Changing of announced date
Hey! I noticed that on The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom you changed "first half of 2021" to "Spring 2021". I've since changed it to say "Q2 2021" per MOS:SEASONS. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:35, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
- Makes sense, wasn't aware of that sorry. I just changed it because it was announced as Spring specifically and not the first half of 2023, but Q2 makes more sense in both accuracy and manual of style.
- Also I checked your edit and it's fine there but quarantine time got to you because you are two years off. DecafPotato (talk) 16:48, 15 September 2022 (UTC)
- @DecafPotato: Oops my bad lol. I'm a bit tired today. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 17:44, 15 September 2022 (UTC)

About Wolfe Glick
Hi there, I'm Schminnte, currently the main contributor to Wolfe Glick. I noticed the work you had done on the page and was very happy. Even if you were removing sections, it still makes me smile that someone else wants to help out with the page. Thanks for your contributions! Schminnte (talk) 08:10, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
- @Schminnte Sure! I think some of the sections could return; the problem is that they didn't have any sources that weren't just Wolfe himself. But yeah, I was considering making the page, so seeing that it was already made was a relief, so thank you! DecafPotato (talk) 16:48, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
If you want to contribute more that would be great! I'm currently kind of busy, so can't edit that much Schminnte (talk) 19:01, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
DYK for Pride Month
On 4 November 2022, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Pride Month, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Pride Month is held in commemoration of the Stonewall riots? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Pride Month. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Pride Month), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

- Congratulations on your new article and the shiny DYK. Sometimes wikipedians think all the necessary subjects have been covered already, and then you slap that right in our faces like we've never heard of it before. I'm so embarrassed for not noticing the page's absence. A fresh set of eyes always helps Wikipedia, and your effort is very welcome. You should know you have done us all a service by covering this obvious subject. Thank you. BusterD (talk) 09:43, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
- I concur. I was surprised that this article wasn't already a thing. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 13:30, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
- Thank you both! I honestly discovered its absence going through a rabbit hole, and then just checked in with WikiProject LGBT to make sure there wasn't consensus for it just being a redirect to "pride" as a whole. If anything, this should remind all of us that we have never covered every necessary subject, so remember to keep an eye out for them. DecafPotato (talk) 14:02, 4 November 2022 (UTC)
- I think I can safely speak for Wolf when I say welcome to Wikipedia and if we can ever be of assistance, feel free to call on us. A new wikipedian might need allies and guidance, and you've made at least two dependable new friends today. BusterD (talk) 17:08, 4 November 2022 (UTC)

Question, where are you planning on using this template? Cause it doesn't belong in mainspace because you shouldn't be linking to drafts in mainspace. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 14:29, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
- i'm pretty sure mainspace draft templates are ok; given even things like Template:AfC submission/draft, the draft template, is in mainspace. As for the creation, more of an easy navigation tool between the big amount of pokemon drafts. I could move it do userspace though. DecafPotato (talk) 17:01, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
- I don't know what you mean. Template:AfC submission/draft is only ever used in Draft space, is located in template space, and doesn't link to any particular draft. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 17:03, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
- I don't believe Pokémon drafts has been used outside of draft space, if it has though just disregard me, that's a mistake. DecafPotato (talk) 17:06, 7 November 2022 (UTC)
- Alright. That was what I was asking. Cause if it was going to be used in mainspace then there woudl be issues. However since it's only going to be used in draftspace I suppose it's fine, albeit a little pointless since it'll jsut get removed if the article goes to mainspace. It might work better as sort of a navigation header similar to the one at the top of WT:VG. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 17:08, 7 November 2022 (UTC)

Scott The Woz article removal
You removed the notable merchendise section in the page. While I may be wrong about it being notable per se wikipedia, being collapsable does not make it less worth. The YouTube episode list is in the same page, and is also collapsable. If you could give a more understandable reason, that would be appreciated. ElevenHour (talk) 07:54, 10 December 2022 (UTC)
- @ElevenHour: This turned into a wall, sorry about that :)
- I didn't mean that it being collapsible makes it less worthy to be included in the article—I meant that if it's not worthy to be included in the article, being collapsible doesn't change that. The episode list, for example, is collapsible because it is a table and would take up too much space. The list of merchandise was unreferenced, and unlike an episode list, a very well established standard for TV articles. The claim that the merchandise listed is notable for inclusion may also constitute original research, but even if there were primary sources, secondary sources are needed to showcase that the information is useful to more than just fans of Scott—the article must remain a reasonable summary of Scott to someone completely unaware of him, and while the charity merchandise is worthy of inclusion, and things like Monopoly are worth directly mentioning, no person unfamiliar with Scott would reasonably care about The Return of the Mysterious Game of Crypticism. For in-depth guides on specific niche subjects, Wikipedia tends to refer readers to dedicated Wikis on the subject. DecafPotato (talk) 15:56, 10 December 2022 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback! It's very helpful when it's explained why something is removed in depth, this is helpful. Now that the case is closed, I shall go back into my little hovel ElevenHour (talk) 22:51, 10 December 2022 (UTC)

Hello, I'm CastJared. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Reggie Fils-Aimé, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. Bulbapedia template
May I ask what the purpose of the {{Bulbapedia}} template is? You can just link to an article on Bulbapedia like you would any other article on another language wiki by doing [[bulba:ARTICLE NAME]]. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:25, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
- The template actually uses that method of linking, lol. The purpose is to standardize the links and have the ability to fetch from wikidata (like the official website and IMDb templates). DecafPotato (talk) 16:38, 23 January 2023 (UTC)
- Ah alright then. Thanks for clarifying. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:39, 23 January 2023 (UTC)

