kansas Bear notified of the above. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 01:56, 24 November 2021 (UTC)
- Disappointing. But I guess I should have expected that. --Jannizzero1 (talk) 08:12, 24 November 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hi I Dream of Horses,
I wanted to update my own Wiki page but would be happy if someone else does it for me. However, people often get my sporting history wrong/or confused. I'm going to try again and edit it and if you still think it isn't neutral enough I'm sure you'll let me know- hope we can work together to update it.
Many thanks,
Hannah Paracycling expert (talk) 18:40, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
- @Paracycling expert, both @Dl2000 and I have noticed your edits have been less than neutral. The fact that the article is about you would certainly explain why. I will put a conflict of interest notice on your talk page, and would suggest you use the {{requested edit}} template on the article talk page for now on. I dream of horses (Contribs) (Talk) 18:43, 28 November 2021 (UTC)
Hi Dream of Horses,
Right, ok. I've edited it again and cited everything I wrote. I need to increase the accuracy but do not disagree that I have a COI. Also, while we're at it- the RaceRunning page (should be two capital Rs) on Wikipedia is written by individuals who benefit financially from citing their company who produce frames. PS I don't mind if my articles are not on there but as they were already cited I wanted to add them properly - ie my climate crisis work and disability activism. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paracycling expert (talk • contribs) 19:03, 28 November 2021 (UTC)

- @Eloiseattheplaza If I were to hazard a guess, it's because most logos are fully copyrighted and we don't company owners to change their mind about having it hosted on Wikipedia and sue us without warning. Because of that, all logos are hosted under fair use, or are determined to be under the threshold of originality (that is, anyone can recreate it on a moments' whim).
