Company Stub Deleted
[edit]Hi Deb, I'm working on adding software companies to Wikipedia. It was marked as a stub and did not contain any advertisements or marketing. I'd like to know before I create another one and have someone delete that as well. What needs to be different? Detox1724 (talk) 18:26, 13 August 2013 (UTC) his own ego should be different, that means smaller. but, do not worry, that will never happen. DEB! Can I get the information I posted back? Detox1724 (talk) 14:08, 30 August 2013 (UTC)
The person I'm writing about is retired therefore there is no question of promotion or advertising.
[edit]Hi, Deb, I was hurt to see that you deleted my page 'Hanwnat lodha' because it was "promotional" and now I'm left without a backup of what I wrote. I request you to either edit it however you like, or if possible, give me a backup or a copy-paste of the article as it took me more than two hours just to collect the information, other than writing it and it definitely isn't about a business or a product, I read the other comments on this page and I do find it hard to not believe that they aren't promotional or advertising but the person i'm writing about is retired anyway - if you would check in the references, so there is no question of promotion or advertising. If you like I could mention that he is retired if you wish to display the article again. Thanks. hope you reply asap. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Parvlodha (talk • contribs) 15:33, 12 August 2013 bah, you are blaming yourself for his actions? do not feel guilty, you achieved something. maybe not the greatest of the jobs, maybe not the best, but you were just unlucky: this guy here simply found the result of your work and simply found that it contradicts his overinflated ego. so, he simply deleted it, without any consideration for the effort that you did make. do not blame yourself, as nothing in this world (and i wonder even if god...) could stand against his ego. and his laziness. 'cause otherwise he would contribute.
Rebreather Forum 3=
[edit]This was a very important safety meeting held last May. It concerns a piece of diving equipment called a Rebreather. We had experts fly in from all over the world to attend and speak at this symposium. At the end of it, 16 safety points were agreed by the conference. These safety points and the proceedings will have a very long lived legacy with regard to rebreather safety, such as changing the ethos and culture of using check lists. The Conference Proceedings are currently being written up by a team of doctors (mix of PHd and MD). This is not a promotional page. This is an educational and safety page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tumc (talk • contribs) 12:12, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
Please reinstate this page. This page is to be a resource page for divers to stop them from dying. RF3 was an education event. It was very important to the rebreather diving community. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.47.105.206 (talk) 13:24, 10 August 2013 (UTC)

Deletion review
[edit]Hi. I was told on the help page that I should inform you that I will be applying for your speedy deletion of "Brigante Aviation" to be reinstated. I have cited that you missed that the aircraft design was of particular importance both scientifically and from an engineering point of view, the aircraft was rather unique. Although it could be considered promotion, the article was written in a non-promoting fashion and that fact that a company is involved usually does not stop important articles about aircraft manufacturers being deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MikeDutton (talk • contribs)

Deletion of Hipset Network
[edit]Hi there, you deleted the stub I posted for Hipset Network - I'm a little confused, because the company clearly has notability as evidenced by the sources I found on the first page of a google results page. - (talk page stalker) To Roguebluejay. I saw your comment which, contrary to normal practice, you have deleted from your user talk page, "what I've been trying to do is start articles which are only one or two lines …". This is a lethal approach. You should develop articles in your own user space, eg. Deletion of Make a Hero Page
[edit]Hi Deb,
I saw that the contribution I made about the organization was deleted because it appeared promotional. Hello. If I may I would like to notify you about this editor's misconduct: when asked about his latest edits (making controversial moves and inserting original research [1][2]), instead of giving a proper explanation he resorted to accusing me of being your sockpuppet (apparently because you had already opened a similar thread on his page). When I asked him again to provide sources backing up his claims about 'string theory'-related standard terminology he resorted to making even more dubious claims that lead other editors to thinking that the content he has inserted is validated by references, when in fact it is not. I replied to the latter by directly quoting the very texts he mentioned in order to establish the fact that they do not back up any of his claims; he then resorted again to borderline personal attacks [3][4], while still not providing sources. I would like your opinion on this, please. --Omnipaedista (talk) 14:49, 17 July 2013 (UTC)

Discussion on manual of style for Royal family Style and Titles
[edit]Hi Deb, there has been an ongoing discussion on how to present styles and articles for the royal family, specific with Prince George of Cambridge's page. As I point it out, we should be adhering to the precedent styles with other royals such as Elizabeth II, George V, Prince Harry of Wales et, al. And to present it in a bulleted style rather than prose/statement creates a much straighforward and direct presentation, as otherwise. Your thoughts will be appreciated Pseud 14 (talk) 00:23, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
- Oh hey, thanks for responding, I was referring to the 'Titles and Styles' subsection. As shown below:
- 22 July 2013 – present: His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge[1]
Under letters patent issued by King George V in 1917[2] and Queen Elizabeth II in 2012,[3][4] George is, from birth, a British prince and is entitled to the style of Royal Highness. As with other children born to royal dukes (as well as Princes of Wales), Prince George is referred to by a territorial designation taken from his father's title (as noted in media notes released by Buckingham Palace on 22 July 2013),[5] in this case "Cambridge" from his father's title of Duke of Cambridge.[6]
We are pointing out that it should follow the same bulleted format as with other prince and princess or members of the royal family, instead of being just being stated as simple a prose/statement. Pseud 14 (talk) 10:31, 30 July 2013 (UTC)

