Thanks for supporting my RfA, it closed today with a final tally of 39 supports, 1 oppose and 1 neutral. As always, if you ever see me doing anything which would cause you to regret giving me your support, let me know. henrik•talk18:47, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Majorly
Hey Pedro, just noticed your vote at Majorly's RfA. Considering that nigh on 100 editors have lauded Majorly for his nobility and dedication to the project by going through another RfA and risking his tools, I thought I would come and ask you to reconsider. I don't think it's really about ego, I think it's about making sure the community still supports him. GlassCobra14:09, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Hi GlassCobra, and congrats on the +sysop bit! Regarding my neutral at Majorly's RfA I can only cite this "Requests for adminship (RfA) is the process by which the Wikipedia community decides who will become administrators". Majorly had the +sysop bit and gave it up. Bearly four weeks later he wants it back and goes to the community to decide. The last admin who relinquished was User:^demon who just went to WP:BN and asked for it back. I have no issue with Majorly, but I see sod all value in his RfA per my quote above. He has my support for the tools but I object to the way he's asked for them back. If he's not sure he's up to the job and needs the community to confirm he is then perhaps it's better he doesn't get the bit back. I believe he's a great admin, per my comment, but I can't follow the herd in a support over a waste of time. 100+ votes = 100 + WP:CSD pieces of crap that could have been deleted instead. Cheers .... !! Pedro : Chat 20:19, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
Thank you bunches!
Thank you so much for suppporting my RfA. I was promoted with a total of (44/1/0) - a vote of confidence from the community that I find humbling and motivating. I will not abuse your trust. Look forward to working with you! (Esprit15d21:41, 5 November 2007 (UTC))
Question
Hi, why did you remove this user? I had just given him a final warning and was leaving him listed so other admins checking AIV could keep an eye on him also. You didn't block the IP, so I'm curious. KnowledgeOfSelf | talk22:59, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
You said you were keeping an eye on him, so I took it down to make room for the other entries that have been coming in. However, you're correct, I should have left him up. My apologies, you're more than welcome to put him back if you like. GlassCobra23:16, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
No worry, I was just wondering. No need to re-add him, I've been checking, and he appears to have stopped. Like I said I was just curious. Thanks for the reply. KnowledgeOfSelf | talk23:20, 5 November 2007 (UTC)
So how are you liking the new tools? Have you zapped a few vandals, deleted nonsense pages, and experienced the wondrous admin rollback? Does it not bring a smile to your face when you are able to block that rude vandal instead of listing him at AIV, and hoping that an admin is around keeping an eye on it? Isn't it? :D KnowledgeOfSelf | talk00:27, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for your support.
Remember, remember, the fifth of November? Thank you to everyone who participated in my Request for adminship, which was successful at 50/5/0 on November 5th, 2007. It became, as you may know, rather contentious toward the end (though fortunately no gunpowder was involved), and I appreciate the work of other Wikipedians to keep it focused. --Thespian02:30, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
Late congrats...
Sorry it's delayed. You archive like I often do! :P But I wanted to drop by and congratulate you. Good luck with the mop! Lara❤Love14:34, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
Welcome to the Mop&Bucket Corps! Congratulations on your adminship! Well deserved1 You're an outstanding addition to the Mop Corps...;) And thanks for the welcome back, I'm finally back on my feet! Dreadstar† —Preceding comment was added at 19:20, 7 November 2007 (UTC)
Thank you for supporting me in my recent RFA which did not pass at (18/27/10). I will be sure to improve my editing skills and wait until someone nominates me next time. Thank you for you comments! Tiptoety00:02, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for voting at my RfA. Unfortunately, the result stands at 51 support, 21 oppose and 7 neutral which means that I did not succeed. As many expressed their appreciation of my works in featured portals during my RfA, I will fill up the vacuum position of director in featured portal candidates to maintain the standards of featured contents in addition to my active role in Good articles. Have a great day. OhanaUnitedTalk page04:23, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
Having fun yet?
