Patrolling

Hi. Some of your AIV reports may not be sufficiently accurate although you have been accorded special rights by some admins. Also, once you have made a report, even if you are badgered by the reported user it's probably best to ignore it and let the admins do the rest. Keep AIV on your wl and see what kind of success rate you are achieving and if you need any help don't hesitate to ask. Happy editing! --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 07:02, 14 December 2014 (UTC)

NotTechimo

Hello, regarding this user NotTechimo, he was warned for edit warring as IP 71.235.154.73 ([revision regarding edit war warning], but then he registered today the new account NotTechimo. Thank you. Techimo (talk) 05:01, 18 December 2014 (UTC)

The person waring with me (Techimo) is the former owner of the business. He simply will not allow anything that isn't glowing PR about the company into the article. I've tried to discuss this with him and he ignores the factual content and instead tries to spin that my edits represent a COI. If the former owner of a business removing factual edits by others isn't a COI, then I don't understand the term "conflict of interest." NotTechimo (talk) 15:27, 18 December 2014 (UTC)

Missing step in NAC

I don't mind the non-admin closure of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Philip Nelson (professor) but when you do that can you make sure to remove the AfD template from the nominated page and copy the Old AfD template from it into the talk page? That didn't happen in this case, I'm guessing because of the page moves that happened after the nomination. —David Eppstein (talk) 03:30, 16 March 2015 (UTC)

Money Free Party

Hi there, I was editing the above entry and you revert all the changes. Can you please let me know why? There a few mistakes in there that I was trying to fix. Thank you Andrei — Preceding unsigned comment added by Andrei MFP (talkcontribs) 14:19, 16 March 2015 (UTC)

@Andrei MFP: If you're talking about this, firstly, I suggest that you write it in the third person. Also, since Wikipedia is not a soapbox, you should report objectively about the beliefs of the Money Free Party from a neutral point of view. However, you appear to be closely connected to the subject (edit summary). Therefore, you should familiarize yourself with the core content policies, as it is easier for edits to articles that you're closely connected with to include bias and lack verifiability. However, you still can and are encouraged to edit the Money Free Party article as you may be able to expand the article more easily then non-connected editors, as soon as the newly added content is supported by reliable sources and you keep the content policies in mind. Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia (your recent edit is definitely not inferior, it just needs to be more neutral)! Esquivalience t 01:01, 18 March 2015 (UTC)

Christian Terrorism

I'd like you to please reconsider your non-admin closure of this article's AfD. The closing commentary ventured that many of the delete votes were concerned with original research, which you argued could be solved with normal editing. I would argue that the core of our opposition to that article are that it is a gross, indeed archetypical, example of WP:SYNTH and (IMO) WP:BOLLOCKS descendant from a lack of credible neutral resources. Unlike original research, these are not surmountable with normal editing because they are ingrained in the premise of the article title itself. Basically, it's a scurrilous smear article that has no place on a reputable encyclopedia. Pax 05:12, 26 March 2015 (UTC)

Revert of your WP:NAC closures of Christian Terrorism

Your are not an Admin as per policy non admins .extra care should be taken if a closure may be controversial or not clearly unambiguous. With the understanding that the closure may be reversed, non-admins should generally avoid closing such discussions. The nominated item is a controversial topic. This may be indicated by the broad topic area, related discussions, and previous XfDThat the item meets appropriate closure is a close call, for example, does "10-2" in favor of keep count as "nearly unanimous"? This article has been gone to Mediation and your NAC closure is totally wrong. This is very close debate want an admin to close it hence reverted you.

