Undefeated MMA Fighters
@HeinzMaster I'm still getting the hang of this whole editing and talking thing, but I came here to say that I personally won't be adding/don't think we should add every single undefeated bum on the regional scene. I tend to not add people who haven't fought in a long time, or if they are still unknowns. I did add a TON of those people when I first discovered the page a few weeks ago, but from now on I most likely wont be adding too many people (even if I have a whole list of them). Just wanted to let you know since you messaged me on my profile and seem to be one of the only people that actively edits the page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dr. Chaotic (talk • contribs) 18:59, 10 February 2022 (UTC)

WP:AFC Helper News
Hello! I wanted to drop a quick note for all of our AFC participants; nothing huge and fancy like a newsletter, but a few points of interest.
- AFCH will now show live previews of the comment to be left on a decline.
- The template {{db-afc-move}} has been created - this template is similar to {{db-move}} when there is a redirect in the way of an acceptance, but specifically tells the patrolling admin to let you (the draft reviewer) take care of the actual move.
Short and sweet, but there's always more to discuss at WT:AFC. Stop on by, maybe review a draft on the way? Whether you're one of our top reviewers, or haven't reviewed in a while, I want to thank you for helping out in the past and in the future. Cheers, Primefac, via MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 16:00, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
media scoring
Hi Heinz, if the bout is not a controversial then we dont need to put the media scoring in the body text. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia talk 21:48, 16 February 2022 (UTC)
- @Cassiopeia: Okay sorry, was just adding them for all split decisions, will just do so now if the fighter with less media scores wins the bout. Sorry once again HeinzMaster (talk) 00:42, 17 February 2022 (UTC)
- Hi Heinz, nothing to be sorry about. I wrote just FYI. If the split decision raised questions (controversial) then we can add the media scoring in, if not just "won/lost via ...." would do in the text. For example Izzy vs. Whitakker 2 fight, there are media and mma ananylist/critics indicated Rob won 3/5 rounds, we can add the media scoring on this bot. Thank you so much for editing mma articles, you have no idea how much you have help on this project. You contribution is very much appreciated. Stay safe Heinz and best. Speedy deletion nomination of Vugar Karamov
A tag has been placed on Vugar Karamov requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Speedy deletion nomination of Jason Witt (disambiguation)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Jason Witt (disambiguation) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G14 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a disambiguation page which either
- disambiguates only one extant Wikipedia page and whose title ends in "(disambiguation)" (i.e., there is a primary topic);
- disambiguates zero extant Wikipedia pages, regardless of its title; or
- is an orphaned redirect with a title ending in "(disambiguation)" that does not target a disambiguation page or page that has a disambiguation-like function.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such pages may be deleted at any time. Please see the disambiguation page guidelines for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Peter Queally
Hey man, I noticed that we both had articles about Peter Queally. Given that I created mine prior to yours, and that two articles are unnecessary (also neither is likely to be accepted given his lack of notability) I have made the decision to ‘delete’ your article and compile all the information into mine. Is this okay? I figured it would be because you took the majority of the references, mma record, articles and text from my article to begin with, and also you have a lot of other articles on your plate, so I was trying to make life easier for you. Please reply if you have any issues or would like help with any other articles. Kind regards, (FFCETT77 (talk) 23:26, 19 April 2022 (UTC))
- I don't really care, I made the articles the same, but at the same time I created/added most of the content in my article in November of last year and you created this new one in March of this year, so I don't see how I took the majority of anything from your article. New Page Patrol newsletter May 2022
Hello HeinzMaster,
At the time of the last newsletter (No.26, September 2021), the backlog was 'only' just over 6,000 articles. In the past six months, the backlog has reached nearly 16,000, a staggering level not seen in several years. A very small number of users had been doing the vast majority of the reviews. Due to "burn-out", we have recently lost most of this effort. Furthermore, several reviewers have been stripped of the user right for abuse of privilege and the articles they patrolled were put back in the queue.
Several discussions on the state of the process have taken place on the talk page, but there has been no action to make any changes. The project also lacks coordination since the "position" is vacant.
In the last 30 days, only 100 reviewers have made more than 8 patrols and only 50 have averaged one review a day. There are currently 804 New Page Reviewers, but about a third have not had any activity in the past month. All 853 administrators have this permission, but only about a dozen significantly contribute to NPP.
This means we have an active pool of about 450 to address the backlog. We cannot rely on a few to do most of the work as that inevitably leads to burnout. A fairly experienced reviewer can usually do a review in a few minutes. If every active reviewer would patrol just one article per day, the backlog would very quickly disappear.
If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, do suggest they help the effort by placing {{subst:NPR invite}}
on their talk page.
If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.
To opt-out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.

