November 2016
Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
I noticed your recent edit to Farewell to the King does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Hello, Dutchy85. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Share your experience and feedback as a Wikimedian in this global survey
Hello! The Wikimedia Foundation is asking for your feedback in a survey. We want to know how well we are supporting your work on and off wiki, and how we can change or improve things in the future.[1] The opinions you share will directly affect the current and future work of the Wikimedia Foundation. You have been randomly selected to take this survey as we would like to hear from your Wikimedia community. To say thank you for your time, we are giving away 20 Wikimedia T-shirts to randomly selected people who take the survey.[2] The survey is available in various languages and will take between 20 and 40 minutes.
You can find more information about this project. This survey is hosted by a third-party service and governed by this privacy statement. Please visit our frequently asked questions page to find more information about this survey. Proposed deletion of Bush Patrol
The article Bush Patrol has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Unremarkable television program, lacking content and secondary sources.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. -- Whats new?(talk) 05:52, 1 February 2017 (UTC)

Capital letters in headings
Hi Dutchy. Noticed you use Capital Letters in all your headings. It's not really the wikipedia style to do this when the words aren't proper nouns - look at pretty much any other article to illustrate.Boneymau (talk) 20:32, 15 February 2017 (UTC) Hello - thanks for this - wasn't aware I wasn't doing as per Wikipedia style, apologise thought I was following the proper templateDutchy85 (talk) 22:29, 15 February 2017 (UTC)
Bush Patrol copyright violation
This is your final warning. Further copyright violations will result in you being blocked from editing. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 18:13, 3 February 2017 (UTC) Sorry what copyright violation? I tweaked the description so it was new. How often do I get accused of copyright violation, anyway? Am confused. Dutchy85 (talk) 01:06, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
- I didn't see the changes you made in this case, but generally speaking, you cannot copy series, season or episode plots/synopsis - in part or in whole - from official sources, such as TV guides, EPGs, reviewers or media releases unless verified to be public domain (which is almost never). Any series description must be written in your own words. See WP:TVMOS for the proper way to write television related articles. -- Whats new?(talk) 01:43, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
It was slack I shouldn't have done it which is why I fixed it - so am surprised I got a "final warning" that's all. Dutchy85 (talk) 01:52, 4 February 2017 (UTC)
- The reason you received a final warning is because you have been repeatedly warned not to copy material from other websites. Today I found another one: You copied the plot description for Essington (film) from this web page or somewhere else online. Plot descriptions cannot be copied from other sources, including official sources. They must be written in your own words to comply with Wikipedia's copyright policy. Please don't do this any more, or I will block you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 16:28, 10 February 2017 (UTC) Ok thanks Dianaa I don't mean to cause trouble sometimes it's an honest mistake - I will try to be more vigilant.Dutchy85 (talk) 23:38, 10 February 2017 (UTC)
Dutchy85, copying huge sections of copyrighted text is problematic even if you say "So and so said:" and put the whole thing in quotation marks. You've been told numerous times to write things in your own words, and you still aren't doing it. Pinging Diannaa to see if this needs to be actioned further. I've already had to block this editor last year because they were not willing to read and learn our policies and guidelines. They were unblocked on the promise to improve, but I think this is proof that problems are persisting. --Laser brain (talk) 23:14, 15 February 2017 (UTC)
- I agree with you, Laser brain. While it's usual to add short quotations from reviews to movie articles, a 171-word quotation added to a 74-word article is excessive, and a violation of our non-free content rules. For an article this size a quote of 10 to 15 words would be a lot more appropriate. Dutchy85, you need to stop editing until you have reviewed these pages:
Absolutely I am trying to improve and honestly thought I had - which article were you referring to? There is no quote in Bush Patrol. There are some long quotes of reviews for the Australian TV dramas I have been posting are those the ones? You want them shorter?Dutchy85 (talk) 23:39, 15 February 2017 (UTC) Okay sorry just saw it was Man for All Seasons - apologies - I just got so excited at the existence of a TV adaptation of the play... an Australian adaptation no less, years before the Oscar winning film... that I wanted to put in some objective reports about it but I am happy to give shorter quotes.Dutchy85 (talk) 23:42, 15 February 2017 (UTC) Okay I will go through my most recent entries to reduce. I admit to long quotes where you can't link to an internet copy of the original quote. It came from a good place.Dutchy85 (talk) 23:52, 15 February 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for doing that. And remember - no more copying of plot descriptions from other websites! If you haven't seen the film and are not in a position to write a plot description yourself, just leave it out. Someone will get around to it sooner or later. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 15:11, 16 February 2017 (UTC)

