ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

Hello, Ebyabe. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Apology

Hi Ebyabe, just wanted to say sorry for contributing to the ridiculous edit storm on your talk page. WP:AIV has been pretty backlogged lately so that's why it took so long for the IP to be blocked. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving. Sro23 (talk) 03:28, 25 November 2016 (UTC)

Hi Im Pyrusca. Im sorry for a few of the edits. Hope you enjoy your break. Pyrusca (talk) 03:31, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
@Sro23: @Pyrusca: That's OK. I work evenings, so I missed it all. Ironically, s/he was talking to nobody. I'll go through the page history for my amusement. I'm not off on Thanksgiving, but it's just me, so I can celebrate late. I still cook as though I've got a bunch of people coming over, 'cause I like an excuse to. Plus more leftovers for me! I was going to scale down this year, but I got carried away again. Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, cranberry/blueberry sauce, gravy, green bean casserole, braised leeks with tomatoes, broccoli/cauliflower casserole and roasted eggplant/zucchini/bell peppers. Oh, and key lime pie. Yeah, me, never get carried away. ;) --Ebyabe talk - Opposites Attract05:48, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
Btw, for anyone watching, you might want to check other wikis and wikias. This user is notorious for taking out there frustrations on other sites where you may have accounts. They did a tirade on my pages at the Tardis Wikia and WikiVoyage a while back, for example. I've checked and nothing so far. It never ceases to amaze me, though, how they know the kind of treatment they're going to receive here and they keep coming back for more. I think Albert Einstein had something to say about that. Cheers. --Ebyabe talk - Health and Welfare19:16, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
It's off-wiki too. Google your Wikipedia username or mine and you'll find this person's rants on random blogs and forums. So immature. Sro23 (talk) 20:21, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
Hi E. Yum Yum. Sounds like a delicious meal :-P I was left out of the last set of rants from you know who. Makes me a little nostalgic. Cheers and enjoy your weekend! MarnetteD|Talk 19:31, 25 November 2016 (UTC)
I've opened up an SPI here for a possible range block, given his history. If there are more sockpuppets of BSK64 like this one, we should take it to SPI. Other than that, please enjoy your weekend as well, Ebyabe, and all the best for December. Let's hope there are no more disruptions from that user. Lord Sjones23 (talk - contributions) 11:17, 26 November 2016 (UTC)

Because you thanked me

Ebyabe, you thanked me for one of my recent edits, so here is a heart-felt...
 YOU'RE WELCOME!
It's a pleasure, and I hope you have a lot of fun while you edit this inspiring encyclopedia phenomenon! Sro23 (talk)

My talk-page trolliewollie...

Thanks for the heads-up, but as long as he's trying to troll me (useless, I was a USENET meta-troll, once) he's got no time to actually disrupt things elsewhere. So I'm trying to keep him on my talk-page and his mind occupied. Nevertheless, he told me he is worried I might write his ISP, so I think I'll compose a complaint. Kleuske (talk) 19:44, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

Thanks! S\he seems to show up on holiday weekends. Hopefully this will die down come Monday. They've been doing this for ages, and don't seem to realize that all their edits will be reverted, even if they are accurate. Unfortunately, everything they do is completely tainted by being a sockpuppet, so none of their edits will ever, ever, ever stay. The sooner they realize that and leave, the better. But I think they like playing the victim. Thing is, no one here buys it. Anyway, happy holidays! --Ebyabe talk - Attract and Repel19:48, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
Thanks and likewise, The dirty little secret is, I'm actually quite enjoying this... Kleuske (talk) 19:55, 27 November 2016 (UTC)
To be honest, me too. It's so easy to get them to react, I should be ashamed of myself. And yet somehow, not. ;) --Ebyabe talk - Inspector General20:02, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

using popups

Hi Ebyabe, You removed an edit I added to the "Pasco County, Florida" page, and left the comment; (Revert to the revision prior to revision 751598932 dated 2016-11-26 18:31:29 by Paulfranklinherman using popups, remove per WP:ELNO) (undo | thank)