HeinzMaster (talk) 17:48, 4 June 2022 (UTC)Hi Heinz Master, Good day. When move/change the page name from from UFN XXX to the new event name such as you have done in UFC Fight Night 208 to UFC Fight Night: Tsarukyan vs. Gamrot, pls "ALWAYS" keep the check for "Leave a redirect behind" and "Move associated talk page". So anyone type UFC Fight Night 208 will also be redirect to UFC Fight Night: Tsarukyan vs. Gamrot. However, if the name changed from UFN to UFC on ABC or UFN to UFC on ESPN and the following UFN event names need to push out to the next number, we would do it differently. Thank you. New Page Patrol newsletter June 2022
Hello HeinzMaster,
- Backlog status
At the time of the last newsletter (No.27, May 2022), the backlog was approaching 16,000, having shot up rapidly from 6,000 over the prior two months. The attention the newsletter brought to the backlog sparked a flurry of activity. There was new discussion on process improvements, efforts to invite new editors to participate in NPP increased and more editors requested the NPP user right so they could help, and most importantly, the number of reviews picked up and the backlog decreased, dipping below 14,000[a] at the end of May.
Since then, the news has not been so good. The backlog is basically flat, hovering around 14,200. I wish I could report the number of reviews done and the number of new articles added to the queue. But the available statistics we have are woefully inadequate. The only real number we have is the net queue size.[b]
In the last 30 days, the top 100 reviewers have all made more than 16 patrols (up from 8 last month), and about 70 have averaged one review a day (up from 50 last month).
While there are more people doing more reviews, many of the ~730 with the NPP right are doing little. Most of the reviews are being done by the top 50 or 100 reviewers. They need your help. We appreciate every review done, but please aim to do one a day (on average, or 30 a month).
- Backlog drive
A backlog reduction drive, coordinated by buidhe and Zippybonzo, will be held from July 1 to July 31. Sign up here. Barnstars will be awarded.
- TIP – New school articles
Many new articles on schools are being created by new users in developing and/or non-English-speaking countries. The authors are probably not even aware of Wikipedia's projects and policy pages. WP:WPSCH/AG has some excellent advice and resources specifically written for these users. Reviewers could consider providing such first-time article creators with a link to it while also mentioning that not all schools pass the GNG and that elementary schools are almost certainly not notable.
- Misc
There is a new template available, {{NPP backlog}}
, to show the current backlog. You can place it on your user or talk page as a reminder:
Very high unreviewed pages backlog: 11919 articles, as of 12:00, 10 November 2024 (UTC), according to DatBot
There has been significant discussion at WP:VPP recently on NPP-related matters (Draftification, Deletion, Notability, Verifiability, Burden). Proposals that would somewhat ease the burden on NPP aren't gaining much traction, although there are suggestions that the role of NPP be fundamentally changed to focus only on major CSD-type issues.
- Reminders
- Consider staying informed on project issues by putting the project discussion page on your watchlist.
- If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, suggest they help the effort by placing
{{subst:NPR invite}}
on their talk page. - If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.

Autopatrolled granted
Hi HeinzMaster, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the "autopatrolled" permission to your account, as you have created numerous, valid articles. This feature will have no effect on your editing, and is simply intended to reduce the workload on new page patrollers. For more information on the autopatrolled right, see Wikipedia:Autopatrolled. However, you should consider adding relevant wikiproject talk-page templates, stub-tags and categories to new articles that you create if you aren't already in the habit of doing so, since your articles will no longer be systematically checked by other editors (User:Evad37/rater and User:SD0001/StubSorter.js are useful scripts which can help). Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! – Joe (talk) 15:53, 24 June 2022 (UTC)

