Matt Dallas

Hi, you removed a category addition I made on Matt Dallas, saying that I didn't support my change with a citation to a reliable source. On the contrary - there were already two citations (including Matt Dallas' own Twitter feed), on the page. Also, I was merely adding a category (Gay actors) that is essentially a duplicate of a category that is already on the page (LGBT actors). I'm not sure what else I need to do? RobInAspen (talk) 02:57, 9 January 2013 (UTC)

AFAIK, he never said he was gay. He could be bisexual or pansexual or whatever... Edenc1Talk 03:32, 9 January 2013 (UTC)

So him announcing his engagement to another man doesn't count? Hmm... RAP (talk) 20:09 16 January 2013 (UTC)

No. As I said, he could be bisexual, pansexual, queer or anything else. Edenc1Talk 20:13, 16 January 2013 (UTC)
So you are the one who decides this? I didn't know any change made to this site has to go through you first. I'll keep that in mind. RAP (talk) 20:17 16 January 2013 (UTC)
No. WP:BLPCAT is very clear: "Categories regarding religious beliefs or sexual orientation should not be used unless the subject has publicly self-identified with the belief or orientation in question". Edenc1Talk 20:23, 16 January 2013 (UTC)

Oliver Coleman

Hi, I don't have a reliable citation to Oliver's date of birth other than knowing him personaly and being part of his family. The original date was incorrect - he was born on 17th March 1983 (St Patrick's Day) not the 14th and I was trying to correct it. I did make a couple of mistakes as the markup language confused me. I understand about the section I added on Francisco and Jessiann's child. But why do you continue to remove the link to the FranciscoLachowski.com website from the External Links?

WP:FANSITE: "Except for a link to an official page of the article's subject, one should generally avoid providing external links to [...] Blogs, personal web pages and most fansites, except those written by a recognized authority". Edenc1Talk 16:10, 7 April 2013 (UTC)

"Blogs, personal web pages and most fansites, except those written by a recognized authority. I am that recognized authority (Please see the link to the who is database below and please stop removing the link to franciscolachowski.com from the Francisco Lachowski Wikipedia Page ]".

In what way do you suggest it is NOT official? Wikipedia clearly states "except those written by a recognized authority". I am that recognized authority. Please stop removing the link to franciscolachowski.com from the Francisco Lachowski Wikipedia Page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jimmycastellano (talkcontribs) 16:29, 7 April 2013 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:20th Television.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:20th Television.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:02, 8 April 2013 (UTC)

Much better, thanks.--Bbb23 (talk) 22:16, 10 April 2013 (UTC)

Category:American Jews = The person is Jewish.
Category:American people of X-Jewish descent = One of the person's parents or grandparents is/was Jewish. Edenc1Talk 12:37, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

Category:American Jews is child category of <----- Category:American Jews by national origin <----- Category:American Jews of European descent <----- Category:American people of Belarusian-Jewish descent See Wikipedia:Categorization. Backendgaming (talk) 22:12, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

Again, people in Category:American people of X-Jewish descent are of Jewish descent, not Jewish. Edenc1Talk 22:34, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

Category:American people of Belarusian-Jewish descent to Category:American Jews of European descent. Not all "American people of Belarusian-Jewish descent" are "American Jews of European descent". Edenc1Talk 22:39, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

Doesn't matter, Category:American Jews is still a child category of <----- Category:American Jews by national origin <----- Category:American Jews of European descent <----- Category:American people of Belarusian-Jewish descent. Follow Wikipedia's compliance of categorization. If you are still not satisfied or if you still don't agree with my reverts, go on the talk pages of User_talk:Fat&Happy or User:Yngvadottir regarding this issue and see how they respond. They are usually more experienced with categories and understand Wikipedia s policy of categorization. Backendgaming (talk) 22:43, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

A sane question

Hey! Instead of reverting my edit and taking the trouble of going to my talk page to "advice" me, why don't you look for the source yourself and actually HELP Wikipedia?

