Jim Cummins (Photojournalist) bio submission and our chat exchange yesterday (1/29/14)
Hi Dragonfly6-7. This is Bob here. The chat line said to use this as the way to get a message to you. Was just logging in to get the status of posting the bio on Jim Cummins (Photojournalist) that you kindly offered to wrap up and get posted for me. Since the bio is not posted on Wikipedia yet (as of 1/30/14), I just want to make sure there is nothing else you need from me before it can get posted. I don't know how to see your reply other than to ask that you post your reply to the same place I got comments from the reviewers after I submitted the bio, at my account under username mjjjhjemjsrj . Am hoping that all is set and it's just a case of your inserting that citation on Jim Cummins award and then your hitting some kind of "post" button on your end. Thanks! Yesterday's help much appreciated! Bob — Preceding unsigned comment added by 50.138.229.255 (talk) 21:56, 29 January 2014 (UTC)
Dragonfly6-7. You asked whether this submission should be under username: 'Mjjjhjemjsrj' or 'Robertpokress'. Please go ahead and place this under 'Robertpokress'. Thanks. Mjjjhjemjsrj (talk) 16:51, 30 January 2014 (UTC)Mjjjhjemjsrj

Page review question
Hi DragonflySixtyseven, I am trying to create a Wikipedia page for the Cosmology Large Angular Scale Surveyor. I got a message that you had reviewed it, but I don't see what the review was (positive or negative) and it has not moved into the article space as far as I can tell. This is the first Wikipedia page that I've tried to create, so could you fill me in on how this works when you get a chance? Thanks so much! --tom.essinger.hileman (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 19:05, 30 January 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Greater (flamingo), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page National Geographic (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Dear Mr. Dragonflysixtyseven,
I would like to ask you about the review of my account. If you are accusing me of being a sock puppet, you can search and I can guarantee you I am not. If you believe I am a threat to Wikipedia, I have done minimal activity and could in no possible way be a threat. The page you reviewed, User:Busukxuan/common.css was empty, I forgot what I did wrong back then but in the end I inserted my custom CSS into User:Busukxuan/vector.css instead, so this is the page that should actually be reviewed. Busukxuan (talk) 17:12, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

- (talk page stalker) Your user page was set up like a corporate website, with external links to company pages. That's considered unduly promotional. In fact I believe your username is also a violation of Wikipedia's username policy because it's the name of a company and implies shared use. Wikipedia accounts are for individuals, not for corporations. You should take a look at bot the username policy and our guideline on conflicts of interest, and you should have your account renamed so that it only represents yourself, not your company. Writing an article about your company likely also is not a good idea due to the conflict of interest; it's not strictly prohibited, but it's very hard to maintain a neutral point of view when you're that closely associated with a topic, and you should make doubly sure that your content is neutral, not promotional, and based on reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Huon (talk) 23:31, 9 February 2014 (UTC)
Misunderstanding
Dear DeagonflySixtyseven,
the fact is that I always present myself in the same way. That website, is not a "Corporate website", is just a standby domain. It's mine, registered to me and I also have a logo for it (I'm a webmaster, not a simple user), but if there are problems with the logo I just does not use it. But the name is not "Corporate", is registered to my person. Therefore the name is not a violation of Wikipedia's username policy and represents myself, my username.

Celsia?
Hi, I see that you previously deleted a page called Celsia. I wanted to create a disambiguation page after finding what seemed to be confusion from that plant name at Celosia argentea. There are two unrelated plant genera by that name, as well as some species in other genera that previously had that name, as well as some non-plant entries in wikipedia. It's quite a muddle, and a disambig seems useful. Would there have been anything on that old page worth salvaging? Thanks. Sminthopsis84 (talk) 19:17, 10 February 2014 (UTC)

Hi there
I am very new here, but I got a message to say you reviewed my page. But it still has the unreviewed message at the top.
The pages is https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Big_Debate_South_Africa
Am I supposed to remove the "unreviewed template"? If so, I don't know how - can you help me? Or can you do it? Is there any reason why it still needs to say unreviewed?
Please help Thanks

Response regarding my page
Thanks so much for the really fast reply.
So does that mean it is not possible to remove the section at the top which says "This page is a new unreviewed article" ?
Is there anything I can or should do to get someone to review it, or will this just happen at some stage when the backlog is cleared?
Again - Thanks very much!!