HeinzMaster (talk) 00:07, 26 June 2022 (UTC)New page reviewer granted
Hi HeinzMaster. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers
" user group. Please check back at WP:PERM in case your user right is time limited or probationary. This user group allows you to review new pages through the Curation system and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or nominate them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is vital to maintaining the integrity of the encyclopedia. If you have not already done so, you must read the tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the deletion policy. If you need any help or want to discuss the process, you are welcome to use the new page reviewer talk page. In addition, please remember:
- Be nice to new editors. They are usually not aware that they are doing anything wrong. Do make use of the message feature when tagging pages for maintenance so that they are aware.
- You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted. Please be formal and polite in your approach to them – even if they are not.
- If you are not sure what to do with a page, don't review it – just leave it for another reviewer.
- Accuracy is more important than speed. Take your time to patrol each page. Use the message feature to communicate with article creators and offer advice as much as possible.
The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you also may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In cases of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, or long-term inactivity, the right may be withdrawn at administrator discretion. – Joe (talk) 13:00, 1 July 2022 (UTC)

This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tofiq Musayev (2nd nomination). When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Your AfDs
I certainly hope that your tsunami of AfD nominations is not retaliation born from the frustration of having Tofiq Musayev deleted as that would be extremely pointy and disruptive. Please reply prior to making any further edits.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:31, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
- Well, you're still at it. I've partially blocked you from Wikipedia (and it's talk) space for 24 hours in order to allow you to rethink your approach and curb the disruption your mass nominations are causing. I'm hoping that will be enough time for you to reassess how you want to proceed on this project.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:35, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
- I saw your message and stopped. I'm sorry I didn't see the notification right away, but that situation had nothing to do with it. I did a similar batch of AfD nominations on the 12th of July. I would greately appreciate it if you rescended that ban.HeinzMaster (talk) 22:39, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
- No, I have done it before that occured. HeinzMaster (talk) 22:33, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
- Given this edit as well as these ones that preempted the mass nominations, this certainly appears retailiatory. Given the speed of the nominations, there is no way you could have been following WP:BEFORE. You are free to request a block review.-- Jezebel's Ponyobons mots 22:41, 22 July 2022 (UTC)
- I google the names before hand and lineup a bunch of articles all at once that I am gonna fill out the AfD nom for. Like I noted, I did something similar on the 12 of July. I have seen Sportsfan 1234 do similar things where he nominated many articles at the same time. May I inquire what is the acceptable amount of articles that can be nominated in a certain time span. - Hey Heinz, PLEASE DONT GO. I am sorry I was not around for the last few days when you wrote to me on my talk page. I understand your frustration for I at times feel the same and have seen some good editors leaving for other reasons which was such a lost to Wikipedia. However, Wikipedia is not perfect and certain guidelines we might not agree on but that is the guidelines we need to adhere to. Maybe just stop creating UFC fighters pages for a while but you still can edit on existing fighters and MMA event pages. We collaborate extremely well in all our dealing especially in The list of current UFC fighters page and there are many non UFC pages you can contribute. You are so easy to work with, civil, good teamwork, so dedicate, passionate of your work. I have been dealing with you since you started editing Wikipedia and I will be checked on you so PLEASE STAY. Be safe and well. Cassiopeia talk 10:00, 26 July 2022 (UTC)

New Page Patrol newsletter August 2022
Hello HeinzMaster,
- Backlog status
After the last newsletter (No.28, June 2022), the backlog declined another 1,000 to 13,000 in the last week of June. Then the July backlog drive began, during which 9,900 articles were reviewed and the backlog fell by 4,500 to just under 8,500 (these numbers illustrate how many new articles regularly flow into the queue). Thanks go to the coordinators Buidhe and Zippybonzo, as well as all the nearly 100 participants. Congratulations to Dr vulpes who led with 880 points. See this page for further details.
Unfortunately, most of the decline happened in the first half of the month, and the backlog has already risen to 9,600. Understandably, it seems many backlog drive participants are taking a break from reviewing and unfortunately, we are not even keeping up with the inflow let alone driving it lower. We need the other 600 reviewers to do more! Please try to do at least one a day.
- Coordination
- MB and Novem Linguae have taken on some of the coordination tasks. Please let them know if you are interested in helping out. MPGuy2824 will be handling recognition, and will be retroactively awarding the annual barnstars that have not been issued for a few years.
- Open letter to the WMF
- The Page Curation software needs urgent attention. There are dozens of bug fixes and enhancements that are stalled (listed at Suggested improvements). We have written a letter to be sent to the WMF and we encourage as many patrollers as possible to sign it here. We are also in negotiation with the Board of Trustees to press for assistance. Better software will make the active reviewers we have more productive.
- TIP - Reviewing by subject
- Reviewers who prefer to patrol new pages by their most familiar subjects can do so from the regularly updated sorted topic list.
- New reviewers
- The NPP School is being underused. The learning curve for NPP is quite steep, but a detailed and easy-to-read tutorial exists, and the Curation Tool's many features are fully described and illustrated on the updated page here.
- Reminders
- Consider staying informed on project issues by putting the project discussion page on your watchlist.
- If you have noticed a user with a good understanding of Wikipedia notability and deletion, suggest they help the effort by placing
{{subst:NPR invite}}
on their talk page. - If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be part of the New Page Reviewer user group, please consider asking any admin to remove you from the list. This will enable NPP to have a better overview of its performance and what improvements need to be made to the process and its software.

