Many thanks for your comments here. For the existence of the gifted program, I would have to have access to either the Star Phoenix from the 1960s or minutes of the School Board from that period. At present, I have neither, so I am at a bit of an impasse. In terms of establishing graduates from a particular program, I note that the identification of graduates at various institutions seems to be acceptable within Wikipedia without specific referencing, as much because graduation records, even at a university level, are not easily accessible to a public forum. I know about this program because I was in it, though none of the notable graduates identified is me. (I'm notable in a smaller field, I guess, though not nearly as nationally or provincially notable as those mentioned.)

Since you do a lot of research on Saskatchewan, any assistance you can provide or suggest here would be appreciated. The program was incredibly forward-looking, in my view (far and away from every parent's "gifted Jane or Johnny" of today), and has resulted in some most distinguished graduates. It was very much a part of what Brunskill was at the time--and still may be; I don't know when or if this program was discontinued.

The M & M cities / towns

That is a good idea to keep the nameing as towns until the official time of them becoming cities. I noticed that here and there it went back and forth, and I didn't correct it to any convention, but I should have. Thanks for the heads up. ~I thought I would expand them a bit for the time they become cities, as I have been trying to expand all the SK city articles to try to represent city articles somewhat.SriMesh | talk 00:42, 9 September 2009 (UTC)

  • Welcome
  • We’re excited to announce that User:Presidentman has joined WikiProject Saskatchewan as our Editor in Chief. Presidentman will oversee editorial content and the Saskatchewan Wikiproject community contributions on the Wikiproject newsletter. Presidentman has also successfully developed the Picture of the Day project and has been active on wikipedia for close to three years in a plethora of projects enriching wikipedia with close to 3,000 contributions. The transition between our old editor and the new has been smoother than any of us could have hoped for — SriMesh wrote their last newsletter article for January, 2010, and Presidentman started up without missing a beat for February 2010. The previous years for SriMesh, the past editor, had been richly rewarding, seeing subscriptions grow, informing interested editors of developments and changes to the Saskatchewan wikipedia community and supporting activities on the Saskatchewan Wikiproject. It is now time for me to move to new writing projects to finish, and further responsibilities which are vying for my attention. Please join me in welcoming Presidentman to the their new position! Presidentman is working on a host of new features and an updated look, which will take things to a new level. It is wonderful to have a new editor to bring in the new year! Expect great things.
Welcome Presidentman, and best wishes!
Your wonderful act of kindness to take on editorial capacity of the Saskatchewan Wikiproject news letter is much appreciated! Thank you so much!!!

Kind Regards, SriMesh | talk 18:36, 24 January 2010 (UTC)

I've made some changes to the article which may satisfy your peacock-terms objection; please see the talkpage about "brilliant", which has a meaning/relevance though maybe I'd have to find a particular cite for the explanation/wording if that's necessary....Skookum1 (talk) 14:30, 19 April 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for adding the {{copypaste}} template on that article. All the content apart from the first sentence was a copyright violation. I have removed the template and the copyrighted material appropriately. Minimac (talk) 07:22, 26 October 2010 (UTC)

Infoboxes for solo architects versus partnerships

Hi Daryl ...We had corresponded before; it's nice to see others interested in Saskatoon architects. Where infoboxes are concerned, Template:Infobox architectural practice is ideal for architectural partnerships. Template:Infobox architect is best for solo architects because of its biographical emphasis. I think the "image" element of these infoboxes is intended for photos of the architects. I was fortunate in finding an image of Walter William LaChance that was public domain under Canadian law, but I haven't been able to find a comparable photo of Storey and/or Van Egmond. ... from Canadian2006 (talk) 02:59, 19 April 2011 (UTC)

{{stub}} tags

Hi, I've just stub-sorted your Deschambault Lake, and it raises a couple of points:

  • Stub tags go at the end after everything except inter-language links - see WP:FOOTERS
  • It's helpful to stub-sorters if you can use lower-case "s" not "S": one thing less to change.

Thanks. PamD 16:00, 3 November 2011 (UTC)

Somewhat weird request

Reiterated thanks for your reversing some unpleasant character's unwelcome addition to my page way back this year. Now I have an odd request. I inserted four extremely old photos in the Fort Qu'Appelle article but cannot get them property positioned. (They are in a section for themselves, the text of the article thus far being very limited.) Would you mind taking a look and advising what should be done? Masalai (talk) 08:12, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

Thank you so much! Hopefully the text can in due course be sufficiently expanded as to the town's history and development that the photos can be less disproportionate in quantity. Masalai (talk) 13:24, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

GO_technologies

Hi,

Thanks for taking the time to look at the Go technologies article.

I have to admit that I put myself into a difficult position with it. At first, I wondered if I should create a user name that would make it look like I was just a random person, but it seemed too dishonest. If I were writing an article that was a blatant ad (and I have seen plenty of these) then I'd need the subterfuge. I wasn't pulling vaporous memories out of my head to make myself look good, or pasting in catalog copy, but actually referencing quite a few published articles while supplying photos no one else could provide.* I thought, "I'm providing value, and if I'm writing a good, well referenced article, both it and I should be able to stand up to some scrutiny."

But, what I've written isn't the final word. Not by any means. While I can reference every sentence in the article, I write from a very particular perspective. Even though I think that I've been ruthless in editing out everything that even seemed promotional (I deleted a lot of copy), I still have that particular perspective.

I'd love to find someone who could clean it up. I like to think that I'm just starting something, and that others would add to it, correct it, contribute other references, and a different, more neutral point of view to the references that I've provided. Perhaps using material from these refernces that I didn't use, making the article more robust.

Am I that associated with GO, where my user name will be forever associated with it? I'd rather just be me, writing about things that I know something about. I worry that if I change my username, it would appear that I was trying to operate in some nefarious secretive fashion. I don't like secrets. So, anyway, any help that you could lend to this article, or if you could suggest someone else who might help, that would be great.

Third Man Theatre

Hey - thanks for your message with regard to my contribution to Wiki - I would be happy to alter the pages - having looked at other UK theatre company wiki pages I used them as a template - I felt that the info I gave was a neutral description of the company and the shows. If you could suggest what changes would be good that would be much appreciated. Many thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eddieelks (talkcontribs) 21:09, 6 March 2012 (UTC)

Please have a look at the Third Man Theatre and Botallack O'Clock page - hopefully they adhere to Wiki neutral practice. Many thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Eddieelks (talkcontribs) 09:35, 7 March 2012 (UTC)
