Image Tagging Image:Prioriincantatem.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Prioriincantatem.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. feydey 00:27, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

Image Use
[edit]Hpfan - Thank you for your contributions to the HP Project pages. Please be aware however that most of the images you have uploaded include false or inappropriate copyright information, and little or no source information. Such images are clearly disallowed in the Image Use guidelines. For example, the various Wand images you uploaded were taken from a commercial web site, for the purpose of that web site to be selling wands and other items, and cannot be used in the Wikipedia. If you wish, you can try adding an External Link (but not the images) for the Noble Collection web site that sells those wands, at the bottom of the List of wands in Harry Potter page, and see if that passes muster. Please understand that such links and advertisement images are usually found on Fan pages and other COMMERCIAL web sites, and fees are paid to do so, based on web site traffic. The Wikipedia is not to be used as a sales platform for a commercial web site, which is how some of your edits regarding the wands were presented. Thank you for your understanding, and let us know if you need assistance with properly uploading and crediting the sources of copyrighted images, and choosing appropriate ones for those Wiki pages your would like to see improved. --T-dot 01:09, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Thanks for experimenting with Wikipedia. The links you added to the page Harry Potter (character) have been removed. Please do not add commercial links—or links to your own private websites—to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. Note that Wikipedia may see print or DVD publication, so we want more content, not more web links. See the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. — NathanHP (T • C • W) 07:47, 23 March 2006 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:DumbledoreswandinGoF.jpg
[edit]This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:DumbledoreswandinGoF.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).
The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}
.
Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, or ask them at the Image legality questions page. Thank you. -SCEhardT 22:52, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

Pirates
[edit]Look, Boxofficemojo.com is hardly reputable anymore. Anyone that registers can add to their site, and they usually just post the initial reports that are released and never update their information, and provide no sources. The-numbers.com provides sources and is usually closer in accuracy than BOM. BOM still lists Superman Returns with a 260 million dollar budget, yet Singer has already debunked this. BOM also has Pirates 3 budget at 225 million (the same number as Dead Man's Chest, ironically) and yet the movie is still being filmed. If it's still being filmed then the budget could be more or less than that. Please stop using BOM.com as your source, they have already been deemed unreliable on other film information, no need to think they would start being so now. No one else is reporting this 225 million number. Bignole 23:56, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia.. Although you updated Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest with the correct worldwide box office figures, by blanking out US/Canada, the UK and Australian numbers, you actually harmed the article more than you helped it. IN the future, if you would like to update this article, please take the time to update the entire entry - and change the date where appropriate. - Davodd 01:39, 3 August 2006 (UTC)

Hi! I've reverted your edits to Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (film). You stated that it has been confirmed that the film will last over two hours; are you able to provide a reference for this? Also, we can hardly list all the release dates which have already been confirmed. The release date for Spain is relevant on the Spanish Wikipedia, but not here. Thanks, Pruneautalk 23:33, 31 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit]Hi - please don't keep making the same edit to the article. Article just ends up being reverted continually. Instead, could you enter into a discussion on the article's talk page? Many thanks. --Oscarthecat 22:10, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
Negligence
[edit]Would you please be more careful with your editing. I have warned you before about using Boxofficemojo.com as a source, especially when it hasn't been verified by anyone else. Trying to weasel your way around it is not going to help you. Also, please refrain from adding redundant material to pages. Pirates 2 already states that it was the fastest to 1 billion, and it states it's current take, there is no reason to restate that information in other sections. I've removed the "most successful stores" section you placed, as it reflects a non-neutral point of view. I'd suggest either indicating other stores that are in the mall, or to leave it alone in that regard. Thanks. --Mhking 22:23, 28 December 2006 (UTC)
I've revised the article to track the development of the film more clearly, and I've removed some unreliable information. First of all, nothing reliable suggests that Stephen Sommers was responsible for writing the initial script. The sources that I found saying this were not reliable. In addition, I've found nothing to show that Sommers is likely to return as director for the film. The helm is currently offered to Joe Johnston, who hasn't officially accepted or declined the offer. Finally, there's no release date that's been announced. The Internet Movie Database tends to attach a random release year to all upcoming films -- have you ever seen a "Movie (TBA)"? It's not even guaranteed that production will begin in 2007. Hope you understand the changes I've made. —Erik (talk • contrib) - 17:03, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article CONCEPT 5, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. Orphaned fair use image (Image:A&F Winter 2006 Advertisement.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:A&F Winter 2006 Advertisement.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. A&F Fragrances
[edit]A&F Fragrances is not suitable as an encyclopedia article. It is only copied promotional statements and copied photographs. It's all a copyvio, except for the first few lines which are unsourced POV. Unless you can find some 3rd-party sources and remove the copyvios I'll delete the article this evening. -Will Beback · † · 22:23, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
- I second Will's statement, and was on my way here to say essentially the same thing. The article seemingly serves no purpose but to repeat Abercrombie's descriptions of its own products. That is not encyclopedic, and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for promotion or advertisement. · j e r s y k o talk · 22:48, 6 February 2007 (UTC)
Images - Logos
[edit]Please don't mislabel images as logos when they aren't logos. Our articles on Logos should make the distinction clear. Photos are never logos. -Will Beback · † · 20:08, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
