Map for Terry Fox?
Hi Guerillero, I was reviewing Terry Fox for WP:URFA/2020 and I noticed a map of Fox's run in the article. The colour used for the route is difficult to see when the map is thumb-sized and there's a lot of clutter in the map from roads, powerlines, and unnecessary placenames that are written in a small font. Would you be willing to make a new map for this that would be easier to interpret at a thumb size? Thanks, Z1720 (talk) 22:18, 29 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Z1720: Looks doable. Is there a list of the places Fox went? I would like to start from the data for this one. -- Guerillero Parlez Moi 15:10, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
- The Terry Fox Foundation was the source for the map I posted here. This source has a map of the places Fox visited. Z1720 (talk) 17:44, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
- Perfect, I will get to work -- Guerillero Parlez Moi 18:00, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
- @Z1720: Let me know what you think! -- Guerillero Parlez Moi 22:15, 31 December 2021 (UTC)
- I like it! I'm gonna propose it on Talk:Terry Fox. Z1720 (talk) 02:47, 1 January 2022 (UTC)

Review for Cedar Hill Yard
Hi, would you be interested in reviewing my FAC at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/Cedar Hill Yard/archive1? Any comments would help, although I do need a source review still. Thanks! Trainsandotherthings (talk) 21:51, 2 January 2022 (UTC)
How we will see unregistered users
Hi!
You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.
When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.
Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.
If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.
We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.
Thank you. /Johan (WMF)

Topic ban violation
Hi Guerillero! It has come to my attention that User:CutePeach may be violating their topic ban from the Origins of COVID-19, broadly construed. They are editing Talk:Chinese government response to COVID-19 and discussing material which is directly related to the area they are topic banned from. ––FormalDude talk 13:21, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
- @FormalDude: What is particular do you see as a violation? -- Guerillero Parlez Moi 15:44, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
- I see their editing of an article that has a section covering Virus origin investigations to be a violation. This article specifically mentions the lab leak theory as well. My understanding is that they're banned from editing articles that cover these topics. ––FormalDude talk 16:13, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
- I am off to dinner, but will take a look when I get home -- Guerillero Parlez Moi 16:16, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
- I don't see anything clear cut enough for me to block by myself. I am starting to think that I should modify my topic ban. -- Guerillero Parlez Moi 23:00, 8 January 2022 (UTC)
- I think that'd probably be wise. ––FormalDude talk 08:36, 9 January 2022 (UTC)

Question
Thanks for the source review on the It's Elementary FA. As someone who participates quite a bit in FA, I was wondering how long it usually takes to form a consensus for promotion or not. I was hoping for more than one reviewer by this point. SL93 (talk) 00:47, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
- @SL93: Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/The Minute Man/archive1 took just under a month but that is because I was proactive about finding reviewers -- Guerillero Parlez Moi 11:10, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
- I posted at Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews Needed. I'm not sure of the right way to approach editors about seeing if they can review the article. Casliber left useful pre-FAC feedback on the article talk page after I asked for suggestions so maybe I could ask them. SL93 (talk) 11:16, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
- Cas is a good reviewer. FA reviewers follow each others talk page. A request on Cas's talk page would also alert his TPSes -- Guerillero Parlez Moi 13:18, 13 January 2022 (UTC)

Your GA nomination of Saint Vincent Beer
Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article Saint Vincent Beer you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Map question
Hi Guerillero, I'm trying to make a map of the buildings on Columbus Circle (Syracuse, New York), but am not sure where to start. do you have any advice? Is there somewhere I can get a blank map of the circle from to label that's appropriately licensed? Thanks for any advice you might have. Eddie891 Talk Work 15:32, 13 January 2022 (UTC)
- @Eddie891: Heya! I enjoyed your FAs about Walt Whitman. I would start with a modified open street map baseman and then add markers and labels from there. I have paying work in my queue, but if you give me a list of buildings in the neighborhood, I could make it in an afternoon or two. -- Guerillero Parlez Moi 14:26, 14 January 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the response! I've liked reading a number of your articles, and was particularly fascinated by The Minute Man-- it even helped me impress my friends by getting a trivia question on it right! hm... OSM does seem like a good place to start. The buildings I think would be worth including are:
- Plymouth Congregational Church,
- the Columbus Monument itself,
- the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception,
- St. Paul's Cathedral,
- (Fourth) Onondaga County Courthouse,
- John H. Mulroy Civic Center,
- 215 East Jefferson Street (AKA Columbus Center/First Baptist Church),
- 335 Montgomery Street (AKA Carnegie Building),
- 304 East Onondaga (First Gospel/Wesleyan Methodist, currently a restaurant),
- 317 East Jefferson (Prince of Peace Missionary)
- 10 buildings-- is that too many? I can pare down if you want. OSM does a pretty good job labeling them already. I'd really appreciate if you could piece something together, but no worries if not. Many thanks either way, Eddie891 Talk Work 15:41, 14 January 2022 (UTC)

Switch
Thanks for adding yourself to Switch—glad to see another winner! I think you need to look at the numbering again. DYK has, I think, 8 hooks per slot in most cases, but it's gone through phases of 7 and maybe 6, causing a bit of confusion. In particular, the quirky slot can vary its ordinal (but is always last). You need something from 1 to 8, which I think you will have (e.g. Frozen (advertisement) ran in eighth), but can you double check the numbers again and add something for number 8? — Bilorv (talk) 21:49, 17 January 2022 (UTC)
- Let me do some counting -- Guerillero Parlez Moi 10:19, 18 January 2022 (UTC)
- I've removed you for now, but please add yourself back when you get around to sorting out the numbering. — Bilorv (talk) 16:01, 22 January 2022 (UTC)

List of Nobel laureates affiliated with Princeton University
User:Guerillero: Would you support delisting List of Pomona College people? The inclusion criteria is almost same for List of Nobel laureates affiliated with Princeton University. List of Nobel laureates affiliated with Princeton University include alumni (graduates and attendees), faculty members, postdocs, and visiting professors affiliated with Princeton University. The inclusion criteria is same as List of Princeton University people. Ber31 (talk) 13:03, 25 January 2022 (UTC)
Discretionary sanctions topic area changes
In a process that began last year with WP:DS2021, the Arbitration Committee is evaluating Discretionary Sanctions (DS) in order to improve it. A larger package of reforms is slated for sometime this year. From the work done so far, it became clear a number of areas may no longer need DS or that some DS areas may be overly broad.
The topics proposed for revocation are:
- Senkaku islands
- Waldorf education
- Ancient Egyptian race controversy
- Scientology
- Landmark worldwide
The topics proposed for a rewording of what is covered under DS are:
- India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan
- Armenia/Azerbaijan
Additionally any Article probation topics not already revoked are proposed for revocation.
Community feedback is invited and welcome at Wikipedia:Arbitration/Requests/Motions. --Barkeep49 (talk) 16:59, 27 January 2022 (UTC)
