Thanks, and a note
First of all, thanks for the barnstar! I really appreciate it! I do request though that you make sure to mark a page as "patrolled" when tagging it for speedy deletion. Thanks :) --allthefoxes (Talk) 00:52, 29 December 2015 (UTC)
- @Allthefoxes: First, you're welcome! Second, I use Twinkle for most of my tagging but if something pops up on Huggle I tag it through huggle. I'm not sure if Huggle marks CSDs as patrolled but after this message it evidently doesn't. I'll ask for that in a feature request when I have time. You should look into getting rollback, as much as I like Stiki I think Huggle is a lot more effective (but I'm a little biased). Thanks, and all the best, Ethan. Sorry you left a message on my page about the edit I made. I am not used to messaging on this format and am more used to editing on wikis. I am actually an editor on the Harry Potter Wiki and you msged me about me editing the muggle page. It was actually announced by J.k Rowling
on November 5th that the American version of the word muggle is a ¨no-maj¨ as in no magic and that the term muggle is a pretty muched used only in the UK. In the new upcoming Harry Potter prequel movie ,Fantastic Beast And Where to find them, which takes place in New York 1926 the term no-maj is used frequently by american wizards instead of the word muggle. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.218.27.80 (talk) 03:18, 11 February 2016 (UTC)
Helmond Train Station
Fair game removing my post. I was going to change it after screen grabbing the original post for fun. On a serious note, Taxis at the train station are a joke. I sat there waiting for 45 mins last year and people should know that there are no services for last mile connections. If I had read this that would be helpful information. Maybe you could look into this and find out what they do provide in regards to Taxis.
Betty Boop
Hi. If Betty Boop was fashioned after Helen Kane, who copied her style and voice from "Baby Esther" Jones, who sang in the Cotton Club, then why isn't Esther Jones given any credit or royalties for the Betty Boop character, since she is the Original inspiration for the voice, song, look, and character????? Lazy Dog
Howdy. A quick read of the Z v. S fuse articles, as well as the illustration referenced will show why the lazy dog gets a 'Z' fuze. Air Force v. air force: Caps are standard use for the USAF as opposed to a generic air force. I'm not interested in a revision war and would enjoy hearing your input otherwise, will revert.

You Have No Right to Edit This Page
You have no right to edit this page about Laszlo Csatary. Most of what is on this page is fabrication. You do not know what you are talking about in this case. If you want the truth read the book listed there otherwise leave the page alone. I will be monitoring this page weekly from now on to avoid any sabotage or erasure of the truth here. Who are you to make a judgement in this case? Are you working for someone? Do not mess with other people's lives when you don't know what you are doing? There are now legal consequences...even in your country!
- First of all, I have every right to edit any page on Wikipedia. You can't stop me from editing a page. Second, "There are now legal consequences...even in your country!" sounds like a legal threat. Read WP:LEGAL. Eteethan(talk)🎄 16:33, 3 January 2016 (UTC)

Questions and comments
Here's a comment because you said that I could do this so technically you can't report me for asking you a question leaving a comment when you said I could do that. Ok here it is- vandalism is leaving something in appropriate on a webpage or the side of a building or something. This isn't vandalism. Call it what you want but it's not vandalism. It's an innocent joke, an informative notation, etc. but it isn't vandalism. I'm not mad at this, and I won't do it on your page again, but I would still like to tell you that I'm not meaning any trouble and it's all just a "joke" Judy.taco (talk) 16:44, 3 January 2016 (UTC)