Your contributed article, DecafPotato/drafts/Super Mario
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, DecafPotato/drafts/Super Mario. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Super Mario. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Super Mario. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. — DaxServer (t · m · c) 21:29, 2 February 2023 (UTC)

Pokedex links
Regarding [1], see WP:ELLIST and User talk:PrimeHunter#Link pokedex entries (I didn't hear more from Blaze Wolf). I added the Pokedex links to all nine generations but not List of Pokémon#List of species where I think they would be too much. For consistency they should either stay or go in all the generation lists. I think they are allowed, helpful and unintrusive there but if you disagree then we can seek wider input in a talk page discussion. PrimeHunter (talk) 13:35, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- I never replied cause I didn't see a need to since I didn't have any reason to argue further since I agreed with you and was simply curious why you were doing it. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 14:04, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- I do agree that we should use consistency (in all lists or in none), I just didn’t see the edits to the other lists. As for the addition of links, I feel like, because the hub at pokemon.com/pokedex is linked through the citation, repeating those links feels unnecessary. DecafPotato (talk) 15:03, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- The only link to pokemon.com after your edit was this:
- "Gimmighoul — Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet | Official Website". scarletviolet.pokemon.com. Retrieved 2022-11-06.
- Do you mean readers should use this to find the official site, then find https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokedex (which isn't linked from that page), and then use the search box to find a Pokemon of interest? That seems like a lot of work when we can just link the Pokedex entry on the Pokedex number. It would be easier for readers if we at least linked https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokedex in the external links section but they would still have to navigate to the bottom of the page, click there, and then find a way to a wanted Pokemon. If they try the "Load more Pokémon" button at https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokedex then they have to extend the page around 70 times to reach generation IX. You cited WP:EL in the removal but did you read WP:ELLIST? PrimeHunter (talk) 18:46, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- The way I interpret ELLIST, in cases where we can have a single external link to navigate to all items in a list, we should use that instead. And for the link to the general page, it should be either in an External links section or citation a la List of Pokémon in my opinion. And I don't think that the fact that a person has to scroll down to see all the Pokémon warrants the 100+ external links. DecafPotato (talk) 19:47, 8 March 2023 (UTC)
- With Blaze Wolf now agreeing with the links and Paintspot reverting your edit, I guess the burden is on you if you want to start a wider discussion to seek consensus for removal. The links have been on nine articles for nine days with no other objections. PrimeHunter (talk) 12:59, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
- I think Paintspot only reverted because I said I want consistency and they were on all other articles. But yeah, I think there's a decent consensus in favor of adding them. despite this, though, ELLIST is a guideline, and we should make sure that this implementation is covered by it. DecafPotato (talk) 16:38, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
- We don't have to tho. IT's simply a guideline. Guideline ≠ Policy. Guidelines are simply recommendations while policy tends to be seen as rules. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:40, 9 March 2023 (UTC)
- I agree we don't have to make sure of that but also, users often have different interpretations of guidelines and policies, and there is no authority who can declare what the "right" interpretation is. If we don't actually get the wording of the guideline changed then all we (meaning you at this point) could do is start a wider discussion to ask for more input, maybe with a notification at Wikipedia talk:External links. Even if there is consensus about the "right" general interpretation of a guideline, editors of specific articles can make a local consensus. PrimeHunter (talk) 22:44, 9 March 2023 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Draft:The Infinity Saga
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Draft:The Infinity Saga, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:
- It appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:The Infinity Saga. (See section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) If a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Sourcing and notability on lists of Pokémon by generation (e.g., List of generation I Pokémon
Hello DecafPotato,
The lists of Pokémon by generation articles contain a large volume of information in the 'notes' column which appears to not be sourced and/or below the threshold for notability due to being detailed in-universe information.
I have opened a discussion in the teahouse before making any changes to avoid edit wars and agree on the appropriate actions for these articles. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Teahouse#Notes_in_the_lists_of_Pok%C3%A9mon_by_generation_(e.g.,_List_of_generation_I_Pok%C3%A9mon) [which will likely be included in archive 1198 if this link is no longer active].
As you are one of the people who has contributed strongly to these articles over the years (see https://xtools.wmcloud.org/authorship/en.wikipedia.org/List_of_generation_I_Pok%C3%A9mon , https://xtools.wmcloud.org/authorship/en.wikipedia.org/List_of_generation_II_Pok%C3%A9mon , etc. which list you amongst the top authors of these pages' content), I want to keep you informed so that there is a consensus for any significant changes to these page moving forwards.
Best regards, Shazback (talk) 16:40, 21 August 2023 (UTC)
Draft of Abandoned (video game)
Ayo. I noticed you had a draft of a better version of abandoned, i can definitely say it loooks 1000 better than what it is. I'd suggest adding the premise to the page already lol. Otherwise wanted to ask you if you still planned to work on it, and if not, can i sorta borrow what's there (method of formatting especially) and finish it off lol?
A very dumb question, by Chchcheckit (talk) 15:16, 21 August 2023 (UTC)
- @Chchcheckit – Sure, you can do whatever you want with it. I wanted to rewrite the article a bit ago because I found it really interesting, but I just haven't had the free time lately to continue work myself. I'd love to see you use my start to finish off a better version of the article! DecafPotato (talk) 00:37, 22 August 2023 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics
You have recently edited a page related to post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
