Since you looked closely at the photo of a naturally occurring stigma in a manuscript, don't you think it's a bad example? The stigma in the photo is just an elision of sigma and tau, and looks nothing like the stigma character given in the article. Calling it a "handwritten variant" is not very convincing to me at least. Dark Formal (talk) 00:50, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Removing verifiable fact

Is vandalism. When something changes, you make a statement past tense but you never remove verifiable content as you did on the Desperate Housewives article. This is vandalism. The facts are the first part of the tornado two parter was to be a cliffhanger and was. The only position reversed was that now that it is likely the season is over, they decided to air the second part. You do not remove chunks of an article that deal with fact. Things change, but it doesn't make what was reported in November false. IrishLass (talk) 14:31, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

okay, the source is now after it so it looks like its sourced. before i took it out it was false information since it was in the present tense and something different had already happened. It looked like you had put back unsourced material.Grk1011 (talk) 14:37, 14 January 2008 (UTC)

Re: Margarita Zorbala

The site uses frames and not flash. From the http://www.zorbala.com/index_en.htm page, I held the right mouse button down over the [ BIOGRAPHY ] button and selected Copy Link Location. You should be able to accomplish the same steps, but the specifics will vary depending upon your operating system and browser. -- JLaTondre (talk) 16:04, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Hryspa hryspa.JPG)

Thanks for uploading Image:Hryspa hryspa.JPG. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:12, 23 February 2008 (UTC)

Hryspa

She was born in 1982, that's for sure, it might be a mistake the comment that she released the first album Tora at the age of 18.

I will start uploading antique samples later today, don't worry! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Egtheod (talkcontribs) 05:30, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

I don't understand what you want me to fix. Are there 2 pages about the same thing? Also it would take an administrator to merge the two if that is what you wanted. Grk1011 (talk) 19:01, 12 March 2008 (UTC)

Use of images at Katy Garbi

Following your recent revert of my edit to Katy Garbi, please be aware that per Wikipedia:NFC#Images_2, subsection 5 regarding what images should not be used for:

An image to illustrate an article passage about the image, if the image has its own article (in which case the image may be described and a link provided to the article about the image)

I have removed the cover art from the artist page accordingly. Thanks, Cloudz679 (talk) 08:17, 16 March 2008 (UTC)

Well, I think that it was released as a digital download the day after February 6 2008, following the official live presentation on ERT tv.

Maria Despina Palaiologina

Pardon me, but "Palaiologos" and "Despoina" are exactly the same cases: "ai" pronounced as "e", and "oi" as "i". If the one is transliterated directly, the other should be also. This is not only for reasons of consistency, but accuracy as well: modern scholarship increasingly tends to use the direct Greek transliteration. I would even suggest renaming the article itself. Regards, Cplakidas (talk) 23:58, 27 March 2008 (UTC)

Quite the contrary! I suggest retaining "Palaiologos", and using the "Despoina" form as well. I agree it may look a bit ugly, but it is both more correct, and, as said, in line with general conventions on transliterating Greek names. The purely phonetic forms may be easier for those who do not know the nuances of Greek phonology, but that's the problem with all languageσ. Anyone interested enough will either already know about how it is pronounced or check it out, anyway. Cplakidas (talk) 01:01, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Hmmm, I am aware of the usual form. However, what nags me is that "Despoina" in this particular context may not even be a personal name at all, but a title: "Lady". If so, it would not fall under the "accepted English form of names". Anyway, the matter is rather trivial, so I let it rest. Cheers, Cplakidas (talk) 01:18, 28 March 2008 (UTC)
Thought so! :) I think her name was simply Maria (Greeks then as now very rarely used double names). From what the article says, it seems possible that "Despoina", which would be the way her entourage would have addressed her, was mistaken by the Mongols for her real name or title (hence her name "Despina Khatun"). The phrase "Despina of the Mongols", obviously taken from some history book, reinforces my suspicion. But, as I really don't have any inclination to start checking sources for such a trivial issue, and she is either way known in history as "Maria Despina", the present form is OK. Best regards, Cplakidas (talk) 01:36, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Iparhi Logos