You Do Not Have the Right to Suppress the Truth
You do not have the right to suppress the truth. That is illegal. You do not know what you are talking about in this case. If you persist in vandalizing this entry you will need a lot of money to deal with possible legal consequences. Documented evidence proves my edit correct. Do not touch it. - I have edited your contribution at László Csatáry to conform to Wikipedia's requirements for sourcing and neutral point of view. We cannot say in the voice of the encyclopedia that László Csatáry is innocent. We can say only that an author wrote a book in which he claims to offer documentation to show that he is, and we must supply a reference to show that such a book exists and that it makes that claim. I have modified your contribution to conform to both of these requirements. You must stop threatening other editors here, legally or otherwise, especially when it is you who are contributing edits to the encyclopedia that violate Wikipedia's policies described above. List of IndyCar Series Teams
Hi Eteethan, I noticed that you reverted all of my edits on the List of IndyCar Series teams page, saying that they weren't constructive. The reason that I made those edits was because a large majority of the information was either outdated, or seemed unnecessary. A fellow editor edited the article after my edits were undone and updated the section, so I have no desire to have my edits replaced or returned to the article, but I am still unsure as to why my edits were removed. Thank you for your help. 173.67.173.109 (talk) 00:48, 6 January 2016 (UTC)
- Removing content and replacing it with "None" is very suspicious. Instead of doing this maybe start a discussion on the talk page. Eteethan(talk) 20:04, 6 January 2016 (UTC)
- The reason that I put "none" there was because there really weren't any at the present time, but there may be some in the future. And the talk page hasn't been used in nine years, but I see what you are saying. 173.67.173.109 (talk) 20:24, 6 January 2016 (UTC)
U.S. Route 178
Hi Eteethan, This is my first time and I'm not sure I understand all instructions. Thank you for your patience. On Dec 22, 2015, I noticed that a portion of information in the "History" section of "U.S. Route 178" that was missing from what I had read many times in the past. See below:
US 178 is built along one of the OLDEST NATIVE AMERICAN PATHS IN THE SOUTHEAST. It is recorded by the Smithsonian Institution's Bureau of Ethnology's 42nd Annual Report, 1924-1925 in a 1923 map section about the Indian trails of the southeast by William E. Myer. It is labeled trail #81 and starts at present-day Charleston and comes inland through Dorchester to the town of Orangeburg, S.C. along present-day US 178 until it intersects with present-day I-20 running from Columbia to Augusta. From this point, upcountry, US 178 has varied in its modern route from the route of the ancient trail though sections of it are still the same as the trail.
Presently it reads as follows: US 178 is built along and starts at present-day Charleston and comes inland through Dorchester to the town of Orangeburg, S.C. along present-day US 178 until it intersects with present-day I-20 running from Columbia to Augusta. From this point, upcountry, US 178 has varied in its modern route from the route of the ancient trail though sections of it are still the same as the trail.
The lines missing were as follows:
one of the OLDEST NATIVE AMERICAN PATHS IN THE SOUTHEAST. It is recorded by the Smithsonian Institution's Bureau of Ethnology's 42nd Annual Report, 1924-1925 in a 1923 map section about the Indian trails of the southeast by William E. Myer. It is labeled trail #81
I saw where I was allowed to edit and tried to correct this, just as it was originally. I then received a message that stated it appeared to be "non constructive". If I may be allowed, please refer to the source of information where the fact that was omitted is found on page 447 from the book <Annual report of the Bureau of American Ethnology to the Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution> as being labeled as Road #81, "The trail from Charleston to Fort Charlotte". A map is included on the next page illustrating <The Trail System of the Southeastern United States in the early Colonial Period by W.E. Myer in 1923>.
Other sources of use and description about this ancient trial can be found in the book, <Indians and Artifacts in the Southeast by Bert W. Bierer>. Also in the year 1770 parts of this Indian trail was constructed into a road as found in the <Statues at Large of South Carolina, Acts relating to Roads, Bridges and Ferries, page 233 Roman Numeral I>. The road can be seen in use during the Amerian Revolution, with one source one being the book <Ninety Six: The Struggle for the South Carolina Back Country" by Robert D. Bass> when Lord Rawdon was on this way from Charleston through Orangeburg to Fort Ninety Six to relieve Col. Cruger. <Maps used as an instrument for teaching in schools> show Lord Rawdon used the very road that matches with the route of what is now part of Highway 178.
History is amazing to see and Wikipedia is a wonderful source for many people to see what once was. I would like to urge you to reconsider returning the omitted information that matches with the Bureau of Ethnology dated 1924-1925 to the Wikipedia website about Highway 178 under the category "History".
Thank you so much for your time and consideration in this matter. 173.93.155.211 (talk) 13:12, 6 January 2016 (UTC) [Special:Contributions/173.93.155.211|173.93.155.211]] (talk) 13:12, 6 January 2016 (UTC)

