And now, for Fvasconcellos' traditional nonsectarian holiday greeting!

Wherever you are, and whether you're celebrating something or not, there is always a reason to spread the holiday spirit! So, may you have a great day, and may all your wishes be fulfilled in 2009! Fvasconcellos (t·c) 14:32, 24 December 2008 (UTC)
Is this a combination of my Christmas greeting from 2006 and my New Year's greeting from last year? Why, it most certainly is! Hey, if it ain't broke...

TBI

Hey Garrondo, thanks so much for all the effort you've put into reviewing the TBI article, you're amazing. I haven't had a lot of time for Wikipedia lately, and I don't know if or when I'll have time for a FAC. I wanted to let you know in the interest of being honest (that is, I don't want to get your hopes up that I'll be able to do a FAC soon). You're more than welcome to continue working on the article, I just wanted to make sure I was clear on what's going on with me so I don't let you down. I'm not quitting the project, but my involvement has been minimal of late. I owe you big for all the effort you've put into helping me, I'll happily repay the favor if you ever have anything you need! Just drop me a note. Peace, delldot ∇. 15:41, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Sounds wonderful Garrondo, I'm very excited to see what you do with it! I appreciate your attitude about it, it certainly takes the pressure off me. Definitely feel free to let me know how I can help. Maybe I'll take on the role of reviewer! Thanks again for your hard work. Peace, delldot ∇. 18:26, 29 December 2008 (UTC)

2Pamplona edit

Mr Arrondo, I respect the edit you made regarding an external blog about Pamplona, though I must be inclined to disagree with you regarding your reasoning as to what is inappropriate when it comes to blogs. If you would like to discuss this in another forum, please email us at contact@2pamplona.com, please accept our apologies if we are too forward here. In any case, we feel compelled to replace our link, as this is an open forum and our intentions are only constructive. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.35.180.92 (talk) 19:57, 23 January 2009 (UTC)

Multiple Sclerosis

Hi, thanks for the clarification about what can and cannot be included re experimental therapies in the main article on MS. A relative newbie and still learning. FQ1513 (talk) 01:47, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Multiple Sclerosis and Vitamin D

Don't agree with you on your taking out my comments on Vitamin D and MS. This was drawn from a newspaper article, meant for lay readers. I would like you to reconsider. I don't want to get into a put it in, take it out mode.Mwinog2777 (talk) 06:01, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

I respectfully disagree with you on this subject. If we waited for a peer reviewed article reviewing this subject, very meaningful information may wait years to get in. Vitamin D has been an exciting development for a few years now. The information I reported gives a wonderful insight into understanding the relationship between Vitamin D, latitude of birth, immunology, age of exposure to area of origin, among other things. I am a neurologist with a special interest in MS. The info you took out represents a very hot topic in the field.Mwinog2777 (talk) 03:35, 12 February 2009 (UTC)

Stroop

I basically get it. I think I've even been asked to do the test myself! Or perhaps I just saw it on television and played along. I'm still not sure it is explained quite as clearly as it could be. I may draft a version myself at some point and put it on the article talk page, and then you can tell me if I have understood it correctly and decide whether anything needs to be changed on the article. I doubt I will do that today though. Feel free to remind me if I don't help out by next week. Thanks for making your recent edits, though. It is an improvement. I think what makes it hard to express clearly is that there are three stimuli and two experiments, and it is making it clear what is going on across those that is the tricky part. --bodnotbod (talk) 19:01, 25 February 2009 (UTC)

Thanks for your comments on the FAC page. I have made some modifications. If you are happy with the article, would you be able to support its FA candidacy? JFW | T@lk 13:00, 8 March 2009 (UTC)

Huntington's Disease

Just checked in to see what tidbits that might have changed, and whoa - way to go Garrondo! Been a long day so doubt I'll be able to match your efforts tonight - still trying to get my head around the licensing for images! but hopefully tomorrow will get up bright tailed and bushy eyed - many thanks for your hard work :) L∴V 23:16, 17 March 2009 (UTC)

:) Dr Steve Finkbeiner has obtained permission from his labs and released the picture of the neuron! he also adds 'I will circulate the page on HD that you have created to the rest of the lab to see if they have any comments, but I think it looks terrific.' :) L∴V 22:39, 2 April 2009 (UTC)
Hi Garrondo, hope you had a good break! Still waiting to get off the blocks as it were, but I've asked delldot if she could give a couple of pointers ( if not too busy ), she's reviewed the article before so may be able to give us a good general insight. I'm holding off to give looie a stable article to review, but in the meantime was wandering about trying to link Caregiving and dementia in somehow as it can cover further issues in a more general way - I see you have probably encountered it during the Alzheimer's editing. I have left a suggestion on the talk page but have had no responses, maybe you could give me a second opinion? Be well L∴V 23:34, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
I've no idea why there is a delay, nothing to do with me (or yourself) as far as I can see, maybe I'll ask... L∴V 10:43, 22 April 2009 (UTC)