Speedy deletion nomination of Category:Uganadan male mixed martial artists
A tag has been placed on Category:Uganadan male mixed martial artists indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. Disappointment
HeinMaster, it is disappointed to know that after all the links/guidelines provided, you are same as other mma editors who doesnt want to read nor want to know or care about Wikipedia guidelines. The Wikipedia policy has removed the sportsman who merely participate in the sport from passing Wikipedia guidelines, and also NPSPORT has remove fighters who has fought at least 3 fights for top teir promotion and fighters who fought for title bout from NMMA. What do you dont understand any of the above. All the MMA editor including me would like to see more fighters pages to be created but we are Wikipedian and if we are to edit Wikipedia then we need to adhere to the guidelines especially the guidelines has recently been approved. Let it go, at least for a year or two before proposing if there are any changes from Wikipedia policy. Cassiopeia talk 07:28, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
- So NMMA is then pointless and the only thing of value is whether they pass GNG or not. That could have just been said from the beginning, so what is the point of NMMA and the other notability criteria for the sports or other wikiprojects? HeinzMaster (talk) 15:00, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
- I have explained that before in the WikiProject before (provide links on NSPORT discussion and communication with admin about Village pump Wikipedia discussion on "participation in sport/game) and you might have missed it or didnt read it. Moreover, most of the mma editors dont care / dont want to know / dont want to understand about Wikipedia guidelines and they just want to edit or to support fighters and promotions in the Wikipedia. It is frustrating very frustrating and most of them would just think I am trying to stop what they wanted/want but I am here to educate and inform them about Wikipedia guidelines and settle issues for we are Wikipedians and should adhere to and respect the guidelines even at times I dont agree with some of the existing guidelines such as I think all editors should be registered for they dont even need to provide their email address to edit for this will reduce tremendous amount of vandalism in English Wikipedia (English Wikipedia had actually done an experience before to have all editors to registered in order to edit and the results showed huge reduction of vandalism, but they revert the guidelines for one simple and initial concept that everyone can edit Wikipedia.)
- Go back to the NMMA and GNG and I will explain the current situation again. The current NMMA reduced to only one criteria "world top ten fighters in Sherdog / Fight Matrix". The recent NSPORT removed NMMA (1) fighters have fought for top tier promotions in a title fight and (2) fighters have fought at least 3 fights in top tier promotion. The recent Village pump (discussion of Wikipedia policy) have removed all sport person who have "participate/played" in a sport game to be qualify their respective notability sport guidelines (such as Olympians and professional sportsmen/sportswomen) and this resulted the removal of the two previously (1) and (2) NMMA criteria by NSPORT because the fighters are considered just participate in the sport. So to reintroduce 2 fights in top promotion again is pointless, we would better to try fighters who fought for top tier/2 tiers to be included as even thought their are still "until participate" guidelines but at least they had fought for title fights in major promotions and that "might" have a chance to pass in NSPORT as the same criteria is listed in NBOX. NSPORT criteria is the same as GNG which means the subject is notable if there are significant coverage by independent, reliable sources where by the source talk about the subject in length and in depth and not only passing mention. (Note: routine report is not acceptable such as announcement of a match/fight and the result of the game/match where the subject participate / play / fight in). In short, for fighters to be notable to have merit a page in Wikipedia is pass GNG and world top ten criteria in NMMA. For other notability criteria, the same criteria that affect NMMA (removing of previous guidelines) also affect them. However, they have been discussion (still going , closed or about to open a discussion) to redefine some of the sport criteria of their disciplines for some sport dont have world top ten but will defined by certain competitions (such as cycling - tour de France and etc; Rugby Union - super 14 league and etc; and etc for other sports). To say all that, the most important thing is for the subject to pass GNG for SNG or SSN do not superseded GNG but in almost all cases (since subject "participate in certain sport" criteria has been removed" then if the subject meets sport specific guidelines, the AfD of the page/subject would vote and close a keep in AfD.
- To explain further, Wikipedia is not a perfect project. Some of the SNG/SSN (specific notability guidelines) and (Sport specific guidelines) does not subject to GNG (I didnt explain that in WikiProject, because it might confuse other editors and it is not about NMMA guidelines on the discussion). Example such as academic hardly have any coverage by independent, reliable source (such as newspapers) but we would see a cat story returned to owner would be coverage by major newspapers - example see here, but major newspapers are not interested in coverage smart people and their achievements. For such NACAMEDIC would have different guidelines to cover criteria for scholars to have a page in Wikipedia. Another example, politicians who have coverage by newspaper during their campaign for certain election would not pass GNG except if anything is cover is not about their campaign in national newspapers but they will be merit a page after they won the election even before they assume the position. A page about train station, even with only on non independent source (such as the particupalr train official page), it is historical a keep in AfD without exception. Other examples would be subject to the reasons or the voters (rarely thought) for one example where I was involved in about a page of a high quality of an educational book publisher and most ppl including admin vote to keep even it fails GNG (not independent coverage) but we deem the subject is worthy of a page (dont get me wrong, for such a case, the page can be re-nominated for AfD if an editor see if otherwise).
- This is a length explanation which most point I have explained a few time in different WikiProject MMA talk page which I hope not only you but other editors do read and care and want to know except just want to edit and want more fighter pages in Wikipedia and careless about Wikipedia guidelines. If we dont respect and adhere to Wikipedia guidelines then why are we here for? and we should just create our own blog or web page for we can write whatever we deem fit. Stay safe and best. Cassiopeia talk 23:53, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
- Ahh okay, I get it, so NMMA is jut there for fighters who might not fulfill the GNP but at top 10, which is a rare occurance but can still happen. I guess I will create new articles based on a three+ wins rules as that usually accompanies wider media coverage. In regards to the smaller promotions, maybe championship status, but that would necessitate creating a new tier. HeinzMaster (talk) 16:32, 13 August 2022 (UTC)
- It is not about 3+ win rule - if the coverage is about fight announcements and results then it can be many wins and they are still considered "routine reports" and not suffice as sources to pass GNG. We can create article regardless how many wins or losses or if they fight under any promotion as long as the subjects pass GNG. GNG is defined as the subject needs to have "significant coverage" by "independent", "reliable" sources (IRS) where by the sources talk about the subject in dept and in length and not passing mentioned. (note routine reports would not be consider the right sources). Take Paddy Pimblett for example, he has yet to have 3 fights in UFC, but he pass GNG due to significant coverage on him in major newspaper besides "routine report" of his fights. Well, how many sources would considered passing GNG, I would say 5 to 7 but many other editors in AfD would accept 3-5 and vote a keep. What we can do is to find enough IRS in any languages for the subject to pass GNG. Stay safe and best.