Richview Middle School
Richview Middle School is a real and public school. I don't understand why we can't make a wiki for our school. Darre123 (talk) 02:15, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
- You certainly can if you can find reliable sources to show that the school is notable. See WP:RS and WP:Notable. I redirected the article because as it stood there was no claim to notability, and it's standard procedure to redirect new articles about non-notable schools (less than high schools) to the school board or town. If the school is notable then by all means write the article in your user space and have it moved back over the redirect. The mere existence of a middle school is not sufficient to show notability though. Meters (talk) 02:22, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
What's the purpose of your changes to this? I redirected a completely non-notable middle school article to the school board rather than having it deleted. There seems to be no point in labelling a redirect as a stub since there is nothing to expand. There's only slightly more use in labelling it as an orphan. Why ask people to track down any references to this school just so they can add a link to a redirect? The only article I see that refers to this school is the school board article, which would make for a circular redirect. The only other likely article is the town article, which does not list any middle schools. As for expanding "Redr" to "This is a redirect" they both expand to exactly the same thing, but knock yourself out. Meters (talk) 02:16, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
- I left the tags on the redirect in case there's something I'm missing. Meters (talk) 02:58, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
- @Meters: AWB often insists on these little changes, like changing "cn" to "citation needed". I didn't mean to add the stub and orphan tags, as I'm still getting used to this software. Eteethan(talk) 12:27, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
- No problem. I was afraid I was missing something. I see someone else has removed the orphan and stub tags in the meantime (and fixed my formatting blunder too). Meters (talk) 21:49, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
- Great, and sorry for the inconvenience. Eteethan(talk) 21:49, 8 January 2016 (UTC)

Picture Consequences
It's a game that indisputably has a wide variety of names, and it seems unhelpful for wikipedia to pretend that's the only name. In particular it's unfriendly for search engines as these alternate names are just as likely to be search terms as the "picture consequences" name - in particular as that name is ambiguous. Boardgame geek is fairly encyclopedic on this matter, I simply selected the names from their list that I have encountered it under most frequently. Fatphil (talk) 22:51, 8 January 2016 (UTC)
Wael Sharaf page deletion
Hello
I wrote an article about the Syrian actor Wael Sharaf, and it's was deleted by Bbb23 and I don't know the real reason behind it, because I can find other articles about Syrian actors on wikipedia. Therefor I want and answer for my question and I hope we can bring the article back again, because he is one of the most popular actor in the Arab world. By the way, I'm in touch with the actor himself and I have all rights to share information about him.

Why remove tag, instead of using a template?
Hi Eteethan, I saw only your first edit in my watchlist, and it was only after I edited the article that I realized that had been a little edit war going on in the meantime. Was that necessary? Did you disagree with them on the substance or only on the form? If the latter, why didn't you simply put the right template in in the first place and thank the editor for pointing it out? — Sebastian 00:38, 14 January 2016 (UTC)

Regarding Anna Rezan Wikipedia page.
Good morning Wish this finds you well. We have no idea why Rezan's page is subject to deletetion and why you consider our corrects not constructive. Rezan is a respectable artist with significant work with significant people. To be frank ,one of the ten approx, Greek artist that work internationally (since the 70s) and that have been featured in major Greek and International publications. Also the correction were confirmed with her PR rep and she agrees to them. That the text should be smaller and more simple and particular. Thank you. PS:ALso,The only reason we've been removing deletion notices is that they're being made by unregistered users and/or competitors that try to rate it as of not of high interest. If the notice was placed by an admin, we would be looking to improve the page as per their guidelines - however, we've been far too busy removing erroneous additions and edits by unregistered users.
If the page could be protected, we would be able to update it as per your guidelines PS2:The page has tones of visit, we do not know if you can see that and we have been receiving fantastic feedback. Also this page was not created by us,but from other users.

Reverting my edit
Hello Eteethan, why did you revert my edit at RS-24_Yars three minutes later and then accuse me of being "unconstructive"? Think about it: refueling a solid-fuel rocket makes no sense. Take some time to study the topic before blaming me. In my opinion the stupid STiki tool needs to be used by intelligent human with discernment. Boevaya mashina (talk) 20:46, 23 January 2016 (UTC)