Hello. WP:NACD is the actual guideline on non-admin closures. It says:
@Valetta66:@Раціональне анархіст: Although the AfD is moderately controversial, I refrained from closing it until I saw the weakness of the arguments for deletion. Most of them are based on the article having original research and original synthesis, and that is not a valid deletion criterion because the problems can be fixed through normal editing (see WP:BEFORE, section c1). Because of the weakness of the arguments from the delete "side", there was consensus as the keep side (although there were some that offered weak rationales) offered valid arguments (mainly that the subject is notable). In this case, I would ignore all rules because of the consensus to keep due to the arguments from the delete side (mostly) being based on an invalid rationale. You must understand that consensus is not a head count. See WP:CONSENSUS for more information. Esquivalience t 11:45, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
You decide arguments on one side are "weak" (in your opinion), ignore the fact that most of the keep votes offer very weak rationales, and therefore take it upon yourself to close the AfD? And you don't revert it when you're asked, twice? BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 12:01, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
@Valetta66:@Раціональне анархіст:@Bastion: Here's a breakdown of all the votes, and their weaknesses and strengths:
Extended content
  • Delete. This article is a NPOV mess involving synthesis and fringe views presented on a par with mainstream views, in contravention of WP:UNDUE and giving false balance. As an example, conflicts such as The Troubles were ethno-nationalist in nature, and are described as such by the vast majority of expert commentators. The existence of remarks by a tiny minority of commentators claiming it was partly religious in nature are used to justify the inclusion of a whole section on The Troubles in the article. "As Per MOS if a group calls itself Christian it will be called Christian on Wikipedia." - quite possibly. But none of the various IRAs, the INLA, or the vast majority of Loyalist terrorists identified themselves as "Christian". The Orange groups that apparently did call themselves Christian had so minor a role they barely featured. By the same token, Anders Breivik described himself as "not very religious", but gets included? Likewise, much of the Indian events and actors seem - on the evidence presented in the article - to be unsourced, only peripherally touching on Christianity, or terrorism for that matter. Ultimately, the article seems to be a collection of disjointed events that might, in some cases, involve some people who might be Christians, and/or might be terrorists, with not that many reliable sources to back up the assertions. BastunĖġáḍβáś₮ŭŃ! 15:51, 19 March 2015 (UTC) - real concerns about the article, but they can be fixed through normal editing. Wikipedia is a indefinite work in progress.
  • keep - the article is kind of a mess. but not a reason for deletion. someone needs to take a good look at it though and improve it. per WP:GNG.--BabbaQ (talk) 17:18, 19 March 2015 (UTC) - Slightly weak rationale, cites the WP:GNG, but doesn't clearly say why it does.
  • Delete, and nail the lid shut. This article exists for exactly one reason: to serve as a WP:COATRACK. Do other religions have similar articles? WP:OTHERSTUFF. (And I shouldn't have to belabor the obvious, that Jesus was a pacifist, whereas the founders of some other religions were decidedly not, and hence any alleged "Christians" committing terrorism are bullshitting.) Pax 03:10, 20 March 2015 (UTC) - again, problems can be fixed through normal editing.
Reply wrong argument Article was created in 2004 that is 11 years ago and requests for more time is wrong argument as per WP:MERCY and other endless discussions and mediation for 6 months have come to nothing and only reinforce that is WP:OR and WP:SYNTH.Valetta66 (talk) 13:40, 20 March 2015 (UTC) - rationale edit
  • Keep. No true Scotsman arguments about whether terrorists are actually Christian are irrelevant. The topic obviously has coverage in reliable sources; for example, [2] from Slate.com, and [3] from Salon.com. If the article is problematic, then it can be cleaned up through normal editing. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 13:56, 20 March 2015 (UTC) - Offers a rationale based on notability, however the reliability of the cited sources is challenged.
  • delete The Slate and Salon pieces are editorials and lack a neutral tone, and that's really the problem all around in this. Wikipedia's articles on religious terrorism (and the Christianity one is particularly bad on this) are heavily driven by a POV that views religion as a menace. It's particularly obvious in the lack of an atheist terrorism article, and my guess is that the other religious terrorism articles suffer to some degree or another from the same fault. There are endless arguments over specific cases and a determined ignorance of problems such as that in N. Ireland the religious parties were surrogates for the underlying political contest (our own articles on the matter say as much). Mangoe (talk) 17:10, 20 March 2015 (UTC) - Challenges the Slate and Salon sources, but they are not the only sources that cover Christian terrorism.
  • Strong Keep - As per WP:NOTCENSORED, nothing should be censored in Wikipedia, just because it offends a few groups. Also, there are hundred references, most of them are researched books, which means, this article is highly sourced and referenced with reliable sources. So, deleting this will be a mockery of what wikipedia stands for. - Vatsan34 (talk) 17:37, 20 March 2015 (UTC) - Offers an argument based on notability, citing the references that cover this topic in the article (not all cover the topic directly, but they are enough to prove notability).