- Thanks for your answer. I admit that it is a short article (it may be expanded at some point), but I am confident that articles about such companies - including links - should be present in Wikipedia, so that relevant categories are as complete as possible (thus helping researchers). Hello.Dragonfly ,In the case of Peter Brant ll we do not know if he is really gay or it is something he said to divert attention away from the story of he and his mother (which they riffed on later). Subsequently he gave an interview where he said he was bi and it seems that he is dating gots. I guess the lgbt category applies however he was very young when he said that and in the end he might turn out to be Herero we have no documented boyfriend for him though he hangs out and is photographed a lot with someone named Nick Hissom. He is friends with a lot of other out cekebreties and notables like Lorenzo Martone , Derek Blassberg and Nick Gruber, I think the jury is still out on this one but he said it Masterknighted (talk) 16:38, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
Why did you review an article in my sandbox?
Hi. I've just received an auto message saying that you've reviewed one of the articles which I'm working on in my sandbox. It's non-controversial and doesn't contain unfree images etc. Anyone is of course free to just look at people's userspaces, but please could you kindly explain why an admin needs to review it before it goes into mainspace? Like all sandbox articles, it will go through major necessary changes before being fit for mainspace - so how can it be appropriate to review it at this stage? Checking userspaces for possible violations makes sense; formally reviewing articles under userspace preparation doesn't. Is this a common practice I don't know about? Or have I accidentally included some kind of trigger for formal reviews which I need to disable? All the best. --Storye book (talk) 09:54, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
- I patrolled your page. I went through the enormously-backlogged list of newly-created pages and confirmed that your page was okay: not spam, not an attack page, not a copyright violation, not any of the other reasons for which I would delete someone's page without asking. Then I clicked "patrolled" to remove it from the list of "pages that have not yet been patrolled", and moved on to the next entry. That's all. DS (talk) 12:46, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
- Ah, thank you very much for kindly letting me know - apologies for the misunderstanding. The problem, then, was with the auto alert system which logged a review, which to a non-admin like me looks like an article-standards review, because it features a green tick like the ones used on the DYK nominations page. By the way, I've already qualified as an auto-patroller on Wikimedia Commons, and that saves admin time and saves me unnecessary hassle. Is there a similar system on en.WP? Meanwhile keep up the good work! --Storye book (talk) 13:07, 22 February 2014 (UTC)
"Malicious content"; seriously?
In your recent patrol, you reviewed the common.css file that I - like all other Wikipedia users - have attached to my account, and that I edited as is acceptable in accordance with Wikipedia guidelines; the file in question affects no accounts but my own, has the ability to do little more than change the appearance of my own username on pages I view while logged into my own account for easier browsing, and contains code that is only capable of a limited changing of font appearance and color. You posted a warning that said code might be malicious and could compromise my account. I have to ask, what exactly makes you think this? We're talking something that not only does the code quite obviously not do, but that is quite literally impossible to do in a whopping 123 characters. --IcarusPhoenix--The Labyrinth 01:33, 24 February 2014 (UTC)
- Ah, my apologies; the warning was not generated immediately, and thus wasn't where I actually edited the page a month ago; therefore, it was the only change I noticed between then and the message of your review, and I jumped to an unreasonable conclusion. --IcarusPhoenix--The Labyrinth 01:43, 24 February 2014 (UTC)

Hello DragonflySixtyseven, thanks for reviewing me. I'm new-ish here, and while I often correct little things on articles, I've been wanting to work on more stuff.
While I was in my first year of law school, I drafted a lot of briefs I think would be very helpful to submit at some point.
In my current degree, (I am taking time off to do a second bachelors / work), I've been starting to do articles about people in the entertainment industry.
Since you're an admin, I was hoping maybe you could help me with leveling up and in return I could help you with edits, research or drafts for things you have an interest in! I saw you made some recommendations for pop culture.

Hi, I received the following message from User:ORNLPirhana
Hi Jim, You originally deleted this page due to copyright. However, after informing you all that it was US gov't content and therefore not copyright infringment, you reinstated it. I was told it would be up as a "stale" page for six months. I don't know what that means but that's what they said. Now it's been deleted again for marketing. I can understand flagging it for marketing but deleting it? I'm only trying to show a client a skeleton page and then I'm going to change the content. I understand that the're can't be exceptions but I've done this in the past and never had a problem. Why was I told it would be up for six months and will it be deleted again or flagged? I'm about to lose a client over this. Please advise
Because of the user name, the promotional nature of the text, complete with url links, and the comments above, which suggest paid editing or similar financial misuse, I have blocked this user. If I had not seen you userfying it, I would have deleted the ORNL Computational Data page again. I don't wheel, I wanted to make you aware of my concerns. For the avoidance of doubt, I don't mind if you unblock the user to allow a user name change, unconditionally unblock, or leave as is. Similarly with the relevant sandbox, you can leave as is or delete. You don't need to discuss this unless you particularly want to Jimfbleak - talk to me? 19:05, 4 March 2014 (UTC)
- I think(!, it might have been another user and another page...) that I was someone involved in the article, I fist tagged it as copyvio. Later Huon reverted me saying that US goverment is under PD. I entered the #wikipedia-en-help connect and overheard that Huon told the user would be able to edit the article up to 6 months before it would become stale. Thanks for the explanation. I see many people have asked the same thing and that we have ALL missed the boxed message at the top of your "Editing User talk" page directing us to the explanation! Could the box perhaps be outlined in red or colour-highlighted so that it is not missed? I only suggest this because I am sure you get fed up having to answer the same query again and again. I suspect those who miss the boxed message are newcomers to Wiki editing like me; it is quite daunting to find one's way through the maze of pages involved in Wiki editing at first and things are easy to miss! --P123cat1 (talk) 13:46, 5 March 2014 (UTC)
Freedom Scientific
Hello, I've noticed your deletion of the Freedom Scientific article. I'm a bit curious about how you came across it. Even though the deletion seemed a little out-of-process (or were you invoking CSD G11?), I don't really mind it that much, as I've shown by deleting the talk page for you. That company is a big fish in a remarkably tiny pond (the blindness community); I can't really comment about its work related to learning disabilities. Despite being blind myself, I've generally been reluctant to work with articles about blindness on Wikipedia because of the difficulty of finding independent reliable sources for them. The best sources I've been able to find about Freedom Scientific are things like these articles from AccessWorld, a magazine about blindness from the American Foundation for the Blind. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't base an entire article on sourcing like that. Plus, the article as it was was woefully out of date, and colour me lazy, but I never really felt like updating it. It was only on my watchlist because of some previous vandalism. Graham87 03:29, 6 March 2014 (UTC)
- I kind-of endorse Graham87's comments about citations. FS is a relatively small company, in a very small market. And they are just not going to get written up much by the likes of Forbes magazine. Even if they were, the content would likely be based heavily on a company press release. I don't know what you'd be satisfied with as regards references, beyond data drawn from their own web site. I don't recall that the page was unduly advertising-oriented. I have seen numerous pages for corporations, the references for which are 3rd-party, but obviously just reports, not objective views. So why single out FS? ExpatSalopian (talk) 17:54, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
- Why single them out for restoration? I deleted it because I found it and because it was inappropriate. DS (talk) 18:55, 30 July 2014 (UTC)
More articles to delete
Hi! I have seen you that deleted the articles Androoox created. There are still some more to remove. There was a consensus to merge one of them so I have copied info from it. Too bad that many banned users don't accept that they have nothing to do here anymore. They damage other contributors work too and leave much after them, like now there are many red links for those articles, including on dab pages. --IRISZOOM (talk) 13:18, 7 March 2014 (UTC)