Australian TV dramas
Hello! Thank you for your recent creation of articles for several Australian TV films. However, when naming new TV film articles, please follow the naming conventions at WP:NCTV. Most articles will not need any disambiguation, unless there is another Wikipedia article with the same name. If so, please be WP:PRECISE, and start with "(film)", only adding disambiguation if there is more than one film with that title. The next step is usually to add the year (e.g. "(2013 film)"). Also, if the article is a stub, please consider adding the {{Australia-tv-film-stub}} tag to the article, in order for it to be properly classified. Thanks! Speedy deletion nomination of Hybrid (1997 film)
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on Hybrid (1997 film) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. -KAP03(Talk • Contributions • Email) 03:36, 28 May 2017 (UTC)
The article Vice Girls has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No indication of notability of unimportant film. No references. Two ELs, but one is IMDB, which indiscriminately tries to list every film ever made; and one to the web page about the deceased B-movie actress.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. TJRC (talk) 00:05, 31 May 2017 (UTC)

Avoid cut-and-paste moves
Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Peur sur la ville a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Fear Over the City. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.
In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on The King of the Two Day Wonder requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://issuu.com/libuow/docs/cinemapaper1979julno022. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
—Anne Delong (talk) 04:15, 6 July 2017 (UTC) I was not responsible for the copyright infringement. That was another user. I feel the better approach would have been to remove this material rather than delete the whole entry, surely?
Film stubs
Hello! While I appreciate your work in creating film articles, the template {{film-stub}} should only be used as a last resort. Please consider using a more appropriate genre stub tag on those articles, so that they can be properly classified. Also just a reminder, the Film project does not cover biography articles, therefore {{film-stub}} should not be added to articles about actors, directors and filmmakers. Thanks! A brownie for you!
Hi, just a little note you can add book covers easily using WP:FILEUPLOADWIZARD. Thanks for War Cry (novel) In ictu oculi (talk) 20:09, 9 August 2017 (UTC) |
The article Billy Rayes has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Fails WP:NACTOR. No significant movie roles, no significant media coverage, only passing references to subject sharing the bill with orchestras as a novelty act.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Rogermx (talk) 15:36, 15 August 2017 (UTC)
Norman Krasna
You left a garbled sentence in the second paragraph of Norman Krasna#Hollywood. Also, can you check reference 24? The last name doesn't look right. Clarityfiend (talk) 10:15, 26 September 2017 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for October 2
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Wendell Corey, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Sabu and The Voice of the Turtle (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Lou (2010 film) moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Lou (2010 film), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Furthermore, the sumbission reads like a review - Wikipedia is not a film review site, and articles on films should instead present information about the film, not a plot synopsis and the author's opinions. I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the confirms on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. Film lists
Hi, can you add films you create to List of American films and List of British films under the relevant year? I've been trying to build comprehensive lists by year for a long time!♦ Dr. Blofeld 18:45, 8 November 2017 (UTC) Hey Blofeld - thanks for asking - is this something I'm required to do or just a general request? American film stubs
Hello! Just a reminder, when adding stub articles to {{WikiProject Film}} with the appropriate stub tags, for American films the country tags should only be used as a last resort. There are over 25,000 Stub-class film articles that fall under the American cinema task force, so please use a more appropriate genre stub tag on those articles, instead of the stub tags in Category:American film stubs. Thanks! Fortdj33 (talk) 17:35, 25 November 2017 (UTC)