  • Keep - Clean it up. Stub it if you must but there is enough material out there to support and sustain this topic in an NPOV way. Jbh (talk) 10:39, 21 March 2015 (UTC) - weak rationale, but at least states that problems can be fixed through normal editing.
  • Delete WP:COATRACK, involving WP:OR, WP:SYNTH and some serious WP:CHERRYPICKING. To put this disgrace of an article together, editors roped together Guy Fawkes' failed participation in an international power struggle, the racism of the Ku Klux Klan, Lebanon's Maronite, Sunni, Shia power struggle, and even - Lord help us - Anders Behring Breivik. If that isn't enough unrelated material hung on this WP:COATRACK, the article wades into the intricate complexities of hill tribes, the Hindu expansion, colonization, identity and power in eastern India. Problem is that there is little beyond a couple of opinion columns and the fact that individuals and groups of of Christian background were involved in movements with little else connecting them. Certainly no body of theoretical work on the relationship between Christianity and the choice terrorism as a tactic is cited. Nor am I aware that such a literature exists.E.M.Gregory (talk) 01:01, 22 March 2015 (UTC) - problems can be fixed with normal editing, except for the last three sentences which gives that there is no body of theoretical work on the relationship between Christianity and the choice terrorism as a tactic exists. But it's not proven.
  • Delete per nom. In some incidents the perpetrators seem to be fighting each other about the identities that they hold about themselves and not about the religion in particular. ༆ (talk) 06:17, 23 March 2015 (UTC) - delete per nom, based on nominator's statement, concurs with it.
  • Delete This article is certainly against WP's neutrality policies. It also fails to substantiate how it's cited terrorist instances are consistent with historical Christianity. No element of that religion compels it's followers by instruction from their holy book to carry out heinous crimes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nathankyle2188 (talkcontribs) 19:15, 23 March 2015 (UTC) - problems can be fixed through normal editing
  • Keep The nominating statement is flawed as it is the editor's opinion that Christianity had nothing to do with the acts. Also, it seems WP:BEFORE wasn't done. [4], [5], [6] --NeilN talk to me 13:20, 26 March 2015 (UTC) - cites sources on the notability. The opinion part can be ignored for the purposes of this.
  • Delete per Bastun and E.M.Gregory. As synthesis and and fringe views presented on a par with mainstream views and WP:UNDUE and giving false balance. Further the very basic definition or what is implied or what is Christian Terrorism is not yet defined despite over 3 months of mediation now suspended and this article has been there for ages almost a decade over 11 years.Further no Global view of Christian Terrorism is given the article a maze of local conflicts which are ethno-nationalist conflicts ,insurgencies which are clearly not Religious and in no way can the violence be justified by religion or any tenat of religion. All these local have standalone articles which is fine but to club all of them together as Christian Terrorism is original research .Pharaoh of the Wizards (talk) 15:50, 26 March 2015 (UTC) - problems can be fixed through normal editing.
  • Keep - The nominating statement is from a non-neutral POV. Though your opinion seems like an obvious truth to you, it may not be so obvious from another POV, and would need deeper explanation. As such, this topic should be addressed on Wikipedia. The content entirely depends on what consensus finds are reliable sources. I agree that it should be written from a more NPOV than it is presently. Mamyles (talk) 16:04, 26 March 2015 (UTC) - weak
Please address the issues raised by User:Pharaoh of the Wizards and others, so that we can move this conversation forward.E.M.Gregory (talk) 19:36, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
Although there are many weak or slightly weak rationales from both sides, some of the keep votes in particular cite notability and the fact that the problems can be fixed with normal editing as the reason to keep (which are valid rationales). However, with the amount of controversy as indicated by the bluntness and this argument, I refrain from this dispute. Esquivalience t 20:41, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
Comment: But there is no notability because, while there exists a smattering of POV magazine editorials miserably attempting to establish a smear meme, there are no suitable, unbiased sources. Quoting E.M.Gregory: "Certainly no body of theoretical work on the relationship between Christianity and the choice terrorism as a tactic is cited. Nor am I aware that such a literature exists." -- Given the incendiary "attack" nature of the article's title, we should require authoritative sources. Pax 22:21, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
The difficulty that I perceive in the Keep votes is lies in the assertion that this article CAN be improved. The article on Islamic terrorism (which I have proposed moving to "Islamist terrorism" draws on a large body of scholarship by men and women of many faiths but notably inclusing avowed Islamists that describerd a discrete and coherent ideology that originates in a definable period of a few years and unites a large number of terrorist groups operating worldwide. Christian terrorism is a term applied in this article to terrorists who happen to be Christian, or who claim Christian justification as one among a list of motivations, although they are drawn from widely separated eras and the Christianities to which they adhere vary widely. There is no commonality to these ideologies, even excluding the ones who disavow religious motivation altogether. It is this very mix and disparity of type and motivation that appears to have prevented scholars from dealing with "Christian terrorism" as a coherent topic. It is one thing to assert that such an article can be improved, quite another to discover sources of any weight.E.M.Gregory (talk) 23:00, 26 March 2015 (UTC)