Need an Admin to Close a Group Photo Deletion Request
- Appreciate your decisiveness concerning the Jelly Roll Morton photo's trivial deletion-request. Similarly, I need an admin to clarify and possibly close yet another photo deletion request by User:Stefan2. Below is a link to another discussion concerning some proposed deletions of historic photos which had received written permission from their source, the San Francisco Public Library. The discussion is about 7 days old.
- It seems that of the 3 photos which were recently tagged with Deletion Requests, the below photo has still not had its templates modified to any extent to reflect the result of that discussion.
- The other 2 photos of that single deletion request have had partial adjustments to their deletion templates and I have to wonder if they are still unresolved (see links below).

Category deletion
Just a quick reminder about your recent deletion of several categories created by User:Androoox.
As pointed out at WP:BAN, because deletion of categories can strand articles as "uncategorized" or leave them sitting in redlinked categories (both of which are no-nos under our categorization rules), if you're deleting a category that was created by a banned user, then you have to manually depopulate the category before you delete it. Or, alternatively, if you don't want to take on that extra work then you can nominate it for deletion through the CFD process — but you can't just delete a category and then walk away while leaving all of its former content still filed in the redlink. That just creates another pile of maintenance work that other people have to clean up after the fact — there were almost twice as many articles on the uncategorized articles list the last time I did a tagging batch as there should normally have been, an overrun that was created almost entirely by your category deletions.
So in future, please remember that a banned user's category creations can't be deleted quite as arbitrarily as their article content can — rather, you need to take extra steps to ensure that you aren't leaving articles stranded in the deleted categories. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 22:34, 8 March 2014 (UTC)
- As important as "denying credit" is, WP:BAN is still quite explicit that if you're the one deleting the category then you're the one who needs to take responsibility for depopulating or recreating or upmerging it, or whatever other steps are necessary (such as taking it to CFD instead) to ensure that none of the articles get stranded in a redlinked category. The articles should never have landed on uncats in the first place, and if you're the one deleting a category then it's your job to keep them from landing there as part of the act of deleting it. Bearcat (talk) 23:14, 8 March 2014 (UTC)
Article deleted
Hello, You reviewed an article of mine recently and deleted it for being overly promotional. I wanted to know if the page could be made available to edit and resubmit. Nissinlaby (talk) 13:40, 11 March 2014 (UTC)
- Talk page stalker Hi Nissinlaby, I looked at the draft to see if I could restore it for you. Unfortunately, the whole thing is pretty much spam. It's more like a corporate "about us" than an encyclopedic article, which is also the reason I'm not restoring it. I looked through it, and there is nothing there that doesn't need to be completely re-written. Because there is nothing there you can use as a base for editing it, it will be of no use to you for a second attempt, and I'm not going to put you in a situation where you may be tempted to do so, which will definitely result in another decline. I considered salving the references you used, so you could re-use them in case you want to take another stab at writing it, but unfortunately, all sources are press releases, links to the organisation itself, or links to affiliated organisations. If you are affiliated with First Car Rental, or are paid to write for them, I'd like to ask you to review WP:COI. It is extremely difficult to write a neutral encyclopedic article about a subject you have a conflict of interest in, and we strongly advice against it. Cheers, Martijn Hoekstra (talk) 19:21, 11 March 2014 (UTC)

I believe that I am not a sockpuppet, but I am not so sure. Who am I? What is this place that I am at? Where am I going? How will I get to where I need to be? When is this text complete? Anyway, thank you for your studiousness in my general direction and the others that I assume that you must be going at the same time, as I was made to feel special, today. It has been awhile, since I have been able to use the Internet, and I want to complete a single article on the Wikipedia to prove to myself that I exist and that I am not merely a drug-induced delusion experienced by an ex-girlfriend. Review / Szathmary Article
Hi DragonflySixtyseven,
I received a message that you reviewed my profile. I noticed you did not leave any comments, but thought it might be good to follow up. I am a student librarian at the University of Iowa Main Library in the Special Collections department currently working on my first article on Louis Szathmary. I just updated the page with a copious amount of new information and given that it is my first article, I would appreciate it if you could review my work. I have tried my hardest to stick with Wikipedia protocol, but since I am new, I believe another set of eyes might be beneficial. Any help you or another seasoned Wikipedia editor could offer would be much appreciated!