Good morning! We now have a few things to clean up - I will try as time permits! In my travels found an issue I'd forgotten about a proposed merge for the huntingtin gene and protein articles, 2 votes for and I'm leaning towards support, appreciate a finishing opinion, L∴V 08:26, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Thanks, will get around to it eventually! Next question looie496 has said he didn't think it necessary for multiple consecutive citations, I'm not sure - personally I always take it a ref covers the preceding content in the paragraph, but I know your preference is per sentence, I don't mind either way. L∴V 14:15, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
... until some magically designs my imagined system of highlighting all text covered by each reference .. Think I've covered ( or attempted ) most of the points in review thus far, a few references to double check ( and re add per sentence where necessary ) for completion, but signing off for now. L∴V 15:09, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Ga Article

YESSSSSSSSSSSS! Many many thanks, the HD made it to GA! :) All the Bests ;) and I feel the following is well earnt ...L∴V 00:53, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

The Medicine Barnstar
Thanks Garrondo, for your valiant contributions to numerous medical articles, and many hours helping get Huntington's Disease to FA status. L∴V 00:53, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

Realms of FAC

Re: 'How do you feel about FA?' Of course, given our shiny new GA status and your assistance it is in the realms of possibility, just a question of timing. I have been focusing on the accuracy side of content for the GA and have been lacking in the readability / prose. Well we needed to get the facts straight first, then make them make sense, copyed for prose is the stage we're at now. There are a few thing's I'd like to get right / add to the article - e.g. the huntingtin protein/gene merge, the caregiving for dementia article (think the HD article is lacking a bit in the caregiving burden aspects which this article could cover in general). But you've been more involved with the FA process, and I see you've even gone article-GA-FA, so what would you suggest as a plan of action ... L∴V 11:00, 30 April 2009 (UTC)

Sounds good to me, I'll cover the bits your less interested in, vice versa and combine strengths on the rest :) I'll do my best at the prose but that isn't one of my strong points so we may need to draft in a good copy editor, but let's see how it goes. We should start a new section on the HD talk for ideas, I'm just letting my head clear from recent editing focus so I can look at the article as a whole (whilst glancing at swine influenza as its current MCOTW ) L∴V 22:59, 30 April 2009 (UTC)
For the moment I will try to find articles on epidemiology and prognosis, and if you want you can begin with the caregivers/quality of life subsection. --Garrondo (talk) 07:25, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
Hope you had a good break ! L∴V 11:21, 16 July 2009 (UTC)

And into FAC

So far ... it's great when this collaborating thing is in full swing - I just had a break a coffee and then sat down to address cryptos new points - when walla! You'd already addressed mmost of them - and Axl had been along to refine some points ... :) L∴V 14:38, 24 July 2009 (UTC)

And Out of FAC

Ok, I hope you're sitting their saying 'I told you so!' :) thanks for all your efforts, encouragement and optimism. I bought the Walker book a few years ago and it had some info about HD in it which was important to understanding the disease but when I searched the net - could I find it ? But the HD article I did find and it had some info I did not know, now after our efforts I believe we have left as easily accessible a version of the full facts as anywhere, the hopes site is pretty good and the info is out there, but in such succint and verifiable a form to a lay person. I believe we have made our mark and brings answers to those who seek it ( as you say 3/4,000 people a day - thats over a million a year ), who knows may even inspire someone to get involved finding a cure. Great stuff :) Cracking open a beer and a smoke, peace. L∴V 23:38, 5 August 2009 (UTC)

I am wondering if you could give the editors of this page a second opinion? I am not sure it is up to GA status yet but have already failed it once. Thanks --Doc James (talk · contribs · email) 07:40, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

Verbal Fluency Test

Thanks for reviewing my contribution to the VFT entry, I'm glad you found it helpful. Concerning the exemplar data you deleted. As you noted, this is real data taken from the two published studies of ours that I added in the reference list. It hadn't occurred to me that there might be an issue under the NOR policy, so thanks for pointing that out. Unfortunately our published papers did not include exemplar raw data, so instead I'll look through the various papers I cited to see if there is anything that could be used as a direct quotation. By the way, I am thinking of including an examplar diagram showing the clustering of semantic terms, but first I'll need to figure out how to simultaneously satisfy the copyright rules and NOR rule :-). I'll also think about adding some production data (with citation) as you suggested. Tonyprescott (talk) 14:47, 8 June 2009 (UTC)

I have added a diagram of a hierarchical clustering analysis of animal data. Hope you like it. The analysis is taken from figure 2 of our 2003 paper, but substantially redrafted (as a semicircular array) to avoid issues of copyright. Since this is based on existing data and has a citation I hope you agree that it satisfies the NOR policy. Tonyprescott (talk) 01:08, 9 June 2009 (UTC)

Thank you allot for the important remarks you made regarding the citation of the article, and I reverted all edits I made and I ll start all over again, just please tell me, how can you get the lancet article?? did you buy the article?? MaenK.A.Talk 23:26, 2 July 2009 (UTC)