Cassiopeia talk 23:53, 8 August 2022 (UTC)
- Just to clarify sources can not contribute to the notability of the subjects as below
- not independent sources - interviews, any sources that associated with the subject (UFC, ESPN, their marketing team/team mates and etc.)
- fight announcements and results and fight record (such as fighters page in Sherdog and tapology)
- Cassiopeia talk 11:22, 14 August 2022 (UTC)
- In regards to the interview part, how much does of the article needs to not be an article. Like just for example, would this [1] be an acceptable source? HeinzMaster (talk) 01:11, 15 August 2022 (UTC)
- See below
- (1)First of all ESPN can be used for UFC fighter pages as it is not independent as it has business contract with UFC.
- (2) in most cases if only 10 percent of the source is based on interview then it can be used to contribute to the notability guidelines,
- (3)(take this example but the source are not ESPN but other IRS) Secondly, if a page already existed which 100 percent pass the GNG then it could be used for adding content to the page. If it is a quote from the subject, then the content added needs to reflect that. If the source is used for new page then it is debatable as it is about 50 percent info is from the interview. Strictly speaking, I will avoid to use it for new page but in AfD, it would depend on the voters.
- (4)The point here is that, if there is enough sources (5-7) IRS coverage directly talk about the subject in length and in dept. (except the points I stated in the earlier message), it should pass GNG. Since you know more than one languages that might help to find more IRS of a particular subject/fighter. I sometime would find the Chinese or Russian sources if I know their Chinese name or Russian names and use Google translate to see if the sources and info is useable. Speedy deletion nomination of File:Fek7ojtaUAA7y7J.jpg
A tag has been placed on File:Fek7ojtaUAA7y7J.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the file appears to be a blatant copyright infringement of https://twitter.com/keffals/status/1587448897609285633. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
The page Anatoliy Malykhin has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, or you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. signed, Rosguill talk 16:55, 3 November 2022 (UTC)