- @Boevaya mashina: Hi. First of all, your edit was not vandalism. Sometimes accidental reverts happen. Second, I might be understanding you incorrectly but when you said, "In my opinion the stupid STiki tool needs to be used by intelligent human with discernment," that implies that I am not intelligent, which is a violation of WP:CIVIL. STiki has been made 880,000 successful reverts. Thanks, Ethan. Eteethan(talk) 19:54, 25 January 2016 (UTC)
- Thank you for replying and undoing. I am sorry for possibly having expressed me wrong. I ment, if someone uses such an automated tool, he has to be careful and has to check. As far as I understood the STiki system, it is the tool that gives a warning but the human has to use his intelligence to decide. What I really don't like is, what you have written on top of this page: "If you think that your edit was correct, try again". So you reserve the right to do mistakes but the other has to work to undo your fail. On STiki: I have not seen any vandalism at all on Wp yet. Does STiki also count unsuccessful reverts? If yes, how? --Boevaya mashina (talk) 22:49, 25 January 2016 (UTC)

Waking Down
Hello Eteethan, Thank you for caring for this page and ensuring changes made are accurate. The Waking Down Teachers Association changed its name to the Trillium Awakening Teachers Circle, and I wanted the Wikipedia page on Waking Down to reflect that fact. The context is thoroughly detailed at http://www.trilliumawakening.org/in-depth-history/. Could you kindly review and restore the edits I made, or let me know what else is needed to proceed? Wander Over Yonder Season 2 Synopsis Addding (When to add them appropriately, meant also for Geraldo)
Hi Eteethen,
I have a similar message with Geraldo about something to do with adding the synopsis before the eps. premiere as the press release have been updated just now:
"Geraldo,
What do you recommend when it comes to putting in the Synopsis? There are sources I found that I can add to the summaries for each upcoming episodes of Wander Over Yonder:
and
http://www.disneyabcpress.com/disneyxd/
Both updated the info of each episodes and synopsis. And they are reliable sources. Would putting in the exact same words infringe on what kind of summaries would be about? In the past, the summaries were added BEFORE the episodes aired. But deleting them until it airs seemed like it doesn't make sense that way. Paraphrasing I tried, but seemed that it's deemed not constructive enough.
Just wondering this notion."

Hi there Eteethan,
This is the American Film Institute (AFI) and we are updating our wikipedia pages for our upcoming 50th anniversary. Within the AFI Lifetime Achievement Award page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AFI_Life_Achievement_Award#Televised_Broadcast), there lies a section titled Notable Emissions. This section, which is not only using the wrong word, as well as a part of the section above it, seem to be filled with passive aggressive conjecture when describing certain directors and actors that have not been selected to receive our award. We do not believe this information to have any particular relevance to the article as a whole, as there is not a section within the Academy Awards wikipedia page for artists that have not received Oscar nominations. Please let me know if this can be remedied and how we can go about correcting this page as soon as possible.
Thank you, AFI Social Media Team

Please unrevert my change, as I was correcting an error.
In the Galvant entry, Madalena specifically said that she was there to see the DEL, and then clarified to the servent that it stood for Dark Evil Lord as a specific character name/title. This is in line with other acronyms used on the show like D'DEW (Dark, Dark Evil Ways). Whoever created the original entry had entered it wrong "The Dark Lord" doesn't fit with the acronym the show used, which (pending renewal) could play into jokes and rhymes for DEL (like it did for D'DEW).
- Well, I haven't gotten to that episode so I guess it's fine. Eteethan(talk) 12:03, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

