The article List of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer cartoon Studio Complete Filmography has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Completely outsourced list. No lede. No evidence of basis for use of the word 'complete' in title.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Handheld Game template?

[edit]

I was going to say, what you should probably consider is creating a new template for handheld games since that seems to be the only template missing from the group of templates. Sub groupings in the template should probably be electronic handhelds (classic led and LCD games from the 70s and 80s, which don't classify as video games and correlates with the article of the same name, handheld electronic game) and actual handheld game consoles (handheld game console). --Marty Goldberg (talk) 15:16, 23 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Super Bowl 50 page move

[edit]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give Super Bowl L a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Super Bowl 50. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut-and-paste-move repair holding pen. Thank you. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:50, 4 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

See also

[edit]

I'm not sure what was confusing about my edit summary, but I'll try explaining again: Your See also additions here and here are not consistent with WP:SEEALSO. Unless it's for something obvious like "List of Peanuts characters", which are obviously related to Peanuts, you need to include an explanation for why we're "seeing also".

  • Lee Mendelson Films - Other films produced by Lee Mendelson, the producer of the Peanuts specials

...or whatever your rationale is for including these links. Also, "See also" should be formatted in sentence case, not lower case.

Please restore when you're ready to explain why you're including these links. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:34, 31 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

IF you need explanation, Lee Mendelson Films and Melendez Films, both companies are responsible for producing Peanuts specials, the TV series and all the 2-D films. ONlything they did not produce are the video games, and the upcoming 3-d film, and probably some of the documentaries. the filmography doesn't explain much about the producer as I think filmography should always bring you back to the actor or the producer or the studio that made the films in question. But the real problem is the fact if you clicked on the articles Lee Mendelson Films doesn't explain much just repeats the large majority of the filmography. So comparing and merge the two might be wiser. Melendez Films actually has some text written but needs better sourcing should be kept on. Lee Mendelson films doesn'T list any filmogrpahy on its website, and everything Peanuts relaated seems to be listed on Melendez films website. I would think that these are one of the same company . FilmFair and DHX Media

[edit]

Hi, thanks for converting List of FilmFair (UK) programs into a redirect. I assume you created it before realizing that the FilmFair article already has a more detailed list. Maybe you also didn't realize that List of DHX Media programs is a list of all DHX Media properties, including both acquisitions and original programming. This is a completely appropriate and relevant list to link to from the FilmFair article. The lead section of List of DHX Media programs explains unambiguously what its scope is. The FilmFair article already has two links to the main DHX Media article in the body and in the infobox. I'm going to restore the FilmFair article one more time. There is no need for an edit war. Now that you know the situation, thank you for understanding. —Ringbang (talk) 21:52, 25 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I would argue that DHX Media Programs list still needs, cleanup as its impossible to say from that article if shows listed on that article where originally produced by DHX Media or not or if DHX has current distribution rights to these or not. Copying within Wikipedia requires proper attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Pirates of the Caribbean into List of Disney video games. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. The attribution has been provided for this situation, but if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, please provide attribution for that duplication. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was moved, attribution is not required. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 12:10, 15 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. This is a notice to inform you that a tag has been placed on List of tv series based on video games requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, a "See also" section, book references, category tags, template tags, interwiki links, images, a rephrasing of the title, a question that should have been asked at the help or reference desks, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. List of longest-running United States television series

[edit]

Subject: Scooby-Doo on List of longest-running United States television series

Scooby-Doo counts as one continuous program because it is presented as such. Star Trek does not because each show there is presented as it's own series. That's why Scooby-Doo stays on the list. It has been included on the list for years now, and I was not the person who added it. As such, please do not remove it again unless a clear consensus is found on the talk page.

Universal Classic Horror moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Universal Classic Horror, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.  I dream of horses  If you reply here, please ping me by adding {{U|I dream of horses}} to your message  (talk to me) (My edits) @ 08:29, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