I understand the "WP:ELNO" ... it indicates that you thought my link was unnecessary or inappropriate and should be removed. But, being a newbie, I don't know what you meant by "using popups". I clicked on the link for "popups" ... and I'm not sure I understand. My link did not use any type of Wikipedia popup feature, and the website I linked to does not use popups. Please help me understand so I won't make this mistake again. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Paulfranklinherman (talkcontribs) 23:39, 27 November 2016 (UTC)

Popups is a tool that Wikipedia users use, not something you did. Just ignore that. --Ebyabe talk - Repel All Boarders10:48, 28 November 2016 (UTC)

Picture request from de.wp

Dear Ebyabe, on de:Wikipedia:Bilderwünsche#Mickeymast an IP asked for two detail pictures of the Mickey Pylon, to which you seem to be quite close, according to [1]. Would you like to help that one out? The requested pictures are the ID sign mounted on the pylon and a picture at night with the pylon illuminated. It would be very kind if you, if you would be able to fulfill this request. Thanks in advance and best regards from the Black Forest, --Flominator (talk) 08:44, 28 November 2016 (UTC)

My camera doesn't take good night photos, but I might be able to get the pylon. Whenever I'm down in that area again I'll try to get some shots. --Ebyabe talk - General Health10:46, 28 November 2016 (UTC)
Thanks a lot! Maybe using a tripod or just something, to leave the camera standing in piece with autotimer activated might help ... --Flominator (talk) 09:11, 3 December 2016 (UTC)

Photos of historical markers up for deletion on Commons

Several photos of historical markers on Commons are up for deletion, including at least one of yours. The reason is that they are a copyright violation. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 23:30, 9 December 2016 (UTC)

It's a losing battle. I've also had marker photos deleted previously. And photos of statues I've taken. Fortunately I take enough photos of other stuff that I don't get completely discouraged. --Ebyabe talk - Welfare State06:15, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
I've had problems with statues, but I thought that the only thing that you see outside that is copyrighted are three-dimensional artwork, e.g. statues. Not text on historical markers. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 06:29, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
Apparently they are. I hardly ever upload historical markers anymore b/c of that. :( --Ebyabe talk - Attract and Repel18:31, 10 December 2016 (UTC)
I think if you tracked down the author and asked about the copyright, they would think it is ridiculous. Bubba73 You talkin' to me? 02:18, 11 December 2016 (UTC)

Need you again over at the article. I'm not going to revert again, after just reverting, but I'm pretty sure you'll agree that another reversion is warranted. FWIW, I've left a note at that editor's Talk page about the relevant Wikipedia guidelines on this... --IJBall (contribstalk) 21:32, 11 December 2016 (UTC)

Got it. Taking over this shift.  :) --Ebyabe talk - Health and Welfare05:52, 12 December 2016 (UTC)

This is getting ridiculous. If you decide to ask for protection at WP:RfPP, let me know as I'll be endorsing the protection request. --IJBall (contribstalk) 00:09, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

@IJBall: Did it. --Ebyabe talk - Opposites Attract06:07, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

Cqhollywood

I think you've given User:Cqhollywood enough WP:ROPE – if they do one more "Director" column addition at any article, I think you should move to get them blocked, and I'll support the request. It's been long enough that this editor has been given to change their editing behavior, but they seem completely unwilling to change... --IJBall (contribstalk) 15:49, 15 December 2016 (UTC)

Merry Merry

Season's Greetings, Ebyabe!
At this wonderful time of year, I would like to give season’s greetings to all the fellow Wikipedians I have interacted with in the past! May you have a wonderful holiday season! MarnetteD|Talk 16:50, 20 December 2016 (UTC)

To anyone watching my talk page

I've been working on new content, which I've not done in a while. It's about the Hillywood Show, of which I'm admittedly a big fan. They have gotten a goodly amount of coverage in reliable sources, and I think a decent article can be created about them now. Should the mood take you, please see what I've done so far at User:Ebyabe/gloppy9. Suggestions appreciated, especially anything needed so that it can be moved to mainspace. Much thanks, and happy holidays of whatever type are apropos! --Ebyabe talk - Health and Welfare18:40, 20 December 2016 (UTC)