Thank you! I was really impressed by the constructive and non-acrimonious tone and contributions from everyone involved in the recent AFD discussion on the Alliance of Women Directors article. What could have been—with the wrong editors involved—a very nasty debate, turned into a very positive discussion. Even editors who strongly felt that the article should be deleted worked hard to find sources and fix problems with it. Non-admin AfD closures

Hi, I've noticed you've done a number of non-admin AfD closures, which is very much appreciated. However, you should only non-admin close something in clear and obvious cases. In both Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Newgen Software and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chattahooligans, there were editors who disagreed in good faith with the final result, so I don't think the standard non admin closure or speedy keep criteria could have been used. (For what it's worth, I've been told off about this as well here). Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 09:58, 13 April 2015 (UTC)

@Ritchie333: Thanks for voicing your concern; however, I would define a clear case as one where there is little question about the consensus (i.e. where I don't have to spend more than (just a rough figure) a minute to roughly determine the consensus). On the first one, it wasn't as clear as an unanimous consensus, but the consensus was towards keep and there was one delete vote that I discounted (not yours) because it was completely unrelated (called the article a biography and also placed similar rationales on different articles, I did not discount your vote, though). On the second one, although there were delete votes, redirecting and merging is preferred over deletion, so I redirected/merged the article instead. Esquivalience t 22:22, 13 April 2015 (UTC)
There was also Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Allie X: originally three separate discussions which were bundled, requiring a more nuanced close than you gave it (as a commenter, I was WP:INVOLVED). IMO this discussion was more controversial than a simple vote count implied, with threads from the other two discussions less visible in the bundling. Northamerica1000's comment about the close was relevant, and this one should also have been left to an admin. All the best, Miniapolis 13:12, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
@Miniapolis: Okay, that one was more controversial, with, despite a reasonable consensus, it has a ANI complaint over one of its participants. Feel free to revert my closure. Esquivalience t 20:19, 15 April 2015 (UTC)
The ANI thread, like many, was basically a content dispute. No, I couldn't revert your closure even if I wanted to; I'd just be a bit more careful if I were you, because NACs can be a minefield. All the best, Miniapolis 01:37, 16 April 2015 (UTC)

Hi. I've had to revert your non-admin closure of this AfD as there was not a unanimous consensus to redirect. An alternative could be to !vote redirect in the AfD instead. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 07:35, 27 April 2015 (UTC)

