Proposed deletion of non-noteworthy page
[edit]The article Mothin Ali has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
not noteworthy
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}

Non-noteworthy. City councillors are not noteowrthy per se. Holds no higher office; just a ward councillor Mtaylor848 (talk) 09:59, 20 July 2024 (UTC)

- Comment: Simply not meeting WP:NPOL does not itself make a person non-notable. Can the nominator clarify how they think this subject does not met WP:GNG? Curbon7 (talk) 00:20, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
- What exactly is the claim to notability? As far as I can see the page is about a city councillor; which in itself is not noteworthy. He has no other office or anything else which suggests noteworthiness. Mtaylor848 (talk) 01:03, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
- Again, despite not meeting NPOL, municipal politicians can still be notable through WP:GNG if there is sufficient significant coverage of them. Curbon7 (talk) 01:50, 21 July 2024 (UTC)

- I would lean towards keep, since becoming a councillor just a couple of months ago he has made national headlines about two different incidents. Orange sticker (talk) 09:01, 21 July 2024 (UTC)
- Keep. I would add a couple more to the sources in the article [1][2]. In my opinion this is enough to pass WP:GNG. Tau Corvi (talk) 20:46, 22 July 2024 (UTC)
- Keep I agree that not all councillors are notable, but I think GNG has been reached - this includes hid gardening (I'm sure he was on Gardener's World in the pandemic), but there is coverage here, here & here from 2022 Lajmmoore (talk) 18:08, 24 July 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Request for Explanation on Speedy Deletion Tag Placement on Draft:Lobola Man
I noticed that a speedy deletion tag has been placed on a draft article I am currently working on, which is about a notable movie. I am writing to request clarification regarding the reason for this decision, as I believe the subject of the draft meets Wikipedia's notability guidelines for films.
I believe that the draft aligns with Wikipedia's content policies and guidelines, including verifiability, neutrality, and notability.
I would appreciate it if you could provide more details as i am still working on the draft
Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response.

IPs making test edits
[edit]Hi, I see you've been handing out WP:G2 notices to IP editors. There's a specific welcome in Twinkle for IP editors who have made test edits - I encourage you to use this instead of the default in these cases, since it is much better targetted to the actual editing the IP has done. Example here: User talk:68.33.53.77. -- asilvering (talk) 20:05, 11 September 2024 (UTC)
Transparency Act moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Transparency Act. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. TarnishedPathtalk 01:58, 29 September 2024 (UTC)
Aquatic Paradise
[edit]Heya,
I saw you tagged Aquatic Paradise with a PROD tag, and I was just about to CSD tag under G11, I just wanted your thoughts on the matter, as their username also implies they may have a conflict of interest/paid interest in editing. Zippybonzo | talk | contribs (they/them) 18:48, 4 October 2024 (UTC)

Velella Velella Talk 09:33, 16 October 2024 (UTC)Speedy deletion nomination of George L. Bakris
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on George L. Bakris requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person, a group of people, an individual animal, an organization (band, club, company, etc.), web content, or an organized event that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have an expanded level of powers and discretion in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practices;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures, you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
You have recently made edits related to articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. This is a standard message to inform you that articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles is a designated contentious topic. This message does not imply that there are any issues with your editing. For more information about the contentious topics system, please see Wikipedia:Contentious topics. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 23:46, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
Question
[edit]Hi. I just received a message from you about an edit of mine being removed from Talk:2024_Trump_rally_at_Madison_Square_Garden, but I don't think I've ever made an edit to the talk page. Is this an error? Great Mercian (talk) 15:43, 29 October 2024 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Draft:Epic Homes, LLC
[edit]Hello Folkezoft, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Draft:Epic Homes, LLC, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Author has not requested deletion, or other users have added substantial content. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. ThadeusOfNazereth(he/him)Talk to Me! 23:35, 7 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Folkezoft, in addition to the above I've declined a number of your G11s just now. Please ensure that you are fully aware of the CSD criteria before you add tags, as these were not correct. See my edit summaries for particular rationales. Thanks, Pickersgill-Cunliffe (talk) 13:20, 9 November 2024 (UTC)
