Semi-protected talk pages
I recently started a discussion at [1] about semi-protection on talk pages, and I feel like there's some support for not having it go on indefinitely. Thanks to some of the readers there, Category:Semi-protected talk pages has recently shrunk from about 86 to 77 pages. I noticed that just a few of the ArbCom case pages are in this category, and you had protected a couple of those, i.e. [2] and [3]. I was wondering if you'd be agreeable to the idea of normalizing the status of the ones you protected, or perhaps even all the Arbcom pages in the category. I understand of course there's a chance of IP (or registered) editors causing disruption if you do that, but I think these are old cases and it's unlikely, and if it happens it would better be dealt with by a consistent edit filter that flags any *Arbitration/Requests/Case* editing by IPs for examination than by having just a few semi-protected. Thanks for your consideration. Wnt (talk) 19:06, 20 April 2015 (UTC)
- Done at the same time, I am of the belief that there isn't a reason for any of those pages to be edited for any reason by a non-autoconfirmed editor --Guerillero | Parlez Moi 01:49, 21 April 2015 (UTC)