Also, I'm surprised at your NAC of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Annette Beck-Sickinger - certainly the majority of !votes were keep, but as a BLP in a controversial event, I think this would have been best handled by an admin. I don't believe it's policy for any non-admin to close any AfD per WP:SNOW, unless I've missed something? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:53, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
@Ritchie333: For the first AfD, it would make a plausible redirect as per WP:POFRED § Sub-topics or other topics which are described or listed within a wider article. (Such redirects are often targeted to a particular section of the article.). Even if it were deleted, it could just be redirected to List of asanas by creating it; for the purposes of WP:BURO, I just redirected it. If it was a merge, I would have voted to merge instead, however, since obvious plausible redirects can just be created after deletion, I just redirected it to the right target. The AfD also proves that Redirect deletion criterion 10 would not apply. For the second AfD, WP:NACD (the guideline, as opposed to the essay) probably refers to the discussion (decision) rather than the topic (correct me if I'm wrong.)
Also, WP:NACD says Participants, including participating administrators, should not reopen non-admin closures., however, I appreciate WP:BRDing. Esquivalience t 20:57, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
Your rationale for a redirect is fine, but that should go in a !vote in the AfD if you have a strong enough opinion about a result. I would question whether "redirect" is a good choice without at least one reliable source to prove the term wasn't just made up. Certainly as things stood, there was no obvious consensus for a redirect. So I rolled back the AfD to give you a chance to !vote instead.
In general, my view is that non-admin closures should be avoided outside very obvious and unanimous cases. Indeed, the deletion policy suggests most closures should be handled by an admin. If you're concerned about the backlog of AfDs (and that's good), why not try a RfA? Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 07:42, 28 April 2015 (UTC)
@Ritchie333: Fair objection; I guess I should be a bit more careful when closing sometimes-heated AfD debates. However, I would probably WP:SNOW an RfA. Esquivalience t 20:17, 2 May 2015 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for helping out by closing AfD debates. I'd just thought it might be worthwhile mentioning that it generally befalls the closer to carry out the recommended action in so far as they have access to the tools to do it, otherwise such closures are just creating more work for someone else (like me) and are best left to those who know what to do with mergers and redirects for schools - for example. Okay, this is my last attempt to contact you. I would rather not fail this nice article. But in order for me to pass it as a good article, there are a few changes I want to see. I can hold your hand and walk you through them (per the review) or I can fail it. I'm not sure why you are ignoring me, but if it is because you don't have the time, simply say so. Removal of talk page message

I have removed the talk page post you made at User talk:Danielleamy, telling the editor about a deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Danielle amy Marshall. I know, of course, that removing another editor's comment is normally considered unacceptable, but I thought this was a rare occasion when it was reasonable to make an exception. The message served no useful purpose, since the deletion discussion it referred to was not taking place, and a new editor might well be confused by it. I can't imagine any reason why you should object to my removing it under the circumstances, but if you disagree then please let me know.

I suggest that the best thing to do to the aborted deletion discussion would be to delete it. If you agree, please let me know, and I will delete it under speedy deletion criterion G7 (Request for deletion by the author of the page.) Bots

You are receiving this message because a technical change may affect a bot, gadget, or user script you have been using. The breaking change involves API calls. This change has been planned for two years. The WMF will start making this change on 30 June 2015. A partial list of affected bots can be seen here: https://lists.wikimedia.org/pipermail/wikitech-l/2015-June/081931.html This includes all bots that are using pywikibot compat. Some of these bots have already been fixed. However, if you write user scripts or operate a bot that uses the API, then you should check your code, to make sure that it will not break.

What, exactly, is breaking? The "default continuation mode" for action=query requests to api.php will be changing to be easier for new coders to use correctly. To find out whether your script or bot may be affected, then search the source code (including any frameworks or libraries) for the string "query-continue". If that is not present, then the script or bot is not affected. In a few cases, the code will be present but not used. In that case, the script or bot will continue working.

This change will be part of 1.26wmf12. It will be deployed to test wikis (including mediawiki.org) on 30 June, to non-Wikipedias (such as Wiktionary) on 1 July, and to all Wikipedias on 2 July 2015.

If your bot or script is receiving the warning about this upcoming change (as seen at https://www.mediawiki.org/w/api.php?action=query&list=allpages ), it's time to fix your code!

Either of the above solutions may be tested immediately, you'll know it works because you stop seeing the warning.

Do you need help with your own bot or script? Ask questions in e-mail on the mediawiki-api or wikitech-l mailing lists. Volunteers at m:Tech or w:en:WP:Village pump (technical) or w:en:Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard may also be able to help you.

Are you using someone else's gadgets or user scripts? Most scripts are not affected. To find out if a script you use needs to be updated, then post a note at the discussion page for the gadget or the talk page of the user who originally made the script. User:Esquivalience is your first account?