oh...thanks. Well If you read the talk page on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Universal_Classic_Monsters#Proposal_to_pair_down_the_list_of_%22classic%22_films_to_those_released_under_the_%22Monsters%22_banner you will understand what this article is supposed to include every film released under the Universal classic Horror banner that were not part of the core Universal classic monsters films as films are related but separate. As that IP on the talk page doesn't provide any valid source that the films that belong under the Universal classic monster banners are indeed ca 43 films not ca 30 films so I choose to reduce that original list to films that were actually released under that Universal classic monster banner as they were according to recent DVD's and Blu-rays releases https://www.amazon.com/Universal-Classic-Monsters-Complete-Collection/dp/B07DKY35N5/ref=sr_1_1?crid=3P626VNO0CAIR&keywords=universal+classic+monsters+complete+30-film+collection+blu-ray&qid=1579891047&sprefix=Universal+classic+mon%2Caps%2C281&sr=8-1 and list everything else the not released under that Monster banner on Universal Classic Horror as the IP does imply that Universal Picture also Used that banner for films that were horror related but did not include the core monsters. As I cannot find those sources that are valid that would confirm the existence of that second banner i.e Universal Classic Horror for time being, i'm fine with leaving this on a draft page for now. But on the original Universal Classic Monster page I intend to add a section about various DVD and Blu-ray releases. Just prevent that other editors don't start to re-add those films I just removed from there I dream of horses DoctorHver (talk) 18:26, 24 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Fitness for Living

[edit]

Fitness for Living is completely unsourced and the only mention is on Wikia and even there it's marked [citation needed]. Any proof for its existence? TryKid[dubiousdiscuss] 23:27, 13 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes it does exist https://d23.com/a-to-z/fitness-for-living-film/ and here is someone selling copy one of the films https://www.ebay.com/itm/16mm-Fitness-for-Living-What-is-Physical-Fitness-Walt-Disney-Educational-400-/362623437288 however when it comes generally to these Disney educational films just not this particular educational series fitness for Living. Information on various Disney educational films are few and far between so official site like d23 doesn't offer much on them nether does the book Disney A to Z: The Official Encyclopedia so all that tells me Disney did not keep a proper track on these educational films they have produced since their official published records offer little one them and various secondary sources by various independent film historians don´t offer much either. I once went through a list of over 100s of these films and I didn't find any valid information about whether some of them were actually made, for others, I could find limited information that they were indeed produced but the information on them was so inadequate it was impossible to tell what they were actually about. On maybe only 10% of these films I could find proper information about them or I could find the films themselves on Youtube or on Vimeo or Dailymotion the list of these films can be found on the following websites: https://www.bcdb.com/cartoons/Walt_Disney_Studios/Shorts/Educational/ and https://web.archive.org/web/20160401230520/http://disneyshorts.org/miscellaneous/educational.aspx be forwarned there some disparity between these lists they were not compiled from the same source it seems. but I have no idea what information these website used to creates these lists DoctorHver (talk) 00:26, 14 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

How about you read the notice on top of Democracy Index talk page

[edit]

That notice was put specifically because so many people tried to change the index when thar misses the whole point. That article is specifically about the report produced by the Economist Intelligence Unit, so any index other than the one done by EUI doesn't belong there. Changing the index is misrepresenting what EUI said.

And FYI, monarchies can be democracies, because in democratic countries the monarchs aren't being dictators over the entire political system, it's the democratic institutions that does the governing. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2606:6000:60CC:C900:D444:14B0:5C01:4BA7 (talk) 14:01, 30 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries

[edit]

I note that, while you have been editing at Wikipedia for over 11 years, you do not seem to have grasped the concept of the edit summary. You consistently put something in the edit summary box, but it is almost always meaningless (often just a single character). Please learn to use the edit summary box properly.WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 18:18, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I deleted your question about edit summary, because you forgot your signature with that question, so I thought at first that was some IP edit, and I think you are free to remove IP edits from your talk page if they don't sound legit. I was about to restore it and I put your signature on it if thats ok, when you made this complant with the noticeboard. But if you feel better I have restored your question and put your signature on it if you are fine with that. But some time ago, I was altering my settings on my profile and for some reason when I was done, I couldn't publish any edits unless I give edit summary. I wasn't to sure what to do in the settings to fix the problem, So because of that i became used to making this annoying 1 letter summaries. Personally I find this annoying that I cannot do edits without having to do edit summaries, but most epdits I try to do should be self explainatory. If they need explaination I do an proper edit summary on them. So if any admin or mod could know what I should be looking at in mysettings to fix this problem it would be great.DoctorHver (talk) 19:34, 7 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You have been doing this repeatedly today, and it appears disruptive. The Hand That Feeds You:Bite 14:26, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