So, having fun yet? I've had to semi-protect my user page and have received one hilariously aggrieved piece of hate mail that accuses me of being a "fat Canadian fag Nazi". Gee, and I thought I was losing weight... Oh well. Also had a wonderful piece of e-mail from an angry mother who wanted to know why I had deleted her 12-year-old daughter's (nearly-illiterate) page that she had worked so hard on. Turns out the page was about a protologistic term describing slash-style gay sex between the two lead singers of My Chemical Romance. I asked her if she was aware of the topic her daughter was working on -- no reply as yet. (Not holding my breath, either.) And today, I worked on new page patrol for three solid hours -- when I started, the number of tagged pages was 111 -- when I finished, it was 112. --> Sisyphus <sigh>. So, when does the rouge cabal pay us large sums and offer unlimited power to enlist? Accounting4Taste04:53, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I actually noticed that you semi-protected your userpage. Was it really getting hit that much? I'm really surprised, I haven't been getting any angry lashouts...of course, that could be because I've been mostly involved with blocking people since getting the tools. Not sure they can do much after that. :P Sorry about that angry e-mail, that sounds like a hassle, but I don't think the mother knew what she was defending. And yeah, that's freaking twisted. I haven't done a ton of CSD work yet, but I plan to on the soonish side. Other than angry vandals and parents, how are the tools treating you? GlassCobra06:24, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
Other than aggrieved children of all ages, for whom my patience is starting to wear thin (see my talk page for a new addition), I'm actually enjoying the tools. It is quite nice to do new page patrol now -- I can see a nonsensical page, tag it, notify the creator and then delete it, all with a few clicks. If you are looking for something to do, please consider helping out with speedy deletion. It's easy, it's frequently amusing (that is, if you find the notion amusing that someone would think that "Karen is a poo hed" is a valid Wikipedia article) and most of all, you are desperately needed. I don't know if new page vandalism has gone up since the 1st of November, since I don't have any other experience, but I feel like that little Dutch boy with his finger in the dyke... the rising tide of crap is threatening to overwhelm us all. Apparently there are thousands of "poo hed"s out there and they all want their own page. Accounting4Taste16:05, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
My sincere thanks for your support in my request for adminship, which ended with 51 supports, 0 opposes, and 0 neutral. Doubtless it was an error to put one of the government-bred race of pigmen in any position of authority, but I hope your confidence in me proves justified. Even a man pure of heart and who says his prayers at night can become a were-boar when the moon is full and sweet. Fortunately, I'm neither a were-pig nor pure of heart so this doesn't appear to be an imminent danger to Wikipedia for the moment. Fortunate as well because were-pig hooves are hell on keyboards and none too dexterous with computer mice. If ever I should offend, act uncivil, misstep, overstep, annoy, violate policy, or attempt to topple the fascist leadership of Wikipedia, please let me know so I can improve my behaviour and/or my aim. I am not an animal; I am an admin. And, of course, if there is any way in which I can help you on Wikipedia, please do not hesitate to ask me. Despite my japes, I am indeed dedicated to protecting and serving Wikipedia to the best of my foppish and impudent abilities. I will strive to be an admirable admin, shiny and cool, reasonable and beatific. Pigmanwhat?/trail05:24, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
Post Scriptum: I believe my collaged graphic at left, which incorporates the WP globe and mop image, falls under the rubric of parody for my purposes here. Or is it satire? Regardless, it's a legitimate and legally protected First Amendment usage under US law. Complaints and allegations that this is an improper "fair use" image will be entertained on my talk page, probably with fruit juice, finger food and exotic coffees.
Invitation to Participate in a Survey
dear Wikipedia Administrator ,
thank you for your kind attention to this message.
I am asking approx. 200 randomly selected Wikipedia administrators if they would like to participate in a brief (it might take you about 10 minutes) online survey about their use of open content online encyclopedias. I am conducting this research for an introductory research methods class under Professor Peter Monge ( http://www-rcf.usc.edu/~monge/ ).
I hope that, if possible, you will participate in this survey. Please note that you must be 18 years older or over to participate.