Hobby Lobby Article Edits
Hello! I've been lurking on the Hobby Lobby talk page and I noticed your removal of the hypocrisy wording on the page and thought you might be a good person to contact about my question. I wanted to add a rebuttal to the Mother Jones piece inside the Hobby Lobby article, but wasn't sure how to go about it. I found another piece on Forbes which is a good counter point: http://www.forbes.com/sites/ryanellis/2014/04/02/hobby-lobby-owners-can-have-a-401k-and-first-amendment-rights/ It's as biased in the opposite direction as the Mother Jones piece, but it brings up good points about the nature of indexed funds and how the employees of the 401k program actually are the ones who decide where the money gets invested. Could it be offered up as a counterpoint? Something along the lines of, "However, an alternate piece put together by Ryan Ellis at Forbes, suggests that it is the employees of Hobby Lobby and the plan administrator that selected these particular funds and not Hobby Lobby itself." I have some experience in investing before, and even if I don't agree with Hobby Lobby's case the argument that the Mother Jones piece doesn't make sense. Anyhow, I'd love any suggestions you can give as I'm fairly new and don't want to step on any toes. (EasyStreetMusings)
Edit Thanks! You're right, the article is more of an attack rather than an actual source. I just edited the article instead for accuracy, using the Mother Jones source. Thanks for you help! — Preceding unsigned comment added by EasyStreetMusings (talk • contribs) 16:20, 9 April 2014 (UTC)

Please explain the reasons why the article "SSHH" was rejected. It is an article explaining the healing process known as "SSHH" or "Synergistic Solutions for Health and Healing" which is similar to "MMS" or "Miracle Mineral Solution" but modified slightly by adding an organic chelating element. Wikipedia already has an article about "MMS" but does not have an article on "SSHH" and I think the public needs this additional information available on Wikipedia. Hi DragonFly. I got a message saying you reviewed my sandbox 4. But that's actually a project I've more or less abandoned. I discussed it it on the Talk page of the Pistorius trial Talk:Trial_of_Oscar_Pistorius#Linking_to_day-by-day_media_coverage_without_necessarily_adding_content.3F, but didn't get any support and for myself I feel I can't offer the time doing it wholly by my self. If you would like to take it over, do so by all means.
I think there should be some way of linking to day by day media coverage of these sort of events, but for myself I don't feel moved to record the event itself on a day by day basis, and that was the point of what I was trying to do. But it turns out be harder than you might think to gather a full list of a particular media's coverage, many web pages using fames and so on.
I'll blank the page if that's all right. Of course you can refer to it in the History if need be. I'm not sure if I will complete on other project starts, not for a while at any rate. Coat of Many Colours (talk) 14:32, 8 April 2014 (UTC)

New Article Likely by Banned Editor
Hi DragonflySixtyseven. On the 7th of April you deleted Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Department of Health as an article created by the sock of a banned editor. I wanted to let you know that the article has been recreated by a brand new editor. I was going to tag it CSD (G-5) but I don't know the name of the banned editor. That aside I find it more than mildly suspicious that an article on such an obscure topic would be the first creation of a brand new editor only days after being deleted. - I've had a look through most of the sources, and through Google for other sources, and I think the references here (after taking out things like Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and a couple which are more database entries) are probably just enough to demonstrate notability and un-deleting the page would be acceptable, but I'm not 100% confident this wouldn't be deleted through the Articles for Deletion process, where the community reaches agreement about keeping or deleting entries on Wikipedia. My Deleted Sandbox (Mjpacheco1)
Now, I don't need to be told that my Sandbox was inappropriate, as anyone who would've read a section would've gotten that message, but why a deletion? I never intended it to be a page (That would just be spam) Nor did I want to spam someone with it, I just wanted a little sandbox that I substitute as a page for me to mess around stuff on, it wasn't intended to spam anyone with, nor was it intended to be a page, just a little place I could place stupid things on, I know it's inappropriate content for wikipedia, but it's not meant to be read any other people, just myself.
I know it was racist, that includes having Anti-semitic slurs, homophobic slurs, and all manner of backwards beliefs for minorities, but it doesn't reflect my opinions nor encourage anyone to feel like they should follow these backwards, racist opinions, as the backwards, racist opinions are coming from a backwards racist fictitious person named after a cereal brand, and I was in no way attempting to spread these opinions as if they were good ones, but make a simple joke at those who actually believe in such backwards, racist opinions.
Now I can see why you deleted my sandbox from a point of view if I said I was planning to make it into a page on the English wikipedia, but I'm here both to advise and to apologize.
I advise you write on my Talk page (sorry I didn't have one previously) if you feel like I need to the sandbox less offensive, I didn't have any knowledge that Sandboxes were supposed to have some quality to them, (hence the offensive material) so apologies on my behalf. And I'm sorry that I didn't have a user talk page open for you to warn me about the content on my sandbox, It's on now, and I would like it if you had things sent there so I know to change things if it gets too offensive and you would like me to change it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mjpacheco1 (talk • contribs) 16:20, 22 April 2014 (UTC)