Looks good, very in-depth. I remember the Hillywood Show, they definitely meet notability guidelines. Categorization is a little iffy, so far only one category. Can you think of any other categories to add? Sro23 (talk) 00:43, 23 December 2016 (UTC)

I noticed a few weeks back that the Samuel L. Jackson filmography article/table is pretty much a mess. Not only does it use 'colspan' column headers (thus making the table unsortable), but it also contains the dreaded 'Director' column that needs to be removed. I bring this up, because one of us should probably tackle "fixing" this article – it's on my "To Do" list, but if you end wanting to tackle it before I get to it, feel free! --IJBall (contribstalk) 16:37, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

Good gracious you're right. I'll take a crack. I feel like I've become an expert in fixing this sort of junk. --Ebyabe talk - Opposites Attract18:47, 24 January 2017 (UTC)
OK, done.  ;) --Ebyabe talk - Opposites Attract19:19, 24 January 2017 (UTC)

Adam Sandler filmography is another one that's a mess, if you're interested... --IJBall (contribstalk) 03:32, 2 February 2017 (UTC)

Well that was fun. Fixed. :) --Ebyabe talk - Union of Opposites08:00, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
Jim Carrey filmography was also a mess, but I fixed that one all by myself. --IJBall (contribstalk) 17:47, 3 February 2017 (UTC)
Good on you! Wasn't that hard, was it? *lol* --Ebyabe talk - Inspector General05:39, 4 February 2017 (UTC)

Photo requests: Franklin County, FL schools

Do you take photo requests? If so, why not the schools in Franklin County, Florida?

  • Franklin County School: 1250 Highway 98, Eastpoint, Florida (main entrance sign and/or school building)
  • Apalachicola Bay Charter School: 98 12th St, Apalachicola, FL 32320

Also: Apalachicola Post Office: 20 Ave D #101, Apalachicola, FL 32320

If you take requests in the Tampa area I can list those too.

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix

Just so you know the Secret Episode of the Final Mix version created new cutscenes for Aqua which are the only new cutscenes in the game. To help prove it you here is a youtube link for a video which is in Japanese as the cutscenes from the original game were in English (similar to Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix's original release having the same situation) this link is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pUzW4RR4Ey0 look at 1:20 of the video to see the original Japanese version which I made sure was one produced before 2.5 came out in 2014 to help verify this (as the ones based around 2.5 would only get in the way).

Here is the English language variant which Willa Holland recorded in English in 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVNVAqeXuog at 13:40 of the video. This is to help prove that Willa Holland did provide new dialogue for Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 Remix for Birth by Sleep Final Mix since it was not part of the original Birth by Sleep released in 2010 and even if you search for a video for the ending of the original game that scene will not be there. Just remember this message is to help you understand the truth of this matter (I was surprised when I found out, but made sure to confirm it). 67.171.250.202 (talk) 06:15, 8 February 2017 (UTC)

Need some help

Hi, Ebyabe. I'm having some issues with an editor named Speedy135 – e.g. see their recent edits at Nina Dobrev and Chris Wood (actor) (and even at Steven R. McQueen, which doesn't even involve me), for example. I've previously tried to communicate with this editor at their Talk page, but this seems to be a combination of language and WP:Battleground issues, and it probably won't do any good if I follow up, so I'm hoping you'll give it a shot. But this editor seems unwilling to acknowledge when they make mistakes, and will revert any attempt to fix their edits. Thanks. --IJBall (contribstalk) 02:30, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

I'll keep an eye, but it looks like others are reverting their edits too. --Ebyabe talk - Inspector General06:13, 12 February 2017 (UTC)

Elks Building and Theatre

Hi, thanks for helping at Elks Building and Theater article for the Elks building in Prescott Arizona. Actually the new editor User:Elkspacmanager is trying to comply with requirements, has responded to my request that they create an account and edit logged in, and they have tried to add sources, though the sources are at first inserted at the top of the article. I'd like to help them get this into order, perhaps by making mild additions to what they've done, if/when this settles down a bit. I'd be glad if you can help in editing, too, of course. Do let's try to support them getting started in Wikipedia. --doncram 21:12, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