Raul Rosas Jr. moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Raul Rosas Jr., is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:

New Page Patrol newsletter October 2022
Hello HeinzMaster,
Much has happened since the last newsletter over two months ago. The open letter finished with 444 signatures. The letter was sent to several dozen people at the WMF, and we have heard that it is being discussed but there has been no official reply. A related article appears in the current issue of The Signpost. If you haven't seen it, you should, including the readers' comment section.
Awards: Barnstars were given for the past several years (thanks to MPGuy2824), and we are now all caught up. The 2021 cup went to John B123 for leading with 26,525 article reviews during 2021. To encourage moderate activity, a new "Iron" level barnstar is awarded annually for reviewing 360 articles ("one-a-day"), and 100 reviews earns the "Standard" NPP barnstar. About 90 reviewers received barnstars for each of the years 2018 to 2021 (including the new awards that were given retroactively). All awards issued for every year are listed on the Awards page. Check out the new Hall of Fame also.
Software news: Novem Linguae and MPGuy2824 have connected with WMF developers who can review and approve patches, so they have been able to fix some bugs, and make other improvements to the Page Curation software. You can see everything that has been fixed recently here. The reviewer report has also been improved.
Suggestions:
- There is much enthusiasm over the low backlog, but remember that the "quality and depth of patrolling are more important than speed".
- Reminder: an article should not be tagged for any kind of deletion for a minimum of 15 minutes after creation and it is often appropriate to wait an hour or more. (from the NPP tutorial)
- Reviewers should focus their effort where it can do the most good, reviewing articles. Other clean-up tasks that don't require advanced permissions can be left to other editors that routinely improve articles in these ways (creating Talk Pages, specifying projects and ratings, adding categories, etc.) Let's rely on others when it makes the most sense. On the other hand, if you enjoy doing these tasks while reviewing and it keeps you engaged with NPP (or are guiding a newcomer), then by all means continue.
- This user script puts a link to the feed in your top toolbar.
Backlog:
Saving the best for last: From a July low of 8,500, the backlog climbed back to 11,000 in August and then reversed in September dropping to below 6,000 and continued falling with the October backlog drive to under 1,000, a level not seen in over four years. Keep in mind that there are 2,000 new articles every week, so the number of reviews is far higher than the backlog reduction. To keep the backlog under a thousand, we have to keep reviewing at about half the recent rate!
- Reminders
- Newsletter feedback - please take this short poll about the newsletter.
- If you're interested in instant messaging and chat rooms, please join us on the New Page Patrol Discord, where you can ask for help and live chat with other patrollers.
- Please add the project discussion page to your watchlist.
- If you are no longer very active on Wikipedia or you no longer wish to be a reviewer, please ask any admin to remove you from the group. If you want the tools back again, just ask at PERM.
- To opt out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.
New Pages Patrol newsletter January 2023
Hello HeinzMaster,
- Backlog
The October drive reduced the backlog from 9,700 to an amazing 0! Congratulations to WaddlesJP13 who led with 2084 points. See this page for further details. The queue is steadily rising again and is approaching 2,000. It would be great if <2,000 were the “new normal”. Please continue to help out even if it's only for a few or even one patrol a day.
- 2022 Awards
Onel5969 won the 2022 cup for 28,302 article reviews last year - that's an average of nearly 80/day. There was one Gold Award (5000+ reviews), 11 Silver (2000+), 28 Iron (360+) and 39 more for the 100+ barnstar. Rosguill led again for the 4th year by clearing 49,294 redirects. For the full details see the Awards page and the Hall of Fame. Congratulations everyone!
Minimum deletion time: The previous WP:NPP guideline was to wait 15 minutes before tagging for deletion (including draftification and WP:BLAR). Due to complaints, a consensus decided to raise the time to 1 hour. To illustrate this, very new pages in the feed are now highlighted in red. (As always, this is not applicable to attack pages, copyvios, vandalism, etc.)
New draftify script: In response to feedback from AFC, the The Move to Draft script now provides a choice of set messages that also link the creator to a new, friendly explanation page. The script also warns reviewers if the creator is probably still developing the article. The former script is no longer maintained. Please edit your edit your common.js or vector.js file from User:Evad37/MoveToDraft.js
to User:MPGuy2824/MoveToDraft.js
Redirects: Some of our redirect reviewers have reduced their activity and the backlog is up to 9,000+ (two months deep). If you are interested in this distinctly different task and need any help, see this guide, this checklist, and spend some time at WP:RFD.
Discussions with the WMF The PageTriage open letter signed by 444 users is bearing fruit. The Growth Team has assigned some software engineers to work on PageTriage, the software that powers the NewPagesFeed and the Page Curation toolbar. WMF has submitted dozens of patches in the last few weeks to modernize PageTriage's code, which will make it easier to write patches in the future. This work is helpful but is not very visible to the end user. For patches visible to the end user, volunteers such as Novem Linguae and MPGuy2824 have been writing patches for bug reports and feature requests. The Growth Team also had a video conference with the NPP coordinators to discuss revamping the landing pages that new users see.