hum, not sure what this warning is about, but re-organizing a list article can hardly been called unconstructive or experimental, or vandalism specially since no content was permentely removed. But I can probably agree its probably not the best method of moving things around, i.e copy, delete, and paste. Its better to edit the article on the whole, but considering how big the article is I just wanted to ensure I was moving correct catagory around each time. I didn't want copy part of another catagory by accident, as scrolling down while copying can sometimes result lot of more content being higlighted than intended. I would prefer if wikipedia offered some easier method of moving pre-existing content around in an articles, by jut clicking on TOC list (if it exist) and move the things around there. With that said I'm going to argue that flows of articles x in popular culture and similar named articles always flow better if similar Media Adaptations in similar mediums are keept as close to each other as possible. Screen mediums like film and TV (including both animation and Live-action) stage plays are related to those but they are not screen media unless they are recorded and then they can be screened as ether TV or feature film. I would probably list them before any screen adaptions as earliest stage play when adapted usually (not always) predates any screen adaptions. Sound only mediums such as Audio, radio and music. Print media, such as literature and comics. The games and video games considering how interactive those mediums are, and finally anything else that don't fit elsewhere. Another reason I see for organizing article like this is the fact that not every one browsing these articles might be doing so for the same reason someone could only be intrested in screen adaptions of a particular work while someone else might be only looking for print media adaptions. DoctorHver (talk) 18:51, 26 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Part of the problem is that you left no edit summary, so all I could figure was you were removing content in one edit and then pasting it back in with the next. A second problem is you don't need to save in between the copy & paste. There's no reason to do so and it just fills the edit log with extra changes.
Another is that there's no real manual of style saying that articles need rearranged like this. I can appreciate wanting things to "make sense," but there's going to be disagreement among various users as to what actually does make sense for these orders.

Of course, I do agree edit summaries should probably be more used specially if someine is moving stuff around, thats why I think wikipedia should offer an edit tool that can do that, more easily than a copy/paste (cut) protocool as I hate moving content around this way. But I'm glad you can appreciate that I want to make articles flow make sense, and I do agree there is no established order, but when it comes to lists that deals with adaptations of orignal work I have notice that things are very diffrent in articles that deal with works that are in public domain compared to those that are still under copyright. In the former its often more hard to make more sense of adaptions invidually in than the later and it doesn't seems to matter whether its film, TV, stage, audio etc while in the later things are more in order an easier to navigate. I would like to think that most folks looking at these type of articles are probaly most looking for film and TV adaptiations so I would argue that at minimum those two catagories should be keept as close to one another regardless of anything else. DoctorHver (talk) 21:01, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Cameos or minor appearences does not make something an instalmet in a franchise. Jungle Book note.

[edit]

See for example Template:Spider-Man films which does not include Captain America: Civil War or any of the Avengers films. Also, you forgot to add italics to the films title. And don't add capitalization to random words on templates, that's not how you're supposed to do it.★Trekker (talk) 19:09, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Then the actual temple, which then don't include it: That is disparity betwen the two far as i'm concerned if The Haunted World of El Superbeasto is supposed to be connected to Firefly then the actual temple should also include link to that film as well rather than no link, if Its not supposed to be connected then the above table needs to be fixed, and EL Superbeasto removed other wise the two will just confuse readers. So I was trying to establish parity between the two. If it came of as and edit war then I do applogy.

with that said plenty of templates that have related section, even if some of the stuff included in them vague or questionable connection.

Regarding Jungle Book, *Elephant Boy (1937) is not Mowgli story, so it shouldn't included with the Mowgli films, as thats confusing. There are also two Chuck Jones special that are not based on Mowgli stories, but are not included of course in the template because they don't have any articles on Wikipedia they are The White Seal (1975), Rikki-Tikki-Tavi (1975) and would slot fine with Elephant Boy if they had an article. Since the temple starts with books section, followed by Mowgli stories followed by other stories, so it would flow more natural in the adaption section if we had adaptions of Mowgli stories seperate from adaptations of other stories. The only problem here is what to do with the Disney stuff, since they were given their own giant subsection which actually doesn't make the templete look rather odd, and if the template is not supposed to be about the Disney Franchie then obviously it needs to removed (and perhaps recreated as its own seperate Template) since the work didn't originate with Disney. SO I think that the The Disney Adaptations shouldn't be given more weight than other adaptions of Mowgli stories. But I don't know particularly about Jungle Book but its been known that Disney Adaptions of external works are often some of the most unfaithful to the original work, Pinocchio is a good example. DoctorHver (talk) 20:16, 1 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I've removed the original research nonsense from the list of characters, that was added only a couple of months ago and was first reveted by a trusted editor, but then added back by an IP. At most the animated film can be listed on an "See also" or "Related" section, it should not be given prominese as if it was an actual instalment in the series. As for the Jungle Book, my point was that you shouldn't edit the sections as if they were headlines with capitalized words.★Trekker (talk) 15:05, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I give the error table a strike through since it was fixed in the main article. With that said I'm always on the option when it comes to connecting films together there should always been some form of offical statement or publication that establish such fact, whether its original author or publisher. If noting of such note exist, then its just anyone is guessing game which probably what happened in that orignal research. Thus cameos shouldn't connect diffrent franchies/films together into one franchies/film series specially if those cameos are not even a speaking one (not sure if that was the case with Firely/Superbasterdo (as I have not seen any of these films)). As for Jungle Book I see your point now, but with that said the Disney section needs to go(since the templete isn't about Disney, same with any other tamplate that does this where the work didn't originate with Disney) so it owuld be better if adaptions part would be divided into Mowgli adaptions and then adaptions of other stories. Your userpage