That would be a lot more useful and would help not only this site, but your position here. Think about it. Decembor (talk) 16:38, 28 July 2013 (UTC)

Hadag Nahash Edit

Looking for the rational for the removal of the link http://musicoftheworld.co/tag/hadag-nahash/ from the Hadag Nahash page. I have read WP:EL and still do not understand why you removed the link. I have no connection to the original addition, hadag nahash or the EL site. I am just curious as to why, in your opinion, this link is in violation of the WP:EL policy? Thank you. Moshekaye (talk) 13:02, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

The website only contains some videos from YouTube. It doesn't provide any information to the reader and it isn't an official website. Edenc1Talk 13:55, 20 August 2013 (UTC)
Thank you for the clarification. Moshekaye (talk) 14:02, 20 August 2013 (UTC)

Hello! I don't understand your revert of the category "American people of Italian Jewish descent". You said "His father is Jewish and his Italian American mother is Catholic". Doesn't that make him of Italian-Jewish descent - Italian on one side and Jewish on the other? --MelanieN (talk) 17:58, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi!
Yes, he is Jewish on his father's side and Italian on his mother's, but Category:American people of Italian-Jewish descent is for people who are of Italian Jewish descent ( = one of the parents/grandparents is Italian AND Jewish). Edenc1Talk 18:15, 28 August 2013 (UTC)
OIC - an ancestor who is both Jewish and from Italy. As opposed to the common American usage "I am Japanese-Irish" meaning some ancestors are from Japan and others from Ireland. OK, thanks for the explanation. --MelanieN (talk) 19:03, 28 August 2013 (UTC)

Hi I'm RABL224, sorry I didn't support my claim but that is his real birthday. He has stated it on his official twitter page. I'm sorry didn't know about the citation rule. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RABL224 (talkcontribs) 12:49, 10 October 2013 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Original Barnstar
They had confirmed it in a video I saw and on Twitter before. I'm not sure if they tweets are still up, but you should look at their pages, Troye's is @TroyeSivan and Nicholas' is @NicholasKThinks WikiUser1279 (talk) 21:41, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Jamie Elman, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page NCIS (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The Sims 4

Hay, I changed the wrong content on The Sims 4 just by looking on the statistics of the Alison Truth video. That video changed the containence by itself and I'm so sorry if I looked down on countristic zones of the half add-ons. Thank you so much. See you Monday. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nikolapivac (talkcontribs) 17:02, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

Moroccan Jews

Hello, I am sorry I am not really sure how to write to someone on Wikipedia. Moshe Peretz, Zehava Ben and cie are Moroccan jews, wether their parents immigrated to Israel doesn't wash them from Moroccan culture nor being a part of Moroccan people. Moroccan Jews are a distinctive ethno-cultural group who are a part of the Moroccan people as a whole. So please stop eraising my modification. They are Israeli of Moroccan descent.

Moroccan people

Hello Edenc1!

I've noticed you've been removing some categories such as Category:Moroccan people and Category:Moroccan Jews from various articles - [1], [2], [3], [4]. I would like to take the opportunity to inform you that the category is NOT about citizenship or nationality, it's purely about Moroccan descent - people that share a common Moroccan culture, ancestry and speak the Moroccan variant of the Arabic language or a Berber language as a mother tongue.

Take care! CyberXReftalk 06:51, 23 November 2013 (UTC)

Jewish american actors

I wrote a message in the talk page of the category "Jewish American actors" all my favorites used be listed in the category. As I wrote, the title just seems to have a better ring, the addition of male just makes one sylable too many. I did not intend disruption of any kind. I hope that is understood.--ShortTermer (talk) 05:25, 2 December 2013 (UTC)

And this time I'm serious! --ShortTermer (talk) 06:04, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

Now listen you! I altered these categories because the other title plays out better and I've added it to all my favorite actors in the race. They belong in the proper category and that should count as rightful editing and no one's standing in my way! --ShortTermer (talk) 06:53, 27 December 2013 (UTC)

@ShortTermer:, "no one's standing in my way" is not how things work around here.
Consensus decision-making is a fundamental principle of Wikipedia, and there is already an explicit consensus to keep Category:Jewish American male actors (see WP:CFD 2013 September 11).
If you disagree with that decision, you are welcome to open a new WP:CFD discussion to upmerge that category. However, unless there is a new consensus to upmerge it, your efforts to depopulate it amount to disruptive and tendentious editing. Please stop. --BrownHairedGirl (talk) • (contribs) 16:27, 5 January 2014 (UTC)