Here is the link for the online survey, which begins with information pages detailing survey conditions and participant rights as well as my contact details for any questions:
Thankyou for supporting my successful rfa which closed with 58 supports. If i am honest i am rather humbled by the unanimous support and i hope to live up to everyones expectations. If you ever need any help, don't hesitate to ask. Thanks again. Woodym55514:21, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Dearest Glass Cobra,
Thank you for your participation in my RFA, which closed successfully with 137 supports, 22 opposes, and 5 neutrals. Your kind words of support (except where you compared me to a racist ;) ) are very much appreciated and I look forward to proving you right. I would like to give special thanks to The_undertow and Phoenix-wiki for their co-nominations. Thank you again and best regards.
Awesome job on This, I've asked for the page to be salted, 6 re-creates in 2 days, lol. Hope you don't mind! (Great catch on that, dear!) Ariel♥Gold01:25, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
What happened to good faith on this site? Now i am being accused to a personal attack on you. All I urge is that in future perhaps you should be a little less trigger happy with the old block button, and try to point people in the right direction by advising them of WP regulations etc. If you people can't take a little constructive criticism now and then it's a bad day. --79.72.6.6502:07, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Huh, I wonder whether I should have said that, but, seriously, that was a personal attack, and is not allowed on Wikipedia. And just by using your IP address right now is considered sockpuppetry. I ID'd you as a sockpuppet because you mentioned here that you were blocked on your user account. That's why I didn't assume good faith on you. If I offended you or anything, I apologize. -Goodshoped02:14, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Hey man, thanks for alerting me about this article. Having only one person vandalizing the article doesn't usually merit protection of the article itself; instead, we'd just ban the person. That way, everyone else that wants to contribute positively still can. :) I've given the vandal a final warning; if he vandalizes somewhere again and I don't see it and block him, come and tell me, okay? Also, when you warn vandals, make sure you use the proper blocking templates. Keep up the great work! GlassCobra18:16, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Could you take a look at Paknet's contribs?
He has basically inserted a short essay regarding how much he despises Butto, and inserted it in her article. Is this block-able, per preventative measures against POV-pushing/vandalism? K. Scott Bailey18:45, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, it is. I saw that you gave him a final warning; if he messes around after that, let me or another admin know and he'll get blocked. Keep up the good work, my friend. :) GlassCobra18:47, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks, GC. I appreciate your help on this, and I'll let you know if he continues to rv at the Butto article. Also, thanks for reverting his edits to my userpage. I knew when I added some controversial pages to my watchlist that things like this might happen, but I appreciate having more eyes on my userpage. Regards, K. Scott Bailey18:53, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Is he now block-able? Or, since you reverted his last POV edits, does that DQ you from placing the block? To openly defy multiple warnings, plus a conversation with an admin... sheesh! K. Scott Bailey20:26, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
and what gives you the right to categorise my information as trivia? it has relevance to the topic, and is not a "list" of useless information. just because the reader might not read the article to find out about my content, dosen't mean they wont benifit from the knowlege! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.233.177.104 (talk • contribs)
Benazir Bhutto
Wikipedia is supposed to have facts and not agenda driven pages trying to supress facts. K. Scott Bailey undid my revisions which are facts.
Benazir Bhutto has never had democratically held elections within her Party.
Instead of going to court she has negotiated with the current administration to drop charges of stealing 1.5 to 2.00 Billion US Dollars against her.
She is the only politican is not under arrest and her main opponenent Nawaz Sharif is not allowed to enter the country.
There is a capable young secular leadership within her party who will emerge if free and fair elections are held.
There are allegations within Pakistan that her husband had a hand in her brother's murder because he was challenging her leadership within her Party formed by her father. Her niece Fatima Bhutto has said this numeruous times in her articles.
During her reign thousands on immigrants of Indian origin were killed in extra judical killings.
Hey man, this guy just posted some article that supposedly came from the New York Times on his talk page to corroborate his rant from earlier. Do you think that you could read and see if anything can be used in the Benazir Bhutto in its current form? I have to go dig through the CSD backlogs, ugh. Thanks in advance. GlassCobra22:42, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Even if there are useable pieces in the NYT, his edits were disruptive, and stridently POV. You were definitely proper in your block, though indef may have been a bit harsh. That's just my opinion, though. Others who are actually admins might be able to better advise you on the issue of the block length. K. Scott Bailey23:13, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
Adoption
Hello NovaDog! I noticed that you're interested in having a user adopt you. I'm an administrator who has been here for over 6 months, and I have over 5,000 edits. Depending on what areas you're looking for assistance with, I think I could help you out. Please feel free to drop me a line on my talk page if you're interested. Thanks! GlassCobra02:30, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Hey, GlassCobra. I would be interested in being adopted by you :) Thanks, again, for your interest!