pretty closely, which is, I believe, how I ran into your edit. What would it take to chance the name of "Category:Animal artists" to "Category:Animaliers", which is (opinion) the better name for those artists, sculptors and painters, who do primarily animals? Or is it too much of a jargon term? Einar aka Carptrash (talk) 17:37, 22 April 2014 (UTC)
Community Values
Hi Dragonfly, firstly i would like to thank you for passing on the invitation to participate in voicing an opinion about how wiki directs its funding towards necessary projects. Thank you. Secondly I would like to ask you a more pressing question. Australia is led particularly by a two party parliamentary system, of which it seems constituents are treated more like an encumbrance or hindrance to parliaments own agendas. The gap between political ego and true and honest leadership grows greater year by year. Wikileaks identified the contempt some politicians hold towards their constituents. How can we address such concerns at a level without obvious political or mass media interference or manipulation. Wikipedia I believe is possibly one of the only platforms that may provide a platform for Australians to truly identify ongoing concerns. The first step is identifying matters in a clear and precise manner and then prioritizing the level of urgency required before harm is done or in some cases incapable of being undone. Just two examples would be the shortsighted sale of national infrastructure, another example such as the dismantling / disabling of one of Australia's finest bodies the CSIRO. The list sadly goes on.. We are at the mercy of a government culture that remains free from accountability. It is true that people have short term memories and are easily misdirected with the next sensational media outburst. Can we create a page that may unite Australians and hopefully with time build a solid resource for all Australians to reference. To me this would be an ideal project not only for Australians but perhaps other nations, created for individuals, and or, communities that honestly care about their own future and that of future generations. As a senior Wikipedia member I would like to ask you how we may unite Australians to identify matters of concern without them becoming clouded by media bias and commercial interference. I love this country and all races that are represented within it. A central database or reference point, in my opinion, would be an invaluable and incredible asset not only to wikipedia but also to all that use it. If such a database is created it would not be difficult to unite all the young activists and dynamic groups into contributing and managing such a page. As a self proclaimed novice, i seek your advice. Respectfully Blueskiesinthemorning (talk) 06:50, 23 April 2014 (UTC)
Draft page viewed, but also vetted?
Hi DragonflySixtyseven,
I noticed that you visited my John Siracusa draft page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Drmezza/John_Siracusa_draft_page). I hadn't posted it yet, but am getting ready to do so. Do you have any comments or tips on the page beforehand? Or should I just wait for the page to appear on your patrol list? I'd rather get my facts straight instead of you having to remove it. I really want to do a good job here, and devote a nice Wiki entry for Siracusa. Get in touch to me please,
Best regards,
Menno

Tracking a draft article submission in Wikipedia
DragonflySixtyseven, A while back you helped me with a draft I was working on. I resubmitted the draft but do not know how to track it to see the status of it. I am wondering how I know what happens next with a draft I submitted. The draft was for "Starfish Retention Solutions." Is there a way that I can see where it is and what others are doing with it? Thank you for the help!

I need help understanding how things are done on Wikipedia
I am placing this on your talk page because you reviewed the Startup Village, Yokneam topic that was redirected out of existence the day after it was approved. I think the redirection is wrong, but I don't think that it is appropriate for me to just undo what someone else did. My understanding of Wikipedia is that I should try to be as detached as possible, and it is difficult to be detached from the first Wikipedia page that you create.
I've added my replies to the Yokneam talk page, the Startup Village, Yokneam talk page (that is not easy to find now) and to the talk page of the editor that redirected. I also tried to ask for help at the Teahouse. The editor that redirected gave a reply on his/her talk page that I felt was condescending, but not correct. I responded there.
My first question is: Did I do something wrong? If yes, how should I have responded (past and future)? My second question is: Can you help me out or guide me? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Unclefeet (talk • contribs) 16:33, 29 April 2014 (UTC)

RE: Essay Mills
My apologies, I didn't realize that you had removed it. I thought that it was something I had accidentally removed when I was correcting italics during one of my earlier edits of the article. I saw that it was just the citation missing so that was why I reinserted it. I noticed that you removed almost that entire paragraph during your 2nd edit. Do you think you could reinsert that and just keep the referral to the essay mill out? That seems like it would work better than not having the information, at all. Requesting Specific Guidance
Perhaps my initial request was too vague. There is a recommendation that the Chartis article be merged with AIG's page. I think the Property Insurance page could be strengthened with parts of AIG's page since it shows how current events and emerging trends effect it's regulation by the government. Hurricane Sandy and updated payouts of the WTC are not on the Property Insurance page either - which to me seem to be relevant. Do you think adding more information would be beneficial to the Property Insurance page? If so would you be interested in collaborating what facts should be included? Any response would be kindly appreciated. Thank you.Lgkkitkat (talk) 18:05, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