The previous article's history shows a continuous process of improvement by Wiki editors which does not support your claim that it somehow escaped notice. If you reinstate the old article I will work on the revised article to meet your suggested criteria. John Brandwatch uk (talk) 11:24, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
Hi Deb, not looking for a deal - just an objective consideration of criteria that you seem intent on ignoring. I had no idea Wikipedia was such a hostile and uncooperative space. If your intention was to crush my first attempts at becoming a contributor then you have succeeded admirably! John Brandwatch uk (talk) 12:12, 13 August 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Deb!
I was working on the Animoto wiki page and was far from being done. Could you please undelete the page that I was working one? Also, any suggestions are welcome!

Hi Deb!
It's me again! I am almost finished with the article. Could you review it before I submit it? I would like to know what I need to do to improve the page so it won't be deleted. Thanks!

FYI, the editor continues to recreate this content with the edit summary "it's ok". I have given them a warning and a final warning now on their talk page. If possible, I would suggest the page be salted to avoid it being recreated again. Cabe6403(Talk•Sign) 13:04, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

- No, it's better not to experiment in article space. If you haven't got time to write the article properly, it's better to create the stub in your sandbox and move it later. Deb (talk) 12:56, 16 August 2013 (UTC)

Conversation over deletion of Loucks Stadium at White Plains High School
[edit]- Hi Deb. I am wondering why this page was deleted. What was wrong with the content of the page? Kindly elaborate, and specify what is needed for the page to exist. Thank you. NYCWikiKid (talk) 16:36, 17 August 2013 (UTC)
- As several people have pointed out to you above, to demonstrate notability, you need to add independent references. A school sports stadium is unlikely to meet the criteria.Deb (talk) 16:42, 17 August 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Deb, the created page had information to direct links of the teams using the facility and it had external links to these teams showing evidence of its usage. Before deleting, you could have contacted me and simply asked to add more links. If no links were added, then delete. But you didn't even send a communication. I will once again attempt to place the page, with more information to satisfy the criteria. Nonetheless, I ask in fairness, to at least create a dialogue with me. I am very open to collaborating and improving Wikipedia. Thank you. NYCWikiKid (talk) 16:53, 17 August 2013 (UTC)
- You are mistaken. There were no independent references included in the article.Deb (talk) 17:12, 17 August 2013 (UTC)
- Oh, nearly forgot. Your latest article Hamden Hall Country Day School Field also has no independent references and has been tagged for a while. If you cannot provide the references, I will have to delete that one as well.Deb (talk) 17:14, 17 August 2013 (UTC)
- Also Dalling Field at Saint Joseph High School Field.Deb (talk) 17:15, 17 August 2013 (UTC)
- No, I am not "mistaken". I clearly placed external links, as well as internal links to the original article in question, before you deleted it without word. In regard to the next two you are randomly mentioning, these articles were created within the past couple of hours. It is impossible that they be tagged for "a while" as it would imply that the page was there for several days. Nonetheless, I have gone ahead and added a couple of references if that is the inconvenience. I again express, that if there is some particular detail needed in addition, do just amicably contact me, as I am very friendly and I will do my every effort to help. Thank you. NYCWikiKid (talk) 18:00, 17 August 2013 (UTC)
- The article that was deleted contained two links. One consisted solely of directions to the field for the benefit of those playing there; the other was the school's own website. Neither of these are independent references that demonstrate notability. You actually tagged Hamden Hall Country Day School Field yourself when you created it, a couple of hours before I wrote the above. You are clearly familiar with the guidelines. As long as you abide by them, your articles won't get deleted. The only reason contributors sometimes get advance warning of speedy deletions is that most editors don't have the level of access required to delete articles so all they can do is give a warning. Don't expect this special treatment from administrators. Deb (talk) 20:15, 17 August 2013 (UTC)
- Deb, this back and forth over something that is easily fixed is really moot and passe. I am not interested in alleged privileges. I only constructively said that communication is preferable and ideal. This lends to users continuing to improve an article rather than discouragingly starting from scratch. I am currently expanding a few wiki pages. I'll eventually reintroduce the article we've spoken about and hopefully it will meet the basics. All the best NYCWikiKid
I hope you don't mind an uninvolved editor intruding, but it doesn't appear Loucks_Stadium_at_White_Plains_High_School would qualify for WP:CSD#A7.
An article about a real person, individual animal(s), organization, web content or organized event that does not indicate why its subject is important or significant, with the exception of educational institutions.
I understand there's a discussion about applying A7 to buildings but I am not familiar with that being current policy. OSborn arfcontribs. 21:34, 17 August 2013 (UTC)
Warning a user with no recent edits
[edit]I saw you added uw-advert1 to Stott.parker (talk · contribs)'s talk page today. As far as I can see, that user has not edited since
- 20:28, 19 March 2013 (diff | hist | all) . . (+244) . . Douglass Parker
and you did not revert that edit. Your warning was also unsigned. I thought I'd bring to your attention that you might have warned this editor in error. OSborn arfcontribs. 21:10, 17 August 2013 (UTC)
- The warning was actually for an article I deleted: Tutto Theatre Company, which was clearly promotional. I used the "subst" template which added my user ID in the text of the warning. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that makes an additional signature superfluous - otherwise I'm sure the bot would have picked it up. Deb (talk) 07:27, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
- I suspected there might have been a deleted contribution, but the template was about reverting a contribution so it looked out of place. I assumed we had a user warning template specifically for G11, but now that I look I don't see one. (Really weird - I really thought we had one.) As to the signature, it probably doesn't matter, like you said. OSborn arfcontribs. 13:06, 18 August 2013 (UTC)

