DYK for Silk Board junction
On 1 May 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Silk Board junction, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Silk Board junction witnesses the slowest-moving traffic in Bangalore and is one of the two most polluted places in the city? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Silk Board junction. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Silk Board junction), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. WikiProject assessment tags for talk pages
Thank you for your recent articles, including Ganga Dussehra, which I read with interest. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like {{WikiProject Keyword}} to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts and other tools. For example, WikiProject Poland relies on such templates to generate listings such as Article Alerts, Popular Pages, Quality and Importance Matrix and the Cleanup Listing. Thanks to them, WikiProject members are more easily able to defend your work from deletion, or simply help try to improve it further. Feel free to ask me any questions if you'd like more information about using those talk page templates. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 08:03, 20 June 2017 (UTC)
- Yes, I often skip the creation of talk pages mainly because (although it is a very simple task) I am too lazy and expect the person who eventually rates the article to do it. Thank you for explaining the need of those templates in detail; I was already aware of most of the points. I'll keep what you said in mind and create talk pages for new articles myself henceforth. 2017 ICC Champions Trophy Final
You said "Nice try" in your edit summary, why? You can't just remove reliably cited, relevant content because it hurts your sensitivities as an Indian. If you continue i will report your actions.58.110.11.114 (talk) 23:39, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
- Not everything reported in the media is suitable for inclusion on Wikipedia, see WP:NOTNEWS. Sure, go ahead and report me for following Wikipedia guidelines and policies. Maybe I'll get a barnstar in the process. Dee03 04:57, 24 June 2017 (UTC)
- And how did you decide these edits are NOTNEWS? It is evident that the fact that Indians didn't take the loss to their rival very well is very much NEWS. You can't simply conceal that reality because you also happen to be Indian and probably sympathise with their immature behaviour. Please explain how this edit is NOTNEWS; do you think the Indian public's hysterical reaction should be whitewashed?58.110.11.114 (talk) 22:55, 24 June 2017 (UTC)
- Firstly, I'd take your rants seriously if you were more WP:CIVIL. "hurts your sensitivities as an Indian", "the childishly nationalistic way you're behaving", etc, are totally uncalled for. Secondly, for god's sake, did you click on the WP:NOTNEWS link? I'm not saying they are "NOT NEWS". NOTNEWS is short for "Wikipedia is not a newspaper" which goes on to say things like "routine news reporting on things like announcements, sports, or celebrities is not a sufficient basis for inclusion in the encyclopedia". And I have explained on the article talk page that this kind of news is fairly routine when a subcontinent team loses on the big stage. You clearly lack WP:COMPETENCE to take part in a discussion by actually reading what the other person is saying and without name-calling. Dee03 06:21, 25 June 2017 (UTC)

Cricket player lists
Hi Dee03
Re adding to: Haryana, Goa, Vidarbha, J&K, Railways
Okay, but it might take me a couple of weeks to get to them all, and I do not know how much I can add yet.
Regards. Eno Lirpa (talk) 12:01, 3 November 2017 (UTC)
- @Eno Lirpa: Thanks for the reply. I see you started expanding the Haryana list, but you added a couple of women's cricketers. Please remove entries of women cricketers as these lists are for men's cricket teams only. I am not sure how you are compiling these lists; the Haryana list looks like a duplicate of Category:Haryana cricketers with no additional information. We at WP:CRIC use CricketArchive for getting the entire list of cricketers who played for a particular team, e.g. I used this for creating the Delhi one. I know CricketArchive has a paywall now, but that can be easily breached. Dee03 10:16, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
- I will try to add some further information when I can. No promises for now though. I am quite happy for WP:CRIC to work on them. I only come to such pages in passing doing other work. The article does not say men only. If that is supposed to be the case then ALL such articles must be moved to List of male 'club-name' cricketers. If not, then such existing titling is completely biased and sexist. Eno Lirpa (talk) 11:42, 4 November 2017 (UTC)
- The article begins with "This is a list of cricketers who have played first-class, List A or Twenty20 cricket for Haryana cricket team." Haryana cricket team is the men's cricket team and the women's cricket team is called Haryana women's cricket team. There is nothing biased or sexist about the title, it is based on WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, and you just misinterpreted the inclusion criteria for the list. You may start a List of Haryana women cricketers if you wish to counter the bias. Dee03 11:48, 4 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi Dee03. I have worked on all of the above lists. Please let me know if there is anything more to be done sooner rather than eventually. If there are any others too, whether or not I created them, let me know if you would like them added to. Regards. Eno Lirpa (talk) 06:35, 29 November 2017 (UTC)
- Hi, good work on the expansion. If you would like to complete the lists I can give you the CricketArchive links from which you can get the comprehensive lists for each team. No problem if you don't want to, someone from WP:CRIC will eventually pick them up and complete them. Dee03 13:49, 2 December 2017 (UTC)

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of 2018 Indian Premier League personnel changes, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chris Morris (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). IPL 2018
How is a user expected to edit match related info if the templates are semi-protected? I can't find any ways to do any sort of editing. Any suggestion on the same will be much appreciated. Ankurc.17 (talk)
- @Ankurc.17: the tournament page is semi-protected but the match templates are not. You can open the match template of the first match by typing "Template:2018 IPL match 1" in the search bar and then edit it. - You are not supposed to add the good article icon yourself. You need to nominate the article for good article status, after which another editor will review the article and will list it as a good article if it meets all the criteria (see Wikipedia:Good article nominations/Instructions). However, I feel the Kings XI Punjab article needs a lot of work before it can pass the GA criteria. Dee03 09:06, 22 April 2018 (UTC)