Hi Dragonfly
Thank you for making the word changes in the sentence. Greatly appreciated. I can't believe that Benboy00 can't understand the grammar after I had posted on the editors page.
I am greatly disappointed, as to what has become of Wikipedia, since I last created a page. I have been given inaccurate information in Wikipedia help, the editing, and the attitude of the people behind the scenes. I spend so much time trying to fix screw ups by editors, as this page may be the last page I create. The amount of time I have to allocate to fix these screw ups, has turned into days. There are too many editors working on pages and making changes, when they have no idea as to what has previously transpired or have the knowledge to edit.
Some one who was on my talk page and on the talk page for The Ribbon International, sanitized information that was contained on the pages. There is no record of it. I would greatly having it restored, since it my page. Contained on the talk page for The Ribbon International was a response to a bot making the changes to the addition of the word magazine. I had removed the word magazine as it wasn't contained in all the publications, and looked out of place in a direct quote. I had highlighted the publications that are listed on Wikipedia, if there was any question about the publication. There was a response to my edits, on the talk page, saying that the word magazine was an auto bot placement, and could be removed. Benboy00 has gone back and added the word magazine, however he screwed up with Time.
Today, Filedelinkerbot removed the route map of The Ribbon International File:The Ribbon Route.jpg. There is no copyright on the map. It was sent to me by the Executive Director of The Ribbon International, to be place on the page, as she had no idea at how to place it on the Wikipedia page. I had previously discussed the map in Wikipedia help with Howicus and Huon, informing them of the copyright status, the age of the map and how I obtained it. Both of them told me I could use the map and designate there was no copyright and to put the thirty years in the description.
Also today, I received four email notices from Mendaliv, concerning three images for possible deletion. The route map is one and the others are File:Helicopter view Pentagon.jpg and File:Betty Bumpers.jpg. On April 12th, permission (via template format) was sent into Wikipedia by Nigel Noble, releasing the video. Sven_Manguard happened to be in Wikipedia help that evening, he was able to locate the email release sent by Nigel. I discussed with him in the chat room about putting the copyright notice on the cuts I was planning on using and he said that was permissible. I also communicated with Sven on his talk page numerous times, and then I informed him of uploading and placing the cuts on The Ribbon International Wikipedia page. Once, additional copy is added to lengthen the article, I plan on possibly adding additional cuts from Nigel's video. 1 Hi Sven[edit] I uploaded the photos tonight 5/1/2014. Thank you for all your help. If you have any problems please feel free to contact me. Susan Macafee (talk) 04:29, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
The following is also from Sven's talk page, as I had been given wrong information in Wikipedia help concerning the use of a photo. I was told that I had to get permission to use the photo.
Hi again. I had received permission (took two months) from the family of Justine Merritt to use the photo of her from a web site. I just uploaded and didn't place on page. Justine's family member, Susan Helmer received an email from Wiki, saying the permission was not acceptable. A tag was issued, and placed on the talk page, saying the file would be deleted within so many days. Susan has been delayed sending in the template for the release. However, the tag on the talk page has been removed and I have placed the photo on the page. Confused, would you be kind enough explain. Susan Macafee (talk) 19:08, 2 May 2014 (UTC)
I would like to restore two edits made by NeilN recently. He removed the "Article" section and removed an entry that was contained in "Videos".
Thank you for all your help. Since all this has consumed most of my day, I have a life out side of Wikipedia. Have things to get done today. Susan Macafee (talk) 21:23, 17 May 2014 (UTC) I forgot to add that Sven is an Admin in Commons.
Day #2
I just saw that the file File:The Ribbon Route.jpg was deleted by User:Fastily. He didn't even wait a day from the removal and the email notice sent by Mendaliv concerning the image and deletion. The image had NO COPYRIGHT ON IT. Now I have to spend time dealing with Commons over this image, which has been on the page for 2 1/2 months. Also, I have to take time out to find out what happened with Sven and the other two files in Commons. I also have to find out why Benboy00 edited and reverted the word magazine, when he said the amount of edits he makes is not important. The reply to my removal of magazine by the bot, which has been sanitized from the talk page, said the bots additions, if they were not appropriate could be removed. Susan Macafee (talk) 19:00, 18 May 2014 (UTC)
Back again. Another half day on Wikipedia trying to locate and find out what happened to some photos I uploaded. Between yesterday and today, it is now a whole day I have spent trying to fix screw ups on Wikipedia. The two images previously mentioned are showing on the Wiki page, but are not in my Commons photo file. I have left a message on Sven's talk page concerning the problems with the files. 2
I also posted on Benboy00's talk page, asking him:Why are you so incessant about making reverting edits? I though so said you weren't concerned with the amount of edits you make. I also questioned his edits and provided information concerning the addition of magazine. 3 I'll try to get some things done today besides Wikipedia. PEACE Susan Macafee (talk) 22:55, 18 May 2014 (UTC)

The article Giraffes on Horseback Salad has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Not notable, never made and no significant coverage.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. JDDJS (talk) 01:55, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
Regarding articles Narendra Modi and List of Prime Ministers of India URGENT
Hello,
You are an administrator and i believe you can fix this. Check this discussion which is not sorting anything out and appears useless. It has been going on for days.
If u read the news u may know that India has a new prime minister Narendra Modi and discussion is regarding him being which prime minister. He is the 15th, references Prime Minister's Office website Modi is 15th PM, news references 1, 2.
Secondly regarding List_of_Prime_Ministers_of_India which does not number Nanda(acting PM and 2nd PM of India) as a prime minister (even though he is mentioned in a row) but in fact he was sworn in as the prime minister twice. 1 former prime ministers PMO 2 personal profile PMOPMO official citations . Counting Nanda we have 15 prime ministers( all counted once ).
Whenever somebody corrects these pages it is reverted. Its two days since Modi is the PM and Wikipedia being a standardized website should have fixed the error. I don't know whether admins are aware of this. If you could please inform the required admins to make the necessary edits or do it yourself.
This is an important event in India and Wikipedia should update itself to the facts. I HOPE U TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY.

Review of User page
Hi, {{ping|DragonFlySixtySeven)). I am a newbie, so please bear with me if this is a silly question - those are my speciality!
I just received a notification that my page User:Gronk Oz/Awards has been "reviewed" by you. But I am not sure what that means - is there some problem I should be aware of? I created the page after another editor was kind enough to send me a Barnstar, and it meant a lot so I wanted to keep it for a sense of perspective. But if that is not appropriate, then please let me know and I will fix it. --Gronk Oz (talk) 03:54, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
That's all. DS (talk) 04:12, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
- Ah, got it - thanks for the feedback. And thanks for the huge, mostly thankless job you do patrolling. Now that I know what it is, I appreciate it all the more. --Gronk Oz (talk) 04:19, 29 May 2014 (UTC)