That's fine, but they should get a different username. It's definitely indicates a conflict of interest. --Ebyabe talk - Inspector General21:21, 13 February 2017 (UTC)
Thanks. I have tried to raise that issue with them at their Talk page, but didn't get into specifics of how they are to request a username change. Yes, they obviously have an association with the organization and COI has to be managed, if there are content issues that persist. I do welcome your talking to them directly at their Talk page and/or the article Talk page. They have indicated at their Talk page that they welcome feedback on what they are to do. Bye for now, thanks. --doncram 21:47, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

Then feel free to provide them and they can be checked to see if they meet Wikipedia guidlines. Alternatively, you can work on the article as a draft and submit it when you feel ready. Work on it at Draft:Ken Sibanda. Also, please sign your posts. --Ebyabe talk - Union of Opposites22:29, 13 February 2017 (UTC)
Btw, erasing my comment on your userpage does not make it disappear forever. It can still be seen in the edit history of the page. --Ebyabe talk - Inspector General22:31, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

I reverted it. I have no qualms about reverting vandalism, especially when personal attacks are included, as were done in that edit. Cheers!  :) --Ebyabe talk - Union of Opposites05:44, 21 January 2017 (UTC)

Hi Interested to understand why these edits or (some) associated edits are deemed inappropriate or personal attacks. They appear neither. Children's names are included in many profiles so not sure why different here? Genuine question. Wikipedia rules are complex and lack consistency. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 185.69.144.186 (talk) 08:48, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

The children are not notable, so information about them is not included. Please notice that the children's names are not on the Jamie Dornan page either. --Ebyabe talk - State of the Union08:51, 16 February 2017 (UTC)
See WP:BLPNAMES, WP:NPF and WP:CHILD for further details. --Ebyabe talk - Inspector General08:54, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

Noted though this does not explain inconsistencies with other pages or even Jamie Dornan international pages. Why are Dornan children non notable but others are. Names are a matter of public record and have been included in several press releases as have several quotes (non child related) referenced. I still do not understand why the edits are removed in this case and not others. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.255.237.171 (talk) 10:35, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

See WP:Other stuff exists – the fact that things are done wrong at some articles has no bearing on whether they should be done correctly on the articles one edits. The bottom line – there is zero reason for a widely-available public encyclopedia like this to widely disseminate the names and birthdates of non-notable children, as per policies like WP:BLPNAMES and WP:BLPPRIVACY, etc. Just because other editors at other articles are ignoring these policies doesn't mean that we should. --IJBall (contribstalk) 17:09, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

Wow. You editors really are sanctimonious and full of self importantance. I will investigate whether there is a mechanism for reporting rudeness. Regardless of the rights and wrongs you have no reason to be patronising. Wikipedia is a public information forum so auditing items in the public domain is both pointless and smacks of censorship. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.255.237.171 (talk) 18:01, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

Please feel free to report your concerns at WP:ANI. Also please review policies about what constitutes personal attacks. --Ebyabe talk - Health and Welfare18:37, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

Got another one for you...

Hi Ebyabe. I suspect I'm going to be needing your help with new user Divide223 – e.g. take a look at Nina Dobrev. What's worrisome about that one especially is that the daterange change is exactly the same as what now-banned user Speedy135 was trying to do at Nina Dobrev last month, so I am concerned that this new one may be a sock account of Speedy135. In any case, I'd appreciate it if you could keep an eye on this one too... Thanks! --IJBall (contribstalk) 01:56, 12 March 2017 (UTC)

Unnecessary editing

Don't do things unnecessarily. You have messed the whole page. Singh name was mentioned in the source which i had added. Wiki222222 (talk) 09:26, 12 March 2017 (UTC)

Actually, no he wasn't. And even if he was, there was nothing in the source to indicate why that is notable. Please discuss the changes you wish to make on the article talk page. Continuing your current course of action may result in you and User:Danishmajiddar being blocked. Thank you and have a pleasant day. --Ebyabe talk - Health and Welfare18:14, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
Also, there are no articles on English Wikipedia for Nuzhat Jabeen and Ram Kishan Singh. If you wish to assert their notability, it would help if articles existed here to aid in that. Thank you and have a delightful evening. --Ebyabe talk - Health and Welfare18:18, 12 March 2017 (UTC)
