Thank you for being ready to serve on arbcom, - good luck! - I still have yesterday's good top story to offer, - and a little below is my vision for 2020. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:16, 23 November 2020 (UTC)

Comment
Hey Guerillero and El_C, I just wanted to make this comment (where I also tagged Cullen328 and Drmies) here as it was removed on the user talk page. Sorry for any inconvenience.VR talk 01:41, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
- Yeah, that was weird getting pinged and not finding my username mentioned after reading the thread three times. I thought I was going senile, but now I see that the editor reverted it. I think that this editor needs a topic ban, and "Islam and post-1452 CE Middle East" or something like that seems right. The notion that the disruptive behavior was limited to Syrian Kurdistan is incorrect. The editor's behavior at Hagia Sophia was also highly problematic. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 01:59, 8 December 2020 (UTC)
New Page Patrol December Newsletter
Hello Guerillero/Archives/2020,
- Year in review
It has been a productive year for New Page Patrol as we've roughly cut the size of the New Page Patrol queue in half this year. We have been fortunate to have a lot of great work done by Rosguill who was the reviewer of the most pages and redirects this past year. Thanks and credit go to JTtheOG and Onel5969 who join Rosguill in repeating in the top 10 from last year. Thanks to John B123, Hughesdarren, and Mccapra who all got the NPR permission this year and joined the top 10. Also new to the top ten is DannyS712 bot III, programmed by DannyS712 which has helped to dramatically reduce the number of redirects that have needed human patrolling by patrolling certain types of redirects (e.g. for differences in accents) and by also patrolling editors who are on on the redirect whitelist.
Rank | Username | Num reviews | Log |

9 | Hughesdarren (talk) | 4,520 | Patrol Page Curation |
10 | Utopes (talk) | 3,958 | Patrol Page Curation |
- Reviewer of the Year
John B123 has been named reviewer of the year for 2020. John has held the permission for just over 6 months and in that time has helped cut into the queue by reviewing more than 18,000 articles. His talk page shows his efforts to communicate with users, upholding NPP's goal of nurturing new users and quality over quantity.
- NPP Technical Achievement Award
As a special recognition and thank you DannyS712 has been awarded the first NPP Technical Achievement Award. His work programming the bot has helped us patrol redirects tremendously - more than 60,000 redirects this past year. This has been a large contribution to New Page Patrol and definitely is worthy of recognition.
Six Month Queue Data: Today – 2262 Low – 2232 High – 10271

Advice
I will understand if you feel it wiser not to answer this, because you may soon be an arb, but I am unsure where to ask.
Flyer22 Reborn has retired (again, and is likely to return if history serves), so the case may be suspended. But Flyer has left a WP:POLEMIC about me on their userpage and talk page. I guess the first question is, do you think it's a POLEMIC, or should I just ignore it? Because the second problem is that the evidence that I would have presented in the ArbCase has to do with Flyer's increasing brazenness in flaunting policies, reverting IPs, insulting regulars with personalization because enough admins were always pinged to Flyer's defense that no progress could be made (for example, with the increasing abuse of rollback, which I saw hit my watchlist repeatedly, and checked after a very promising new editor inquired on my talk and was put off, but a slew of admins turned on Protonk for even bringing it up). Flyer's behaviors escalated because they were enabled by admins. There is no point to me inquiring at ANI about whether a) that is a POLEMIC, and b) it should be taken down, because any issue with Flyer had a foregone conclusion, as friendly admins were routinely pinged to their defense.
So do I ignore the POLEMIC, do I add a request for a Motion about it on the Arb Case request, do you think it breaches POLEMIC ... what should I do next ? E-mail Arcom? ANI is out.
If you feel unable to answer this with the Arb election outcomes pending, perhaps one of your talk page stalkers will. You are my first stop since you gave me such good advice on procedural issues during the Medicine case. Bst, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 19:20, 11 December 2020 (UTC)
- @SandyGeorgia: I don't think I can be specific until the results roll in. That being said, the wind looks like it is blowing in the direction of a case happening even if Flyer is retired at the time. If the case goes forward, this sounds like things that should be brought up in the evidence. It is might worthwhile to send ArbCom an email pointing them to it just to make sure that they are aware of what happened --Guerillero Parlez Moi 00:33, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
- Email the arbitration clerks. They are responsible for keeping order and will seek advice from the arbitrators as needed. The fact that you give evidence or a statement at arbitration should not result in you getting targeted with a polemic statement on a user talk page during pendancy of the case. Behavior of litigants during the case is a strong signal to the arbitrators. Whatever you do, don't retaliate in kind. Jehochman Talk 04:15, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks both for the suggestions. I guess I shall sit tight for a few days to see if the case is accepted. Not sure about emailing the clerks, as there are clerks posting to that page and not apparently bothered by, or at least not noticing, the POLEMIC, so perhaps Guy Macon had the right idea to keep a very safe distance. Best, SandyGeorgia (Talk) 19:23, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
I'm sad to not being elected to a second term on the committee, but I am happy to have cleared the 60% threshold. Thank you to all who supported me. I enjoyed answering the questions posed straight and not dithering about my opinions. I am going to continue to clerk for the committee, work at AE, and try to write another FA --In actu (Guerillero) Parlez Moi 20:18, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