a week ago or so I came to a chat room we talked and you explained that you wanted to see some media coverage before handing me over to another administrator. the other administrator say the media coverage was not sufficient and wanted to see TV coverage which that day did not have yet. good news I know have two channels who have aired their program featuring our attractions.
I believe this is what you needed to put us back on track 171.5.7.243 (talk) 14:08, 13 July 2014 (UTC) thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by 223.207.196.65 (talk) 17:08, 4 June 2014 (UTC)
"[Page name] was reviewed by DragonflySixtyseven
Hi! I just got this message for a couple of my pages and was very confused (I do that easily); I did, however, have sense enough to review this page and now know what the notification means. Thank you for performing what must be a deadly dull chore! My confusion stemmed from knowing that there is such a thing as "article review"; I couldn't imagine why my sandbox or a .js page were being "reviewed"—in fact, I felt that my sandbox was nobody's business but my own. The notification message isn't very informative. Might I suggest that you put a brief note at the top of this page explaining what it means when a user gets one of these notifications? Perhaps even at the very top, above IMPORTANT NOTE.... Just a thought. Again, thanks for your diligence and dedication!—D'Ranged 1 VTalk 20:36, 4 June 2014 (UTC)

Question for you
I didn't intentionally try and approve my submissions, its just confusing because in BRIGHT RED font on top of the page it gave me instructions to do so. Apologies, will not happen again. Did you review my page, and what were your thoughts? Adippoli (talk) 17:34, 6 June 2014 (UTC)Adippoli
After having giving the matter some thought, I think you ought to be chided for your deletion of Sweetie (The Internet Avatar), claiming it was an "apparent" copyvio. Your effort to rail about the "feel" of the article on User talk:Lirani was misplaced and ultimately damaging to the WEF effort, despite your earlier apology. It wouldn't surprise me if that professor never returns to Wikipedia. My own message to the professor was rooted in trust of your deletion decision (in part because I cannot view deleted content). Had I known that you had no leg to stand on, I would never have couched my comments in the manner I did. While your edits to Sweetie (internet avatar) have been very helpful they hardly make up for your earlier error in judgement.
It is my observation that when exercising authority, one would do well to apply policy (like WP:DCV) rather than shoot from the hip. Chris Troutman (talk) 18:37, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
- Actually, given the subsequent comments that Lirani and I exchanged, it would surprise me if that professor never returns to Wikipedia. I should also point out that the draft and the version posted as an article were substantially identical: the student had posted the page twice. If you like, I can go over the content of the original draft with you (although not right now, I've got actual work from which I'm procrastinating), and compare it to the sources which the student cited, and show you the similarities in content and structure which made me suspicious. Would you like to make an appointment? DS (talk) 18:44, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
- That's hardly necessary, as the things which made you suspicious are not grounds for unilateral deletion. My point is that you are bound to follow WP:DCV and without evidence of copyvio you have no business deleting content. We have policies and guidelines for a reason and I shouldn't have to explain this to an admin. What good did your IAR moment do for the student involved, the class professor, or for Wikipedia? Simply because an editor posted a poorly-written, questionable article does not authorize you to delete it. Chris Troutman (talk) 18:56, 7 June 2014 (UTC)
- Chris, you commented elsewhere that copyright violations are taken very seriously on Wikipedia. That's absolutely correct, which is why there's always going to be a small number of incidents like this. I know that in 90-95% of copyright cases we can normally find a source - either the URL of a web page, image or the book from which content has been copied, but sometimes it is necessary to be proactive and delete content when all we have is a suspicion it is a copyright violation. I know it's little consolation when you see your work or that of a group you're affiliated with being deleted, but there isn't really an option to leave work sitting around whilst we confirm the copyright status of content (which can take a few minutes, but can also take days or weeks if the user isn't available). I understand your frustration, but DF6-7 is acting in the best interests of the project, in a quite difficult situation, so please, lay off him. Nick (talk) 20:07, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

The Ribbon International
Benboy00 is back on the page collecting brownie points for editing. He deleted the map, which I reverted. I left him the following message on his talk page.
I see that you picked up another edit for your brownie points; I thought you said you weren't trying to collect brownie points. I reverted your edit. The map of The Ribbon Route has been on the page since March 7th. A bot removed it due to the "no copyright" status. I spent a week getting the "no copyright" status approved and cleared through Commons. There are two descriptions of The Ribbon route on the page. For people that have not been to Washington D.C., the map provides a visual image of The Ribbon route, showing the location of the Pentagon, the National Mall, White House and the U.S. Capitol. About my deleted sandbox and Browne Boyz page
Hi. I know why you've deleted my sandbox and Browne Boyz page...they contain works of fiction which are NOT how Wikipedia is supposed to be used. I didn't really know how to use my userpage...I've only been on Wikipedia for a month and I thought it was OK. So sorry, I will never attempt to do anything like that again. And when I do recreate my sandbox sometime in the future, I will use it for the right reasons...TO CARRY OUT TEST EDITS, NOT to make jokes about Fanboy and Chum Chum and other stuff. You taught me an important lesson on how to use my userpage's subpages which I will remember on my Wikipedia-editing days to come. --SalmonCat (talk) 10:58, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
About your editing of the American Institute of Homeopathy (AIH) page
Hi. Can you tell me why you deleted 41% of the text on the AIH page? Most of the text you deleted was from the History section, and each statement included a reference citation. You also deleted external links. Please explain why you did this. Cfshahnemann (talk) 16:05, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
- The content I removed was about the general history of homeopathy, and did not pertain to the AIH itself. As such, it is superfluous and unnecessary. DS (talk) 16:27, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for the clarification about AIH vs history of homeopathy. However, based on the criterion you specified, I believe several of your deletions are inappropriate. 1) the History, for the year 1900 -- on the AIH website is the following: "On 21 June 1900, the American Institute of Homeopathy celebrated the successful surmounting of the triple challenge of selecting the sculptor, acquiring the legislation, and amassing the funds for our memorial to Hahnemann with the splendid public dedication of the Hahnemann Monument at Scott Circle, NW, Washington, DC. Graced by the presence of many government dignitaries, including U.S.President William Mc Kinley, himself, as well as the "President’s Own" Marine Corps Band, the ceremony marked the presentation of this artistically stunning bronze and granite edifice to the people of the United States by the American Institute of Homeopathy." My point is that this monument is in existence because the members of the American Institute of Homeopathy brought about its creation. Thus, this is about the work of the AIH, it's not merely about the history of homeopathy. 2) the History, for the years 1974, 1987, 1997, and 2010 pertain to history of AIH, not history of homeopathy per se. Why were these deletions made? Thank you again.Cfshahnemann (talk) 16:56, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a library. We cover articles in an encyclopedic manner, presenting relevant information on each subject we have an article on. That means we don't present every piece of information about any given subject, but edited 'highlights' which will typically remove material that's of interest only to members, and instead focus on material of interest to our readers, who come from many different countries, speak many different languages and have different levels of interest in any given topic.
- You have a good history section on your own website, at [4] and we have linked to your website at the end of the article, which is the accepted way of directing traffic to your site. I hope that explains a bit about how we do things on Wikipedia. Nick (talk) 18:18, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
Yes, that does help, and I understand and accept your thinking. (Just a suggestion -- writing "brutally trimmed" as the reason for editing was not helpful, especially for a new page created by a new user.) Wikipedia suggested that we upload a photo -- I'm thinking of uploading a photo of the Hahnemann monument -- being able to write one sentence about the monument in our history would be appreciated. Thank you for your time. Cfshahnemann (talk) 18:27, 21 June 2014 (UTC)