However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

The page Bruno Souza (fighter) has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section R2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it was a redirect from the article namespace to a different namespace except the Category, Template, Wikipedia, Help, or Portal namespaces.
Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion Review. Date Formatting
Hello, when editing pages like you did with Michael Page can you please make sure that you use the correct date formatting? You used a mm/dd format when adding information about the fighters ranking instead of dd/mm.
Please double check the date formatting being used on the page before either adding new information to it or updating the page with new information. If you notice dates which are not in the correct format on the page, could you please also try and change them to the correct format so the page has consistency throughout.
Kind regards,

New pages patrol newsletter
Hello HeinzMaster,
Backlog update: At the time of this message, there are 11,300 articles and 15,600 redirects awaiting review. This is the highest backlog in a long time. Please help out by doing additional reviews!
October backlog elimination drive: A one-month backlog drive for October will start in one week! Barnstars will be awarded based on the number of articles and redirects patrolled. Articles will earn 4x as many points compared to redirects. You can sign up here.
PageTriage code upgrades: Upgrades to the PageTriage code, initiated by the NPP open letter in 2022 and actioned by the WMF Moderator Tools Team in 2023, are ongoing. More information can be found here. As part of this work, the Special:NewPagesFeed now has a new version in beta! The update leaves the NewPagesFeed appearance and function mostly identical to the old one, but updates the underlying code, making it easier to maintain and helping make sure the extension is not decommissioned due to maintenance issues in the future. You can try out the new Special:NewPagesFeed here - it will replace the current version soon.
Notability tip: Professors can meet WP:PROF #1 by having their academic papers be widely cited by their peers. When reviewing professor articles, it is a good idea to find their Google Scholar or Scopus profile and take a look at their h-index and number of citations. As a very rough rule of thumb, for most fields, articles on people with a h-index of twenty or more, a first-authored paper with more than a thousand citations, or multiple papers each with more than a hundred citations are likely to be kept at AfD.
Reviewing tip: If you would like like a second opinion on your reviews or simply want another new page reviewer by your side when patrolling, we recommend pair reviewing! This is where two reviewers use Discord voice chat and screen sharing to communicate with each other while reviewing the same article simultaneously. This is a great way to learn and transfer knowledge.
Reminders:
- You can access live chat with patrollers on the New Page Patrol Discord.
- Consider adding the project discussion page to your watchlist.
- To opt out of future mailings, please remove yourself here.