Espresso Martini
Instead of blankly changing pages that have been edited, perhaps you should consider checking WHY they have been edited? 1, the changing of 'shot' to 'short' was reverting a previous vandalization, something you seem to have been fine with? 2, the IBA recipe, which the wikipedia guidelines clearly state is to be used when one exists, clearly state 'short', not 'shot'. 3, an espresso does not COME in 'shots'. A small espresso is, however, known as a 'short' one. 85.229.56.88 (talk) 22:15, 3 February 2016 (UTC)
- First of all, you really need to take a deep breath. Second, according to many sources, espresso comes in shots. According to the IBA, this is the proper recipe however this gives you no excuse to yell at me like this. Try a edit summary next time. Please don't accuse me of being fine with vandalism (when you said
reverting a previous vandalization, something you seem to have been fine with?
) without taking a look at my userpage. It shows that I am, in fact, very active in counter vandalism on Wikipedia. Take a look at Wikipedia:Mistakes are allowed before you reply. Eteethan(talk) 22:33, 3 February 2016 (UTC)- "Try a edit summary next time." You mean like the one I used, and you didn't bother checking? One of those. Stepping straight to 'I changed what you did because it looked like vandalism' without actually checking what I did or why? Instead of telling me to be calm, perhaps you should consider acting a bit more professionally? Attention: Potions in Harry Potter will be placed for AfD on June 4, 2016
(You are receiving this notice due to your having made some edits to the article discussed or its talk page sometime during its history)
In November of 2007 Potions in Harry Potter was deleted as a the result of a deletion discussion due to its failure of WP:FICT, WP:PLOT, WP:WAF, and other issues. On June 4, 2015 the article was recreated from content then currently existing on the Magical objects in Harry Potter article. A discussion followed regarding the appropriateness of the recreation. An attempt was made to return this article to a redirect, which was undone a day later. Some months later, a notice was placed on the article's talk page indicating the article would be placed for deletion. A few days ago, the article was placed for proposed deletion. This too was undone.
Throughout the history of the article, which spans more than a decade, it has never had any references. It has always been written in in-universe style. No outside universe perspective has ever been provided. As of June 2016, it will have been tagged for both of these problems for a year. I have asked, begged, and pleaded with people to rewrite this article to no avail. As the article stands (and has always stood), it continues to fail WP:FICT, WP:PLOT, and WP:WAF. There have been suggestions to merge the content back to Magical objects in Harry Potter, but this completely fails to address the failures noted. Where the content exists, either in its own article or as part of another, matters not. The issue is the content itself.
Barring a massive rewrite of the entire article into something that is encyclopedic in its treatment of the subject, I will be placing it for deletion on June 4, 2016. This notice is being sent as a last ditch attempt to find one or more people willing to do something to fix the serious problems extant in this content. Thank you for your attention, --Hammersoft (talk) 17:19, 4 April 2016 (UTC)
DRN help needed and volunteer roll call
You are receiving this message because you have listed yourself on the list of volunteers at Wikipedia:Dispute resolution noticeboard/Volunteering#List of the DRN volunteers.
First, assistance is needed at DRN. We have recently closed a number of cases without any services being provided for lack of a volunteer willing to take the case. There are at least three cases awaiting a volunteer at this moment. Please consider taking one.
Second, this is a volunteer roll call. If you remain interested in helping at DRN and are willing to actively do so by taking at least one case (and seeing it through) or helping with administrative matters at least once per calendar month, please add your name to this roll call list. Individuals currently on the principal volunteer list who do not add their name on the roll call list will be removed from the principal volunteer list after June 30, 2016 unless the DRN Coordinator chooses to retain their name for the best interest of DRN or the encyclopedia. Individuals whose names are removed after June 30, 2016, should feel free to re-add their names to the principal volunteer list, but are respectfully requested not to do so unless they are willing to take part at DRN at least one time per month as noted above. No one is going to be monitoring to see if you live up to that commitment, but we respectfully ask that you either live up to it or remove your name from the principal volunteer list.

New Page Review needs your help
Hi Eteethan,
As an AfC reviewer you're probably aware that a new user right has been created for patrolling new pages (you might even have been granted the right already, and admins have it automatically).
Since July there has been a very serious backlog at Special:NewPagesFeed of over 14,000 pages, by far the worst since 2011, and we need an all out drive to get this back down to just a few hundred that can be easily maintained in the future. Unlike AfC, these pages are already in mainspace, and the thought of what might be there is quite scary. There are also many good faith article creators who need a simple, gentle push to the Tea House or their pages converted to Draft rather than being deleted.
Although New Page Reviewing can occasionally be somewhat more challenging than AfC, the criteria for obtaining the right are roughly the same. The Page Curation tool is even easier to use than the Helper Script, so it's likely that most AfC reviewers already have more than enough knowledge for the task of New Page Review.
It is hoped that AfC reviewers will apply for this right at WP:PERM and lend a hand. You'll need to have read the page at WP:NPR and the new tutorial.

- Even if you don't like what someone is saying, you can't say things like this in an article. Eteethan(talk) 00:43, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
Edit on OurHarvest
Hi Eteethan, could you please provide clarification for why my edit is considered "unconstructive"? The article is flagged for having multiple issues, including content written like an advertisement. The content I removed is a list of publications where the organization is mentioned. I find this specific content to be non-encyclopedic, and feel it should not be included. Thank you. - Fixed This was clearly promotional; however it is often suspicious when such a large deletion is made.Eteethan(talk) 23:14, 23 May 2017 (UTC)