Can you tell me the easiest way to report pornographic vandalism? I suspect I will delete my account rather than deal with such things all the time. Thank you.Cfshahnemann (talk) 22:23, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
This vandalism occurred on the page with my user name IreneSebastian. Can you tell me what I need to do to delete both my user pages? Cfshahnemann (talk) 22:37, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
- Ah, the idiot in question has already been blocked (he was spewing that garbage on random pages for approximately 6 minutes before someone reported it), and I've blacklisted the image myself. It's not actually possible to delete a Wikipedia account — you can just stop using it. That said, of course, it'd be a shame to let a child drive you off. DS (talk) 22:59, 21 June 2014 (UTC)
Thank you for your attention to this. Is it typical for user pages to be vandalized frequently so that one must constantly spend time dealing with these problems?IreneSebastian (talk) 23:03, 21 June 2014 (UTC)

Retrieving Ikin
Hello — I noticed you recently deleted the DAB/surname page Ikin because it once had a connection to Someone Bad. I put some effort into improving that page, including adding several entries for individuals already mentioned in other articles which previous editors had missed, and I'm disappointed to see that work flushed without even an AfD discussion. I did not keep an offline copy of the article contents, somehow thinking that Wikipedia's infrastructure was far more redundant and reliable than my own, and that a private backup would be silly. Oops, my bad. Would you please retrieve the contents of Ikin, and put it either in my user space or in some other acceptable neutral corner? And could you point me towards instructions on how to clean bad karma from a Wikipedia article? Thanks! Unician ∇ 19:55, 23 June 2014 (UTC)

Physta: deleted page
New to Wiki. My page on a branded extract called Physta was deleted by you as much too promotional. When I started contributing to a plant page (eurycoma longifolia), I realized a notable topic can be created on the subject of a popular branded ingredient based on this plant. I intend to rewrite the page and need to know if my style of writing is the cause for the deletion however I think its has been neutrally written (and mostly substantiated by properly cited literature i.e books and peer-review journals).
Thanks.

Category trees
Hello,
I noticed that you were reviewing some of the category tree pages I created, and wondered if you had any questions or comments. Some of the lists of articles are from Wikipedia searches that I did for certain terms, then manually categorized the results. Even broad categories can be helpful when looking at thousands of search results. Even a simple classification - "this fits with what I was looking for" or "this does not fit", helps -- especially when the articles are listed alphabetically too.
I have played with the "category tree all" template and have a wish list of ideas for improving it, but not capable of programming the changes myself. I tried to modify the "category tree all" with "mycatree", but could not get it to work like I wanted. I was trying to invoke "category tree all" template within a javascript, but that did not work.
I tried some category intersection tools, but they break when I tried broad categories like "scientist", "agriculture".
I would like to have a way to assign a category/classification to pages in Wikipedia, perhaps by adding a class table to the central database that shows the classes/categories for every pageid. I would like to at least have animal, vegetable, mineral, person, place, thing kinds of classes for every page. It would be good to tag all the Wikipedia internal maintenance pages, all the chemistry pages, all the mathematics pages. The category intersection tool works for some categories, but tends to break because the category pages are built from the bottom up, without broad categories - except for namespace.
A class/category/tag table in the central database could be filled by using something like the category interection tool, but for broader categories. This would only need to be done periodically - to traverse the category pages down to specific articles and assign them tags. I can see the day when editors routinely interact with a class/category/tag editor to maintain broad classes like human, place, organization, book, etc.
I have investigated template usage to see that most of the most commonly used templates are purely edit/display/note related. But some templates like "coord" indicate "place". And many biographies use bio templates. Many species use taxon templates.
Kind regards, RC711 (talk) 18:10, 14 July 2014 (UTC)