User:Esquivalience is the first account you have ever had on Wikipedia? Flyer22 (talk) 02:34, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

If you reply to me on this, I'd rather that you reply here instead of at my talk page; I prefer combined discussion and dislike disjointed discussion. Flyer22 (talk) 02:36, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

@Flyer22: I have one other account that I cannot disclose except to the Functionaries team (which I already have dated May 23, 2015, 17:16 UTC), not because of the clean start process (only scrutiny was a {{Uw-test1}}), but because of WP:SOCK#LEGIT § Privacy, and that because of name change; it could have implications if revealed.
I have one question: is this a sockpuppetry allegation? If it is, provide actual evidence. Esquivalience t 02:45, 19 June 2015 (UTC)
Esquivalience, it's not a WP:Sockpuppetry allegation. It's just that, even though your User:Esquivalience account is relatively new and started out using WP:The Wikipedia Adventure, I highly doubted you were new to editing Wikipedia; I still doubt that. And sometimes I will outright ask an editor about any previous accounts they had (usually when I suspect WP:Sockpuppetry or a legitimate WP:Clean start). Thanks for replying. Flyer22 (talk) 03:06, 19 June 2015 (UTC)

One Minor Comment About the RFC

I agree with your closure of the RFC. My only minor comment is that you didn't use the term snow closure. An RFC normally runs for 30 days unless it is a snowball situation or it doesn't stand a snowball's chance in Hell. (Anyway, snow will last a long time in the Ninth Circle of Dante's Inferno.) This was a snow closure, warranting not letting the RFC run its course. It wasn't unanimous, because there was one valid Yes !vote, because that was cast before he engaged in the vandalism that got him banned. Thank you. I would have labeled it as a snow closure, but it was a snow closure. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:53, 22 June 2015 (UTC)

FYI

I restored the original numbers at WP:RFA/N, and tweaked the following text to hopefully emphasize more clearly that typical expectations are higher. While it's certainly empirically true that even your doubled numbers are "low", I don't think it's a good idea to change the guidance pages in ways that perpetuate expectations-ratcheting behavior at a time when getting people to run at all is a bigger problem than deterring the NOTNOW cases. AFD Relisting

Hello Esquivalience, I noticed that you recently relisted Deborah McCallum and PaGaLGuY at AfD. In case you're not aware, the guideline at WP:Relist says that in general such debates should not be relisted more than twice, and if relisting for the third time the template should include a short explanation why the debate is considered insufficient.  B E C K Y S A Y L E 19:05, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

The debates obviously did not have a clear consensus and that was the only issue - not much need to explain, unless the relist needs clarifying on why a close can't be conducted yet if the "head count" is towards X outcome. I can explain my judgement behind either relisting or WP:NPASR closing, but there wouldn't be much benefit to. Esquivalience t 19:15, 9 July 2015 (UTC)

NBOOK RfC

Thanks for closing the RfC on the NBOOK Guideline. I needed to get a second opinion on how the folks in AfD are operating and wanted a wider opinion on if the entire Wikiproject could live by the arbitrary moving of the goal-post that goes on there. I.e., minimum 200 WorldCat entries, a handful of (very select) book reviews instead of two, college newspapers are not RS, and BKCRIT #5 does not mean what it says it means concerning the author's notability. Was hoping for more no votes, but at least I have an RfC discussion to point to now. --Cheers-- 009o9 (talk) 07:51, 23 August 2015 (UTC)

Content creation

Regarding this comment: I can agree that each person will have topics that they do not find interesting to write about, and that there are some topics that by their nature may be very dry, obscure, or otherwise difficult to be enthusiastic about. Nonetheless, I disagree with your characterization of content creation being one of a number of boring areas of Wikipedia, and "Jenga with words". Making contributions to an article requires research, and crafting clear, concise, and engaging text, both of which are enjoyable for some, and not just a game of trying to get everything to balance in some precarious structure. isaacl (talk) 19:12, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

To clarify, I was not trying to convey that content creation is boring. I was trying to convey that content creation is boring to many - some with the skill and passion for writing will find Jenga with words enjoyable and also a lot of room for creativity. But for other types of Wikipedians, Jenga with words is just Jenga with words; they find no room for creativity. Esquivalience t 19:34, 28 August 2015 (UTC)
The comparison with Jenga implies that writing is just a task of shaking up words, stirring them, and getting them to hang just right. It's not a very good metaphor. And to say writing does not provide room for creativity is a bit odd. isaacl (talk) 20:16, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

Thank you for archiving discussions on this busy talk page. I'd like to request that you not archive discussions prematurely though. Sometimes discussions can seem like they are over and then are revived a week later. There is no harm in letting them exist on the talk page for a bit longer until they go dormant. Liz Read!