[edit]I find the long citation templates too much of a bother to use. So, I created the templates Rtr and Srs because they are easier to use, and I have been using them. However, somebody has been putting graffiti in them in the form of a “speedy deletion” request. I want to use my templates and I should have that option. Deleting One of Us European Citizens' initiative page
[edit]Hi, you deleted this page, I don't really know why, the reason was that there is no info about the group behind it, but it was clearly stated that two Europe's Parliment Memebers (Carlo Cassini and Jaime Mayor Oreja) are the creators of the initiative. Moreover there were references to the initiative web page, I know that the article was all but complete, but maybe rather than deleting it, it would be better to investigate and complete it. Mucha Mori
[edit]I noticed that you speedily deleted Mucha Mori. While I agree that user RenRen070193, whom I've been watching for some time, has been creating some dubious pages (she seems to want to create a page on every Japanese figure from sports or entertainment who is part Filipino), I don't agree that all her pages fit the criteria for speedy deletion. Mucha Mori, for instance, plays at the highest level of women's professional basketball in Japan and is a member of the national team ([9]). I would request that you recreate that page and, if you don't agree it is notable, nominate it for AfD. I can then present my case on the AfD. Michitaro (talk) 00:00, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for responding. If you restore the article, I will try to bring it up to snuff. I try to patrol new Japan-related articles and saw this, but while I was able to add a third-person ref, I did not have time to do much else. But I had seen enough to feel this did not deserve speedy deletion. FYI, the teams in the Women's Japan Basketball League are, like Japanese pro baseball teams, named after companies that own or sponsor them, so the name itself should not be taken as evidence of lack of notability. Michitaro (talk) 15:31, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
- I recognise that - however, notable teams should be linked. Deb (talk) 15:54, 24 August 2013 (UTC)
- Unfortunately, much that is notable in the non-English world is underrepresented on the English Wikipedia, so even though there is a league page, none of the teams have a page here. I have, however, beefed up Mori's page. Michitaro (talk) 17:05, 24 August 2013 (UTC)

Frankly, what is advertisement about a compiler, besides a free compiler for a language? Why not delete the entire D programming language page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D_programming_language) while you are at it? Instead of deleting, you could have helped by writing two or three more lines on that page. Why not remove the entire LLVM page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Llvm)? Maybe remove Wikipedia entirely, what about that? It would just make way for zillions of pages, all of which would be just be perfect, since all blank. The LDC compiler is referenced from this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/LDC, just go there and search for "LLVM D Compiler, D (programming language) compiler using LLVM backend", there is/was a page waiting for its creation. This is how you contribute? By deleting other's people work, and don't trying a bit to improve it? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Axeoth (talk • contribs) 15:11, 26 August 2013 (UTC) what about adding YOURSELF those references if you really care about contributing? other thing that your inflated ego do you have to share? blah, with guys like you, wikipedia would be really just perfect: a blank page. of course, with a reference towards those guidelines as an excuse to not move a finger. go and contribute something, not just plainly delete something. what about going at your workdesk and writing that page about the LLVM compiler? oh, that's work and you don't like it? just wait for somebody to do all the effort while you are just destroying his/her every effort? go and live up at the standards that you impose on others. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Axeoth (talk • contribs) 11:25, 27 August 2013 (UTC)

Of what you wrote in summary, http://www.ebharat.in/profile/mulayam-singh-yadav/biography is a mirror site which uses many of our info. There might be content copied and pasted from the other link you mention http://www.samajwadipartyindia.com/national_president.php. But the article has been on Wiki for quite a long and am sure there is a version in it's history present which can be restored to with no copyvios. §§Dharmadhyaksha§§ {T/C} 17:07, 27 August 2013 (UTC)
