Some baklava for you!
Hi I’m just reviewing Sidney Hill. Thank you very much for creating such a good quality article. Happy editing! Mccapra (talk) 06:44, 14 June 2020 (UTC) |
- Good Morning Mccapra. Thank you very much for the baklava - it looks lovely! Thank you also for the compliment - I really enjoyed writing the article as I learnt a lot about Sidney, templates and how to write an article. Lastly, thank you for taking the time and trouble to review the article - it is very much appreciated :) Gricharduk (talk) 07:05, 14 June 2020 (UTC)
Regarding the ongoing GA review
Hi Gricharduk, I have made all the changes as suggested in the GA review except for Marriage, Legacy and Philanthropic works. Could you address them (the ones I mentioned here) since you are the creator and have better understanding of the subject. Thank you. — Amkgp 💬 05:46, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
- Also let me know when you complete them. Thank you. — Amkgp 💬 06:01, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
- Good Morning Amkgp, Just seen this. Another wow! Thank you so much for making those edits - I thought I would be waking-up to lots of work. I am very grateful indeed for your work on this and for guiding me through this GA process (my first). Of course, I will take a look at those sections now - they are a bit messy because I moved some footnotes into the main body - that will teach me. I will ping you when done and update the GA review page. Thank you Gricharduk (talk) 06:04, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
- Gricharduk, That works for me. — Amkgp 💬 06:05, 13 January 2021 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!
The Writer's Barnstar | |
Congratulations ! The article Sidney Hill has passed the Good Article status. Also, thanks for writing quality articles like Jubilee Clock Tower, Churchill and Beryl May Dent — Amkgp 💬 14:24, 13 January 2021 (UTC) |
- I can only say that if you nominate Beryl May Dent for WP:GA (I feel it can go under Mathematics and mathematicians or Physics and astronomy category). It should pass the review with flying colours. If you decide to nominate Beryl May Dent or any women biographical article for GA next time, do remember to notify Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Green or best submit the nomination at Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Green/Goal Tracking/2021 (the '2021' get updated as per current year). — Amkgp 💬 14:45, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
- You can you use User:SD0001/GAN-helper script for GA nominations if you feel manual nominating difficult. Thank you — Amkgp 💬 14:45, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
- That script is fantastic! I have nominated Beryl and added her to the Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Green project - just after one of your nominations :) Thanks again Gricharduk (talk) 16:20, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
- I have added the '' beside the Sidney Hill at User:Gricharduk, just for you or anyone else who stumbles upon your user page to know that you were successful to make the article to GA status. Happy editing. — Amkgp 💬 14:50, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
- That's very kind of you Amkgp :) That is my first barnstar - I am really, really pleased! Thank you very much. Your support has been fantastic throughout the whole process. Thanks a lot for adding the '' as I would have spent ages in the help pages trying to work out how to do it! Also, I had no clue about the nomination process - It really helps when experienced people like you pass on what the process is. It is also very nice of you to say good things about the Beryl May Dent article. In my mind, she was a bit of an undiscovered genius and deserved the recognition of a Wikipedia article. I am now seriously considering nominating the article - I will let you know how that goes. I am reading the help pages now as I am trying to work out how I award you a barnstar for your support ... bear with me :) Gricharduk (talk) 15:13, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
- Gricharduk, For barnstars you can visit WP:BARNSTARS or go to the user talk page of concerned editor and on the right upper corner next to 'View history' you can find '' icon. Click on that to find commonly used tokens of appreciation. — Amkgp 💬 15:22, 13 January 2021 (UTC)

Women in Red
Hi there, Gricharduk, and welcome to Women in Red. On the basis of the two detailed women's biographies you have created, it looks as if you'll be a useful member of the project. I'm glad to see one of them has been nominated for GA. If you haven't already done so, you might find it useful to look through our Primer for creating women's biographies. Please let me know if you run into any difficulties or need assistance. Happy editing!--Ipigott (talk) 10:59, 4 February 2021 (UTC)

DYK for Sidney Hill
Gricharduk I have co-nominated Sidney Hill for Wikipedia:Did you know as it fulfills the criteria mentioned at WP:DYKRULES. I will handle queries (if any arises during review) and seek assistance from you if the problem is subject related. The nomination is accessible at Template:Did you know nominations/Sidney Hill — Amkgp 💬 17:24, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
- Amkgp Excellent and thank you very much for nominating it. I have never had anything featured on Wikipedia:Did you know (well, apart from John Cooke, which I spent ages updating, but the DYK was nothing do with what I had written!). Very happy to help if there are queries. Have a great evening. Gricharduk (talk) 17:59, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
- @Gricharduk:, Can you address the issues (1-3) pointed at Template:Did you know nominations/Sidney Hill. Thanks — Amkgp 💬 15:27, 9 February 2021 (UTC)

In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message
Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}

Invitation to participate in a research
Hello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,
BGerdemann (WMF) (talk) 19:28, 23 October 2024 (UTC)
