Edges Literary Magazine moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Edges Literary Magazine, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Centre to End All Sexual Exploitation requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Centre to End All Sexual Exploitation. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Ways to improve The Trumpeter (journal)

[edit]

Hello, GreenVolvox,

Thank you for creating The Trumpeter (journal).

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

I don’t see any of the sources discussing the subject in depth.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Mccapra}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Mccapra (talk) 07:02, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Mccapra: Thanks for bringing this up. I wrote the article because I read the page called Environmental ethics and saw the Trumpeter referenced as a historically important journal within the deep ecology movement. Then I looked at WP:JOURNALCRIT and saw that the Trumpeter met all three criteria. Note the primary subject area of the journal is deep ecology and that within that subject area, the Trumpeter is considered historically important (criteria 1 and 3 relate to subject area). Regarding criteria 2, I observed that the Trumpeter has been cited on multiple occasions by the journal Environmental Ethics and by the International Society for Environmental Ethics, both of which are reliable sources. I find it is sometimes tricky to find "in depth" articles about scholarly journals because it is not always common that someone will write an in-depth history of a scholarly journal. So two questions: (1) Does the issue rest with the fact that the article is listed as a magazine instead of a scholarly journal? The Trumpeter's subtitle is "Journal of Ecosophy," it is published by a university press, and it has an academic readership, therefore I think it is more appropriate that we refer to it as a journal and not a magazine (it is also no longer published in print). And (2) Do you think we need the notability hatnote when none of the criteria listed at WP:JOURNALCRIT discuss depth? The criteria listed at WP:JOURNALCRIT is more focused on historical significance and frequency of citation by other reliable sources. --GreenVolvox (talk) 17:42, 11 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hi it does not seem to me that the historical significance of the journal is established at all. If that’s the basis for the article you would need to establish that it was very widely cited and influential. Thanks Mccapra (talk) 07:15, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Okay I'll get started on adding some more citations and improving the article. --GreenVolvox (talk) 19:05, 13 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
