Hello, I'm Dudhhr. I noticed that you made a change to an article, I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. – dudhhr talk contribs (he/they) 03:38, 18 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If I've Only One Time Askin' moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to If I've Only One Time Askin'. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it has no sources. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. — Moriwen (talk) 17:40, 27 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Closest of Friends. This means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be although other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Edit warring, making the same exact edit as blocked IP Special:Contributions/47.223.111.239. By other editors do you mean yourself? Not to mention, there is no listed genre, so how is adding one wrong? HankWilliamsGeorgeJones (talk) 01:20, 23 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If there is no explicit source for the genre, then we don't list a genre. Binksternet (talk) 17:52, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Then you certainly have a lot of editing to do on around half of the album pages of many classic country artists who are listed as “Country” with no source. HankWilliamsGeorgeJones (talk) 20:56, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A generic genre is okay for an obvious example of that genre, for instance "Rapper's Delight" is clearly a hip hop song. See Wikipedia:You don't need to cite that the sky is blue. But more specific genres need to be sourced. This edit of yours was completely unacceptable, changing to genres that aren't supported by the cited sources, even changing the title of the AllMusic webpage. Binksternet (talk) 21:57, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
In that case, a valid argument would be that he promoted the album on hee haw and it was also produced by Jerry Butler: therefore it would make this a generic genre. HankWilliamsGeorgeJones (talk) 22:10, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Also, while on the topic, I want to commend and thank you for editing “Heartache Tonight” with a source. Keep up the amazing work with source finding! HankWilliamsGeorgeJones (talk) 02:24, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you change genres in pages without discussion or sources, as you did at Lonely and Blue. Binksternet (talk) 04:00, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The album “Lonely and Blue” features cover songs of four different country music hits at the time. That would make it a partially country album, not to mention it is a Rock and Roll album, not a rock album. HankWilliamsGeorgeJones (talk) 04:01, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You were blocked for this before. What you need is a published source explicitly supporting the genre you want to add. Binksternet (talk) 04:30, 14 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That will have to wait ...

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited East Texas, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Hank Thompson. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