Sure thing! If you want to formally accept it, go ahead and add {{Adoptee|GlassCobra}} to your page where you used to have the {{Adoptme}} template. Then we can go from there! GlassCobra02:57, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Hello there! I saw your shiny new userbox. :) Looks good! So, where would you like to start? Do you have any questions that you'd like to ask me? GlassCobra21:41, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
:) Well, I was wondering how I should get started at Wikipedia. If you've looked over my contributions, and I'm sure you have, you can see that I've mostly been reverting vandalism with Twinkle... but that's about all I can think of at the moment :p So do you have any advice as to how I should get started, and what else I can do? Thanks, by the way :D (Also, do you want me to reply on your talk page, instead of on here? I know different Wikipedians have different preferences.) — NovaDog — (contribs) 22:06, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Absolutely correct, and to be honest, reverting vandalism is and always will be a constant task for everyone. There's no getting around it. I prefer old-school reversion (though the rollback function that admins get speeds things up), but Twinkle will really help you. Fighting vandalism is always great; do you know about reporting vandals to Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism (shortcut: WP:AIV) so they get blocked? When you revert a vandal, go over to their talk page and leave them a warning. If they keep vandalizing, leave them higher warnings. If they go past a Level 4 warning, which is the final one, go ahead and report them. You can report inappropriate usernames to Wikipedia:Usernames for administrator attention (shortcut: WP:UAA). These don't need to have any contributions to be reported, though.
These are more of the behind-the-scenes aspects of Wikipedia, and there are lots of people that contribute a lot in these areas. However, Wikipedia is also always in need of people to contribute to the actual articles; lots of editors are content to tag an article for cleanup or referencing, and not do anything themselves. If you're interested in helping out here, you should check out my What You Can Do page; this lists a lot of ways that you can help out on articles. WikiProjects are a great way to collaborate with other editors to improve content; I see that you've already joined one of those, which is great.
Hopefully this will give you some ideas as to where you want to help out most. As for replying to me, it doesn't really matter. If you have a question, posting on my talk page is the best way to reach me; that way, the orange bar pops up, and I'll see it more quickly. I'll respond here so that you get the orange bar too. After that, you can respond back wherever you like. Good luck! GlassCobra22:38, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Could you take a look at my conduct at the talk page of Abraham Lincoln?
I am reposting this from the note I left at Tim Vickers talk page, as I just noticed he won't be around until Wednesday.
I have a request for you. I have been accused of several egregious policy violations by User:Gwen_Gale. I believe she is out of line in doing so, but I am requesting that in your capacity as an admin, you take a look at my actions (and hers as well) to insure that I'm not out of line in my behavior towards her. Thanks in advance for any time you spend on this matter. Regards, K. Scott Bailey05:23, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

The user has been issued a warning. If he persists in contributing unconstructively, please leave me a message, or report him to WP:AIV. Happy editing! GlassCobra21:36, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. I now see evidence that Rhode Island Hero may be a sockpuppet of Claymort[1]. This person has reacted in anger towards me several times in the past because I insisted on enforcing Wikipedia's editing guidelines against him. Please keep an eye on this. -- Elaichtalk02:33, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Hey there, I responded to the recent concerns on this user's talkpage. Like I said there, I do apologize if it seemed a bit hasty, and the block can reduced to a definite limit, but I stand by my judgment that the user was doing more harm than good. GlassCobra01:33, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
I, too, noticed you blocked User:EpicFlame, claiming they "do not seem to have any constructive edits at all to this project." The quickest glance indicates this user has been editing since early January of 2007, nearly a year with no blocks of any duration. Your block reason mentions "harassment," which seems to me to imply persistent, coordinated attacks, targeting someone specific, in spite of relevant warnings or requests... of which I see none from you. I'm not endorsing their behavior, but I have to ask, is it your general practice to toss aside, indefinitely block, and insult longtime editors at the drop of a hat, with no apparent warning? – Luna Santin (talk)00:20, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Hey there, I responded to the recent concerns on this user's talkpage. I did quite