Thanks for adding the ref to that article - one of the most interesting things I've read in a long while! If you wish to join the Film Project, you're more than welcome. Lugnuts (talk) 17:59, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Ausstage requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. DoDo Bird Brain (talk) 05:50, 28 August 2011 (UTC)

Cinesound Varieties

Greetings Dutchy85, I'm posting this message on your talk page because I noticed that you've recently created the new article Cinesound Varieties-- I'm kind of new here myself but let me know if there is any way I can help. Tweak your citations - here's how!

{{Cite book
 | last =
 | first =
 | authorlink =
 | coauthors =
 | year =
 | title = <!-- required -->
 | publisher =
 | location =
 | id =
 | pages =
}}

Just copy into a text document, fill in the necessary fields (search on Amazon or similar for all the information about a particular book), then (having filled in as much as you can), paste back between the <ref></ref> tags. (Adding): You'll find a whole load more of these extremely useful citation templates just by clicking on that link there; you can generally find something there to suit almost any purpose. Pesky (talkstalk!) 08:16, 4 October 2011 (UTC)

The article Faith McKinnon has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Deadly∀ssassin 12:58, 8 October 2011 (UTC)

Use of a reference

Since you are adding the Aubrey Solomon book to a number of articles, use the following reference note in the bibliography:

  • Solomon, Aubrey. Twentieth Century Fox: A Corporate and Financial History (The Scarecrow Filmmakers Series). Lanham, Maryland: Scarecrow Press, 1989. ISBN 978-0810842441.
and the following Harvard citation as the citation note:

Dutchy, you are still causing a great deal of "cleanup". What part of the above did you not understand? I can elaborate or explain anything that is not clear. FWiW Bzuk (talk) 12:37, 18 October 2011 (UTC).

Dutchy, not to be obtuse, but you are actually adding a very useful resource to many articles, and I have already noted that you are using the "standard" form of identifying the author (last name, first name), title (and series), publisher's information, and location (here the date can be tweaked, use the following: p. 254.). Keep at it! FWiW Bzuk (talk) 13:00, 18 October 2011 (UTC).

OK

Quick scan of the above, ... fresh as I am ... from a tweak of Clara Gibbings after you did a nice, major upgrade ... in the wake of my first effort ... on the article, ... shows a certain ... let's say tang ... to your ... Wiki ... participation.

I came here to encourage you to set up at least a minimal user page (click red "User page" tab above; hopefully Dutchy85 is available; you're on your way, as much or as little as you want to post). If there's anything else I can do to assist in your ongoing efforts to contribute constructively .... Got it? Yeh. Whatever. Thanks for your help. Cheers. All best. For the Term of His Natural Life

I'm not sure what to say: this image might be in the public domain, but it might not be. Here in the USA, tomorrow is a major national holiday, and I don't have time to research the issue sufficiently, so I posted a request for help at WP:MCQ. If you go there, find the section entitled "Details of PD-Australia", and you'll see what others have to say about your situation. Nyttend (talk) 12:28, 23 November 2011 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image File:SQUATTERSDAUGHTER.jpg

⚠

Thanks for uploading File:SQUATTERSDAUGHTER.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 23:59, 27 November 2011 (UTC)

Hi. In your recent article edits, you've added some links to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

A tag has been placed on Australasian Films requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject of the article is important or significant: that is, why an article about it should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you can assert the importance of the subject, . Clicking that button will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the article's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. You may freely add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

See the guidelines for specific types of articles: biographies, websites, bands, or companies. JZCL (talk) 11:07, 2 January 2012 (UTC)

The article Shannon's Mob has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable TV series, lacks reliable sources to establish notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Your submission at Articles for creation

I noticed your submission in Articles for creation, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/List of Australian history films. Thanks! It will be reviewed by a volunteer soon.

Before it can be added to Wikipedia, your submission should have references. All articles on Wikipedia should have inline, numbered references after facts, showing the 'reliable source' (a newspaper, book, etc.) where the information can be checked, so that all information is verifiable.

Here's a video tutorial - hit play, then right-click for "full screen".

Here's an example of how to add references:

Chzz is 98 years old.<ref> "The book of Chzz", Aardvark Books, 2009. </ref>

He likes tea.<ref> Smith, John. "[http://foonews.com/Article42 Interview with Chzz]", Foo News, 1 April 2010. Retrieved 2011-05-22. </ref>

== References ==

{{reflist}}

That makes the references automatically display as small numbers[1] which will link to the details in the section titled == References == at the end. You can see that example in action here.

Please add references to your submission, which will be reviewed as soon as possible. See also, Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners. If you need any help, just put {{helpme}} at the end of this page, followed by a question or get into our live help chat chanel at #wikipedia-en-help connect.

The article Inman Hunter has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Notability

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Inman Hunter

"He was one of the leading editors in australia and england in the 50s and 50". Well maybe so; what is needed is a secondary reliable source that says so. Regards, Ariconte (talk) 11:27, 18 April 2012 (UTC)

The article Charles Woods (comedian) has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

-- Alan Liefting (talk - contribs) 01:51, 1 May 2012 (UTC)