[edit]

Hi, DoctorHver. I'd like to politely raise a concern about the link at the top of your userpage. WP:UP#NOT advises: there is broad agreement that you may not include in your user space material that is likely to bring the project into disrepute, or which is likely to give widespread offense (emphasis omitted), and it's my view that your link to Transgenderism: the great delusion of our time, which compares trans rights to witch hunts and alien abductions and challenges the doctrine ... that 'transphobia' is a most grievous transgression, does qualify as "likely to give widespread offense." I know that I'm personally offended, so there's one step toward "widespread". I imagine that most of Category:Transgender Wikipedians and Category:Non-binary Wikipedians would be offended as well, with 472 editors between them as of this writing, and likely hundreds more who've declined to categorize themselves.

As such, I would politely request that you remove the link from your userpage. If you want to indicate your alignment with beliefs like Patrick West's, there are ways to do so without appearing to endorse an essay that brands many of our editors as living a "delusion". -- Tamzin (she/they) | o toki tawa mi. 17:06, 3 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon It appears that you copied or moved text from Lou Gehrig Memorial Award to List of Major League Baseball awards. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. DanCherek (talk) 01:39, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Well, editing baseball articles are not my strong suit, so I generally don't edit these articles. However it was surprising that the List of Major League Baseball awards did not include Lou Gehrig Memorial Award an annual award first awarded in 1955, in Gehrig's honor. I actually wrote in the edit summary section question why it wasn't included although I forgot the ? mark. Where I question why this particular individual award in MLB wasn't included on List of Major League Baseball awards when the article about the award actually includes link over to the "List of" article. If you know anything about baseball feel free to trim the text on the "list of" article. If not then lets hope someone with bit more baseball knowledge sees the copied text and rewrites copied text to fit the "list of" article better. DoctorHver (talk) 02:57, 29 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
My original message had nothing to do with whether or not the award belongs on the page, and I have no opinion on whether the text needs to be trimmed. I'm just asking that any time you copy text from one article to another, you provide attribution in the edit summary to indicate that the text was copied, for the reasons detailed at WP:Copying within Wikipedia. Also worth noting that the France article (in which this TV series originally created) leaves lot to be desired also.). But I suggest this should get proper discussion before any decision is made whether or not to delete the article. Far as the show itself is concerned its actually quite good, its dark themed sci-fi fantasy similar to He-man. But since this show isn't American produced by certain American studios it seems ot mostly have vanished from face of earth DoctorHver (talk) 23:51, 29 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

International editions of Where's Wally?

[edit]

Hi – I was wondering why you deleted the section on international editions of Where's Wally? (in this edit). In the edit summary, you called it a "trivia section", but that doesn't seem to fit how that term is used at MOS:TRIVIA. Also, that guideline says it "does not suggest removing trivia sections". I couldn't find any other guideline or policy that would suggest to remove such a section. In fact, such sections seem to be quite normal, e.g. Three Investigators#International and foreign-language editions, and some series even have an entire article just about their translations, e.g. Translations of The Lord of the Rings and List of Harry Potter translations. I'd restore the section, but I wanted to know your reasons first. Joriki (talk) 16:53, 11 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases for registered users, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. Hi,

when you split "[S]" into "[SA]" and "[SL]" at List of Disney theatrical animated feature films, you missed one (still says "[S]") and turned one into "[SD]", which isn't defined in the "Legend" table at the top. Also, is it possible to make the full text appear in the widget that pops up when one hovers over them, like they do for the ones in the "Notes" section at the bottom? Currently, it pointlessly shows "SA" and "SL" again. Cheers!
