United States article on featured candidate nominations list
[edit]Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/United States
Cast your vote! The more responses, the more chances the article will improve and maybe pass the nomination.--Ryz05 t 22:16, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
I heard that you were keeping this username; in that case, can you request for your MrShame account to be deleted? That way other people who may want that particular username will be able to use that account. Oh, and please reply to this to tell me you're doing it, or else it may get confusing for others. Thanks, Master of Puppets FREE BIRD! 02:13, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Random picture of the day (formerly User:GeorgeMoney/potd) has been nominated for deletion by Hetar because he doesn't like a rule that could have just been discussed on the talk page instead of nominating it for deletion. Please vote on the MfD page. Thanks, GeorgeMoney T·C 15:26, 4 June 2006 (UTC)

re: How
[edit]How are bots given bot status? Please reply on talk page. General Eisenhower • (at war or at peace) 01:03, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
- The Bureaucrats have a special MediaWiki interface through which they can assign a certain user (the bot's account for example) to a special user group named "bot" and that's it - the user's edits no longer show up in Special:Recentchanges. I assume this is the talk page you meant, but Wikipedia talk:Bots, where you posted is one as well. Misza13 T C 11:07, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
Where is this MediaWiki interface? I must know. General Eisenhower • (at war or at peace) 15:23, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
- A bit less demanding tone, please? The interface for adding users to groups is located at Special:Makesysop. You won't be able to access it though, unless you're a bureaucrat. Misza13 T C 16:29, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
- There's now a new interface for bots, actually, at Special:Makebot. --Rory096 22:15, 16 June 2006 (UTC)
Can I make a bot on another wiki let's say for example, the TexasWiki? General Eisenhower • (at war or at peace) 16:42, 15 June 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know. But this is Wikipedia. Ask about it on Wikia, not here. This link may be a good start. Good luck! Misza13 T C 17:56, 15 June 2006 (UTC)

Articles you might like to edit, from SuggestBot
[edit]SuggestBot predicts that you will enjoy editing some of these articles. Have fun!
SuggestBot picks articles in a number of ways based on other articles you've edited, including straight text similarity, following wikilinks, and matching your editing patterns against those of other Wikipedians. It tries to recommend only articles that other Wikipedians have marked as needing work. Your contributions make Wikipedia better -- thanks for helping.
If you have feedback on how to make SuggestBot better, please tell me on SuggestBot's talk page. Thanks from ForteTuba, SuggestBot's caretaker.
P.S. You received these suggestions because your name was listed on the SuggestBot request page. If this was in error, sorry about the confusion. -- ForteTuba 13:06, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

A short Esperanzial update
[edit]As you may have gathered, discussions have been raging for about a week on the Esperanza talk page as to the future direction of Esperanza. Some of these are still ongoing and warrant more input (such as the idea to scrap the members list altogether). However, some decisions have been made and the charter has hence been amended. See what happened. Basically, the whole leadership has had a reshuffle, so please review the new, improved charter.
As a result, we are electing 4 people this month. They will replace JoanneB and Pschemp and form a new tranche A, serving until December. Elections will begin on 2006-07-02 and last until 2006-07-09. If you wish to run for a Council position, add your name to the list before 2006-07-02. For more details, see Wikipedia:Esperanza/June 2006 elections.
Thanks and kind, Esperanzial regards, —Celestianpower háblame 16:00, 23 June 2006 (UTC)

Five months ago, as we were in the midst of coordinator elections, Loopy commented that "I don't think it's unrealistic to imagine this project as one of the most prominent and effective ones around in say, a year's time." Since then:
I'd say—without any unrealistic optimism—that we're well on our way to fulfilling those expectations! Kirill Lokshin, Lead Coordinator |

Hey there. I found Image:10284052110508949478.jpg listed on Category:Images_on_Wikimedia_Commons, and I found that it exists on Wikimedia Commons as Image:In the Land of the Head-Hunters.jpg. There are references to this article on User:General Eisenhower/Picture and User:General Eisenhower/Forbidden Zone. I don't really want to change user pages (especially the one with the warning :-)), but I would like to be able to remove this image without breaking things. Anyway, if you could update your references, that would be great! -- timc talk 14:04, 11 July 2006 (UTC)

Regarding Association of Members' Advocates
[edit]Hi, you are receiving this message because you have listed yourself as an active member of WP:AMA. If you aren't currently accepting inquiries for AMA, or if you have resigned, please de-list yourself from Wikipedia:AMA Members. If you are still active, please consider tending to any new requests that may appear on Category:AMA Requests for Assistance. We're going to put AMA on wheels. :) Sorry for the template spamming - we're just trying to update our records, after we had a huge backlog earlier in the week (if you've been taking cases, then sorry, and please ignore this :)). [edit]Hi I've just noticed that your signature adds a link to your spanish wikipedia page in the left toolbar as an interlanguage link. See for example: Wikipedia:WikiProject History of Science/Collaboration of the Month.
I don't think it is appropriate. Can you please fix it?

Concordia is currently trying to relaunch. I, and all the members of the ex-council, wish to welcome new members to the group. We are a group who aim to promote remaining civil, in an environment where messages can easily be interpretated wrongly.
Help out now!
[edit]- Try and help people remain civil! Talk to them, and help them in any way possible. Do not be afraid to use the talk page.
- Give people the Civility Barnstar.
- Make and spread some Wikitokens so people know there are people to help if they want assistance.
- Add banners or logos to your userpage to show your support.
- Suggest some ideas! Add 'em to the talk page.
We are a community, so can only work though community contributions and support. It's the helping that counts.
Decision Making
[edit]The council expired one month ago, but due to the current position of the group the current council will remain until the position of the group can be assessed, and whether it would be sensible to keep Concordia going. For most decisions, however, it will be decided by all who choose to partake in discussions. I am trying to relaunch because of the vast amounts of new members we have received, demonstrating that the aims are supported.
If you wish to opt of of further talk-page communications, just let us know here.
- Ian¹³/t 20:29, 13 December 2006 (UTC). Kindly delivered by MiszaBot.

Please don't put an image (esspecially animated) in your sig.
[edit]Please don't put an image (esspecially animated) in your sig. It's really irriating, and, at least to me, feels disrespectful. It drags my eyes away from the actual text, and makes it harder to read. I assume you don't find it distracting, but, I can tell you, at least one person (me) does, and I'd be greatly appreciative if you removed it from your sig. (And it'd be great if you went and retroactively fixed the existing ones when you did.) Thanks for your attention, and your work on the 'pedia. An update on Wikipedia:WikiProject Abandoned Articles
[edit]The project has reached the quarter-way point for the work on the list of the oldest 1000 ("abandoned") articles in Wikipedia: 250 articles have been reviewed and updated!
The project now has 21 members. If you're no longer interested, please take your name off the list; you won't get any further messages like this one. On the other hand, if you're still interested, please consider signing up for a(nother) block of 10 articles to work on - if everyone did this, we'd be almost halfway through those 1000 articles!
Finally, please note that project approach has changed slightly - there is now a section for editors to place articles that need to be "adopted", or to adopt articles that need further work. This means that if you find an article in a block of ten that needs more work than you have time for, it has a place to be put.