pointedly ask the user not to recreate his douchebox userbox, but he went and did so anyway. Like I said on EF's talk page, I do apologize if it seemed a bit hasty, and the block can reduced to a definite limit, but I stand by my judgment that the user was doing more harm than good. GlassCobra01:35, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Appreciate the reply, and the willingness to compromise. User's behavior after the block has been pretty awful, though... not sure where this anon edit came from, but I know I've seen that set of characters used before, and it doesn't seem the sort of thing somebody casually stumbles by. References to another admin and other trollish memes in this later diff from Epic pretty much seal the deal for me. Possibly this was a gladhand account, or it was compromised? Whatever's going on, looks like I missed something big, and your block was more spot on than it first appeared. I wonder if this is a little taste of how defense attorneys feel, when their client turns out to be pretty unambiguously guilty? In any case, sorry to bother you. – Luna Santin (talk)20:43, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Thank you
Hey man, have you ever been considered being an admin? You've got a very impressive edit count, spread nicely over the spaces, and your work with the Education in Australia WikiProject is really good. I'd be happy to nominate you if you like. :) Think about it, okay? GlassCobra 15:15, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
Whilst I am very humbled by your comments, you may wish to note that i have an semi-long block history, which would attract many opposes. Long story short: i wont be going for admin until i have 20-30,000 contribs. It probably wouldnt pass until this time next year, at the earliest. Thank you anyway. TwentyYears00:23, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Okay, that's fine by me. I think you've got the makings of a good admin if you keep up your good editing. :) Stay well! GlassCobra01:36, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
RfA
Hey, GlassCobra. Sorry this is a bit late, but I just saw that you were granted administrator privileges just recently. Congratulations on a successful RfA! — NovaDog — (contribs) 02:24, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Hey man, thanks for declining that guy's unblock, but it might have been a little hasty on my part. He created some pretty nasty userboxes, including re-creating one after it was deleted at MFD, but other than that, he seemed to be a good-faith editor for the most part. I think some other admins are looking into it, but I wanted to tell you that I appreciate you backing me up. GlassCobra02:22, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
To be honest, I didn't even look into the circumstances surrounding it; I just happened to be working WP:RFU at the time and always deny incoherent or or attacking requests. east.718at 02:26, 11/13/2007
Is it really? I had no idea; well, it looks like the sock's been banned. Even EpicFlame's adopter, User:Mschel, acknowledges that his behavior has been pretty disappointing. GlassCobra03:40, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
My (Remember the dot)'s RfA
I never thanked you for participating in my RfA a couple of weeks ago. Thank you for your support, though unfortunately the request was closed as "no consensus". I plan to run again at a later time, and I hope you will support me again then.
I must confess I'm a little disappointed to see the closed-mindedness that some people are displaying on the MFD. I'm sorry if you find this offensive, it was all in fun. I'm totally cool with you adding in guys to make it more gender-neutral; I was merely doing it from my point of view. Of course, with a gun to my head, if I had to pick one guy, it would probably be one of the ones you've added, you know? Haha. GlassCobra18:37, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
I don't find it offensive at all. I never said that. I simply saw that some people did, and I wanted to make it neutral. I commented "delete" for unrelated reasons. However, if it is going to stay, it should have men, as well, haha. нмŵוτнτ20:07, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
No, I completely agree! If you look, I did put in a couple of the really exceptional ones even when I first started it. :) GlassCobra23:42, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
Hello. First of all, you defended a person that I was fighting with. Thats ok...but you defended the wrong person. I went to the Ed, Edd n Eddy site and found that there was an ending date. So I fixed it. Then this guy vandalizes my page, critisizing me about how Ed, Edd n Eddy ended it's run. So I leave a message for him stating that Ed, Edd n Eddy did NOT end its run. I also proved it to him by stating that I he read more in the summary, that a.k.a Cartoon was making a nother season, AND I went to the site and it said that there WAS going to be a nother season. Then he insults me ON MY OWN PAGE!! So I return the favor, and he said that he would "report me". Then you showed up and took his side. Does that seem fair?Rhode Island Hero21:48, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