First of all if any of you really visited the site you may saw that it has info about To fili tis zois and about her new album so it is updated.I will change the sales. Now about mad.tv i don't know User talk:Panagiotis 2007 04:04, 28 March 2008 (UTC)

Eudocia/Evdokia

The Eurovision singer is a modern person, so her name is Evdokia, that's fine. For ancient and medieval people, we call them "Eudocia", no matter if their names may have been pronounced "Evdokia", which may or may not have been the case anyway. Please don't move them. Adam Bishop (talk) 05:40, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Well, those people lived centuries apart, and one or both of them may not have spoken "medieval Greek". In any case, Eudocia or Eudokia is the proper spelling of their names in English. Adam Bishop (talk) 05:45, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
But these are not their names in English! It has nothing to do with transliteration; they have names in English already. That is my point. Adam Bishop (talk) 05:53, 29 March 2008 (UTC)
Well, don't take this at anger at you specifically, but I am sick of Greeks (and everyone else) being offended at English spellings. That's just how our language works, and you should find it as interesting as we find Greek pronunciations and spellings of English places. Adam Bishop (talk) 06:03, 29 March 2008 (UTC)

Helena Paparizou Discography

hi i think that we should fix her discography. We should make lists with greek and english albums like celine dion's discoraphy.

ok but we can make to lists not two pages

Sweet Escape

Yea I knew it was meant to mean 3.7 million. But unfortunately, the worldwide albums ref is a self-published site not a reliable source, which is why it's blacklisted. The last reliable source was in April 2007 at 2.3 million. I know it's hard to find up-to-date sales, but only reliable sources can be used. Spellcast (talk) 11:30, 4 April 2008 (UTC)

However, it was announced and thus confirmed at Disney Channel's 2008 Upfront. With being confirmed, there is no reason for it not to be listed. If the dates are what you're troubled about, perhaps an Upcoming section is in order.

Infiniti M

To start with a specific explanation - no, the Infiniti M is not the same as the Nissan Gloria, as not all Glorias were Ms and not all Ms are Glorias (the current M is the Nissan Fuga). This is a gray area actually, one could argue Infiniti M should be a disambig to specific Gloria and Fuga generations, but under the current convention the article could stay provided it explains the use of Infiniti M nameplate rather than duplicate content from the other two articles.

The actual content of the articles is another matter, as is the Capella/626 case - unfortunately, probably the majority of automobile articles are flawed in many ways and do not follow important conventions and guidelines, be that automotive-specific or general Wikipedia ones. There is simply a shortage of menpower in the WikiProject to have everything tidied up (and maintained) at once. Which does not mean we give up the standards in places where they have been duly implemented. PrinceGloria (talk) 01:03, 13 April 2008 (UTC)

CV Edit

Grk1011,

It is NOT true you can order a CV from the Fleet department as a retail buyer. I have gone thru 5 different dealers in 2 differetn states trying to order an 2008, and only Government, Commerical (10+ vehicles per year) and Taxi/Livery can purchase CV's from the Fleet Department, the regular buyer cannot. Some (90% of the ones I contacted), won't even sell commercially.

I wish to discuss this with you in order to return my edit to teh CV page.

Heaven Music

Hey there. The Heaven Music category under Pop Record Labels is kind of weird as it's the only entry in the whole pop records category to include subcategories. It's strange to have it listed as a category of its own when no other label on English Wikipedia is done that way. Maybe you can look into it since you have been editing articles relating to Heaven. Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Imperatore (talkcontribs) 23:38, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

LOL Indeed it's smart but I just find it weird to stand out like that, maybe it's just me...

Oh I remember seeing the Sony BMG category too, although it doesn't appear under pop record labels since there is no Sony BMG Greece page yet! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Imperatore (talkcontribs) 23:51, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
